It was not a huge bill. They are very willing to do small projects. We have used them several times to do small things. That is nice. Their work is great. I like that they are willing to work with older wiring as we have a really old house. I am sure we will be using them again.

We had an estimate done over the phone for installation of 3 bedroom ceiling fans, for $250 each which was $50 cheaper than another electrician's estimate. Blue Jay stuck with this price, even though the actual job required more time than expected, plus a trip to Home Depot for a few materials. We were extremely happy with the service that Rich and Zack provided us! The fans operate perfectly. Both electricians were professional and they made sure to vacuum the work areas afterwards. We would definitely recommend Blue Jay Electric to our friends.

Great work. They arrived at the appointed time & did the work in less than an hour. The work required drilling through an enclosed ceiling joist and this was accomplished quickly & neatly.

I called for an appointment, described the height of ceiling from which fan is suspended and described my concerns. I was told 2 servicemen would be necessary due to size ladder, base price, and the appointment was set within 1 week. Rich and Zake arrived early, set up, assessed fan, detached paddles for cleaning and reattached after I cleaned and polished them, cleaned the brass motor housing, reattached brass canopy securely (it had fallen during roofing work due to being set only via caulking). They were attentive, focused, efficient and done promptly.

About 6 months ago, I had Jay install a new, larger capacity fuse box (my original 25-year old box was woefully old and overworked). I was so favorably impressed with the service, I stuck their business card magnet on my fridge and told my wife to "call Jay" if we should need any electric work in the future. Last night the temp hit 20 degrees and - of course - the heat pump shut off! I checked the fuse box and saw that every time the auxiliary heat kicked in, the switch would trip. We got through the night under the quilts and I called Jay at 7:25 the next morning, leaving an urgent voice message. 10 minutes later, Jay himself called back, and promised to send his men out as soon as possible. Unbelievably, Rich and Nick showed up on my doorstep 45 minutes later, immediately diagnosed the problem as a defective breaker switch, raced back to the shop to retrieve a new switch, returned and had the new switch installed (no charge), all in less than one hour. Now, I know that their shop is a good 15 minutes one way, with no traffic and this was a typical Friday morning rush hour in the Baltimore-Washington DC corridor, folks!! Angie, if anyone in the south Baltimore area needs an electrician, tell them to call Blue Jay Electric. They're just the BEST.

This is the first time I've hired Blue Jay Electric, and I was very impressed from the beginning. I had asked Blue Jay to do an estimate nearly 6 weeks ago, with the intent of having the work done soon after. However, I had to go out of town unexpectedly, then the holidays came, and so weeks after receiving the quote I called back. Not only did Jay remember me, but he remembered my address and told me he would honor the original quote price - even though I now had additional work I wanted done. I mentioned that I had an unexpected free day the very next day, and he said he'd see what he could do. 10 minutes later he called back and I was scheduled for the morning. A contractor who is willing and able to work with tight schedules is already tops in my book. The next morning, Ritchie and his assistant installed new fixtures in my dining room and kitchen where previously there had been no lighting; they replaced two fixtures in the guest bathroom; ran a new line from the main box into the basement and installed 7 new fixtures; switched out a bunch of older dimmer switches for a more contemporary style; and ended the day by evaluating the lighting in the master bedroom and walk-in closet and making some suggestions for additional lighting. I was impressed by Ritchie's work ethic - he laid protective coverings over everything, made sure not to nick the walls or ceiling, and didn't leave a speck of dust behind him. He takes a lot of pride in his work and I feel he goes the extra mile because he is devoted to quality rather than getting the job done faster or easier. Blue Jay Electric is now the only company I'll consider when I need electrical work done.

Excellent experience. My initial call was returned quickly. I spoke with Jay, who was professional and courteous. We were very impressed with Eric, who showed up on time, diagnosed the problems, and repaired them. He, too, was very professional and courteous. We have used this company in the past, and will definitely use them again. I recommend them highly.

After recently relocating to the area, I was in search of a reliable electrician who could perform several wiring improvements to my new home safely and reliably. The goal was to build a relationship with a company that I could trust and call on in the future. I interviewed five companies from Angie?s List and found that Blue Jay was the most professional, most reasonably priced, and most focused on earning my business. Several things make them distinctive based on my experience. First, the owner, Jay, prefers to come out to the site and provide an estimate vs. others who would rather price jobs over the phone. He is knowledgeable and provides excellent advice based on his experience. They don?t subcontract work, the techs are all certified, and they don't overbook schedules. Secondly, Tracy, who manages the office, promptly returns phone calls/emails and is customer oriented. Thirdly, the crew is professional, punctual, and respectful of your home. Richie and Zach arrived at my home exactly as promised at 7:30am on the day of the job. Since they did not have booties to wear over their shoes inside the home, they immediately went to a local hardware store to purchase them even when I suggested just putting plastic grocery bags over their boots as an alternative. Keon arrived later and was just as respectful when inside my home. Moreover, I was very particular with the products I supplied to them to install and they did an absolutely amazing job explaining what they were going to do at each phase. Richie is certainly not an amateur. He is a perfectionist who does a great job leading the crew so the work is done quickly, correctly, and to code. Lastly, its important to note your home is not left in a mess when the work is completed. These guys were careful in putting down drop clothes, vacuumed each room they worked in, and disposed of trash/debris prior to leaving. My wife and I are proponents of supporting local business. Bigger companies tend to be more focused on their margins whereas Blue Jay is more focused on satisfying customers. This company proved in every way that they?ve earned our business for years to come.

Electrician was very professional and understood what was needed to be done. He proceeded without delay to complete all the tasks we asked. i would hire this company again. Very professional. Quickly responded to my inital phone call and was able to provide an estimate in a matter of a few days. The work was scheduled promptly. The technician arrived on time, was courteous and finished the job within the time frame. I am very pleased with Blue Jay Electric and will definitiely be using them in the future for my electrical needs.

I called on Tuesday and asked if they were free to come on Thursday (2 days later). The lady who answered the phone said she would have to check and get back to me. She called me back within the hour and and they were able to come out first thing Thursday morning. Eric arrived on time, was very nice and professional. He diagnosed and fixed the problem within 1/2 an hour. He asked how I learned about their company and gave me the Angie's List coupon. I was very relieved the problem was not serious. I am VERY happy with Blue Jay Electric Co.

I had scheduled the appointment for 7:30 AM, but the appointment was not logged, so no one showed up. Jay called to apologize, and sent an electrician who arrived at 2:30 PM. Diagnosing the root cause of the GFI short was tedious and time consuming, but Rich figured it out and got everything working again. He quoted me a price of $385 for them to come back and replace the attic exhaust fan at a later date.

I called Blue Jay when I found them on Angie's List. I left a message. Jay, the owner, called me back shortly and gave me a quote on the phone of $225. There was a $25 off coupon for Angie's List members which I used. I had the fans already and the ceilings were pre-wired for the fans. This is a new condo and I elected to install my own fans instead of paying the builder for the upgrade. Blue Jay was very reasonable in their price and very professional. Eric called to say he could be here earlier if I wanted and was very prompt. He cleaned up everything and installed the fans very quickly. I was extremely satisfied and would not hesitate to hire them again.

I called Blue Jay and within a day had a call back and an appointment for an estimate. Jay was very polite, punctual, and professional - he emailed me the estimate we discussed the next day with the scope of the services to be performed outlined clearly. Rich showed up to do the work and was also extremely professional and punctual. He was able to install my chandelier and replace the recessed light without damaging the surrounding drywall ceiling and left no mess behind him. I was really impressed with Rich and would DEFINITELY call Blue Jay again for future projects. My chandelier looks fantastic - thanks Rich and Blue Jay!

Rich and Zack arrived at the scheduled time. They explained everything that they were going to do as they went along. They consulted me when they found a problem. When my washer and dryer was delivered Rich made sure that the cable was correct and connected the cable to my dryer. He checked the current in the outlets and cleaned up the work area. They were both very professional and I would recommend them to anyone.

Blue Jay Electric did a great job. Jay provided us with a detailed and itemized initial quote so that we could pick and choose what services we wanted done. The work itself was done well, done quickly and (especially important in a child's bedroom) done with minimal dust, dirt, etc. It was a very particular job and the on-site electrician was very responsive every request we made. A minor issue with a three-way switch was corrected within days of notifying the company. All in all, it was a great experience and I would not hesitate to use Blue Jay Electric again in the future.

Overall I was very happy with the results of the job. The estimation process was easy and accurate. The crew arrived on time, performed the work as described, cleaned up as they worked, and finished early. They were extremely professional and exceeded my expectations. I will definitely hire again.

Blue Jay gave us an appointment for the day after we called them (for a non-emergency problem with the photoelectric-cell-activated lamp in our front yard). Rich came at the advertised time and worked quickly and competently to the source of the problem, an outside tripped ground fault interruptor that we had forgotten about. Rich was very pleasant and helpful, including giving us advice that will help us in the future. We will certainly use Blue Jay again!

I really liked these guys from the start. Jay showed up promptly for the estimate and Eric and Zach showed up on time for the actual job. The job was originally to move two light switches to opposite sides of their respective rooms. Due to a misunderstanding on my part I opted not to have one of the light switches moved because it was work I was just going to mess up in a year when I remodel the kitchen. The switch they did move was done very cleanly and very quickly. Eric also suggested that I could move the junction box where the old switch was (which would have resulted in a blank in the middle of the living room wall) to the other side of the adjoining wall and into a closet. It was a great solution to the problem of having an ugly blank in the middle of the wall. They were in, out and cleaned up after themselves in two hours. I will be calling them again for any future projects.

All work was done quickly and thoroughly. Conversations were conducted while he continued to work. He notified me of any decisions that had to be made before any action was taken. He caulked around the new porch light when he saw that hornets had built a nest behind the old porch light which I thought showed thoroughness.

Rich showed up right on time (early, actually) and worked quickly to remove & replace the melted socket. He also removed burned wire behind the wall (we were lucky we didn't have a serious house fire). He informed me that the issue was a space heater that used too many amps, which I had not been aware of. He then went around the house and checked all of the other sockets for any melting or other damage, which was nice. He also worked on (and fixed) a faulty connection to our back porch light. We have had Blue Jay Electric out to our fixer-upper MANY times over the past year and they always do excellent work at a fair price. We will have them over again (I'm sure we'll need them from time to time!).

It went great, the tech Richie did a great job, the previous hard wired mess under my sink look about 50 years old and now everything looks great
