Blue Jay Electric was great. They were able to come out the same week that I called for an appointment. Our electrician was courteous, professional and efficient. He inspected wiring for a circuit that breaks easily in the winter and made a replacement (we'll have to wait until the winter to resolve that issue because it involves our heater). He also replaced a ceiling fan. We will definitely use Blue Jay in the future and have already recommended them to friends.

From start to finish, it was an absolute pleasure working with Blue Jay Electric!! We contacted Jay and told him that we were going to purchase a generator for our house, but wanted a transfer box installed so that we would not need extension cords. He was so helpful. He asked me to write an email to him of every appliance and all items we wanted to be able to run off of the generator. He set up the date for the work to be done. Rich came out (very punctual) and was so professional and friendly. He tested all the circuits after he finished, and showed my husband exactly what to do to use the transfer box. We are thrilled!! We're ready for power outages! I would highly recommended this company for any electrical work you need to have done!!!

I had never had need to employ an electrician before, and while the work that I needed done was fairly routine, Jay and his staff were professional and responsive to all of my questions before the appointment. The electrcian was on time, personable, and efficient as he completed his work. I may replace other lighting fixtures, and if I do, I will call Blue Jay.

A few years ago I had Jay come out & give me an estimate on fixing some electrical issues. Thankfully they weren?t of any safety concerns because I had to put the work on the back burner, as one of my bathrooms unexpectedly required some extensive work. I called Jay again and they still had my paperwork with the estimate on file. He came back to review the work and I added a few new things to the list. He was very fair about not increasing the original estimate too much. Ritchie and Zach arrived on schedule. I have an old house with no attic or basement & Ritchie had to run new wiring outside the house. While doing this he would check if I was OK with the placement. He did an extremely great job ? very neat! Installing the back porch light went smoothly, but as usual for anything in my house, the front porch lights didn?t. They readied the lights to be installed, opened the box & Ritchie saw signs the wires had already been used. I decided to still move forward with the installation. The first one installed did not work. Our thought was it could be defective, so he hooked up the other one which did not work either. Thinking that odd he looked over the original wiring. Some things didn?t look right, but it was hard to tell without possibly tearing thru walls. He investigated more looking in the bedroom crawl space and saw wiring leading down towards the front of the house. As it was late in the day and not knowing how long this would take to tackle, we both opted for him to return another day. I decided to return the lights buying new ones then scheduled their return. When they arrived they got to work immediately, actually starting before I even got to the door. I?m not sure how it came to be but he asked for a light bulb and testing the wiring ? it worked. Turned out the other lights were both defective. He installed the new ones and I had light. Zach cleaned up all areas very nicely. I was more than happy! A half day of work turned into about an hour saving me a lot of money thanks to Ritchie who was quick with an idea that found a solution. His honesty about not needing the extra work was greatly appreciated. The guys never stopped nor slowed down for a minute. These are great qualities in an individual and a great reflection on the company. I wouldn?t hesitate to use them again.

I did not know who to trust to solve the problem, so I joined Angie's List and searched through the electrical listings. I read about Blue Jay and decided to give them a shot because they seemed to be a small, caring, local company. Rich came out, quickly diagnosed my problem as a bad GFI, and replaced it. My tub runs for the first time in seven years. Why did it take me so long? I did not trust just anyone to come in and do the right job for a fair price. Thanks to Rich, Blue Jay and Angie's List for solving my delayed maintenance headache. BR

They did an excellent job, cleaned up after themselves and were really pleasant to work with. Price-wise, they were competitive. Not the least expensive, but also not the most expensive. I got the best gut feeling after talking to them. I'd definitely call on Blue Jay again.

I left a message with this company after reading the reviews on Angie's List. I received a call a few hours later and was told that an electrician could possibly be available that afternoon, but would receive a confirmation in a few minutes. Hours passed and I never heard back. When I attempted to call the company again, no one answered.

They are great. They knew exactly what was the problem and fixed my problems immediately. He was very professional.

The team showed up on-time and started right away. They knew exactly what needed to be done after a quick walk-through of the house. They worked diligently all day. They made a quick trip to Home Depot for a missing part and finished shortly after their return. They were extremely neat and professional and left no mess. My kids and I were home all day while the work was being performed and they could not have been better. When the work was complete, anything they had to move around to do their work was put back in its place. Overall, they were fantastic! I would absolutely use them again. I called several other electricians listed on Angie's List to also provide estimates for this job. Not only was Blue Jay probably the best price overall, they were the most professional. Some of the other electricians I contacted never called me back. One came out to look at the job but neglected to ever provide an estimate to me. Another was more than $500 more expensive than Blue Jay for the same work. This is a quality company all the way around.

I contacted Blue Jay Electric based on the reviews from Angies list. I needed someone quickly since my landscaper had cut a live wire and it was left exposed in my backyard. Jay fit me in for an early appointment the next morning. Rich and Zach showed up on time and resolved the problem quickly. While they were here they also checked out a few other items I was concerned about. They provided advice and replaced two hard wired builder fire/smoke detectors and inspected a troublesome light switch. They even noticed that the dimmer bulbs in my recessed lightning were not correct and replaced them for me. They were very professioinal, experienced, and easy going. Rich told me to call if I had any questions after the job was complete, which I did, and he returned my call promptly.I'm very pleased with my experience with Blue Jay Electric and recommend them and would definetly use their services again.

Rich and Zack arrived on time and got to work right away. They quickly identified an issue with the way my rafters were spaced, so they figured out a solution. Rick communicated with me the whole time letting me know what was going on. Both of them took care to cover the furniture and not leave a mess. when they were done, Rick showed me how to use the fans and assured me if there were any issues to call. Thank you very much. I highly recommend them and am so glad that I now have a trusted electrician I can call, if needed.

We are moving our washer and drier from the bedroom to the basement and we called Blue Jay to install the necessary electrical wiring. Keon arrived a few minutes early, he was courteous and professional, and he worked diligently and cleaned up after himself when he was done. All the wiring was very neatly done and it all appears to work fine. The price was within the estimated range and Keon patiently answered several of my dumb questions. Jay, the boss, stopped by to bring Keon some additional supplies, and he was also very friendly. I was very happy with my experience and would definitely use Blue Jay again.

Rich does an outstanding job. We had him once before and the job was a little tricky but he handled it.

Rich and Eric did an excellent job installing new wired smoke detectors, & doing a basic inspection. They also went above and beyond to help me with some additional items that needed doing: esp. a broken wired light fixture and switch.They took the time to answer a number of my questions, were very friendly and cheerful.I strongly recommend Blue Jay for your home wiring needs.

Tuesday morning about 7:45 I called Blue Jay electric, and explained that I needed an electrician either that day or the next to install 9 receptacles and to inspect and repair the electrical subpanel in the garage before our settlement on Thursday, also mentioned that we were stood up by the electrician who had been supposed to come on Monday afternoon. Jay said Rich would come out between 10 and noon. Sure enough, Rich called at 9:45 to say that he's on his way from Ellicott City. Rich arrived around 10:45 or so. I explained the situation, and Rich got right to work without wasting any time. He replaced all nine two-prong receptacles with grounded three prong versions, checked that the panel in the garage was okay, and that was that. He was out by 11:30 and I made my noon lunch meeting in time. He charged me their standard rate minus the $25 Angie's list coupon price, or $125.

I left them a message and they called me back withing the hour and gave me a quote over the phone. Then a few days later I called to set up an appointment and they came that week and were right on time. He was done in a couple of hours and the final price was accurate to the estimate. Would definitely use them again.

I was very pleased with the professionalism of Blue Jay Electric. They responded to our situation quickly and responsibly. The problem was identified correctly and with BG&E, it was also quickly resolved. I would surely use them again for any electrical problems or needs.

Overall, great customer service. The owner Jay answered the phone, was very courteous and they were able to accommodate me on the same day. Eric, came out, explained the issues and what needed to be done. He completed all the work fast, and cleaned up afterwards. Prior to this, I'd never had to use an electrician, but I'm glad I found Blue Jay.

Blue Jay was responsive and came out quickly to the job to meet me for an estimate. This is a big project that would take several days and I believe they were not really interested in doing the work. The scope was discussed over the phone and I feel like my time was wasted even meeting for an estimate. The estimate came back over double of other electricians that bid the job! I think this company is probably good and responsive for smaller break/fix type jobs but not for larger scale projects which is fine but needs to be made clear up front.

I initially left a voice mail, but this was returned within 30 minutes. They were able to send a technician to the area within 1 hour. Eric was very professional, taking time to listen to my description of the problem, and talking through his possible diagnoses. He systematically went through various systems, talking me through his thought process. When he turned the power off to the house to fix the problem, he was sure to ask about any critical hardware or appliances that might be affected (such as my computer). I felt confident in his work, and would certainly call Blue Jay again for any electrical issues.
