Rich and Zach were awesome - timely, efficient, tidy and Rich explained everything. I would definitely recommend and will be asking for Rich in the future.

I Emailed about wanting a free estimate. Got the estimate right before the Memorial Day weekend, written quote was delivered via email on Tuesday. It was reasonable, but had all items wrapped into one quote. I asked the desk/scheduling woman for a by-job breakdown so I could get the work done piece by piece and the response was fast. I was able to make an (early morning appointment) within 2 business days. They do not do appointments on Saturday or Sunday The electrician that came out was RICH (different from who did the quote). He was excellent I would DEFINATELY use him again and am already planning on scheduling more appointments. First for little things around the house (add lights to closets, pantry) - and eventually for my entire basement. He arrived on time, went to work immediately. He responded patiently and knowledgeably to my questions (so I could do some of my own stuff in the future). And, I've already recommended him to 2 of my co-workers.

The owner himself responded within a day to my request that they check out a problem I was having with my power supply. When he arrived I described my problem, in which outlets were not working, and he first checked the incoming power at my breaker box. He found that the incoming electric supply was faulty, with one of three phases being out. The total visit took an hour, because I decided to have him call BGE for me. I figured a professional electrician would be more successful than me in convincing the utility that the problem was theirs. One niggling point: on that call he didnt get a work order number from BGE which made it hard for me to check the status later. (And predictably they had no record of it later.) Although this necessitated a subsequent call to BGE for a (free) repair, the call to Blue Jay was the price of a regular service call, $125. I am OK with that, since he quickly found the issue.

Rich and Zack installed 2 exhaust fans that we supplied. We had a previous contractor install a vent in the attic to the side of the house, but the challenge was that there's a ton of blown-in insulation in the attic. They did a great job and gave me a great price.

I have been using this company for over 10 years. I called to set up an appt for a number of tasks to be done at my house. I talked with Jay who then had the scheduler set the appt. I explained to the scheduler that I can only take service calls on Monday and Friday. An appt was set up for the following Monday. Ritchie showed up on time, as usual. When I showed him the things to be done, he explained that he couldn't do them because he needed an entire day. He had been scheduled for two other appointments. I am disappointed but understood and got rescheduled for the following Monday. On Monday, Ritchie had not shown up during the 8:00 - 10:00 window. I called BJ and the phone was never answered by a live person. I called again later and left a message. I sent an email to BJ. Two hours later, the email--(not a phone call) response showed up. The message was that the scheduler called and left a message on my phone that Ritchie had an emergency on Monday and would be over on Tuesday. I explicitly told them that can't take calls Tuesday-Thursday. THERE WAS NO MESSAGE ON MY PHONE. In fact, I found out yesterday 5/22/14, that my mailbox was full. So there was no way that a message was left. None of this was Ritchie's fault. Ritchie called Monday to talk to me about supplies and confusion about the schedule. I told him that no one had contacted me about my appointment. He was told by the scheduler that on Tuesday "I had to leave." Not true, since all the scheduler had was my voice mail. They decided abitrarily to change me to tuesday without even talking to me! My question is what is going on in this company??? These schedulers are losing business for this company. Jay was informed that this had happened and I never got a call, note, nothing from him. I hold the scheduler and the management responsible. I am beyond disappointed in BJ electric since have trusted and relied on them for all this time. Now, I am in the process of finding another company to fulfill my electrical needs.

Keon was awesome. I have a WWI era house that I am struggling to remodel the kitchen (among other things) and Keon listened to my plans & made suggestions on how to complete my goals without needing a new (larger) breaker box. He also took opportunities to teach me about the old wiring in my house & how (over the years) improvements/additions were made to the electrical system. He also found a switch that was not installed correctly that was a fire hazard! He fixed a nearly 100 year old 3-way switch that I had looked at by another professional last summer who wouldn't even touch it. Upon completion, Keon looked at my next electrical project & (again) made suggestions & gave me a rough estimate. My next step this summer is plumbing, but (if my budget allows), I want Keon out again to do my next project ASAP.

Rich and Zack arrived on time and worked as an excellent team troubleshooting the issues of installing in a very old house. They were particular; they attended to unexpected problems and details so that everything looked perfect. They answered my many questions, plus they were interesting and even entertaining. The final cost was consistent with the initial estimate (by phone) and seemed fair. I definitely plan to hire them for additional projects.

Rich was prompt, fast, found bad wires and corrected the problem. Answered questions appropriately. Installed outlet and wiring on welder.

The first time we had Blue Jay Electric out, was to put in some electric sockets that we needed. Our house is 65 years old so over the years I've been upgrading the electricity and we had some additional sockets put in. He installed a light that we wanted for our inside stairs to the basement. He instakked a baseboard heater in our bedroom because the old one went off. When he did the light over the bathtub, he had to run wires to it from our wall switch in the bathroom and in order to do it, his electricians took their time and finally decided they needed to make two additional holes and they explained it very fairly. They added six beautiful down-lights in our family room, two in the little bedroom, they did a beautiful job with that and it was a drop-ceiling that I had put in with the fiber glass ceiling tiles and they were real careful with them.

Help us installed/wired the smoke detectors on all three level of the house, he also gave create an outlet on the second floor so that we can plug the CO2 device. Jay is willing to work with our tight schedule and very professional and knowledgeable about the product he is servicing.

Jay is professional and was punctual. He was very nice to chat with and seemed incredibly knowledgeable. He took great notes and when the work was scheduled, he had two electricians come out and take care of everything. They only had a few questions and knocked it out easily. The electricians were polite, worked the whole time and cleaned up after themselves. Very courteous and the price was incredibly reasonable. Looking forward to Jay's company finishing the electrical work done in the basement for the next phase! Nice to have a contractor who comes through!

Blue Jay Electric did a fabulous job in completing the work. Highly recommended! There were friendly, competent, and punctual. We had a great experience.

I contacted Blue Jay Electric to get a quote for a new ceiling fan installation in my living room which had no existing wiring in the ceiling or attic access. the owner Jay came to my house and was extremely friendly and professional and provided an estimate for running the wire up the wall, through all the joists and navigating around the sprinkler system to the new ceiling fan location, as well as a new wall plate and switch. I was quoted $300, which I felt was fair considering the amount of fishing of wire that had to be done. The installation was performed by Rich and Zack. They were very professional and courteous when they arrived. They walked me through the process and discussed the options they had in regards to the holes they would need to make. They worked quickly to fish the wiring up through the wall and ceiling, and installed my new ceiling fan. They did a great job minimizing holes in the drywall, keeping my patch work to a minimum. The new fan looks great, and I couldn't be happier with the whole process. There were no surprises on my bill, it was exactly what I was quoted. The other reviews for Blue Jay are spot on, they are a friendly and professional electric company that offers excellent services at a great prices. I will look to them for any future electrical needs, thanks again.

Rick showed up right on time and got right to work. He finished the job ahead of schedule and did and excellent job. He ended up having to run a line along the back of the house and through the garage wall. If you're not looking for it you won't see it. I was very pleased with the professionalism and speed of the work.

I contacted Blue Jay directly based on a referral from a friend. The company was quick to respond and Jay came to provide a quote at a time that was convenient for me. I ended up not needing the service immediately, but then contacted them 3 months later and they honored the original quote. The electricians were a few hours late due to an appointment prior to mine that ran over. This is why I gave them a B on punctuality. Besides that one hiccup, everything else was absolutely outstanding. The outlets, switch, and light were installed to my requirements. The electricians were quick, efficient, and performed high quality work. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them for use by others.

Tracey responded quickly, and set up an appointment within a couple of days for Jay to give the estimate. Jay was prompt, and made you feel like you were talking with your favorite uncle. He had some great suggestions, and ended up steering me to a more practical and less expensive solution to my problem. He's the type of guy you wish you could have on speed-dial for all your home problems. Once I accepted the work-order, Tracey scheduled the electricians as soon as I was available that week. Rich and Zach showed up promptly. They were very polite and efficient in their work. Knowing I was taking off work, they jumped in and were done in less than 30 minutes. They will be my only call for all my future electrical needs!

I requested an appointment with Blue Jay Electrical on a Sunday through Angie's List. The response was almost immediate and an appointment was set up for the morning of the next day. Keon and Zack showed up at the early range of the appointment time. Keon knew just what to check for and found the problem area right away. There was no access to the wiring that was the problem so they had to cut the dry wall to fix the problem. They used hand saws to cut the drywall in order to create the least damage to the drywall, and they cut it in one long rectangle so it could be put back in place and more easily repaired. They rerouted the old wiring with new wiring and all is well. They even cleaned up after themselves, vacuuming and wiping up drywall dust with a damp cloth. Very professional, very nice. A big step above people I have dealt with from other companies.

The owner, Jay, arrived promptly for the initial estimate and was very professional while I described what I wanted. He drew up an estimate for several projects I needed done and let me pick and choose the ones I wanted to get now. The guys that showed up (Rick and Zach, they made sure I used their names in this review) were a little late but ended up finishing the project hours before the estimated time. They took initiative and instead of installing a new light switch for the outdoor floods, they found a switch that we didn't ever use before and used it for the floods, which was a lot nicer than the original plan of installing a new fixture that was out of the way. They also were able to avoid cutting through my sheetrock to install the floods and run the lines up under the siding. They were very respectful of our space and cleaned up after themselves for the indoor work. They didn't arrive with the track they needed to install the track lighting but they came a week later to finish the install. Overall, they did a great job and at a reasonable price. I will definitely be using them again for my next project.

Jay was very responsive, showed up on time and fixed the problem in no time. Then I hired them to fix or replace a light fixture that had not worked in a long time. They were diligent about follow up, and Jay came back to take a look at the transformer to make sure he was able to get the right parts. It turns out that there was an on-off switch on this out of the way box and the problem was solved easily. He didn't charge me for the return visit. They are an exceptional company and I will definitely use them the next time I have any electrical problem in my home.

It went very well. These guys are always very professional. And Rich is excellent at explaining exactly what he's doing, in layman's terms. And he was happy to answer my questions. That means a lot to me. They were in and out in a few hours. The house was left neat, like they were never there (except the work had been done). I would definitely recommend. ..

This company was very easy to communicate with and responded incredibly quickly to email. They sent a team of two people out to perform the work. They were very friendly and professional. The work was done just as quoted, and they took the time to take a look at an additional problem with two outlets on my kitchen island. The two ceiling fans I had installed look great. They provided the floodlight and it was installed perfectly. The electrician was able to angle the motion detector and two heads to hit exactly where we wanted it. Also, they placed it in a great position, so that it is partially hidden under my gutters, so it doesn't stick out.

Blue Jay Electric was very easy to work with from the start. The owner came out and did the estimate, which was straight forward and detailed. I had received several estimates and there was another company that was comparable, but they had a lot of, "but ifs" in the estimate that would have increased the cost considerably. Rich was on time for our appointment and was very knowledgeable. He was able to complete almost everything in one day, but he was unable to access 2 of the outlets because of a large desk that he would need help moving. They arranged to come back another day with another guy to help move the desk and complete the work, all for the original estimate. This ended up being a Saturday, on their own time, because of snow on the day scheduled. He even fixed a light switch I had forgotten to include in the estimate for free. I was very pleased with the work and the professionalism and level of customer service provided by everyone I dealt with at Blue Jay Electric.

I called the morning of the March17, 2014 to find out if I could send Blue Jay Electric a picture of what I wanted done in order to get an estimate, as I wasn't sure how to explain it. I received an immediate call back with a telephone number to send the picture to. By later that morning I had my estimate, On March 18, I approved the estimate and they (Rich and Zack) were at my home by 12:15 p.m. They reattached the wires with the latest snowfall on the ground. This wasn't an urgent job for me (I was willing to wait until after the snow melted). But, I was very appreciative that it was done so quickly and for a reasonable cost.

They were on time. They were quick and they didn’t have to shut and he worked with live wires, meaning we didn’t put the switch on so there was no electricity but every time I do something I shut the circuit breakers because I am afraid of getting electrocuted. They were efficient and were done about two hours and were out of the door. He was very nice gentleman. I thought the price was going to be more.
