Tri State Paving

It went okay. Turns out our driveway is would not look much better if Tri-State had done the work. Their employee and I agreed that the driveway needed more than the deal was for.

I initially had difficulty in getting something scheduled with them. We were going to be on vacation for a week, and I wanted to get everything prepped and ready for them so they could come in at any time during the week (at their convenience) and complete the work. That being said, it has been a very rainy summer so far, so they were quite backed up and were having difficulties with their scheduling. In any case, they did come and complete the job, but towards the end of the week, not the beginning as we had talked about. Sadly, when we got home, the driveway had not dried yet, so out tire mark are now permanently marked in to the driveway, something I was trying to avoid. In addition, there was a hole that needed to be patched. I was told afterwards that they gave me a discount on that, since they had some patch material left over from a previous job. Sadly, there was not enough patch material, so by all accords, it is a crappy patch. It needed more, not entirely happy about that. As for the sealcoating portion though - it looks good. I would have liked a cheaper price, but then again, it's a big driveway (and I really had no idea how big it was). Hence the "pay $150 for the deal, now pay us another $400+ when we are finished". So, I would use them again, but I would also show around more.

purchased the big deal. they were difficult to get a hold of. They did an ok job. however they tried to solicit our neighbors while they were here working. when they were done, they left no business card or any information about when we could drive on it. disappointed with the customer service overall.

We played phone tag for a while. Finally, we got a date put on the calendar but it was supposed to rain that day. They were going to reschedule but we have not heard from them. We decided we no longer want to use this Big Deal.

The communication was fine but I decided that I need more extensive work (e.g. cement).

Tri State did not answer my voice mails by calling the number that I left for them on those voice mails. They left voice mails for me at another number listed on my Angie's List account. A communication problem, yes, but I did not like the fact that they apparently did not listen to or follow the instructions that I left in voice mails to them. After a phone call with Chris at Tri State, we mutually agreed to abandon the project.

I purchased the Big Deal from Tri State Paving to have them pave my driveway, and I sent them an email with my questions and concerns regarding the process. I got a generic response telling me to please call the office. I called the office and left a message with my concerns. It took two business days for me to hear anything, and it was 6 o'clock last night when I was walking out the door. I find this to be completely unacceptable. I told them I was dissatisfied and did not need their services.

I sent them an email and left three voice mails to set up an appointment, and have not heard back. I have decided to have this coupon refunded instead.

They were unable to perform the work.

Gus from tri-state arrived on time and explained what he would be doing. He answered any questions. He was doing our driveway and our neighbors the same day. He got to work quickly and did a great job! I was impressed with the way he applied the sealcoat. I have coated the driveway over the years and believe me he did a much better job than I could do. The coating is a little shiny as other people have stated but it looks great and will dull as it dries. I was very pleased from start to finish and my neighbor feels the same way.

It took a while but when they finally got here they did a very good job. Christopher was very polite and apologetic and I forgive him. I would use them again.

When I purchased the Angie's List coupon, I thought that I was purchasing a service that would make my asphalt driveway look new again. The house is 14 years old now but the driveway seemed to have been fairly well maintained over the years (we moved in 3 years ago). There were miniature cracks throughout the driveway but not very noticeable..until this 'sealing' was done. The sealing makes the driveway appear very shiny, but it does nothing to fill the cracks, only to make them more noticeable. After the treatment was first applied in the Fall, I spoke to the company and expressed how dissatisfied I was and to their credit, they sent someone out to look at the job. The gentleman proceeded to apply some kind of putty to the driveway where the cracks were most noticeable and said that he would come back out in a week to reseal the driveway since the job would have to be redone. Weather intervened -- albeit not for 6+ months but that's another story -- and so the new sealing didn't take place until 10 days ago. Sadly, nothing has changed; if anything, it looks worse than before. We stayed off of the driveway for a week and yet it still shows footprints and tire tracks after using the driveway again. I guess one week isn't long enough for this product, even though it was baking under a hot sun most of the week. While I'm disappointed in the product and wouldn't recommend it if what you are looking for is the 'look' of a new driveway, the attitude of the company is what really bothers me. I would send messages through Angie's List and leave voice mails to find out WHEN we would be scheduled for the resealing and would either not receive a return call or when we did, would be told that we aren't the only ones who are having a scheduling problem. I understand that it was a harsh winter and that getting the driveway resealed would be challenging but it isn't too much to ask for the courtesy of a phone call or email message to let us know that it wouldn't happen this week (or this month), is it? We were told MONTHS ago that our driveway would be resealed; meanwhile, the 'putty smears' that scarred the driveway all winter were visually appalling. When we were FINALLY put on the schedule, I gave them a hard date and was told flat out that the results would be what they would be because they couldn't guarantee anything. I thought that I got a great deal on this but it turned out that I wasted $149 and will probably have to spend several hundred more cleaning up this mistake.

it was a cold day, seal coat remained sticky for several days and did not really soak in, even riding lawnmower tracks are visible and coating is coming off. The job done by E Stanley 2 years ago is in better shape. If I had purchased the extra square footage and sealed under the carport I would have been very upset. Going back to E Stanley. Sometimes you do get what you pay for and sometimes you get a bargain.

They were punctual and did a very good job on the date promised after one delay due to the weather.

I had difficulty contacting provider. All calls are answered by a recording device, promising to get back to me in 2 business days when it takes several more days or not at all. I do not recommend this company

Scheduling was simple. Noticed a few uneven spots but they came back upon request to address it a few days later.

Company did not follow up to schedule appointments. On 3 separate occasions over 3 weeks, they said they would call during the week to schedule a service date and they did not call.

We were pleased with the entire process. When we first purchased the Angie's List deal we were not ready to have the actual work completed. They were very accommodating and worked with us to come up with a date that met our needs. They came out and measured our driveway and told us up front what the additional cost would be since our driveway was larger than what was covered in the Angie's List deal. On the day they were schedule to complete the servicem there was rain and thunderstorms in the area so we agreed to reschedule for the following day. They completed the work as planned. We do not know when (if ever) the driveway was sealed before we purchased the home so they made it a point to put down a heavy layer of the sealant. Overall, we are pleased with the results and would use Tri State in the future.

Timely manner to make contact with me and schedule the appt. Assessed problems and quoted price for complete work. Work was completed promptly and with care of my other property. I was happy with the quality of work.

They came out and generated a quote, their price was higher than competitor's.

I purchased a Big Deal with this company. When they came out to give me an estimate, it was higher than another company had quoted me, so I decided to go another way.

Service was not taken due to the final amount as quoted by the provider. Way beyond my expectation.

They came out to look at the work. They measured our driveway and it was going to end up costing us around $500. We decided to cancel the deal.

Everything went fairly well. They did not return a follow up phone call though.

After I purchased the Big Deal, vendor responded quickly and scheduled the work. Worker came early on scheduled day at my request due other commitments I had. Worker was on time, courteous, and professional. He did an excellent job and cleaned up after he was done. The sealer he applied was not what I was used to; it was oil-based and is very glossy, rather than dull like previous sealers. It has been four months and sealer still looks good. Overall I am very happy with the seal-coat and highly recommend this vendor. I also purchased crack filler for several cracks in the driveway. I have tried this in the past with little success, and this attempt was no better. The worker did a good job of applying the filler, using a roller to force it into the cracks and allowing it to dry before sealing. After a few days, the cracks started reappearing and are now indistinguishable from the way they were before filling. I do not recommend the crack filling, and based on my previous experiences, I wouldn't recommend crack filling in general unless they come up with a more effective way of doing this.
