Remodeling Wizards of Maryland

I needed to replace my single oven with a new double oven. It required remodelling the oven cabinet to fit the new oven and, on the suggestion of our installers, adding a bottom drawer to the cabinet. Once again, I called on the craftsmen, Ted and Rich from Energy Wizard, to do the job. And once again they did not disappoint. They made a not so easy job appear effortless and the result is spectacular. For anyone looking for a home project I would wholeheartedly recommend Energy Wizard and their team of expert craftsmen.

Everything went well - work was done earlier than estimated time frame

The remodel went absolutely beautifully. I could not have asked for a more reliable, considerate, and professional company. Our craftsmen, Rich and Ted, did a wonderful job displaying an expertise and attention to detail that made our project that much more special.

Wonderfully! The next project on our never-ending list is replacement windows and I will certainly call them about that.

The men (Rich and Ted) were on time, friendly and left not a speck of dirt behind. They did a wonderful job and we couldn't be more pleased. They also replaced our patio door last summer and we were thrilled when they came today to do our front door.

This is the second time I've hired Energy Wizard for a major project, and remain completely satisfied with the work they did. To remodel my basement, I was provided with a very reasonable estimate and the work was completed without delay. The work included framing, drywall, floor installation, new windows and doors, and some custom carpentry work. The quality of the work is high, and I'll be using Energy Wizard again for any future projects.

Excellent work. Crew was prompt and courteous and really went the extra mile with the project, including sealing in the framing where it hadn't been done when the house was built and even cleaning the leaves off of the exterior basement stairs where the door went in.

We were so pleased with the entire process. Energy Wizard was able to get the materials ordered before the holiday down time at the factory. Although initial date of installation had to be rescheduled because of rain, the workers arrived at the appointed time and were very professional. The carpentry work is excellent. However, the carpenters overlooked the door bell wire when installing the pilaster and it was stuck behind it. When we pointed it out, they offered to try and find the wire. However, the work was so beautiful and the pilaster so firmly attached that I didn't want to risk them damaging the pilaster in trying to retrieve the wire. We will now need to buy a remote battery operated door bell. Another slight problem was that the surround needed another board to completely cover the previous surround, pediment and caulk line. This was solved by the installation of a PVC board. All in all, we are extremely pleased with the new door. Marirose and John were so helpful in the whole process and we appreciated Marirose's input regarding design ideas. Our foyer is now filled with light and we enjoy seeing the door whenever we pass by.

The complete process was smooth and pleasant. John took the time to explain the process from beginning to completion, including manufacturer, materials and warranty. There was no high pressure to sign a contract. John respected that I was in the process of obtaining multiple quotes. He gave me enough information to make an informed decision. Energy Wizard's price was the best and produced a beautiful finished product to help maintain my townhouse.

We had an excellent experience using Energy Wizard. The owners (John & Mary--husband & wife team) came out to our house to go over our options and financing. We could preview exactly how the doors would look via software on his laptop. We had previously gotten a door catalog from them at the Home & Garden show, to go through, before their visit. John took measurements and in a few weeks they had the doors installed in 2 days. The installer, Rich, did a top-notch job. Showed up on time and cleaned up everything.

We have used Energy Wizard for window replacement and now a new front door. They are a pleasure to work with, their install folks are true professionals and the quality of the work is unparalleled. Please check them out for your next remodeling job and I know you will be as pleased as we are.

John and his team did a fantastic job! In the beginning, John and Marirose came to our house and made us feel like we were family. They certainly treated us like family throughout the entire process. They communicated with me every step of the way. It was a three day project that they completed professionally and fast. The two men who installed the doors were very kind, helpful and really went beyond what I thought they were going to do. They made sure that the house was cleaned, put back into order, and that all the small cosmetics looked correct to the rest of the house. I really couldn't be any happier! I am already looking forward to working with them on other projects.

I thought the task would require at least 2 days but the job was done by 5pm. Considering they started around 9am pretty speedy for a job that required care & precision. Old doors were carefully removed by scoring around the frame with a tool that looked like a box cutter and then the old frames were pried off with a crowbar. I thought it best to stay out of the way as much as possible and only checked up on them a few times to check on progress. They had to work in a relatively small space since this was for a condominium and not a detached house. They did the cutting outside and had to haul the doors up one flight of stairs to a second floor condo. At the end of the day the owner of the company called to check and make sure all went well. I only wish I had more jobs for them to do. It's so rare to be 100% satisfied these days with any remodels, upgrades, etc.

John Capozzi is great to work with. I can have genuine discussions regarding the design, materials, etc. without feeling that he is pushing. The team showed up on time ready to work. It was clear that the team had performed these services in the past, as they identified the tasks and developed an action plan. They clearly communicated what to expect and the steps to be taken. Demo and relocation of cabinets took less time than anticipated. The counter top template process took place as scheduled. Installation of the new counter top and the related repair work also took place as scheduled. Once the counter was installed, Ted returned to complete wall patching, backsplash installation, and related plumbing. The whole process was incredibly pain free. The counter top looks beautiful, but we were beyond ecstatic about the tile work. Ted did the tile work. I was impressed by his organization and care for detail. He took the time to carefully explain the pattern options as well as specific trim options. The work was done carefully, but not slow. The overall result is beautiful and we are very proud. As I am responsible for removal of the wallpaper and further painting, Ted took the time to explain the proper process for patching the walls and filling holes. For me it was like having family or friends doing the work. The team as a whole was not intrusive, but set about their business efficiently and professionally. We used Energy Wizards for a new roof originally. That experience was so positive that we gave them a shot at the kitchen. Pricing, availability, and quality of work makes using them for projects worry free. We are planning to have the kitchen floor replaced and will certainly use Energy Wizards for that project. This experience was positive enough that I recommended them to a co-worker.

Everything was wonderful. I have used Energy Wizard for 4 jobs so far and given them 4 referrals. The quality of the product and employees is premium. They show up on time, complete work on time, respond to questions, send someone out for repairs quickly. Our new door looks beautiful and has reduced drafts and improved interior temperature. The new door also helps with outdoor noise levels. The installers don't smoke and cleaned up the full job site before they left. Before my first experience with Energy Wizard (that order was for 3 windows and 2 doors) I interviewed a total of 7 companies. There was no high pressure sales, John took the time to explain the product quality differences. There was also no tier pricing games. For example some window companies, give you a price if you order today, a price if you order next week, a price if you order next month, a sale price, a bonus price, a financing promotion price etc. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Excellent!! Energy Wizard installed our front door and screen door several years ago. The quality of our door and their service has been nothing short of outstanding. Anytime we have called them, they have been quickly responsive, showed up when scheduled and fixed the problem promptly. We are very pleased with how they back up their products!

I'm delighted with all the work Energy Wizard did. Marirose's design expertise was invaluable and John's construction teams were totally professional, polite, did top-quality work, cleaned up every day, worked through miserably hot weather, and kept at it until every detail was done to my satisfaction. They also disposed of all the old materials (including recycling what could be recycled). Most of the materials were special order due to the colors we wanted and the Capozzis made sure all the different suppliers' materials were compatible. I highly recommend Energy Wizard -- and I'm a perfectionist.
