Remodeling Wizards of Maryland

It never happened. The company charged $250 to come out and provide a design and estimate and all I received was the estimate. I asked for the design and the breakdown of the estimate and was told that they needed to send HVAC and someone else to the house to get that level of detail. For $250 I expected at a minimum a layout of the space and their planned work with cost estimates associated (with/without a wet bar, for example). I would have used them had they been able to provide that, but since it was pulling teeth to get a response from them and then to be told that I needed to have them get two others to look through my space to provide the broken down estimate I realized these guys' business model is not one I wanted to work with. I'd been trying to get this project priced out since I bought the house last May, no success. Do NOT pay the $250 if you expect to get a true design and estimate, they send a "buddy" who walks through and measures then after about 2 weeks and a request for an update they send you a rough estimate.

We’ve used Remodeling Wizards in the past and have always had a great experience. This time was no exception and we were very pleased with our new bathrooms and deck!!

We transformed a tired old section of our house into something polished to perfection. Jim was incredibly friendly and always kept us involved every step of the way, making sure we understood decisions that were underway and the different ways to solve problems that popped up. He's clearly devoted to getting the best possible outcome and didn't cut corners. The project did run well past the original time estimate, and it was a little frustrating that Jim had to work elsewhere on a couple of the days a chunk of our house was still a work in progress. But most of the delay was because it took longer than expected to make sure the work was done right, and we have no complaints about the outcome.

They did a great job. The owners were very helpful in helping us choose the styles and colors of the doors and the installation was skillfully done. The doors are of excellent quality.

We were extremely pleased with our entire experience with Energy Wizard. Sonja Thurston, the Sales Manager, used a computer program to show us how our door would look based on the different options that were available. She very personable, low key and knowledgeable. The owner, John Capozzi, double checked all the measurements and gave us a detailed overview of how the process would work. On the day of the installation, the project manager, Rick, came to the house and introduced himself and advised that he was in charge in case we needed anything. We were very happy with our remodeled door. A minor adjusted was needed, so I reached out to Rick and the situation was resolved immediately.

Great work and looks awesome! They did the work in a timely fashion and even when I had to leave my dog home with the contractors for a little bit, they took care of her! Would definitely recommend!

We were so happy with the work that Energy Wizard performed installing a new front door and storm door, we decided to contact them when we needed to replace our aging roof. John and Marirose Capozzi came to our house and showed us sample colors and materials and fully explained the quality of all of the materials, the process that would be used to complete the work, how long it would take, and how they would clean up the property after the wok was completed. They showed up on time, quickly and efficiently removed the old shingles, removed a non-working attic vent, replaced a couple of deteriorated roofing boards, installed new underlayment and shingles, and cleaned up the property upon completion, as promised. A neighbor who watched the work was so impressed by the workmanship he saw, hired Energy Wizard with our recommendation. Their work obviously speaks for itself!

We are very pleased with the results. Energy Wizard's team did a great job. The tile work came out perfect and John, the owner, was very helpful through the whole project. We would highly recommend them!

Contractor was professional. Explained clearly the installation process and what to expect. They removed and disposed of the old windows and cleaned up after themselves. They even offered to help me remove any curtains that i had issues reaching.

At every step I was impressed by the care taken by each member of the Energy Wizard team. Jim and Anthony were very skilled and professional in providing carpentry work and installing my new front and storm doors. They made sure I was happy with the product and their work. I would call Energy Wizard again to do any contracting work. They were great!

Great work Attention to detail. Someone is working everyday and not on 2 off 1, etc. The owners periodically drop in the check on the work.

WOW! It is so great to have found Energy Wizards (AKA John and MariRose). Over the last few years, that have put on a new roof, renovated the kitchen, and now, put in new windows and sliding glass doors for my hone. I am blessed. John and MariRose, the owners, are incredible people. They are profession, caring and will not rest until everything is perfect. From the very beginning, I saw a commitment to educating me on the possible repairs needed. They also provided unasked for reassurance by presenting Better Business Bureau ratings, Maryland Home Builder's association membership and references. The quality of the work has been excellent. When things are not perfect (I have never had a project with anyone that was), they immediately take your concerns seriously and correct the problem. They work with any subcontractors and demand quality. and the cost? Less than most other providers including those who work without licenses. I strongly endorse Energy Wizards to you, both because quality work and professionalism should be recognized and because you will appreciate the recommendation when the work is done. We called John C at Energy Wizard. He explained types of shingles, roofing process, and helped us decide what we needed. His 5 man roofing crew were on time, hard working, flexible about working around weather, and left us with a beautiful new roof and cleaned up surroundings. New roof

Went very wel- Have used this company once before, very confident in their professionalism and workmanship. Job was done as designed , workman ship excellent! In addition , if you have to call them with any questions they respond right away. Very important. I would highly recommend them.

Excellent contractor! Very responsive to my Angie's List inquiry; good on-site visit for an initial estimate, and then a subsequent on-site visit (to confirm all measurements, options, and sign the final contract) prior to placing the order with the manufacturer. When the door was delivered, the installation crew showed up (on time) the next day, removed the old door/sidelights/transom, installed the new door/sidelights/transom, cleaned up, and were completed in two hours less than their estimate. Installation was done superbly, with a clear attention to details. Great phone contact throughout the process, to keep me informed of processing/delivery estimates/post-installation followup. Would definitely recommend this firm.

They did such an excellent job that I continued to hire them through the remodeling of the entire house since then. They finished the last major project this year. During this time period, they did major demo and remodeling work to two second floor bedrooms, two first floor rooms, a kitchen, and two stairwells. They installed new doors to the front/rear and within the house. Their employees arrived early, did excellent work, and were professional. They respectfully answered my questions and educated me regarding the work as I tried to learn and understand as much as I could. John and/or Marirose Capozzi, the owners of the company, met with me before each project and explained all of the issues involved in each stage of the remodeling. Their knowledge and suggestions enabled me to make an informed decision regarding what would look or work best for each part of the house. I hired three companies they worked with regarding my purchase of kitchen cabinets, kitchen tiles, and carpeting. All three were excellent and professional and ensured the remodeling went smoothly. I cannot emphasize. . . how strongly. . . I recommend them. . . for any of your large or small remodeling projects. If you need work done to your house. . . hire Energy Wizard!

John, Rich, Leo, Anthony, Kenny and everyone else on the team did a fantastic job! They came every day they said they would (not something other vendors do) and worked to be sure our basement turned out exactly as we wanted. They met every question or request eagerly and professionally. We can’t recommend them highly enough.

Disappointing. After seeing lots of great reviews this seemed like a company to call for an estimate, which I did. Gentleman on the phone was very friendly until it became apparent their policy was one of those "both homeowners must be present" type of deals, and I was only calling for an ESTIMATE. When I explained I am the decision-maker and wouldn't be signing anything on the day of estimate, suddenly Mr. Friendly became not-so-nice, and it was clear moving forward would be a hassle. His end to the call was "good luck" followed by a hang-up, which borders on offensive. As the individual who handles EVERY ONE of our home repairs and improvements, I am certain this is not the type of business I'd want to deal with.

My wife and I attended a "Home Show," in Upper Marlboro." We were greeted Professionally by the Owners of "Energy Wizard.(EW)" They were positioned perfectly at this show, just after we entered. Due to our need and desire to have needed work, finding them made it very convenient. We spoke of our need, were shown and provided various ideas and selections. A meeting was set up at our residence to discuss more options. From that meeting my wife and I contracted with EW for the complete work of our front door. The professionalism of the "Entire Staff,' of EW was outstanding. Precise explanations of the products, workmanship and appointments were consistent and exceptional. We were very impressed on how equipped the Technicians were to handle any challenges or encounters to install the frame and doors flawlessly. We certainly enjoy our brand new front door entrance and the Service provided by EW. We would highly recommend EW.

All work was performed following the schedule that was laid out at the beginning of the project--on time and following the costs that were agreed upon at the start. The quality of the workmanship was very good. All of my questions (via phone, e-mail, or text) were addressed and answered almost immediately. These guys truly understand the concept of 'customer service'!
