Our experience with John from the time we meet at a local home show has been fantastic. Johns knowledge of products, his professionalism and genuine sincerity are hands down above the competition. We hired Johns company to install a front door and the estimate to delivery and install was flawless. The men John has working for him are true professionals, they were courteous friendly and finished on time without a mess. I would truly recommend Energy Wizard for any home improvement project. My initial meeting with John, was very pleasant. I actually knew what I wanted, as far as style. But wanted to make sure I was getting a very high quality door. He took me through my options and we arrived at the right door for the right price. The turnaround time was good. A few weeks. On the day of installation , the two men who came out to intall the door were extremely professional. They were respectful of my home, and it was clear that Danny is a highly skilled finish carpenter, so I was relieved to know that my outside and inside trim etc would be handled perfectly. And it was. Everything was installed efficiently, and perfectly. An exact, perfect fit. He even fabricated from some flooring scraps I had to make sure the new transition looked absolutely seemless. And it does. He and his assistant Josh, were perfect. After reading this review , I realize I have used the word perfect several times. That's because they were !!!

Energy Wizard did a wonderful job! My home looks like a showcase for Better Home and Gardens. I am sending pictures to all my friends and family to show off my beautiful kitchen. The new storm doors make the outside of my home look elegant. Energy Wizard employees were punctual, responsive and professional. All of the materials used are high quality and the work performed is top notch. I am very pleased with the finished product and I would highly recommend Energy Wizard for your next home improvement project.

Energy Wizard has performed two jobs for us. They installed a new front door. The door is beautiful and the workers couldn't have been nicer or more professional. Neighbors liked our door so much they inquired where we purchased it and we referred them to Energy Wizard. The neighbors also bought a front door from Energy Wizard. The second job was replacing a very large (36 square feet) picture window. We again used Energy Wizard. Even though we had a different crew for the second job they were, again, very prompt and professional. They did a beautiful job.

They made sure everything fit properly. Shortly after installation, the weather stripping on the back door started peeling off and he was prompt in fixing it. I’ve had no other issues with the doors and they keep the house warm.

I loved it. They were very accommodating to my schedule and the technicians were professional and friendly. The service was great even when they came out again to do a minor adjustment. They customized the order to meet our needs including privacy glass, color, and a storm door. They were willing to work with us on what we wanted. It wasn’t inexpensive, but was worth the investment.

It went absolutely perfectly-met with owners to discuss design and selection, our installation proceeded on schedule, the installers were true craftsman and very meticulous; old door and construction materials were removed and job site left spotless. A very pleasant and stress free experience Since installation, we frequently get compliments on how the new door enhances the curb appeal of our home. Highly recommend!

They did an excellent job! I am very happy with how the door looks! They had been at a senior expo back in 2013 and I liked them a lot and was able to look over their product as well which I also liked. I went back to the expo in 2014 and they were there again and they had more products so after the great experience the first time, it was a logical decision to use them again. They had also measured the doors back in 2013 just so I could get an idea of what it may cost in the future. They arrived on time and were very professional. The door actually arrived the day before they were to arrive so it was waiting for them on installation day. They did everything as promised, kept me informed throughout, and most importantly they did a great job! I recommend them highly.

The owner came out the same day we called to schedule. The crew was very polite and cleaned up well. The doors are great. There was a problem with the seal on one of the doors, but they came out and sealed it properly. We had a problem with a window and they advised us to contact a glass block company, which saved us money.

Scheduling was tremendously easy and they were accommodating to our schedule. John Capozzi and the installers were very professional, pleasant, and knowledgeable. They even did some extra work. They stand behind their product and you don’t have to go to the distributor or manufacturer. If there’s a problem, they will fix it promptly. The door is weather tight and energy efficient. We’ve referred one of neighbors to them and they were impressed as well.

We were told the door would probably not be installed till the first week of Dec. About 3- 4 weeks. Turns out that John called earlier than that and said we could have it done the week before Thanksgiving. Then he called back and had to revise to early in the week of Thanksgiving. The weather turned against us, and again we had to push the date to the Wed before Thanksgiving. Then, the guy who does the installations for them, Danny, lost someone close to him. John offered a different installer for that day, but iterated that Danny would be his first choice. We pushed the date again to Wed Dec 3rd. The weather was horrible on that Tue, but Wed seemed to be OK. Thank goodness for Wed - it was damp and a little chilly, but certainly good enough to do the installation. Mind you, through all these delays, though we were disappointed each time, it was a matter of circumstance. And John was a pleasure to work with through those delayed days. And really, we were told first week of Dec. That's what it turned out to be. Finally, this morning, the door was delivered by carrier about 8:45 AM. They left it in my garage as it was still damp outside. Danny and Josh showed up about 9:45 and set to work immediately. They prepared the foyer for the upcoming mess - which actually never got too messy. As Danny measured and marked and cut and everything else he needed to do, Josh was busy cleaning up as they worked and prepping things that Danny needed. They were a well coordinated team. I'm sure Josh is learning a heck of a lot working with Danny. Both were very pleasant and each has a good sense of humor. Danny was thorough and meticulous. I felt as though he was doing this job as if he were doing it for himself. He carefully removed the inside trim, telling me that he didn't intend to use it, but just in case I wanted it put back, he wanted it to be intact. We ended up not using it. A few years ago we had a new floor installed. The floor had been raised a bit so we've had to use a really thin mat. Without being asked (and truthfully I wouldn't even have thought of it), Danny raised the base of the door enough so that a normal mat could be placed there. It was an extra step that required a separate piece of molding. He pointed it out to me after the job was done - Thanks Danny! The guys replaced the doorbell for us as well as replaced the handle to our garage door to the kitchen so the keys to the front door would match that door. Besides all the professional touches - which Danny explained to me comes from a certification earned from Provia by installers a mandatory once every two years - Danny did a couple of personal touches. One example is what he did for the switch plate in the foyer - right next to the door trim. It was a ceramic switch plate we purchased at a craft show a few years ago, It didn't quite fit after the new trim was put on - about an eighth of an inch too wide. We were going to change it out for something that would fit. Danny took out some tool and trimmed the switch plate an eighth of an inch to make it fit. Another thing he did - we are Jewish and have a Mezuzah on the door jamb. I forgot to remove it before they arrived. He carefully took if down and when they were done, he carefully nailed it back into place. Danny - you may not know what it means, but you are a Mench. It means a really good person. They started before 10 AM and didn't leave till a bit after 5 PM. Everything was swept and cleaned. Energy Wizard - be proud of your key man Danny (and his sidekick Josh). Not only do they do a tremendous job, but they are great PR for your company. I am a retired Maryland Home Improvement Contractor so I have very high standards, so high in fact that many contractors can't meet them because of time and money constraints. My wife and I had interviewed several companies offering to install a ProVia door, a project I didn't have the time to take on myself this year. John's price was so much lower, probably because there was no salesman's commission built into the price, that we were able to upgrade to a better door with more features and still save a lot of money compared to the other quotes. The door arrived while I was on an extended trip and with some trepidation I told my wife to go ahead and have the door installed while I was out of town. I wanted to be there while the door was being installed to make sure nothing was overlooked. I needn't have worried. Danny and his helper did the same high quality, professional job I would have done had I installed the door myself. In fact, they did a much better job than I could have done because Danny installs these doors every day and I only installed doors infrequently as a contractor. Even though the new door was taller and wider than the original door, you couldn't tell the difference when the job was completed, except for the amazing new door, that is. To tell the truth, Danny went way above and beyond the call of duty. In addition to having to replace all the interior and exterior trim, and tearing out back to the studs, without damaging the walls or exterior vinyl siding he also had to remove a deck board then match and replace it because it had originally been badly cut when the original replacement door was installed and this irregularity showed when the new door went in. He also discovered a bee's nest and some rotten trim below the surface of the deck which he just went ahead and took care of even though the new deck board would have covered this up and it would not be noticeable. One final note. The exterior trim around the door was always going to be an issue. A molded, foam product called Fypon which mimics decorative colonial trim surrounded the old door. We knew this trim would not fit the new wider, taller door so I had asked John to factor in replacing it with a flat composite trim that I could just overlay with new Fypon trim upon my return. Danny very carefully removed the old Fypon in such a way that I could potentially rip it down and reuse it which I attempted to do. Saving the old Fypon trim turned out to be very fortunate because when I went online I could not find a cap trim that would fit the space but because Danny saved the old trim I was able to reuse the top cap by ripping it down to size along the bottom edge. I wasn't so lucky with the side trim. Once ripped to size it really didn't look good enough to be placed next to such a fantastic looking door so I ended up ordering a new pair of side trim that are almost an exact fit. This new Fypon trim installed very easily over the composite trim which Danny installed to make sure the house didn't look torn up for the two months I was out of town. When It comes to home improvement projects I mostly do them myself but if I ever had the need to hire a contractor for a future home improvement project I would not hesitate to contact John at Energy Wizard. They are the best company I have ever dealt with in my 20 plus years as a home improvement contractor and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to family, friends and former clients who, by the way, still contact me occasionally looking for referrals for their home improvement projects.

The crew arrived on time and worked very efficiently to install the door. They finished at the estimated time. They were extremely pleasant and friendly while doing their job even though it was the coldest November day in many years! The clean-up was perfect, with no trash left behind. The crew (who turned out to be related to each other) were long-time employees of Energy Wizard and could not say enough nice things about the company. It was a great experience working with this customer oriented company.

Energy Wizard has the best price for the quality of door that they sold me. The experience began with our introduction to the company at a home show. They came for their home visit appointment on time. They did not use high pressure sales tactics but calmly laid out their suggestions for our improved door. They listened and showed me different door styles and discussed the features. I was sold by their genuine nature and personalities. When they left, I felt as if we were friends. Next, a few weeks later, they called to set up our installation appointment. They were brief and cordial. Two weeks later, their installers came to install the door. The two gentlemen that arrived on time were very courteous, friendly, and professional. Within 2 hours, they had installed the door, sealed, caulked, and vinyl capped the wood trim. I love it since I now have a beautiful maintenance free door to enhance the appearance of my home.

The door looks wonderful from the inside and outside. This has made a huge difference in the warm of our family room. They did a great job with the installation and they were very nice. They were punctual, efficient, finished in a timely manner, and cleaned up after themselves. They were incredibly friendly yet professional.

It turned out great! We were very happy. I had to pay additional 400$ for the brown outer coloring. They were good to work with and they stick to the cost of what they said. They were flexible on working with us and putting it in. They will come again to do my deck and porch. They also offered to take off the alarm on the old door and re-install it which was very helpful. It saved us a lot of troubles as well as cost. When they put in, it fell off and didn't worked but they came back right away to re-installed it. I thought that was a very good service. The only thing I didn't like is having to pay additional 400$ to have the brown on the exterior.

They replaced my patio door. Everything went better than I expected. When they came out to measure and explain what kind of door would be installed, I couldn't believe how much better it was constructed than what I had for over 25 years. When they came to replace the door, they discovered rotten wood under the old door. For a minimal charge, they replaced the wood. I couldn't have asked for a better installation. It really looks good, both the quality of the door and the installation.

Energy Wizard was very prompt in responding to our big deal purchase of a replacement sliding glass door. John came to our house and gave us a thorough explanation of the product, took measurements, and answered all of our questions. The new door arrived and was installed about a month and a half after our initial visit. The installation went very smoothly. The installer arrived just when he said he would and did an excellent job. We are very pleased with the door.

The installers were very professional the day our front door was to be installed. They noticed a very, very small dent on the door frame, that I could not even see, and with that they called John and told him right away and John ordered a new door. They installed the door with the almost invisible dent, so that when the new door would arrive, they would just remove and replace. I was so impressed because I would have never seen the dent in the first place. I even stated, when they showed me, that it was not a big deal, however, they said we believe in customer service and you pay for a new door, you'll get a new door with nothing wrong with it! John immediately called us to let us know a new door was on order!. The door looks amazing and lets in so much light with the big oval etched glass! The professionalism with Energy Wizard and the installers is so much more than we expected! Thanks!

I found the workers friendly and efficient. They were punctual and performed quality work. I was especially impressed with the caulk lines on the finished doors. They cleaned up as if they were never there and left behind a beautifully finished door.

It turned out wonderful. The only negative I could say was he forgot to lock the downstairs door when he left but no harm was done. He had to finish it up on another day because it started raining but they secured the doors so that rain wouldn’t go in and we were safe in the house. They came back the next day and finish the trim inside and out. Other than leaving the door wide open downstairs, everything else went just fine.

I had 22 windows and 5 exterior doors replaced in 2012 with high efficiency units. One of the windows failed over the winter and started fogging up (this is a non-operating fixed unit in the atrium 14' off the floor). Earlier this year, I called the general contractor, John Capozzi and explained the problem because the windows have a lifetime warranty. John then called the manufacture, Thermal Industries in Baltimore to request a replacement. A few weeks later Thermal Industries sends one man with the replacement window thinking it would be a 5 minute job. When the installer realized he couldn't touch the window even from the second floor balcony, he started mumbling about the need to build a scaffold and said he would be in touch. Two months later, no calls, so I call Thermal Industries looking for answers and was told the roof deck was rotten and I would have to repair it first. News to me since I had the roof replaced the previous year and the contractor never mentioned a roof deck issue. I relayed that info to Mr Capozzi, he then put 4 installers on the job and the window was replaced in 1.5 hours from a ladder off the second floor and one person outside standing on the roof. 11/22/2013 update: Energy Wizard communicated the above information to Sonja Thurston, the regional sales manager for Thermal Industries, and as a result, I was invited to a luncheon meeting. Sonja was truly concerned and told me that Thermal Industries values every customer and stands behind their warranties. Unfortunately, one long term employee provided bad information about the condition of the roof causing a delay in service. I took that at face value and appreciate Thermal Industries efforts to make it right. I am now working with Energy Wizard and Thermal Industries on plans to enclose my screened-in porch to make it a 3 or 4 seasons room. I am also contemplating using Thermal Industries windows in one of my rental properties. All of these projects I will entrust to Energy Wizard.

It went great! They started Thursday morning and we're finished with the job by Saturday. The quality and craftsmanship was amazing, the detailed work around the windows is exceptional. The roof look beautiful with the new siding. They were very professional, left the yard clean, like they were never here. Extremely hard workers.
