Lost a customer because I received no return call. I'd bet I would have heard back promptly if I'd called shopping for a new heat pump, but I called for a smaller job. When I call a business, I expect a return call within 24 hours, especially after I initially call during business hours. Please do not come back and tell me that all of your employees are sick or had a death in their families. This is not a small company. We were very pleased with the service from start to finish. The estimate was done by Will who was really nice, knowledgable and gave us options in different price ranges. He was practical in his recommendations and responses to our questions. The men who performed the installation we incredibly efficient and did a great job. They arrived as scheduled, finish within a few hours and there were no surprises. Everything is in working order 2 weeks in. This will be our go to company for this kind of work. Would highly recommend them.

Where to begin...? -The visit with William(Salesman) went well. He was punctual, courteous and knowledgeable about the systems that we were looking at. (We were replacing a 14-15 years old Carrier system that constantly had its share of problems.) We called William a few days later and made a few changes and settled on the system that was installed. -The installation team showed up on time and worked well to get the system installed. After the installation team left, though...I felt that the house was getting warmer; not cooler. I checked the thermostat and sure enough it was set on 74; yet the temperature was indicating 75. I waited a bit and the temp continued to rise a few degrees and so I called the Bay Breeze office. The installation team was just arriving back at the office and they were dispatched back to our house. Not sure what was done, however it did begin to cool to the temperature that we had it set on. The next day after I arrived in the house, I felt that it was a bit humid. I checked the temperature and it was indicating what it was supposed to. So-I just went about my business. The following day I arrived home to find the house with the same "muggy" feeling, however the temperature was above what we it set on. So, I called Bay Breeze and someone was out relatively quickly. Some adjustment was made and everything appeared fine until the next day when...you guessed it...deja vu. Ryan, the owner came out this time with the tech team and bypassed a couple things to see if they could isolate what the issue was. This went on for several more days to a week. Finally, Ryan decided to replace the Air Handler with a new unit. A "new installation" was completed and everything has been running just fine since then. Fortunately for us-during that time the outside temperatures were cooler and so it never got too uncomfortable. -I will say this: During this ENTIRE PROCESS-BAY BREEZE HEATING and COOLING was very responsive and EVERY time we called-they were there in a timely fashion. Ryan was very sensitive to our concerns and continued to show up every time the technicians came out. That says a lot to me. That shows that he cares for his "team" as much as he cares about the customer. Rather than have his "team" be placed in what could possibly be an "uncomfortable environment," he chose to show up and deal with it himself. Top notch integrity! I understood that this was not a problem that Bay Breeze had created; it was a faulty unit from the manufacturer. -Long story short-there was some sort of defect with the Air Handler. Rather than continue to diagnose and "fix" the problem-Bay Breeze decided to replace the Air Handler with another new one. Additionally-in an effort to ensure that our trust in the Trane brand does not waver-Ryan gave us a very generous discount on the extended warranty and provided an upgraded thermostat. This proves that he is willing to stand behind not only his company, but the product that his company is installing. Way to go Bay Breeze!

Bay Breeze personnel were all extremely qualified, informative and knowledgeable. Their salesman was the only one who arrived with a computer and portable printer, which resulted in clear, printed proposals of the various heaters and AC units we were interested in along with all model numbers and manufacturer information and pictures for each option. The installers arrived when expected, and immediately spread tarps from our front door to the upstairs room leading to the pull down ladder into the attic. They also arrived with all special fabricated pieces as well as the HVAC units ordered. The installers had been working as a team for over 20 years: they worked together to remove the old furnace from the attic and bring in the new unit, and similarly for replacement of the outside AC exchanger. They then worked separately to install the two, finishing early with all testing completed and the new thermostat installed. They left only after carefully removing the tarps covering the floors and stairs and policing the inside and outside areas. They left the house as they found it.

I came home from work around lunchtime and my house was stifling. I called a couple places and was given appointments for Friday and Monday. Then I stumbled upon Bay Breeze's information and gave them a call as a last ditch effort. Not only was the person who answered the phone very personable and friendly but she also really seemed to want to make me fit into their schedule. She said they might not be able to get to me until nighttime but that they definitely would. I told her that was perfect because I would be around all day anyway. It was 100° day so I was willing to basically do anything at this point. I got a phone call about an hour and a half after I called and they were already on their way. The person who came was prompt and very friendly and got right to work. he found the issue immediately and fixed it then went outside into the heat to make sure my outdoor unit was running well also. He did an inspection of both units to make sure there was nothing that he had missed or that was wrong. Overall, this company turned an overwhelming experience into something that was not so terrible after all. From the professionalism I received upon my first phone call to the technician's helpfulness and thorough job, it really was as pleasant experience as it could be considering the circumstances. I will definitely be using them in the future and recommending them to everybody I know.

None better! Bay Breeze is no doubt the best experience we've ever had with a contractor of any kind. The people really care; they're determined to do a good job and have a happy and satisfied customer. This company and their employees are one of a kind. We were in contact with our salesperson, the installers, the office staff, and the owner throughout our install and follow-ups and every person was courteous, professional, friendly, and knew their job. We had a somewhat challenging situation in our attic for one of the AC units, and although other contractors looked at it skeptically and unsure, Bay Breeze was not afraid. The took photos and documented the area and made sure everything was going to fit and work properly. They did their research, they took measurements, they checked and checked again. They know how to do a job right, and they're not afraid of hard work or a challenging situation! After installation, the downstairs unit appeared to have a leak, which they discovered themselves. They came back for troubleshooting and immediately found the problem and resolved it. Every time our salesperson, the owner, or the technicians visited our home they were always RIGHT on time. Never a hassle or a problem. Everyone was respectful of our home, inside and out. Bay Breeze is top-notch all the way, the best of the best.

I had made a Friday morning appointment with William (right on time), Bay Breeze's sales representative, and as I had some familiarity with Trane heat pumps, I asked him to cost out the most efficient of the Trane heat pumps. The cost was considerably beyond our budget and he asked us where we wanted to be costwise. With his computer software he easily put together a system that was right where we wanted to be cost wise. He then took a look at the existing heat pump, took a lot of notes and took pictures and measurments. He made the comment that there were some flaws in our duct work and Bay Breeze could fix those. On his computer he put together a detailed proposal and said to let him know if we wanted to go ahead and there was absolutely no pressure on his part. A couple of weeks later I informed William that we wished to proceed. Some days later Ryan the owner of Bay Breeze called and said that he needed to take additional measurements because they needed to fabricate some pieces in their shop. Ryan was right on time and quickly obtained the measurements. I had told Ryan that I wanted to have the outside heat pump unit disconnected before the installation so that landscapers could regrade low spots around the old outside unit. Ryan said he would be happy to work with me on this scheduling. The day before the heat pump installation a technician arrived promptly at 8AM disconnected the old unit and placed it out of the landscapers' work area. With regard to the actual installation it could not have gone smoother. The two technicians who performed the work had 30 and 31 years of experience and they will certainly go into the Heating and Air Conditioning Hall of Fame on the first ballot. They were courteous, respectful. informative, and ready to answer any questions. They were true professionals. In summing up, I have to say that I was thankful for how accessible Ryan the owner and president was. He has an equable temperment that made this whole experience stress free. This is a well-managed company and the message of "Value Our Customers" seems to be resonating from every Bay Breeze employee.

We just bought our house and moved in during yet another cold snap. The forced air heating system was running all the time and was blowing cold air. I called Bay Breeze on a Saturday and made an appointment for the next Monday, which turned out to be a snow day. They called to cancel and rescheduled for first thing Tuesday. The tech, RJ, fixed the problem (a faulty sequencer) and took the time to explain the way the system works, which I really appreciated. As a first time homeowner, I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the inner workings of this house. I followed him around and he was more than happy to answer all my questions and show me the different components of the heat pump. Despite the scheduling issues, I was really happy with Bay Breeze and RJ. It seemed like I paid a lot for the service, but is really have no basis for comparison to know how much these things typically cost.

It went really well. Kevin arrived to our house within two hours of our first call on a Saturday morning. We'd had a competitor out two nights before who initially misdiagnosed the problem, then said he couldn't guarantee a fix. Kevin quickly identified the problem, was able to tell us for sure that it was the issue, then quickly devised a fix using zip ties that will theoretically save us from having to replace a costly part indefinitely. Just in case, he did quote us the cost of replacing the part (aquastat), and his quote was $200 less than the other technician's quote. Kevin was courteous, explained the problem clearly and was so helpful in showing us what we could do to deal with the issue ourselves if it recurs. The entire appointment was complete in less than an hour and the problem has been solved ever since. We will definitely contact Bay Breeze again if we have heating or ac issues in the future.
Description of Work: Our furnace boiler was intermittently failing to turn on. Rather than replacing a very costly component, Kevin repaired a single connection solving the problem and saving us a lot of money.

Called the company and received detailed information regarding the services I needed. We made an appointment for a 8-9 am window a couple of days later. The day before the company called to confirm and to let us know that they might be late a little bit because of the bad weather (more snow). The morning of the appointment the technician called and said he would be there around 9am. Great communications. When he arrived he gave me an overview of what he was going to do and asked if there were any issues with our units. He completed his tasks in a very timely manner with good news as well for us, no problems. He then went over what I should do in the future to keep the units in top working condition. I cannot recommend this company strongly enough. Everything they say about wanting the customer to be happy is true. They even schedule a walk through two weeks after a new system is installed, to find out if customers have any questions or issues. Outstanding! All workers from Bay Breeze have been prompt, courteous, and have gone the extra mile to keep my house clean, covering my carpet prior to starting work, taking off boots, etc. My new system keeps the house warmer and more evenly heated than the old one did. And it is so quiet that I rarely notice it is running. Unlike my old system, I never notice when it goes on and off. The new system was not cheap, but I did not expect a Trane system to be. That being said, Bay Breeze beat the estimates of the other Trane dealers I had talked to. So I consider the 'A' I gave them on price to be well-earned. Bay Breeze has gone the extra mile three times for me already: 1. I, not Bay breeze, had insisted on going with a NEST thermostat, in spite of my having heard of customers with heat pumps getting mixed results. When my thermostat began functioning strangely on the first day, Bay Breeze agreed to come out the next day - a Saturday - and exchange the NEST thermostat for a Honeywell WiFi thermostat which worked much better. They did not charge me for this. 2. My new Trane humidifier drained into my sump, not the sewer, as there is no sewer connection close to the air handler. And my sump pump is so powerful that the discharge was unexpectedly damaging my yard. I noticed this about two weeks after the installation. When I notified Ryan, the owner of Bay Breeze, he offered to exchange my humidifier for an Aprilaire model that uses much less water and does not require a drain. This, too, was done at no charge to me. 3. I mentioned to Ryan that a powder room on my first floor seemed to be colder since the installation of the new system. He agreed to have his crew look at it during the humidifier exchange. It turned out the duct-work had always been poorly designed. It had only seemed colder since my new system had been installed because it had been so unusually cold this winter. This was no fault of bay Breeze's. But Bay Breeze still inserted a scoop into my duct-work to make the powder room start getting more heat. When I found out that the problem had not been caused by them, I offered to pay for the duct-work modification - twice! But they would not let me. My wife is thrilled that the powder room is no longer cold. My experience strongly suggests that you can trust this company to give you a good price, treat you well, and go the extra mile to make and keep you happy. I would recommend then to anyone without hesitation.

The representative that came to our home for our estimate was professional, knowledgeable, and honest. He did not try to upsell us to a premium system like every other company, in fact he recommended against it. Our 1940's Cape Cod can only reach a certain level of efficiency, so he steered us toward a mid-range model. He took almost an hour looking at our current HVAC system and made suggestions to get better performance from a smaller furnace. We had no problem scheduling the installation within a few days of signing the contract. The installers arrived slightly early and ready to get the job done. Both were polite, professional, and obviously experienced. I would guess there was several decades of experience between the two of them. We had absolutely no concern having these gentlemen in our home. About 8 months have passed since our installation and we have now tested it through all extremes of weather. We have not experienced a large enough cost savings to write home about, but our utility bills have definitely gone down. The biggest difference is the consistency of the temperature in our home. The furnace was properly sized by the company representative and his system design changes have greatly improved the comfort of our home. Overall we received a product that was well-matched to our home and needs, was fairly priced, and professionally installed. We have recommended Bay Breeze to anyone that has asked. They are a small company that offers above-average service at a competitive price.

I was having issues with the heat pump and air handler in my home. The unit was pretty old and I knew it was on its last legs. I called Bay Breeze Heating and Cooling after reading all the great reviews on Angies List. Within a few days they had a Tech come out and take a look at my unit and do a diagnostic check. The Tech was very professional and easy to talk to and answered any questions that I had. I knew at that point I had to get a new system so I requested one of their Sales guys come out and give me a quote. Again, very quickly within a day or so I had one of their Salesmen in my home ready with all the information I would need. The Salesmen, Mr. Spence was very professional as well, did not push me to make a sale and did not push a product that was above the needs of my home and did not push a product that was not already established as a quality product (Trane). I asked for about a week to make a decision which was no problem. After my personal and work schedule cleared up I was able to call Mr. Spence back and make an appointment to schedule an install and sign all the pertinent paperwork. Less than a week later the crew arrived (1/21/14) which was the day of the snow storm we just received and performed the install. They arrived early around 7:30am and were gone by Noon. Clarence and his crew were very polite and professional. They worked hard and also were very cautious about making sure that no mess was left behind. The crew was very good with me asking questions while they worked and also took time to show me the system and different components and how they worked since I have zero understanding of how Heating and AC Systems work. They also told me to call any time if I had any issues or questions. Although it's only been 24 hours since install, every things been so much better since my old system. I definitely notice a huge difference. I am extremely pleased with Bay Breeze Heating and Cooling and the products they sell and the work that has been performed. I would definitely highly recommend them to other people that I know and I will definitely continue to use them again.

I had a flue for my gas boiler that needed to be relined. They quoted me $700 on the phone. The technician then came out and told me the job would actually cost at least $1600. That's not a totally unreasonable price for the work, but I was stunned by the fact that the initial estimate was less than half the actual quote. I don't know if the person I spoke to on the phone was deliberately lowballing the estimate or just didn't have all the information they needed, but in any case it made me not want to do business with this company.

Sorry for any confusion. This was what 90% of our gas liners cost. But your chimney was a lot higher from the roof than most houses which increased the difficulty of the job. This is why we do not like to quote prices over the phone because every job is different. we do not try to mislead anyone.

The technician came earlier than expected which was great. He answered all of my questions and was very knowledgeable. I have service plans which have hardly ever had a excluded part or service. Karen in the office is wonderful polite and always accommodating. The company is on top of their customers routine service plan schedules and is on top of arranging the visits. I have been a customer since 1988 and will use nobody else. They have done routine care for us for air duct maintenance and installed additional duct returns and replaced an AC coil as well. The technician RJ is above and beyond on all fronts. Attention to detail and he cleaned up well. The owner Ryan is approachable and responsive.
Description of Work: They did a maintenance check on the furnace and the humidifier.
