Mr. Brown contacted me within a timely manner after I left a voice mail on his phone. When I talked with him, hew was courteous and professional. When I provided him with the specificiations of what I wanted, he made sure they were to my satisfaction. The estimate he provided for man hours/materials were accurate. I now have an extra 6 feet of space for my cloting. I will be contacting him again in the future for additional jobs. I highly recommend him.

I am happy with my storage box, but I am unhappy with the tile work. Too much adhesive was placed under the tiles, so it came up between the spaces. The adhesive was tracked through my house. J&D came back to clean it up and finish the tile, but the adhesive wasn't dry enough to do more work. During this visit, I pointed out spaces and closet area that were missing tile. He told me he had another project in NY and would return in three weeks. I have only heard from him once since. At that time, I was told he would come over, but he never showed up.

They are a young outfit. They are very good at what they do. They were cheerful and polite. They were on time and I had no problems with them. They seemed to be very interested in doing a good job.

Jerome arrived on time, was friendly, and helped out with some things that were beyond his obligations under our agreement. The other guy on his crew, Andre, was helpful as well. I feel like I got a good value.

I signed up for a "Big Deal" with J & D to repair damage that was done to my basement ceiling from a water leak. They showed up the day and time we had scheduled. They brought all materials. They did an excelllent job and vacuumed the floor afterwards. Overall, a very good experience.

J & D Handyman Service staff showed up on time, and were dressed in their company uniform, making them readily identifiable which I think is important. I don't want a fly-by-night firm doing work in my home. The painting was done quite expertly and efficiently. The painter was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave me tips for future painting and little projects in my home such as how to fix the dog scratches on the front door! I was extremely impressed with the quality of workmanship especially since I'd had other companies paint for me in the past. My expectations for the quality and professionalism were far exceeded! The work was expertly done and the cleanup was impeccable! The work was done well and fast. I could not be happier!!! I will be sure to use this firm in the future for all my painting needs and will recommend them to everyone I know. I know that I have other painting that needs to be done I will have them back for sure!

They were pleasant enough, prompt and responsive. However they didn't tape or use very many tarps, and after they left I found paint spatters on some furnature in the child's room, on my pergo floors in the living room, and quite a bit of paint in the bathtub, sink, and floor of my bathroom where they cleaned up. I had to spend about a half hour or so after they left cleaning up after them, and I continue to find new small splatters several months later. Also, the overall job was OK, but I felt like I could have done a better job on the actual painting (and definately on the prep work) myself. In the future, I'll do my own painting. I will say that I had to call them back right after they left because a small wall that I felt should be painted was left the old color. They did come right back and fix it, so that was a big positive.

I used J & D for painting. They were efficient and professional. They were a few minutes late because of traffic, but called to let me know. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd use them again.

J & D was professional from start to finish. They showed up on time, had all the tools and materials needed for the work. They took the time to talk with my husband and I to make sure they understood what we wanted. Then they proceeded to quickly and efficiently work until the job was done. They paid attention to detail, and made sure to clean up after the work was done. Both the wall and the bulkhead work was very satisfactory. I would definitely hire them again.

I had a rocky start with Mr. Jerome Brown of the aforementioned service; however, I admit that I became a little impatient because of past contracting experiences. After connecting with Mr. Brown (Jerome) and establishing a date for service, my apprehension diminished and I looked forward to the work being completed. Jerome and an associate (Andre’) from J & D Handyman Services LLC showed up as promised at 8:00 a.m. They were on time, courteous, and well prepared to work. We did a walkthrough, just to make sure we were on the same page for services, and we were. After arriving, they helped me to move and place objects aside; drop clothes and covers were placed over remaining furnishings. When the work was completed, they replaced items, cleared their belongings and left my home spotless. It has been almost 24 hours since my bathroom was painted and trimmed and my kitchen ceiling resurfaced and painted. All I can say about the finished job is…I love it! My bathroom was remodeled several weeks ago. However, the contract did not include painting as part of the job. The walls were spackled and the bathroom looked incomplete. This was part of my apprehension in getting the job finished. After returning today, I can truly say I am HAPPY with my bathroom renovation, mostly because the paint job has given life to the room. It looks clean, fresh and complete. As for my kitchen, a prior leak had left the ceiling damaged. There was a spackling job that was incomplete, prior to Jerome’s contract, and like the bathroom it had not been painted. However, I am now celebrating the new look of my kitchen. Just by having J & D Handyman Services, LLC resurface and paint the kitchen, it has been given a facelift and looks fresh and new too. So Angie, I give the company an A in all categories. Thanks for being there. I would highly recommend someone using both your services.

J & D Handyman Services arrived to repair damaged ceiling & wall drywall in a guest bedroom. They did an excellent job and I plan to use them again for additional painting and "handyman" repairs.

I called this company because I read good reviews on Angie's List, and had already tried with another company (Lerner & Garcia) who did not fulfill their promise of calling back. When I called and stated I needed a handyman, he said he'd call back that afternoon to speak with me in detail about my project. He never called back.

Jerome responded promptly when I called for an estimate; the work started and was completed on the agreed upon dates; the work crew was respectable, respectful, and diligent in their work; they moved and covered my furniture; cut out and replaced part of ceiling that had been damaged by an upstairs leak - the job was done so well you can't tell that section of the ceiling from the rest of the ceiling; adjusted the estimate for wallpaper work they were unable to do in the powder room (I would have preferred to know that they couldn't do the work before the job got started).

The job went great. The quality, speed of work, and price were all excellent.

I like these guys a lot. On time - great work ethic - cleaned up. Going to hire them for more work

We purchased the Angies List Big Deal from J&D. They arrived on-time and did a very thorough job while being lightning fast. They were even kind enough to remove nasty bolts/nails from one wall and touch-up a ceiling without additional charge. We will be using them for another small drywall project soon.

He put the grill part back on and fixed the door for us. He wasn't able to fix our railing however.

I had my reservations, but relied on the feedback from the list as opposed to my "gut". In hindsight, it was a mistake. They painted several walls and one of the rooms in the property. They were also supposed to fix a plumbing access panel as well. Instead of using drywall for the access panel (which was there originally, they used plywood which will need to be replaced to be done correctly. They not only missed a couple of key spots on the walls, they missed an entire wall as well. I gave them the key as it was a vacant rental, they were supposed to start on Monday, but they started on Saturday, two days early, without notification. They did not replace drywall that was damaged from a leak that was fixed. They gave me an estimate for an additional gallon of paint(already had some), but needed to by 5 b/c they allegedly couldn't not by the color in 1 gallon containers. So instead of ~$30 for paint, it cost me $135. Most contractors would have at least called to give a heads up on such a large discrepancy. Needless to say I was disappointed and voiced my displeasure with the owner.

They did a very good job. They did top quality work, it was a small job and it looked really good. I really liked the way they finished it. It was just a couple small repairs, but we were very happy with them. I've already planned to use them again.

I paid them in cash, but it was a few hundred dollars. They were really nice guys and they worked really fast. They were very professional. They were available on short notice and they were on time. They were very nice individuals. They were responsive to my questions and provided input as well. It was a pleasant experience working with them. They did great quality work and our tenants were really happy with the house. I would use their services in the future too.
