He never finished filling the cracks, he left paint drips on my front porch and on my kitchen floor, and he left the cement filler all the way down my steps. He has told me three separate times that he would come back to my house to repair the cement wall and clean up the paint and the cement, but he still hasn't come or called. He's extremely unprofessional and provided me terrible service.

This is the second time J & D Handyman Service failed to show up as scheduled. The first appointment was on a Saturday at noon. We made the appointment with him three weeks in advance. We waited until 2pm, after calling and emailing him multiple times and getting no response. Finally he emails us asking "Can I stop by Monday at 4:00". A bad sign, right? But we wanted to give him another chance based on his good reviews, so we asked for another time he'd be available. After several days of silence, he left us a voicemail yesterday saying he would come by today after 6pm. I made sure to leave work a little early to get home in time to meet him. I just now saw this email from him sent a few minutes ago: "I had sent that email yesterday Iam not available today! Thanks Jerome " First, yesterday's message was a voicemail, not an email. Second, I have the recording of his own voice yesterday saying "I'll be available tomorrow after 6 to come over." I'll now be submitting my refund request to Angie's List -- but we'll never get back the hours we wasted waiting around for this inconsiderate person to show up as promised. J & D Handyman Service is unreliable and unprofessional. If you value your time, find someone else.

This was a terrific experience, though it started with a bump. After purchasing the Big Deal, I emailed Jerome twice without getting a response, including sending a picture of the damaged ceiling and asking some questions about what I needed to provide (the deal stated that the customer needed to supply the drywall, but I wanted to know how much). When that didn't elicit a response, I called him, and got a phone call back very quickly. Lesson learned: with Jerome use the phone first, and use email for supplemental stuff (like pictures). He was very responsive, and once on the phone with me was able to find my email and the picture, answer my questions about supplying the drywall needed, and even suggested where I could get an appropriately sized piece of 1/2" drywall.We agreed on a time, a weekday morning within a week of my call. Jerome arrived at 10:30am, which wasn't bad, with a crew of two others. They got to work immediately, laying out plastic, looking at the damaged ceiling, and determining how much of the ceiling drywall to cut out. They quickly added drywall screws to support the drywall where it had sagged a bit, and they cleaned up the hole and cut a piece of drywall to fit from the piece I supplied.A few things about my preparation: I had cleared out or draped our furniture with sheets and drop cloths. I had removed the lighting fixture from the ceiling so they would not have to work around anything. I had a sheet of 1/2" drywall in the room; and I had turned off the central air to try to keep the dust from dispersing. I've done my share of drywall work over the years, finishing a full bathroom, closet, kitchen ceiling and numerous repairs. I hate working on drywall overhead. It gives me a pain in the neck, literally, and I know how hard it is to get a smooth finish on repair work. My wife also says I'm a perfectionist and find fault too easily. So, I was ready to be disappointed, but within an hour I was in awe.Once they had the patch in place was when the magic happened. I am bad with names, so I can't tell you which of his team was doing the mudding, but he was just amazing with the trowel. They had a system, one man mixing the fast drying patch compound so that the trowel-master always had the next batch when he needed it. They had to be good because they used very fast-drying compound. I'd say the whole job took less than two hours. As the last layer of mud was being applied, they were sweeping, cleaning, and generally removing evidence of drywall repair. I did supply a garbage bag -- not a bad thing to have on hand, too.In the end, I got a patched ceiling and a lesson in how to get great results with drywall repair, should I ever want to do it myself again, though I can't think of why I wouldn't call Jerome first.

They did a very nice job. They were friendly and quick. I was surprised and pleased with the amount of work that they accomplished in the 4 hours.

I asked him the price for the downstairs and was happy with the answer. I asked how much the upstairs would cost and he said that was included. I was blown away by the great price and the high quality of work they provided. These guys are tough to get because they are so good. They performed the services quickly, neatly, and professionally.

They work was done faster than was described on the Big Deal.

I purchased their Big Deal for four hours of drywall repair. Jerome and two other gentlemen in his crew showed up on time, were courteous, completed the task efficiently, and cleaned up thoroughly. I recommend calling to schedule an appointment instead of emailing. In my experience, the company responds much better to phone calls than emails. My initial email went without a response which is why I gave a B under responsiveness. After that, I called and the receptionist and Jerome both were quick with their call backs.Overall, this was a positive experience.

The guys were punctual professional and friendly. After the work was completed, everything was cleaned up. I'm very happy with the work that was done and will use this company again.

Mr. Brown and two of his workmen arrived early and began working immediately. The team was friendly as well as professional. They worked so efficiently that I barely had enough tasks to fill up the allotted time. I was very impressed with management and workmanship of J. D. Handyman LLC. I plan to compile another To-Do list and contact the company in the very near future.

I did not go through with completing the work with this company because I got an overall bad vibe from this guy. He spent more time telling me what he was not going to do. The tenor of the conversation gave me an impression that the $120 was just to get him in the door and that more charges would follow. In the end, it just sounded too good to be true and I did not want this person in my home.

See above. I suggest that this company not be included in the Big Deal program. Fortunately I was able to get my money refunded by Angie's List. This helped me have some confidence that Angie's list is an organization worth workiing with, not J & D Handyman Service LLC

I thought the team was very good - arrived on time, did all work (patching holes in drywall ceiling), covered areas where they were working, and cleaned up after themeselves. They did their work quickly and in good humor. I would use them again!

They were very prompt and finished all tasks ahead of schedule. The handymen were very professional and knowlegeable. I will definitely use them again.

Jerome and his crew arrived promptly at the time that they said they would. The original visit was to complete a deal that I purchased to get some drywall work done. However, while they were there, I asked about other services they provide. Jerome was very patient with me and answered all my questions. Since the drywall work did not take as much time as I had originally anticipated, i was delighted when they agreed to complete other work that I needed to have done. The crew was very professional and polite. They were very careful to thoroughly clean everything up after they completed their work. The price that was charged to do the additional work was very reasonable. I was very, very pleased with their work and plan to use them again to take care of some additional projects for me.

I had to wait a month before I could be scheduled but that was fine as I was going to be out of town anyway. The men showed up on time, got right to work and finished earlier than expected. The finished product was neat and fully to my expectations. They cleaned up everything. JnD Handyman Services is top notch; they are real professionals. I am planning to use them again.

We are doing major renovations in our family room and second bathroom. The family room had several large holes cut in the drywall due to upgrading electrical wiring. The second bathroom had been demolished down to nothing and was just getting reframed. My husband called J&D Handyman to redeem the coupons for the drywall repairs. The owner and he set a date to come after hearing what we wanted. The date was after the coupons expired but the company honored them anyway. The crew showed up, patched and mudded all the holes in two hours! They did excellent work. Because they were so fast, the owner told my husband that once he had the new drywall up in the bathroom he would send his best mudder out to finish it for him. We are thrilled with the quality of their work.

The company intentionally did not respond to my voicemails so I could not redeem the coupon.

Thermostat installed incorrectly--which is really hard to do, if you have any sort of experience. Didn't complete work and left without providing status even though we agreed that he would call if he exceeded 4 hrs and I would pay him the balance. He set up an appointment for another day to finish the work and didn't show. He picked date and time, and just didn't show. I asked for a refund since I had to send someone else out to fix the job he didn't do correctly. He promised to refund $100, but has not sent it. That was 3 weeks ago.

It didn't go, the firm didn't fulfill their agreement and now I want my money back! The date shown in "approximate service date" was the last time I had any discussion with the firm. At that time, they said they would get right back with me with a new date. They have not returned multiple messages.

I called J&D on Feb 27th for some drywall patching to be done using Angie's "Big Deal" coupon, and got the work scheduled for the first date they had available: 11am on April 9th. On March 27th, I called and explained that I would need to cancel and reschedule because I would be unavailable on April 9th - the day of the original appointment. J&D said they would call me back, but didn't call me back to reschedule. I called again on March 29th, got voicemail and left my phone number with a message explaining the situation, but J&D never called me back. Work was never done, and the Angie's deal expired this week (June 22nd).

I was disappointed that for one room of paint they wanted to charge me $75 not including any charge for trim or ceiling. They also were not accomadating with their scheduling and they were not responsive to my emails.

Jerome returned all my calls and accommodated my requests. He also performed plumbing service in addition to the drywall. He and his guys did an efficient job. They were friendly and quick.

Because the team stayed over their allotted time, I was able to go and buy the appropriate sized medicine cabinet, which they installed. Everything was done very well - secured towel bars, lamps, cabinet hardware, and medicine cabinet. In some cases, the screws provided with towel bars weren't correct for a secure job, so Jerome searched until he found something that did the job well. The men were all very professional in their demeanor. I would definitely hire them again.
