Very fast service. Left final sanding to the homeowner. After 2 months, repairs have held up.

When the work was done it was done quickly and efficiently. There was a minor discrepency as th o the number of hours serviced since the work was done as projects came up.

I hired J&D in conjunction with a coupon deal on Angie's List. The deal was for painting of a room up to 250 sq. feet for $120. Jerome was a pleasure to deal with. He responded to my emails and phone calls as we scheduled and then rescheduled per my request. He and his assistant arrived early for our 8 am appointment, a nice surprise especially because my home is not easy to find. I asked them to also paint the trim in the room which they did for an additional $120, a reasonable price. They were delightful to work with and completed the work quickly. I give the work itself a"B" grade. It was good but not perfect. I am totally satisfied, even with small imperfections, and will use Jerome's company again. I recommend this company without reservation.

The coupon from Angies List Big Deal was misleading (they acknowledged this) thus I had to buy another one to pay for enough time to get the entire medium sized bed room painted. Only the walls were painted, no trim or ceiling. There were a couple spots with cracks that they repaired. The job was done quickly. They were very professional and friendly. I was disappointed with the quality because I had paint spattered on antique furniture and my new plantation shutters. Where the paint met the baseboard or window trim, there were many many instances where it did not meet the line or went over it. This meant that I had to go back and paint the white trim to cover up where they were sloppy and had to paint the wall to cover up the paint that was previously there because they did not paint it all the way to the trim. Even with the snafu of the misleading coupon, the price was good and at the end of the day, it took me less time to scrape paint off of where they spattered, repaint trim or touch up the wall color to correct their sloppiness than it would have to paint the entire room. Other than the spatters, they cleaned up well after themselves, were on time, and were professional. I have had professional painters before so I know that the standard I expected for clean lines is not too much to ask.

After purchasing my big deal to have one room painted for $120 I proceeded to play phone tag with Jerome and his office for nearly two months. I finally had an appt scheduled for 10/2 only to have a phone call that morning that he did not paint in the rain due to the humidity factor. he said I would hear back from him to reschedule the appt but never did. After leaving three messages after his cancellation, I decided to just get a refund for my big deal purchase. buyer beware!

They do a good job. I like to be here while they are doing the work so I can give direction and they are okay with that. They are really responsive, very professional and very nice.

The first shock was that "one room" apparently means a bathroom, so when I made the appointment, I was immediately told that I would have to buy a second $120 deal in order to have the one small room painted. Since I also had to buy the paint myself, it was not a deal at all! They were punctual and friendly. They worked quickly. But the quality was bad. First, they did not remove any of the nails or screws. When I asked them to do so, they did, but they did not spackle the holes! When they were finished and I pointed it out, they said "well, we assumed you would put screws back in the same place". Quality service means doing the work right, not making assumptions to save yourself time. Plus once you pull screws out, you can't use the same holes again. After they left, I took a close look and found paint splatters at least 10 different places. I called them, and to their credit, they did come right back and clean up those spots. So, it wasn't a horrible experience, and the walls do look nice, but it was not a deal.

I made the initial call. We agreed on date & time. Voila! they arrived & went to work.

The owner was polite and responsive when I called to make an appointment. We were able to schedule within days. He arrived with another worker and they completed the work in less time than expected. We were able to complete some long delayed small projects quickly. Thanks.

They were supposed to come back to do some additional work but never did. I have tried numerous times to contact them over the past month and a half and they have been completely unresponsive. If they didn’t want to do the work they should have told me and given the remainder of my money back. As a person Jerome is a nice guy he just isn’t responsive.

Overall, my experience with the company was only fair. The price was good and they did a good job with the painting. The problem for me was the overall tone of the owner each time I spoke with him. He seemed hurried and like he was reluctent to schedule me. Then when the day of service arrived he was about 30-45 minutes late. He called, but the excuse that he offered didn't make sense at the time. I got the distinct feeling that he was just running late, but used the excuse of getting lost as a cover. When he arrived his tone was too casual as though he knew me. I prefer paid professionals to act professional. The paint job was fine and the price was good, but the quality of service could use improvement.

Prompt, courteous, and on time. I would definitely use them again.

They had a crew of three men who were able to work efficiently. They were highly responsive to my requests and were careful to double check the stairs were well supported. Overall a great experience and I will definitely call on them again when we have another project we need help with. It probably is good to talk to them ahead of time about the projects to make sure you have all the materials they need. For example, with the window molding, they noted it was better to take out the whole strips of molding rather than just the rotten pieces, so it would look better. We had to run out to Home Depot and get more molding. Not a problem since we had other projects they were working on while we got the additional materials.

When we called the company to schedule the work, they told us they didn't want to travel the 25miles from their company location to our house. We offered to pay extra to cover their travel, they just never called back when they said they would. They did give us back what we paid for this deal.

Purchase 2 coupons for drywall repair/painting services that were advertised as up to 4 hours each. I attempted contacting company serveral times to arrange for a time to complete the work. Finally got a call back on the 3rd try. When the crew arrived, I explained that I had 2 coupons for a total of 8 hours and that I wanted to repair qa hole in the drywall with 1 of the coupons and paint the room with the other. He immediately began restating the requirements of the coupon (i.e. 4 hours means 1 gallon of paint etc). I asked him to proceed with the drywall repair. The repaired the drywall but left the final sanding for another visit. They had taken approximately 80 minutes of the advertised 4 hours. They packed up and said that they would call to schedule a return visit. I have not heard back from this group since that time even as I have attempted to call them several times. I would strongly warn against using this company. They are not reliable, do not hold to agreements and fail to complete work as promised.

We found this company on Angie;s List when we were looking for someone to repaint ou rfamily room. We had recently had our basement waterproofed and needed to have the family room repainted. I did not read all the fine print so it cost us more that we originally thought (but that was our fault). However, they came and did the work. They were on time and did an excellent job. We would hire them again.family

Overall, very well. The guys were friendly and professional and did a good job. The only thing I caution you on is communicating with the order takers. They led me to believe that power washing the patio would be included in the "Big Deal" that I purchased. When the guys got there they said flat our that the deal was just the house and nothing more, regardless of square footage or size of the house. They told us that happened frequently. They gave us a price for adding the patio and steps which we accepted and they proceeded to do the work.

They called back very promptly, and they took into consideration that this was sort of an emergency and came out even though they were pretty busy. They had no problem getting out there, called the resident to let them know when they would be here and called me to let me know when the job was finished, because it was on a rental property of mine. They worked very closely with me and let me know everything they were doing. They seemed very knowledgable and discussed with me what my options were and gave me some tips. They were very helpful!

Jerome was very difficult to get in touch with. We set a date for Monday, Oct. 8. However, after we finally got in touch with him (after not hearing from him for weeks), he tells us that we're out of his service area. He provides this little nugget of information the Friday before he was set to do the work. We had planned our entire holiday weekend around making sure we were home so we could have this drywall work done. Only to have him tell us 3 days beforehand that he couldn't do it because we're too far away. We bought this deal in August! And he waits until October to tell us he can't do it?! Very unprofessional. I would not recommend this handyman.

I purchased a Groupon for some drywall repair for $125.00 for 4 man-hours of work. It covered the labor, but not the materials. I scheduled the appointment two-weeks out with little difficulty. They arrived on-time with a crew of three due to it being a slow morning. As they assessed the project, they determined that 5/8" drywall was needed and I had purchased 1/2" drywall. A short trip to Galliher & Hugeley's and we were back on track. They installed the drywall, taped, and applied the mud within two hours. The prep work had taken an additional hour. I didn't ask them to texture the drywall as this was a temporary patch until a complete remodel could be performed. Overall I was satisfied with their work, professionalism, attitude, punctuality and cost. The only reason I didn't give them an "A" for quality was due to my inability to assess their finish work which was a limitation of the project not a critic of them. Bottom line: I would recommend them and would use them again if in need of a handyman.

There were 3 workmen, and they did the job very quickly. The finished product looked fine at first. After they left, I discovered that they had not painted the wall up to the edge of the electrical baseboard heating unit, so I painted that. There were also some paint drops splashed on the wood floor, which I cleaned up. After the paint dried, I discovered that above a double window the spackling that they used to fill curtain rod holes had krinkled up so that it was rough, along with the paint that covered the spackling. I called the company and they agreed to come out in a few days to re-spackle the walls. They said it was probably due to the fact that the spackling had not had a chance to dry before being painted. It seemed to me that professional painters should know that risk, and that they should have either used a different kind of spackling or come back later to paint after spackling. I had dug out from the garbage the empty paint cans and discovered that there was just barely enough to paint over the re-spackling job. I told them just to do the spackling and that I would paint the wall after it had dried. Which is what happened. So, all in all, it turned out okay, but the problem with the spackling was not necessary and caused a delay and this need for a do-over.

I could not make arrangement with the company before my coupon expired. Update: No changes.

We did not come close to using all the time purchased, and the guys were willing to paint or do other work had I been in a position (supplies) to tackle an additional project that day. They communicated well, were prompt, worked well together, and were generally a pleasure to work with. Two months later, the work still looks great.

They were very nice & on time. They were very polite. However, I was uncomfortable having to fill out a review form for Angie's List while they were there & they also made it sound necessary that I do so. After they were gone I realized they'd put weather stripping in the door but they didn't fix the problem - there's still a gap & air coming through. They put the quarter-round in but the carpet is half over & half under it - not exactly sightly. Nothing was critical, but it wasn't fantastic work. I probably wouldn't use them in the future because I was a little disappointed in quality. Being nice is great but when the work isn't great it isn't particularly useful.
