There was some delay in getting a response to my initial attempt to schedule the job. I had to recontact J & D Handyman Service. We did eventually get the job scheduled and it was completed.

Once scheduling was done, it went well.

The J&D Handyman crew were great to work with. They were pleasant, professional, and quick. The challenge was contacting them and scheduling them. I sent them 3 emails starting in October and left vmails and was not able to schedule them until February. By that time, I had additional work to perform, so I purchased another special via Angie's List. They brought a 3-person team and went to work. When I showed them what I wanted to do, he informed me that it was beyond the scope of the Angie's List deal and would cost $200 extra, $100 to be paid up front and $100 upon completion. I agreed and they set to work. They hung some drywall where we had sections of wall removed and made repairs where we had recessed lights put in. They worked hard for several hours, but did not finish. They promised to come back to wrap up (and collect the remaining $100) and, despite several phone calls to them, never did. If you can guarantee that they'll show up and do the work, they are great, but I don't need to drama of wondering whether my contractor is going to return my calls or even show up.

The company was very responsive and flexible with scheduling and were very forthcoming with how they might continue the repairs in the future. They did a good job overall and cleaned up after they were finished.

The company did a good job filling in the holes in the wall. Since I had time left over, I had them fill some other minor holes I had in other rooms and they were more than happy to do it.

Great guys. I have a honey-do list that my Honey hasn't done. I will definitely use them again.

The guys were professional and worked with me to accomplish as much as possible in a limited amount of time. The coupon only covered the first two hours, so the a remaining time was at their normal rate (vice the discounted coupon rate). The did a good job and we are happy to have the holes in the room finally repaired.

They did a good job! They showed up right on time. I purchased the sections of drywall, and they had all of the other materials. They were quick, cleaned up after themselves, and everything went well overall.

Mr. Brown and associate arrived on time and did a great job. The paint job was great. Mr. Brown is very knowledgeable and professional. I am not very satisfied with the big deal because it can have too many fine details (things not covered in the price). So really you are not getting a great deal - just my opinion. When purchasing another big deal - I will call the company first and check out the fine print more closely.

He was very professional, had a great attitude, and did everything we asked.

Remove, replaced rotted wooden window sills, and painted them. Also, replaced a piece of rotted wood on the 2nd floor porch roof

Overall I was pleased with the professionalism, knowledge, skills and their ability to meet my needs. I would recommend the company.

I signed up for a coupon over Angie's List. They honored it even though we couldn't schedule a time before the expiration date. They were friendly, prompt and professional.

They were very busy, but I explained that I had a deadline, they really worked it out to come and do the work before I sold my home. They did a great job! They painted areas that I couldn’t reach, like the ceilings. They were neat and friendly and were very efficient! If I were still going to be living here, I would hire them again.

They showed up on time and with all the tools they needed. They did the job and left. They also gave advice on some other repairs that were needed.

I ended up not using the coupon because he was sick.

Overall I was happy with the services. I purchased an angie's list big deal which provided 4 hours of dry wall repair. Due to the quantity of other people purchasing this deal it took about a month until they were able to schedule an appointment. I don't hold this against them at all. The B in responsiveness was due to some minor delays with returning scheduling calls. When they called me to confirm the appointment they asked me about the project and explained what I needed to purchase (dry wall) and what they would provide (tools, mud, tape). They showed up on time with two men and were able to complete the project in under an hour. There was one hole of four that was a bit larger and needed a 2x4 to screw the dry wall to which I did not have and wasn't part of the supplies they asked me to supply. I rated them a B for this. It may help to double check exactly what you will need to supply. Overall the ceiling repair is great and I don't have any complaints with the work they did.

They were punctual, pleasant, and got to work quickly. They did a decent job on most of the work. However, they left behind some rough spots. My husband pointed out the rough spots to them near the end. But they didn't seem willing to do anything about it.

Great. The did 2 coats of paint much quicker than I could have and it was well worth the money spent.

J&D was prompt and professional. They had a level of professional courtesy that I don't often see with most companies. There was an issue with my check (which was my fault), but they were very understaning and patient in allowing me to resolve the issue. One of the most useful things to know is how far my $149 Big Deal coupon for 4 hours went. First of all, they divided it between two workers, which meant I had two workers for two hours. I had to pay an extra $100 for the size of the job. So, my coupon didn't go as far as I'd hoped. Overall, I wish I could have gotten more for $249, but it all seemed fair. I had to sand & repaint the areas myself. The clean-up wasn't spotless, but did a "once over" to get up the additional debris. I would recommend J&D based on their professionalism and quality of work. They get the job done well, but don't necessarily go the "extra mile".

I was satisfied with repair. The crew cleaned up once the job was done.
