I had a difficult time scheduling an appointment, and did not receive a callback for several days after trying to set up an initial estimate or service date. Subsequently, I did schedule a date but then cancelled as I found another painting company that seemed more reliable.

A new security system was installed 2 years ago however the devices were smaller than the original ones. The security company had cut into the drywall to do this but left gaping cuts. Part of what J&D did for us was to patch all of those places. In addition, we were going to replace our kitchen light fixture with a ceiling fan/light combination. J&D removed the old light fixture and patched all of the holes/marks from the original fluorescent fixture. They arrived 15 minutes early and completed the work in a very short period of time. They were friendly and professional. I would hire them again & recommend them to others.

We hired them to do minor drywall repair do to minor water damage on our ceiling. They were very polite, but did not have the materials needed to do any of the repairs. They expected us to have purchased everything they needed ahead of time, but didn't tell us this. They did not even have a ladder! They ended up not fixing any of our issues, but just recommend that we purchase a solution from the hardware store to spray on the water spots.

I purchased a voucher for four hours of handyman service. which I redeemed for a bunch of small plaster repairs on my house--the kind that are required when you have teenagers and big dogs. Jerome was not real good about returning my phone calls when I was trying to schedule, and then reschedule when a conflict arose. He and a helper eventually did appear, and did a workmanlike job on the repairs. I "excused" them from sweeping up but did not check on the condition of my rooms when they left. Only later did I learn that they had left several big globs of plaster to dry on the floor and doorknob of my daughter's bathroom. More disturbingly, I asked Jerome for an estimate on a bigger repair of serious ceiling and wall damage in my living room. He gave what I though were more than reasonable numbers, and I agreed. He promised to call me to schedule and to get his "floor guy" out to estimate some related floor repairs. None of THAT ever happened. I called him several times and even talked to him once. That time. on a Friday in early January, he said he was trying to get in touch with his floor guy and would be back in touch with me on Monday. At the end of January that call has not come. Bottom line--J&D is okay if you can get 'em into your house, but if you are looking for reliability, you need to look somewhere else.

Angie's List Big Deal. Bought two certificates for painting. Did nice job, went above and beyond and fixed a small area in our bathroom where we had patched drywall and our patch job was less than stellar. Will have him back. Painted high areas over stairs to second floor and second floor landing walls and ceiling.

They did a good job. It was difficult scheduling a time for them to come out. They initially wanted to schedule the work 3 months out. We finally agreed on an earlier date. They showed up on time on the scheduled date.

We hired Jerome as a result of an Angie's Big Deal, so we felt that we got excellent value for our money.

We could not get in touch with this vendor and Angie's list ultimately refunded the cost of the deal we purchased.

The work was done professionally and on time.

Bad experience. Decided to try one of the constant stream of Angie's List "deals" flowing into my email box. This company had many great reviews, and only a few recent bad ones, so I trusted Angie and pre-paid for the service. I will NEVER pre-pay for an Angie deal again. After several weeks of calling and emailing the contractor for a deal bought in August, we finally sync'd up and agreed on a date in December that was before my deal expired in January. I described my drywall damage and was told that the price of the deal did not actually include any drywall, and that I would have to provide that myself. I told them I didn't own a truck and asked if there was a way they could provide if I paid for it. They said they would get 2 sheets and bring them on the repair day. I set up a day off from work and waited for the arrival of the team. I got a phone call instead that told me their truck was broken and they couldn't get the drywall, and that they would call me back to set up another time. I never heard back from them and am disgusted with the effort I have already made to have this company do what seemed a simple task. Working with my credit card to reverse the payment for services not performed, but probably just lost money. Sorry to say that Angie's list in the DC area doesn't work. Her contractors come from too far and wide and I'm sure that part of the problem was that I was not a local job and not worth the effort. Sorry Angie, but you're getting too big and commercialized that you are losing touch with your roots: solid, trusted, local service.

They did what they advertised. It would have been nice if they had been clear that it was two man hours not just two hours. They cleaned up and were able to do the job that I wanted them to do. Because they were rushed, I did not get as smooth a finish, as I would have liked because the plaster cannot dry in an hour, they were not able to sand it. They were done and I did not want to spend any more money. It came out okay. They gave me what I bought; it just was not enough time for the plaster. They were responsive. I would use them again.

Ceiling patching was good but the paint job by one was not thorough. It's what you get for the price being paid.

Was a good experience. I had to purchase the product, but that wasn't a tremendous big deal.

They were pretty sloppy, they managed to paint the bathroom, my mirrors and the floors. They were okay. They struck me as a company that was just starting out. They were full of enthusiasm and they were nice.

It didn't go at all - cancelled the coupon because we could not agree on a service date or time.

Excellent work, Jerome and Jessy performed the work in a very professional manner.

They came at the appointed time, did a fine job and didn't leave a big mess. No complaints.

Punctual. Did a good job painting, but not excellent. A few too many drips onto baseboard and doorway casings that now need to be removed.

Really well, start to finish. Very professional, and room looks great.

Very sloppy work all around. There were drops of drywall on the carpet and on my base boards. Sloppy and not at all worth it. I could've done what they did myself. I needed the drywall replaced with the piece they asked me to buy ahead of time but still sits in my garage. I'll have to hire a professional to get it done I suppose.

It was very challenging dealing with them and was a waste of my time and money.

I purchased two $120 vouchers which provides 4 man hours of drywall repair. I scheduled an appointment for 12/5/12 between 8-10 AM. J&D indicated they tried to call the day before to confirm the appt., but because they did not hear back from me, they cancelled the scheduled appointment. They never indicated the appointment would be cancelled if they did not receive a call back from the client. I worked with J&D and they eventually showed up the same day around 1:00 PM (unfortunately my father waited 5 hours at my house to let them in). They stayed for about 2 hours and I was satisfied with their work. They also indicated they would come back and finish up the remaining two hours at a later time. I give them an "A" for their work performed, but a "D" on punctuality, and an overall grade of "B". I would use them again, but in the future, they should clearly indicate their cancellation policy to avoid this issue.

The service provider told me that he would only come to my house on a weekend because he did not like driving in rush hour traffic on weekdays. So I set up an appointment on a Saturday morning with him but he never showed up. And he never returned any of my calls after that. My experience with this guy was horrible and I will not use him ever again. Nor do I recommend anyone else use him.
