Excellent service. Came the same day as called (right whent he really cold weather started last month). Fixed both upstairs and downstairs furnace in short order.

We woke up yesterday to no heat from our heat pump and a blank thermostat, with13 degree temps outside. The folks at A P Mathews were extremely responsive: the woman who answered the phone gave me some tipsover the phone (i.e., check the circuit breakers), and when those quick fixes failed she scheduled us a same-day appointment. The technicians came only 10 minutes after the window on what must have been a busy day for them. They diagnosed the problem quickly, fixed it within the hour, and also gave me some additional maintenance tips to keep my heat pump running smoothly. They left the area around the heat pump clean and disposed of the broken parts.

I called at approximately 8am and A P Mathews had a tech at our house by 10am that same day. The tech assessed the furnace and corrected the problem (blocked intake vent) promptly and effectively. Our tech was done within an hour. The tech was courteous, friendly and professional. I feel that their initial hourly rate is competitive and reasonable. We would definitely call them again if we need assistance.

UPDATE: The company called me to apologize for not honoring the coupon, and mailed me a check for $10.00.. I thought that showed a lot of integrity and professionalism. I felt I should not be charged $125 just for the guy to turn on the circuit breaker in my attic. He was in my house for 10 minutes if that! The company even had a coupon and it wasnt honored. I will not recommend them to anyone. Im renting and didnt know there was a circuit breaker for the termostat in the attic. If I had known I would have never needed them. I feel like I was robbed for something so simple.

The furnace stopping working the previous night, and pilot light didn't keep burning after lighting it. Called A P Mathews Heating and Air Conditioning the next morning, and someone came on a Saturday and replaced the old themocouple. He tested the area for gas leaks, found a small leak on pilot tubing, and was able to stop the leak. He was personable, courteous and professional, and had a thorough knowledge of older furnaces. I'd called this company before for an air conditioning repair and that experience was very positive also. It's wonderful to have the furnace working again and I'd recommend this company to anyone.

.These guys were great. The price was very fair and I really appreciated their clarity when discussing replacement options. Once I decided on them after receiving a few quotes they were able to schedule me in a couple of days after I called. Best of all was that I forgot to mention the Angie's List coupon when I paid after the installation. I called them expecting a headache but they said "no problem" and applied the discount after the fact. I was impressed. They didn't demand a printed copy of the coupon or anything else, they just took my word for it. A+ service and price all the way.

They were excellent did a great job!! Very polite and they were careful not to disturb aby existing plants when they were doing the outside work and it was a tight squeeze to put the new equipment in. Cleaned up thoroughly after work. Can't say enough good things about them!!!

We were looking at different heating and cooling options. They were very knowledgeable, spoke with us about the options and gave us several bids for the different options so we could choose the one that was right for us. We ended up choosing anew heat pump. Their prices were also very reasonable and their service was excellent I would highly recommend them.

This company is very reliable, honest, and fair. Our AC went out on a Friday before Labor Day. We knew we could not get any service until Tuesday at the earliest. I was so pleased that this company responded promptly and put in a temporary part, at not cost to get us through the weekend. Can't say enough positive things about this company.

Our overall experience with them has been very good. They are prompt, courteous, fair, and they explain everything they are doing. They came quickly. It was hot, and you don't like to sit around sweating.

The technician was extremely courteous and helpful. He checked the system for leaks and made sure the unit was operating efficiently.

It was a very hot day and we had tried calling a couple different companies to have them come out and have a look at the issue. He was the only one that responded and luckily was located right down the street. The technician showed up promptly and was very polite and professional. He was able to identify the issue right away and he actually had the replacement part in his truck so we really lucked out. I would use him again in the future.

Our air conditioner stopped working, we called A P Matthews Heating and Air Conditoning, Inc. after 7pm and actually spoke with someone! They were able to schedule us for a service call the next day at the time we needed!. The service technician was ontime, professional, friendly, and fixed our problem that same day! Thanks to A P Matthews we are once again living the cool life.e

A/C died in the sweltering heat. Called and the tech was there in less than 3 hours. Took about 20 min to find the bad board and make the repair. Ten dollars off for finding them on Angie's list, so the $125 service call, which included the first hour of labor, turned into $115. Couldn't have been any better. Absolutely recommendation...

Everything was simply excellent and I will call them in the future for any of my HVAC needs. They know what they are doing and they care. Add reasonable prices and can you really ask for anything else. There is a reason they have such good reviews. Clearly they earn them.

Overall, they were good. They come out every year in April. They are a small company, the do their job seriously, they were punctual, and they are professional.

A.P. Mathews did a very good job installing our new Trane central air conditioning system. Originally two company techs visited my house to diagnosis and fix a basement leaks caused by our old Rheem air conditioner. The first tech thought it was a floor drain that was backing up. That was not he cause of problem. It was not until the second tech came out that the problem was identified. The second tech showed me that the condensate pan had completely rusted. The pan an evaporator coil would need to be replaced. Unfortunately my our old Rheem unit was 18 years old. It was time for it to be replaced. Paul, the owner, came out personally. He recommended a Trane unit that was compatible with our furnace. He also made us whole on the two previous service visits. The price was fair. The actual installation was done very professionally by Evid and Connor. They took care not to make a mess of the basement and actually left it cleaner than before they started the work. The The unit is working perfectly. All my expectations were met. I would gladly recommend A.P. Mathews.

They were very friendly and professional. On the day of service they were very communicative as it was raining. They did have to delay the appointment due to the rain but were still able to come out later that same day and completed the service in an hour. The time they did come out was actually beyond there normal service hours which was great. I really appreciated how well they communicated with me and were very informative. I would highly recommend them and will be using them for any of my future HV/AC needs.

He is very responsive and he is reasonably priced. We didn't feel like he was pressuring us to spend more than we needed to.

They we on time (even a few minutes early), polite, did exactly what they said they would do and it cost exactly what it was supposed to cost. very pleased.

I requested AP Matthews to provide me with a quote for switching my in-slab ductwork to an overhead duct system. Scheduling initially was a breeze, and when Paul came to my home he was incredibly professional and helpful. However, I never received any further contact from them, despite multiple emails directly to Paul, and phone messages left at the office. They never provided me with a quote, or even with the courtesy of a phone call back to indicate that they weren't interested in the job. I was very saddened at this unprofessional conduct as everything else had been so pleasant.

Not only did they give us estimates but since we had no heat they attempted to get the "bad" (as deduced by another company) inducer motor running with a bit or oil and hand cranking. It worked and is still running!!!

Called the office, explained the problem, and they were out in a couple days. Quickly fixed the problem.
