A.P. Mathews Heating and Air Conditioning consistently provides stellar service. This is the second time I’ve reach out to this company. I received such great service with them previously, that when my HVAC started leaking, it was a no brainer to call A.P. Mathews Heating and A/C to resolve this issue. Services were arranged according to a mutually agreeable time, and they had the HVAC leak repaired pronto. I am pleased with the entire process from start to finish, and I will definitely use their services for any future needs.

The technician came and replaced the motherboard, determined that the fan worked and did not need to be replaced and the the cooling tower was clean and did not need to be cleaned additionally. Unlike another company which proscribed $1800.00, the part was under warranty and the charge was $175.00

I had my friend and GreekSquad help me install the Nest. They couldn't do it. But Matt, the technician, figured it out within 15 mins. He also made sure that it works properly esp. for the emergency heat before he left. The owner who took my appointment was so kind. As soon as she found out that I didn't have a heat in my house, she got me an appointment the next day. I will definitely do business with them again. Thank you.

We were able to get next day service (on a weekend). The repairman was professional and knowledgeable. We ended up needing a new controller.

Technician was very nice. However he had to make several calls to troubleshoot what was wrong with my unit. And for a hefty service fee. You could probably get a cheaper diagnostic done with someone else who is slightly more competent.

After comparing four estimates to replace our 32 year furnace and AC unit from C.A.R.E. property services, Grove heating and cooling, Belair Engineering, and A.P. Mathews, I found that all of the companies offered good service and similar approaches to our heating and cooling needs albeit with different furnace manufacturers (Gibson, TRANE, Carrier, and TRANE, respectively). A.P. Mathews gave me the best price on a 96 AFUE furnace and 16 SEER AC unit . I was also impressed with their customer service. When I came to find that TRANE's manufacturer rebate had expired, A.P. Mathews increased the value of the Angie's list coupon to further ease the financial burden of the cost. Perhaps the cost difference was due to Paul honoring a quote we had received back in March of 2018 that was valid for a year. The installation was done in a day and the installers were professional. I appreciated that they wore booties to keep the floor clean without being asked and let us know when the gas was going to be turned off/on. They allowed us to keep our electronic air cleaner and added a HEPA filter in-line for added purification. The approximate cost of the service does not include any rebates or coupon discounts.

I submitted an inquiry through Angie's List and they responded the next day. We were able to schedule an appointment at the time and day that I wanted. The technician was thorough and friendly. Other than an additional humidifier filter, which was very necessary from what the technician pointed out, there were no up-charges. I would hire them again .

I waited over a year to wright a review because I wanted to see how the system held up and if there were any problems with the installation, service calls etc. We had a lot of work done for a large home. All Trane units. A new air handler in the attic, two new exterior units (one AC and the other a heat pump) and a high efficiency furnace. From the start, this company was a pleasure to deal with. They were no pressure on the quote and initial visits and responded quickly to my many emails as I was researching and trying to choose components, a brand and even still comparing companies. I have had a lot of bad luck with contractors and installers of various trades in the past, but these guys are absolute pros. The install job was done extremely well. They really seemed to know what they were doing and the finished job was super professional and well done. The new furnace and all the hvac and exhaust pipes were so nicely installed. It was actually a work of art. You can tell they take pride in doing installs right. The air handler needed to be dis-assembled and re-assembled in the attic and again, something that I don't think a lot of people would attempt, but again they did a fantastic job installing the air handler in a tight space on its side. The new AC and Heat Pump units on the exterior also look great. We got the XL 18i systems. The company took care of all the rebates with BGE so we didn't have to. After over a year of use, we have not had to call them back for any repairs and they were super quick to reply to any minor questions we had. The system has worked great and have reduced our electric and propane bills substantially. It's a really nice quiet system. I would highly recommend this company, even if they are not the lowest bidder, which they were not in our case. We had lower and higher bids, but I'm glad we went with AP Mathews and would do it again.

It went great-- the technician arrived within the time window and quickly found the issue. Turned out my controller wasn't messed up, it was a drain pump. He took the pump off and re-routed the drain, resulting in a draining system that was more efficient and didn't require a pump anymore-- win-win. Definitely a plus when the tech is getting excited about a solution that is quick and makes everyone's lives easier.

Dave from A.P. Mathews troubleshot our HVAC issue quickly, literally within minutes whereas our previous service provider technician (from one of the biggest HVAC service provider) spent hours without really fixing the issues. In short we are very pleased from the service rendered by A.P. Mathews. Everything was excellent, communication\expertise\price\professionalism. Would highly recommend.

EXCELLENT-FAIR PRICING-PROMPT SERVICE

I had to end up having to order a necessary part. It worked! Ms. Mathews was so kind, informative - made you feel like you were talking to family.

AP Matthews reviewed the system I had and made some recommendations for the new heat pump (Trane). They were on time, removed the old unit and rebuilt some of the duct work the installation was very organized and the attention to detail was outstanding. Additionally, they handled the warranty paper work and the power company rebate. I'm very satisfied with the work they performed. On the other hand my long term previous company (well rated on Angie's List) wanted 3k more for the same equipment and didn't try to match the offer. Pay's to get quotes. APM should be on top of everyone's list.

Estimate was quick and clear, A.P. Matthews provided the lowest cost proposal with the best solution. They avoided opening up drywall to replace cooling lines by running new lines outside of the house and enclosing with a vinyl conduit that matches the siding. They were able to include the additional vents and returns a part of the project while keeping the price affordable. Larger companies only seemed interested in selling and installing replacement equipment. (even if it wasn't needed). The overall comfort of my home has been improved. Multiple problems solved in 5 hours.

Terrific job. Paul recommended converting from two 19 yr old AC/Propane systems to two high efficiency Heat Pump/Propane systems, plus install a damper system to isolate the upstairs, and install Mitsubishi mini-split heat pump system in the kitchen and sun room. It was a very big job and all completed in three days. Also installed a new water heater.

Technician assessed entire system and found no mechanical problems. He did siggest that the saddle valve on the water supply line could be clogged. He did not have a replacement valve on hand and said he could order it and come back to install or I could buy it at a hardware or plumbing supply store for a far lower price and install it myself if I was comfortable with that. Since I had just replaced my water heater (electric) myself i said I could handle it. The charge for the service call was $125, I think. He said since he didn't really did anything he would call the office to see if that could be reduced. He was able to get it down to $90. Whether that was true, it made me feel better. I purchased and replaced the valve per his recommendation, which provided better flow than the original valve. The unit now works fine.

Overall it went well. Paul provided good information on the walk through and they did what they said the would do in a timely fashion. A bit better communication in the written quote and on organizing the work would have made this excellent. That said, they provided a very reasonable price, installed good equipment and were careful about the house. Also they have a connection to get new cast-iron radiators that are great. The only other thing would have appreciated is better communication about having the radiators come in primer only. While not a huge deal and somewhat on us, making that clear would have helped us problem solve better before the installation. Very happy with the install and everything is working well four months later.

I called probably during their busiest period (mid-July) when my AC went out. While they couldn't fit me in right away, Paul (I believe his name) did offer me a standalone cooling unit to get me through until they were able to get out. Since it was only a few days I turned him down (which was stupid of me), but that offer was but a sample of the top notch service I was to get. On the day of the install, things went smoothly and professionally. I stayed out of the way by playing video games the whole time and before I knew it, cool air was once again flowing in the house. A few things of note: 1) They did not try to sell me anything more than what I needed. I was provided with a quote listing the parts to be installed, and in doing my due diligence, I found it was the perfect suggestion for the size of my house. 2) The price was incredibly reasonable. As above, I also did some research on what I was being charged, and it ended up being under the average of a house my size. (I live in a duplex.) Bottom line, I can't recommend this company enough, and I while I hope I won't have to do business with them in the future (because, really, no one likes spending money on non-fun things), if I do run into a heating or AC issue, my first call is to A.P. Mathews. Great prices and rock solid customer service.

A.P. Matthews was super responsive and provided exceptional customer service. Jerry checked in with us throughout the day and when our heat was not going up she had a technician come out on a Friday evening. Paul, our technician, was great and hoping his fix makes a change to the temperature of the house. Thank you, A.P., you have gained a loyal customer!

It went very well. Everyone throughout this company performed their duties as expected. The salesman Paul is hands down the most knowledgeable person one can hope for when making such a large investment.
