This company is great. Very responsive - I would highly recommend them. They were our second opinion and turns out we did not need a new unit as another company said we did. The capacitor was replaced and additional refrigerant added.

General maintenance of the existing furnace and AC unit. We are now looking at a propane conversion and swapping the AC unit to a Heat Pump. Excellent and thorough advice on this new project. Looking forward to writing another review after the new system is up and running this winter.

I called this company in the morning; Paul came out by noon. I can not begin to express my thankfulness for finding this company. When I talked to him on the phone I felt like I was talking to someone knowledgeable and decent. When he came, after a short time, he found a problem that was relatively minor. A safety switch had been tripped which resulted in my A/C unit shutting down. If Paul had been dishonest, he could have told us that we needed a new unit resulting in thousands of dollars in costs. Instead he was super honest and fixed the problem. He didn't try to push his sales on us for a new system (which we will def need in the future). Instead he told us he would get us an estimate but we can take our time and figure it all out. I will absolutely recommend this service provider....one of the most decent ones I've used and would def recommend them.

Paul was punctual and very professional. Because of defaults on the Nest, installation for my old heat pump situation was a bear. Paul stayed with it until we both were happy everything was running right, AND he even came back later that evening (no extra cost) when I was worried that maybe my settings needed to be tweaked--on a Saturday! He even gave me a free refrigerant boost for my system since the installation went long. Dependable, affordable, and professional. I would definitely use his services again.

Amazing! Our heat pump kept tripping the breaker and we lost heat in the middle of the night. I left a message and they called me back at 8am and had a technician at our house 45 minutes later. He was professional and informative and got us back up and running quickly. I can not thank them enough!

Called for service because our heating unit blew the circuit breaker twice and we anticipated it would continue. It did not so I repeatedly called to cancel but had to leave a message. So the servicemen showed up. Since they were here we had the unit checked. He said the fan motor was going out and we should not use it due to risk of fire. OK, so we turned it off and scheduled to have it replaced and also the circuit breaker - all this stuff is about 8 years old ( not installed by Matthews). Two days later they came to replace the fan (it had to be ordered) and breaker. It went well and they did the job fairly quickly. I was surprised they did not have a flashlight to see the wiring but we gave them one to use. The only glitch was the unit and replacement motor had a different number of wires. They knew how to handle that apparently. Unit is working fine. They are a little on the expensive side but they were Johnny on the spot when called and worked around our schedule. This is the second time we have used them and will use them again.

A service call for no heat was made the same day as my call. The furnace repair went smoothly. I have used AP Mathews twice and both services calls were perfect. I could not recommend more highly.

The technician (Matt) was on time, got right to work, cleaned up after, and gave me some helpful information about when to replace the furnace. (Surprise - don't need to anytime soon!) When I called to schedule the service, the customer service woman (did not catch her name) was very nice and a pleasure to work with on finding an appointment time. Really appreciate that this company showed up on time - had several dealings with other companies that did not respect schedules. Will certainly call Mathews for heating or A/C work in the future.

Tenants called Sunday morning Labor Day weekend and reported that the Air Conditioner wasn't working. I called AP Mathews around 11:00 AM. The unit was repaired within fours hours. It doesn't get much better than that.

I made service call the day it broke , A very professional tech showed up next day first thing , and bad capacitor was the problem / cause he repaired in one visit , quickly and for a fair price , U get what u pay for any more I simply could not believe he had the exact part on his truck ? but he did !!! my AC has worked just fine ever since , my wife and I highly recommend this company for all our HVAC needs , we have many times over the years in our last 3 homes , and always same great reliable service / professional since early 1990's in our first starter home They also have very klean nice work new looking vans , this is a no brainier your are dealing with some body who cares

Very well. Very fast dispatch. When you have an issue, they send someone out as soon as possible, so there's no waiting.

Technician was on time - diagnosed the problem quickly - had necessary part and replaced it quickly and professionally. Technician was knowledgeable and courteous. $80 for the part - $120 for labor. Seemed about right to me but I didn't have a second opinion. Overall = Very impressed and I'd certainly use 'em again.

Our A/C went out on a hot summer Saturday. After giving up fighting with our home warranty to provide service on the weekend, we called AP Mathews the following Sunday afternoon. AP Mathews was much more motivated and responsive. In less than an hour after calling them the repair man showed up and fixed the problem in 45 minutes. He replaced two parts and the total included parts and labor. Will definitely use them in the future for our AC and heating needs.

Based on reviews on Angie's List, we called A.P. Mathews for an estimate to replace an aging heat pump. Paul Mathews came to our home to discuss options, and provided information on several units to consider, based on efficiency, price, etc. He explained the major differences between the models, but did not "push" one over the other. The next day, he emailed two proposals detailing specifications, warranty coverage, price, etc. We chose to go with the Trane XL16i, and install date was set for June 16. The installation of the new unit went smoothly. The technicians arrived on schedule and began work immediately. The indoor unit is in a closet in the family room. A canvas tarp was put down to protect the carpeting. I was kept posted as to the progress of the installation, and all work was completed that day. When the new unit was up and running, the tech explained basic aspects of the unit, such as the appropriate replacement filter size and how to install, as well as a tutorial on the new programmable thermostat for the unit. Before leaving, the work areas both inside and outside were cleaned up beautifully, and the old heat pump hauled away. It was a pleasure working with Paul Mathews and his team. All were professional and personable, and answered all questions in a patient and helpful manner. Based on this experience, I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone, and plan to call A.P. Mathews for maintenance/service.

Our unit failed the evening before and I called first thing the next morning. I explained the mitigating circumstances that I needed someone today. The woman made a few suggestions that we had already done and then agreed to squeeze us in that afternoon. She even offered to do research on our thermostat. She also suggested I look at a few other things which were helpful but did not solve the problem - more informational for me. I appreciated that. I had read one review that mentioned they were a no show but not this time. The woman called to say Matt would be there in about an hour. Matt drove up as promised. Let me mention that the temperature was about 97 degrees. Matt was running to one broken AC after another. He immediately diagnosed the problem as being with the outside unit. He went out, found it had a failed capacitor and he replaced it quickly. He came in to verify the unit was actually cooling. He must have done it in 30 minutes. He was very professional. I can not say enough about their willingness to work us in and to get the job done quickly. AP Mathews will be my go to provider for AC. I wish the price was less but, it was fair.

Matt was very professional. Not only did he fix the problem with my AC quickly but took the time to look at my furnace unit, made suggestions for setting up a fall tuneup, and gave me a referral for cleaning the ducts. I have added his name and A P Mathews Heating and Air Conditioning to my list of "go to people" for my condo upkeep.

Not good. Made a 5pm appointment weeks ago. Received a phone call a 4:50pm saying that they couldn't make it until 6pm. By 6:40pm, no one had showed up or called. I called them back, received no answer and left a voicemail. STILL waiting to hear back. I took off work to be able to meet them at 5pm. Lousy company.

He checked the unit and discovered that the main power plug outside was put in upside down. That happened due to my siding contractor not replacing it properly when they were finished. That mistake cost me hundreds of dollars this past winter, because the unit was running on emergency heat only and I had no idea.....just thought it was because it was a subzero, unusually frigid winter. I just could not get the house warm and the unit ran nonstop. Anyway, AP Matthews arrived on time, checked out the unit and discovered the error. I asked him to go ahead and give the unit a tune up. He checked everything, and told me the refrigerant was good, the coils were clean and all looked good! When I asked about payment, he said I owed nothing!!!!! I was so impressed. I can't thank them enough. I will absolutely use their services in the future. It isn't often these days that we feel we get honest service. Thank you so Much!!!!

We have a service contract with AC Matthews. They have consistently been super responsive and professional. This time we had a cracked drain pipe in the upstairs heat exchanger that was leaking through the ceiling. I call AC Matthews and they showed up within the hour! Thirty minutes later it was fixed. Cost = $0.00. I cannot speak highly enough about this company and their staff. Responsive, professional, competent and just really pleasant to deal with. We trust them and am so pleased to have found them. Make no mistake, they are in business and it isn't a charity but I feel strongly that I get what I pay for. We have been very pleased. Finding a good service company that you can trust is a rarity. Give them a try.

They sent out two to three technicians to install heat pump system. They completed the work in one day. The technicians knew what they were doing, they were diligent and did a good job. I had to wait a week to ten days to get service, but that is understandable in the summer months.

The service was good. The workers were very friendly, he didn't try to sell us a new furnace or anything, he just fixed it. He is on Angie's List, so he gave us a discount. He was very prompt, and on time. I would recommend them. They were very professional, very friendly, on time, and they were very accommodating. They fixed the furnace without replacing the board, and they replaced pieces on the board. It is an old furnace, and they knew what to do.
