Paul and his crew are great. They are the best in the business. We have used them for years to help nurse along our 20+ year oil furnace and A/C. They are always punctual, polite, competitively priced, and have creative solutions for antiquated equipment. The new system is super quiet and beautifully installed.

Paul rocks! When I got home around 7:30 pm, the temperature inside the house was 57 degrees and falling. The blower went on but not the heat, and it smelled of gas so I turned the system off. I called AP Mathews and left a message. Then I went on their website and completed the online form, checking the box for emergency service. Paul called within a few minutes and said he was notified by the form, not the voice message. He said he would be here in 1/2 hour, which means he left about that very minute. From my description, he knew it was the igniter and he replaced it quickly. He accepted the Angies List $10 coupon. It's now 9 pm and everything is back to normal in the house. Thanks, Paul!

Paul was fast to arrive, fast to diagnose and fast to repair. He arrived after my wife went to Sunday services and was gone before she came back. I could not ask for better. This has been the 2nd time I have gone to this company in the last two years and I recommend them.

I am an engineer and like to understand what will be done ahead of time. Paul was very responsive and patient in developing the new system with me, selecting the appropriate components, and working out the ducting runs. During installation, his crew was camped out in our attic for a whole week and overall did a very good job. There were a few instances when I was glad that I was there to keep an eye on things, but that's to be expected -- no one is perfect. The new system is quiet -- we can barely tell when it's running -- and keeps our home much more comfortable both in the winter and in the summer.

Technician arrived at the appointed hour and was quite friendly and courteous. He went right to work and was quite efficient with his time and efforts, considering that this is first time we have used this contractor. Technician was very professional and knowledgeable, as well as personable. Both AC units required additional coolant, as these systems had not been serviced in almost 18 months. Gas furnace was adjusted for efficiency. Filters were checked and cleaned. Thermostats were checked and tested. Technician was quite thorough in his efforts. I would readily recommend this contractor for this type of service.

It went fine Mr. Mathews explained what he found and was very professional. They cleaned up after they were finished.

Paul from A.P. Matthews was professional and responsive. Even though I did not go with their estimate, he took time to answer questions and help me understand options. I will definitely call them for another estimate or for a service call if I ever have a need for my heating and a/c in the future.

This company is fantastic! A++ all the way around. They came out on a Saturday late evening when every other company I called said I had to wait until Monday for help. My AC had stopped working and it was HOTT that weekend. I was grateful they came out and then I braced myself for the bill...$125.00! DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL THIS COMPANY. I intend to take an AC policy out with them as that too is well priced. The men were polite, fast and my AC has been working great since then. Thank you A.P. Mathews and Angies List. We used this company again July 2012 and honestly you CANNOT find a more honest, super fast, reasonably priced company then this. I've recommended them to many people and they are always pleased. Excellent experience from start to finish!

I used their online form on Wednesday to request a service appointment. They called me back in less than 15 minutes and were able to schedule an appointment for Friday between 12 and 2 pm. Matt arrived at 12:30 pm and he was able to inspect and service our unit quickly. He even went so far as to make a door for our filter (as requested by the home inspection) with materials from his truck at no additional charge. He was very friendly and professional. Very happy with their service and will definitely use them again!

Overall, the price and quality of installation was fine. I must mention that this was done at a rental property that I own. The problem was that two holes were cut in the ceiling for the installation of lines/connection from furnace to AC. This was mentioned in the contract. The technician, Paul, stated that he could use his person for the drywall repair and pay half of the cost. I agreed that this was OK with me. I was on my way out of town the day after installation, but did stop to pay the contract cost. I called the next morning and asked the receptionist to ask Paul to send me the invoice cost for the drywall repair because I was on my way out of town until 7/30. When I got back and called to inquired on/about 8/3, about the repair, I found that it had not been done and was told that follow-up would be done. I called again on 8/17 and the repair still had not been done. I was told that the tenant could not be reached because the VM was full. No one called me and my name and number were available (signed contract and paid in full). This is my point of contention because it makes me seem negligent, yet I was operating on the fact that Paul would have his drywall person to complete the repair and send bill me for half of the cost, as he stated. Consequently, the tenant has had a hole in the ceiling from 7/19 until now (8/22 - the day I wrote this) and blames me for being negligent!! Had I known that this was to be the case, I would have found someone to complete the drywall repair immediately after installation so that it would have been done by the time I got back into town. If the job was not totally completed, I should have been made aware of any problems that might have inhibited the completion. Follow up is important!! I indicated that I would use them again, but it is with reservation. And yes, they did install the furnace anc AC, but my concern has been stated. Had it not been for the matter of the follow-up, I would have given an overall of "A". Thank you.

Overall -- it went great from start to finish. Kenny was an expert technician who quckly solved the problem. Receiving same day service at a time when lots of other customers were demanding service was fantastic.

Wow! This company certainly deserves to be on the Angies top award list. Excellent customer service! While other companies immediately told me that our AC needed to be replaced, AP Matthews tried their best and found parts to repair our AC unit however, based on the age of our unit vs. cost, we decided to have the unit replaced. This company is trustworthly and professional. If it wasn't for me being a member of angies list, I certainly never would have found this company even though they are only a few miles away. Found my AC/heating company for life!

I called A.P. Mathews because of the positive reviews here in addition to another company. According to both companies ours was a straight forward replacement with in-stock items however A.P Mathews' written, itemized proposal was under the other company and they were able to do install four days sooner. Paul was very professional and easy to work with. Their team showed up on time and were done before I knew it. As an added bonus they were great with my gentle but large and enthusiastic dogs. Replacing an A/C unit is never fun but our experience with A.P. Mathews was great.

I called three local services which we have dealt with in the past and decided to include APM as they had given excellent advice over the phone last year regarding the tax break and the ineligibility of our Carrier system (which does not have the required variable speed function). As another person mentioned, I left a voice mail with my number and received a call back within 10 minutes. The estimate for the call (115.00) was about 20 dollars less than the other two quotes plus there was an Angies List discount. Service arrived 15 minutes earlier than expected and though we warned that the part might not be in stock - it was and the repair was completed about six hours later. Billing was spot on to what was described and a bit less than I expected the job to cost. So happy all around.

They have been very good so far. They did what they said they were going to do, they did the work well, and I think the price was reasonable for what they provided. They are courteous, they are punctual, and they clean up after themselves. If it weren’t for the fact that the air system started working, you wouldn’t know they had been here. I have already decided to continue using them and they are going to be coming back to clean the external coils.

They were good. He thought he would have to replace the entire elbow vent, but he was able to repair it and he saved me some money. I think I spent around $300 for the work. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future.

Initial call was due to the air conditioning unit not producing cool air. A service technician came out and diagnosed the problem as having a burned out condensor motor. A new motor needed to be ordered and company representatives followed up with phone calls during the week to give me updates on the status. When the part arrived, they scheduled me for the next day to install the motor. The service technicians were professional; they came in and went straight to work and had the motor installed quickly. Job well done!

They came out right away. They were on time and in the window they gave us. They were very professional. They came right in and took a look at everything. They diagnosed the problem pretty quickly and it was something that we thought it was. They took care of it and left. They were very responsive.

Overall it was a pleasant experience. The Goodman heat pump was about 10-12 years old and showing it's age. Quick and relatively painless repair. Cost iwas in line with professionals doing what they are trained to do.

Paul Mathews and co were responsive and professional. I got three different quotes to get my HVAC replaced along with another quote on a hot water heater. Paul's prices were competitive and I prefer to work with smaller companies so I went with him. I got a Trane HVAC system. My only complaint was that the old concrete slab that my AC unit sat on was dumped into a flower bed and not hauled away. I called and left a voice ail but got no call back.

They were great. They were super responsive which was critical with the heat out and a pregnant wife in January. The workers were extremely knswledgable and friendly. We are definitely using them for all future HVAC needs.

They performed only the work required, and the part was available in their inventory. No waiting for them to find the part or return another day. They provided the estimate one and two days later installed the device. They did it with a minimum amount of disruption, provided good instructions as to how the device would work and completely cleaned up after they finished.
