We started looking for a contractor in late spring and settled on Tony in August. He said he would start the project on October 20, but was able to begin over one week early. We are always kept informed as to what is happening, what time his guys will arrive and who will be there, and what the next step will be. So far, everything is going smoothly, and fast. We have only cudos, no complaints. Tony and his crew are actively working on this project now. The installation has been challenging (because of dormer angles, uneven flooring, integrating old work with new), but Tony is always calm, patient, and tactful. He has great ideas for fixing problems as they come up. His tile installer, Istvan, is a genius. He has made our floor not only beautiful, but level. I can't wait to see how the shower will look. Update The project is now complete. We couldn't be more happy with the results. It took a little longer than anticipated because the glass for the shower had a flaw and needed to be returned. Tony expedited the delivery and installation but it still added a week to the completion. No complaints from me; I'd rather wait a little and have the job done right. All of the people who work with Tony and therefore with me are excellent at their jobs. Paul, who does carpentry, and his helper Eli did a beautiful job with the beadboard and trim. We used the individual slat type so it's a painstaking process to patiently install each board. Sonny, the stonemason, delivered the soapstone used to cap two walls and a window ledge in a day. Jeff, the plumber, is also great. He was there every time he was needed, even coming back a couple of times within a day or two to make minor adjustments to the toilet and shower diverter. The installation of all the faucets and fixtures is just perfect. The glass guys were very helpful with their recommendations and were prompt in getting the re-ordered glass installed. They even waited until midnight for the truck delivering the glass so that it could be installed ASAP. As for Tony, he is always available and has great ideas for fixing issues; he ran all over town looking for a suitable part so that the faucet we purchased didn't fall through the oversized hole in the 1920's antique sink we used. He very tactfully stopped me from making a couple of bad choices that would have ruined the look we wanted. All these guys take great pride in their work and it shows. I know there a a lot of superlatives in this review but they are well earned.
Description of Work: Morgan Construction is providing materials and labor for tiling the floor and shower area, including glass panels, on an attic bathroom installation in our 60-year-old house. The are installing all the fixtures provided by us -- claw foot tub, pedestal sink, toilet, shower valves, sink and tub faucets, and shower drain. They are installing bead board wainscot and trim, a long soapstone ledge under the windows and soapstone caps on two half walls. They are making two dormer access panels using bead board that will disappear into the wainscot. A lot, but not all of the plumbing was in place. They are making the sewer main drain connection. The work includes some electrical. The contract does not include painting.

Overall, experience was great! The team was easy to work with and very responsive to our questions and requests. The project was completed on time even with some unplanned delays. Quality of work is high. This is the third contractor we worked with in the last 5 years and very pleased.

If it were possible to give Morgan Building and Remodeling more than 5 stars I would. The quality of work was outstanding. Like most construction projects, when things get opened-up unexpected problems reveal themselves. Mr. Morgan, the owner, handled these in stride and always had great ides on how to repair them - always providing me with a low cost option and a higher cost option. Likewise, during the course of construction, there were multiple times when I changed my mind about what I wanted him to do. Mr. Morgan was very accommodating and patient even though, at times, even I felt like I had him attached to a yo-yo. He made every change I requested and tried very hard to do so within the parameters of the estimate he originally provided. Succeeding more times than not. His crew was polite, knowledgeable, talented, arrived every morning on time and ended each day by cleaning up after themselves. On occasions when they wanted to stay late to finish something, they always asked permission to do so. His sub-contractor that did the tiling was equally polite, prompt and highly skilled. Their tile work was superb. I felt the price was fair for what he was asked to do. Even more so now that I have seen the high quality of the completed work. I have additional remodeling that I plan to do in 2015. I don't feel there is a need to bid out these future projects. I will just pick up the phone and call Mr. Morgan.

Let me start by saying we were very hesitant to commit to any contractor because of past experiences but Tony was the only one that was very patient with us throughout the process. What impressed me most about Morgan Building and Remodeling was that Tony put so much time and effort into developing plans for our remodel and working with us on the design before we even signed a contract. When the contract was presented to us Tony had every detail covered and it made me feel very comfortable that the work we wanted done would be done and we'd stay at or near our budget. We signed our contract and Tony gave us a start date. They started on time and Tony made sure I knew when they'd be there and when they wouldn't. I was never left wondering if they were coming. The employees of Morgan Building and Remodeling were exceptional. They were always polite and prompt. We were living in the house while the entire lower level was under construction and they were always patient with us as we have 3 kids one of which is under 2 and 2 dogs. At the end of everyday they cleaned up and put tarps over the floors so we could walk down there without getting hurt. For my wife and I communication is key and Tony and his employees were always available to discuss concerns with us. We never felt that we were bothering them or that we were being to picky. If we wanted something changed we'd discuss it and it would be addressed. Work ethic and attention to detail is something I'd say is so important when finding and contractor and Morgan Building & Remodeling exemplifies that. While we were on vacation they worked late everyday as verified with my neighbors. They did everything they could including working a weekend while we were away for a wedding to get us back into our kitchen as soon as possible. They actually finished a week early. It's been a little over a month since the job was completed and we couldn't be happier. We've had a couple issues with a cabinet and Tony has been on top of it. It should be resolved this week but I'm not worried as Tony calls me regularly to give me status updates. In closing I can say that if you choose Morgan Building and Remodeling you will get high quality work at a competitive price.

Our kitchen renovation was about as smooth as a kitchen renovation could go. They actually finished the renovation ahead of schedule, which is probably unheard of. During the planning process, Tony and all of his vendors were very easy to work with. Tony always replied promptly to all of our (many) emails or phone calls and was very honest when providing us with ideas or recommendations for the kitchen. We never felt that he was trying to add costs to the project; instead, he was able to provide good advice based on his experience and helped us to save money in a few areas. During the kitchen renovation, the crew was very pleasant. They always cleaned up before they left and ensured that we were aware of the current status of the project and any significant developments. We're also very happy with the quality of the work. Everything looks amazing and we're very happy with the end result. Although there were a few unexpected expenses that popped up during the renovation, Tony honored our original contract estimate, which we were pleasantry surprised by. He has also offered to return to help us with an unrelated refrigerator issue (we had a dent in the fridge door due to a delivery issue. We are getting a new door delivered and he has offered to return to help us install it). Overall, we had a great experience. We definitely recommend using Tony and his crew.
Description of Work: They provided a kitchen renovation, to include demo and remodeling. We moved the refrigerator to a new location in the room, widened a doorway, built a broom closet, and added a pantry. The renovation also included adding a new gas line, moving water lines, installing cabinetry, installing new lighting to include ceiling and under-cabinet, laying floor tile, installing backsplash and putting in a new granite counter. They also worked with us to make the room paint-ready, as we wanted to paint the room ourselves.

Work started at our home a week after we set up the initial consultation with Morgan Building and Remodeling. Tony and Paul showed up on time and were courteous, professional, and friendly. Over the course of four days, they installed and painted crown molding (you cannot even tell where the seams are), installed door and door jambs (which was not as easy task due to the age of our house). When they were working in the house, I felt safe; I mention this because in the past we had workers who I was uncomfortable being in the house alone with. At the completion of each day, they cleaned up so well, you would not have guessed I had workers in the house all day. The entire project turned out even more beautiful then I imagined it would. Their professionalism and pride in their work is more than obvious and the cost was reasonable. We will call them for our next project!

I recently bought and moved into a house built in 1985 that had the original kitchen. It had scratched and chipped laminate counters, melmac cabinets and drawers that were falling apart. I am a very experienced DIYer and usually do my own renovations, but a whole kitchen was a little much for me. The old kitchen was quite fugly, and had to go. Being new to the area, I didn't know any good contractors, so I researched on Angile's List and from the reviews here, I settled on using Tony Morgan. He returned my call quickly, same out promptly, listened to what I had in mind and put together a good, comprehensive estimate. He estimated it would take 2 weeks for the whole job. It was obvious he knew what he was doing, and he consulted with me on some thoughts I had that he suggested would not be necessary. He had the opportunity here to throw on more work but instead gave me good advice that saved me money instead of "padding" the job. That was refreshing. Tony's interest and focus is on performing and supervising the work, so he referred me to a kitchen shop for the cabinets, a tile shop for the tile, and a granite shop for the counter tops. I got all the design assistance I needed at those shops and ended up selecting everything I needed at the price point I wanted. All his referrals were simply great to deal with and I got quality at every turn. Once I selected everything, Tony coordinated everything from there. The only thing I managed myself was getting the cabinet hardware and new appliances, which he installed as part of the renovation. He started the job when he said he would. He and his crew kept everything moving and cleaned up after themselves. He was there every day to supervise the subs at every turn. Most all of the actual work was done by he and Paul. The whole job was completed on schedule and right on budget. His initial estimate was right on except for a couple upgrades I decided to add during the renovation. If I had not change these things, the estimate was precise. He was also great at making those changes on the fly. The new kitchen turned out fantastic. The workmanship and attention to detail was superb. I can tell when work is shoddy or not done carefully. That was NOT the case here. Tony, his subs and his referrals were all competent, friendly and honest. The job went smoothly from the first call to that last walk through. I couldn't be more satisfied, and I have no hesitation in referring this contractor to others who want an honest contractor who does what is promised and on budget.
Description of Work: Complete kitchen renovation. Closed up a wall. Gutted the old kitchen. Installed new electrical circuits. Upgraded the house's breaker panel. Moved plumbing. Installed new cabinets, sink, ceiling lights, under-cabinet lights, pendant lights and plumbing.

Tony Morgan was an excellent contractor to work with. They arrived punctually every day. He was very responsive to emails, texts, and calls. The work was completed in a timely and professional manner, with a high degree of quality. All aspects of the worksmanship were excellent. When we had a few issues with fixtures we had purchased on our own, Tony went out of his way to procure the missing pieces of hardware and adjust his schedule as necessary to get the job done.

We live in a typical colonial style home with a small kitchen that opens on one side to our family room and the other side to a dining room. We also had living room off the dining room that was much larger and never used. We wanted to knock the wall down between kitchen and dining room and then change living room to our dining room. We had 3 bids, of which Tony Morgan of Morgan Remodeling, was one. From the moment he came into our house, I was impressed. He arrived on time, very personable and answered about 100 questions I had. He wanted to know what I wanted to get out of the new kitchen to really understand what I wanted. He then took measurements, told us he would have layout for us to look at within 48 hrs. As he was leaving he noticed the pictures of my son who is currently serving in US Navy. He asked us about him, what he was doing, thanked us for his service, and let us know he had been in the Navy as well. That extra 5-6 min he spent asking about our son solidified for me that he was the right man for the job! He developed a relationship with us that enabled us to like and trust him. I told my husband that night, I don't know what the bid will be, but right now he has my vote! No one else took that kind of time with us or the time to get to know us as people, not just a bid he wanted to get! I was surprised and excited to see his bid came in and was much lower than the other 2. The bid was specific, included everything and was easy to understand. The others were confusing, very vague, and left us to wonder what our total costs would end up being. Throughout the process Tony kept informed, answered every question, and made suggestions that we loved. We started the project on January 20th, he told us it would be 4-6 weeks in length. On that morning, him and his crew arrived at 8:30am, and insured that we understood what the next few weeks would bring. We took pics of the before so I could remember what I had as the new would be so different! Every day he arrived on time, every night we recapped for us and showed us what they accomplished and what would happen the next day. He also made sure that they left the space clean. So clean that we really never had a dust problem! As things came up, he talked to us about it and made recommendations. Throughout the entire process we were kept informed. Right from the start there was an issue with the plumbing as it was located where they didn't expect and they had to move it. That took an extra day, but he showed us what he needed to do and did it and never charged us more for that even though there was no way he could have predicted it. There goal was always to make sure they worked quickly, but efficiently so they could get us our kitchen back as quickly as possible. Everyone that we came in contact with that he brought in were professionals. From the electricians, to the drywall guy, to Derrick with Solstice Cabinets, and Sonny with Top Granite, and the men who did our backsplash, everyone went above and beyond. They were done in 16 days! They even worked a Sunday to get it done before the projected date. This is the first major remodel my husband and I have ever been through. You hear horror stories from friends and relatives so we really did not have high expectations. Tony and Morgan Remodeling did a phenomenal job and we now have them doing a bathroom for us! I would recommend them to anyone and our kitchen is just so beautiful! I am over the moon in love with it! Thank-you Tony!!! They truly are a first class company!

Mr. Morgan and his crew were flexible with my schedule and installed on a Saturday morning. They were punctual and efficient. Within 5 hours they had the job complete, cleaned up any mess they had made in the rooms and the garage where cutting was performed, and even re-caulked some existing crown molding in my living room. Overall great experience, I will definitely use them in the future.

He promptly provided me with an estimate and time frame for the work. Mr. Morgan started the job when he said he would, and he finished in the timely manner that was estimated. Tony Morgan, owner of Morgan Building and Remodeling LLC, exemplifies total excellence in professionalism, attention to detail, and follow up! We found Tony on Angie?s List listed as kitchen contractor of the year. It was our intention to obtain three contractor quotes for our kitchen remodel with Tony being the first for the initial planning stages starting in late November when he first came out for our initial visit. As it turned out, three months later, when Tony was still coming out to the house for additional measurements, plan revisions, and contract updates on his own time without any commitment from us, we knew we had the right person for the job. Our house is a 1960s rancher in need of a lot of updates. The outdated kitchen was particularly a bother to us. It was difficult designing a plan that would modify our existing floor plans with respect to both budgeting and improving the overall layout for a more modern feel. Tony was very patient with us on this. He took into account what we wanted and worked diligently to get everything on the contract to our satisfaction to avoid unbudgeted add-on expenditures. On the day we signed the contract, Tony reviewed the overall plan with expectations of having the project completed in about a month. He reviewed what would occur each week. We arranged a tentative start date. One week prior, Tony contacted us and asked for a one week extension in order to complete another project and dedicate a 100% to ours which we agreed to. We were not disappointed. The first day I saw Tony in action, he was directing his staff on the bearing wall expansion and fabrication of a new load bearing header. I was very curious and went to listen to him as he commanded orders, inspected, and reviewed techniques with the men as to why the procedure needed to be carried out a certain way. He was 100% immersed into the job. His coworkers, Paul and Joe, also took great pride in their work. Everyone was consistent with adherence to a daily routine of arriving early am to get started and tidying up before leaving at the end of the day, hauling away the old trash and debris. It was interesting to see how excited they were on the day the granite went in. I was surprised with the interest and enthusiasm throughout the project. True to his word, our gorgeous ?new, model home? kitchen was completed in just a little over a month. We are very pleased with the results, but also with Tony?s follow through to ensure everything has been completed to our satisfaction, including little extras like switching out shelf brackets, getting a new shelf made that had some damage and hauling out the old dishwasher we decided not to save. It?s things like these that separate him from other contractors. We?ve already recommended Tony to a couple of our neighbors and are hoping to have him back here again soon to get started on our deck project. Angie?s List was right. Tony Morgan is kitchen contractor of the year!

He started work very soon after we agreed on the final design, and he was finished within a week. He left the job site clean at the end of each day. His finish work was excellent! Our new sliding door looks like it has always been there; the installation was so precise that we didn't need to paint anything around the new opening he created. He also dealt with all the permitting and inspection requirements, so I didn't need to do anything. We have used and will continue to use Morgan Building for our contracting needs.
Description of Work: Tony built a great deck for us for several thousand dollars less than what other companies quoted. He also replaced two adjacent kitchen windows with a new sliding glass door. He provided several designs that I asked for -- with stairs, without stairs, different sizes -- and gave a price for each design. The final design included extra posts we requested, and his quoted price included all aspects of the project. Our new deck is a sturdy, well constructed addition to our home, and we've received many compliments from our neighbors.

We can't say enough about this company. The employees are absolutely wonderful to deal with and there were approximately 8 to 9 different people involved in the project. It was obvious from the very beginning that they take great pride in their work. The work area was cleaned up each day and we were informed of what to expect at every stage of the project. The end result was better than we had envisioned. Pictures really do not do it justice - it has to be seen to be appreciated. We would HIGHLY recommend this company and, in fact, are discussing a full basement remodel with them. We cannot think of a better way to show our enthusiasm for their work than to engage them in another project.
Description of Work: Morgan Building framed a bathroom in our basement, built a fulled tiled shower stall, tiled the floor, installed the plumbing (which including removing a concrete floor, laying the pipe and replacing the concrete), electric, toilet, sink, built a closet with 4 shelves, installed a window, 2 doors and all bathroom hardware (towel rack, tissue holder, etc). In other words, they built a bathroom from the ground up where there was no existing plumbing, electric, fixtures, etc.

I contacted Tony to get an estimate on Crown Moulding installation because of all of the positive reviews on Angie's List. All of the reviews were spot on. He responded to me same day, came out to do in in home estimate the next day and was available to perform services right away. We initially started the process but had to put it on hold due to another project taking longer than expected. I contacted him again two weeks before Christmas completely expecting him to be busy until the New Year. He squeezed us in right before Christmas and the job looks amazing. We have a 30 year old home with really uneven walls and ceilings and you would never be able to tell it was an issue. I have several tradesmen in my Family who came over for Christmas dinner and they all said the installation looked great and the price couldn't be beat. We will definitely contact Tony if we need any remodeling or carpentry in the future.

They arrive 15 minutes ahead of scheduled time...and indicated that it would take two hours. Set up outside the house and took measurements inside the house. Installed crown molding. After installation, one man caulked while other man came behind and painted crown molding. Cleaned up so well outside there was nary a trace of sawdust..

Everything went great. Tony is a true professional and clearly takes pride in the quality of his work. He was prompt in contacting me to set up the service, fair in his pricing, and extremely courteous. The installation looks fantastic (it changed the entire room) and they were efficient in getting the job done promptly. I've already lined him up to do another project.

I called Tony after purchasing the Big Deal for crown molding. He mentioned other types of work that he does, and I asked him about my door to the garage that needed to be replaced. He came to look at it the next day. He emailed me an estimate for both jobs, and even though I needed almost double the amount of crown molding specified in the Big Deal, Tony discounted the extra footage. He was able replace the door within a few days and did a great job at a very good price (15% discount). Today Tony and a partner installed the crown molding and gave it a final coat of paint. It looks fantastic! Tony was very easy to work with and was honest, personable and responsive. I plan to redo my kitchen as soon as I can afford it, and I do plan to call Morgan Building & Remodeling.
Description of Work: Replaced door leading to garage, replaced/repaired surrounding jamb and woodwork. Installed and painted crown molding in living room, dining room and hallway per Big Deal.

Tony was very professional, polite and punctual. He did an absolutely fantastic job of installing the crown molding in our living and dining area. With the cost of materials included in the deal, I think it's an absolute bargain. Plus, Tony just charged us for the materials for the extra area. I would not hesitate to go with them for future remodeling needs.
