He did an excellent job and we would highly recommend him to anyone. He was very thorough and fair in his prices and did excellent work.

Really good. Mike is exceptionally thorough and good at what he does. The craftsmanship is excellent and his prices are good. He's not afraid to tell you when something you've asked for isn't the best approach and in the end the outcome was always better following his advice. We're having him back in the spring to do our roof and even more work. Can't recommend his work highly enough.

We love the work that Mike and his crew did for us. He was extremely professional and friendly with our family and did not mind that our kids were interested in every step of the process and were outside observing everything. The work that he did on our house was top notch, done correctly, and meant to last. He was able to point out to us where the problems in the previous work were that were causing us to have leaks through the roof and the siding and was able to correct those. He showed up promptly every day that we expected him and he worked through until the work was completed. We loved working with Mike and would (and have!) recommended him to others. We would love to work with him again!

They did a bathroom remodel in May of 2012. We were most impressed that they were able to get the work done on time so we hired them again in April 2013 for a kitchen remodel.

I like the quality of their work and the integrity of Mike Nichols. They are absolutely reliable and trustworthy. They are creative; I mean how many contractors would even know how to start and build a recording studio. The people are easy to work with. Primarily in our case, I think we are a big enough client that we invariable see Mike.

This was my first time using Angie List service providers, but it was not a good experience. My first call with this company went very well. We talked, briefly, about what I wanted done, and an appointment was made for Mike to come to my home. The first appointment was made for 12/10/12 at 8:00 a.m. But, on that day, the weather was bad, and there was an accident that would be holding him up for awhile. So, understanding his dilemma, we rescheduled for 12/11/12. He arrived promptly, took measurements of my kitchen, and very professionally discussed the project. I was clear during our appointment that I did not want a complete kitchen renovation. I wanted a new floor, dishwasher and garbage disposal installation, connection of my refrigerator's ice maker, and the entire kitchen repainted. At the end of our appointment, he assured me that he would be emailing me his price for the job. Have any of you heard from him? Because, I have not heard a word from him since our appointment. Because I have not been told, otherwise, I have to assume that the job was not LARGE enough for him to give it and quot;the time of day.and quot; What a disappointment!

MIke Nichols is very knowledgeable and talented when it comes to remodeling. He was very good at asking the right questions to understand our requirements, and ended up coming up with a design that was less expensive yet better than the other estimates we got. The bathroom was challenging because it was small, with a sloped ceiling that presented problems for the bathtub shower curtain. Other estimates suggested a custom glass enclosure for $2,000 extra, but Mike explained some drawbacks with that and came up with a better, much cheaper solution. The old exhaust fan was burnt out. Mike suggested installing a new combined light fixtrure/fan and moving it over the tub to provide more light there... a great idea. He also gave us the option to buy tile from him, use his discount and pick out tile at a tile place, or but it ourselves through Lowes or Home Depot. We chose the latter and saved a lot of money. Mike and one assistant did all the work - no subcontracting. The quality of the work was outstanding... it looks beautiful. Given that it is an old house, opening the walls provided some surprises. Mike quickly and effectively came up with work-arounds where needed. We got four estimates for this job. The other estimates were between $8,000 and $14,000. Mike did the job for $5,000, with only a few compromises on our part... e.g., we did the painting ourselves, and had him reinstall the existing toilet, which was in good shape.

I can only say great things about MB Nichols Contracting. For example I had other contractors come out, and none of them took the time to go into all the nitty gritty details about all of the tasks involved, also none of them took the time to go into the crawl space and do a thorough inspection of everything. From start to finish, Mike and his crew turned up on time (7:30am) made no excuses, did a great job in record time, and made sure all the small details were also taken care of. If you are thinking about doing a kitchen remodel, use these guys hands down.

I called and left a voicemail message. He returned my call the next day. He told me over the phone what the job could entail with a price range. He said he would come by on Saturday to "eyeball" the situation...he did come by when he mentioned (I did not have to be present, but I happened to be home). He showed up days later, unannounced, to do my estimate. He stated he would email the estimate by the next day. I didn't receive an email estimate.

Quickly and professionally.

He has done a lot of work for us and for the staff at their homes. He is absolutely top draw. We have several projects that he is working on upcoming.

Since the work resulted in a great improvement over what existed before, I am very pleased with the outcome. Mike gave me exactly what I wanted and cleverly solved some tricky problems. My only complaint is that because he and his assistant worked so fast, I was unable to closely supervise the work, and only after the job was completed (in 2 days) did I discover several minor imperfections, which he later offered to repair.

Mike does outstanding work. He is there when he says he will be there. If there's a problem he calls and let's you know. He does it right the first time. He cleans up daily. He doesn't try to have three or four jobs going at the same time. He is honest, trustworthy and very competitive on price. He is the best!

Mike did an outstanding job. This job was at my 90 year old Mom's house. I engaged Mike because I know I could trust him to do it right!

I RESENT BEING ASKED TO SUBMIT A REPORT A SECOND TIME FOR THIS COMPANY

Mike Nicholls was the best contractor I've ever hired to do work for me. His work was fast, professional and he was exceptionally clean. His dust abatement technique was the best I've seen and when he left, you would have never known he was there - except for the new windows, which were expertly installed and exactly to my specs. He did a great job finding windows that matched existing windows in an adjacent wall. Mike was also extremely punctual and responsive. He showed up on time for the estimate, procured the windows in the timeframe he promised, started work on time and completed the work in one day as promised. He even agreed to take some of my removed siding and replace a section of siding elsewhere on my house that was damaged at no charge. I couldn't have asked for more.

Mike is great. He does excellent work at a fair price. The job was accomplished on time and on budget.

Mike came out the day after I called. He was right on time and worked up an estimate quickly. He was in the neighborhood of other quotes I had received, but I was impressed by his thoughtfulness in how to deal with a joist that the plumbers had cut. He was also available the following week. He showed up when he said he would. He did a great job of controlling dust. He did an outstanding job of clean up including washing the wood work, door frames and basement floor before he left. And by the way he is an artist with spackle!
