Oxi Fresh of Columbia Carpet Cleaning

I was very disappointed with the machine he used. It looked like a glorified vacuum. Usually when carpet is cleaned it leaves a fresh smell behind. There was no dirty liquid, no liquid at all used in the process. My daughter walked through after he was done and her cleaned shocks were dirty.

Great job! Will use again. I was impressed with the method of not using a lot of chemicals. It is more environmentally friendly.

Overall, it was a decent experience. The scheduling was easy, the technician was punctual as well as professional, and they did a good job of removing some tough stains. However, they weren't as successful at removing some Pediasure stains which I feel is due to the kind of chemicals that they used. Additionally, the stain protector that they applied left the carpet stiff in some areas, but this stiffness dissipated after being vacuumed a couple of times.

I have no complaints. The gentleman was here on time. He moved stuff around. He did let me know about a stain that was not possible to remove which I expected. Overall, it was really good. We would use them again.

They were very courteous. They came back until the job was done. The first person sent didn’t have as much experience so he did not get the stains out. I asked them to send someone with more experience and they did. The second appointment took about three weeks to coordinate with them.

My carpets were in pretty decent shape to begin with (no real stains) but needed some help to get out that grayish dingy look in high traffic areas. Oxi Clean did fine to refresh these areas.

The service was punctual and responsive. The technician seemed professional and was very nice. Unfortunately, three of the four pet-related stains on the carpet (some mud. one vomit) reappeared within a week of the cleaning. The carpet otherwise looked clean but in reality it was relatively clean before the service, I just needed those stains removed. This was my first time with this company, but I'll try someplace new in the future.

Since I live by myself I always wanted to make sure I am hiring someone I can trust. He was very nice, prompt, and informative. He was very good.

They did an excellent job. It was person working by themselves and they were great.

March 8, 2014 UPDATE: John, from OxiFresh contacted us and was quite concerned that we were not satisfied with the product and process. He arranged for a 'redo' two days later and returned to our home. Again, I cannot say enough about how professional John is and that he definitely stands behind his product. He sprayed a 'rinse' on our carpets and diluted the aftereffects of the first process. The carpet is significantly softer and overall we do appreciate John's quick response and find that the results are completely satisfactory. Thank you John for your commitment to excellent customer service and quality work. March 5, 2014: ARRIVAL: John arrived on time and was very pleasant and professional. He explained the process of how this 'new' type of machine used very little water and overall the carpet would dry significantly faster because of the process. He also indicated that the cleaning liquid was safe and not harmful to the environment. John was pleased that our carpet was in such good "condition".. and that his job was going to be easier because of the condition of the carpet. My husband helped John throughout the job.. moving furniture and picking up things so that John could 'clean' all exposed areas. THE WORK: The 'cleaning' process was that he sprayed an area with the 'cleaning liquid' then used the machine to scrub the area and showed us that using this solution with so little water the rugs and the padding beneath the rugs would be less likely to accumulate mold and mildew..and showed us the machine tank where very little waste water had accumulated. Initially, we were quite intrigued with the process, John was kind and accommodating.. we purchased the $149 special for 5 areas on Angie's list and paid an extra $49 for each of the back bedrooms.. total $223 (including a tip). When he left we said we were anxious to see the rugs after they dried and would probably call their agency again for a return visit in about 5 months. We did not walk around on the rugs before he left because they were all wet and we were cautioned that the wet rugs were slippery.. so we were willing to wait for the drying.... When he left we felt satisfied that things had gone well.... THE RESULTS: It took 4 hours for the rugs to dry with some spots still wet. Prior to this 'cleaning,' we had beautiful plush soft carpeting which was somewhat dingy from wear and tear... and now we have really rough carpeting no softness and the plushness is totally gone. Evidently there is a residue that is left on the rug after it dries that makes the fibers hard and stiff. We vacuumed the rug and sure enough there is a 'white' powdery substance that came out of the carpet.. Also, the carpet has a residue odor, like powder, that irritates your throat a bit. Overall, we are not satisfied with the results. The rugs are not as plush as the were before the process.. some of the carpet is bit discolored where the dirtiest wear area are like at the top of the stairs. It is almost as if the area was not cleaned yet, we know John 'cleaned' the area. The smell and the aftereffects remind me of using Resolve. I remember one time awhile back our dog got sick on the old rugs we had... and we used Resolve to clean the area.. an what we had done today.. smells, feels and left a residue just like Resolve except on a larger scale. Will I use this company again.. no.. John was great, he was kind, considerate, attentive and diligent.. but the product .. no way.. we are not pleased with the outcome.

The provider was running a little behind from a previous job, but he called and gave us a heads up. When he got there it was straight to work, he evaluated our areas and even put down extra spray (something about enzymes) where our puppy had her accidents. He worked quickly and efficiently. He even help moved our furniture out of the way. After the carpets were cleaned he gave us his name and number and instructions on when to look for stains reappearing and to give him a call if they did. I would share this provider with all of my neighbors.

Scheduling an appointment went very smooth. I thought that the price was fair. They were very professional, personable, and were very interested in doing a good job. They seemed to be knowledgeable and could identify what could be cleaned and if it could not, then why. They spent around five hours completing the work. They did suggest having other work done which kept adding up additional costs. It was all a very satisfactory job.

I originally purchased the $99 Angie's list deal. When I called to schedule the appointment, they recommended I go back and get the $149 deal to save money, so I did. The person scheduling the appointment was very professional and asked lots of detailed questions and explained how the process and pricing worked. I was made aware of additional charges for my hallway and my stairs. After the call I felt very comfortable using the service. When I had to call and reschedule the service, they were very professional as well. The pre-call the day before was professional as well. HOWEVER, upon arrival the technical started upcharging. Even though I talked through the entire place with the person scheduling, we were told that they had to charge more for my stairs because they had landings (despite the fact that it was within the number of steps they had asked about when I scheduled). The technician also indicated that he was going to upcharge for the three bedroom closets, since he considered them all walk-ins. While the scheduler had asked about walk-in closets and I told her I had one in the master bedroom, she did not indicate there would be an additional charge. On top of that, the other two bedrooms did not have walk-in closets at all! In fact, they are just deep enough to hang clothes. After the big scary up charge number, he tried to make us feel like he was cutting up a deal by not charging for all the extras that he had highlights - which felt very unprofessional and at the end of the day, he still charged far too much. When I returned to the house the next day to see the results, I saw that the carpets looked terrible. The entire carpet is crunchy and hard. They carpet did not look like before he cleaned it. I will NEVER use Oxi-Fresh to clean my carpets again!

The service turned out very well. I was impressed with them. The man did not arrive on time, but he apologized, and said that he got two appointments mixed up, and he arrived at another one before ours, but he made up by giving me an extra room. He cleaned the room for free. I was very pleased with how clean the carpet was, and how clean it stayed after he left. He was very professional, very friendly, and the price was good. He messed up but he totally made up for it. I would definitely use him in the future.

Oxi Fresh was prompt, congenial, and when I pointed out the trouble areas with the oil, he said he would do his best to get them out. After he left, it appeared that the stains had been removed, but within a week, they showed up again. In general, however, the balance of the carpet looked good. I believe he did the best he could with the product he used. I doubt I would use this provider again for areas with major stains.

Carpets look fabulous! The tech was outstanding - prompt, professional and reliable. Excellent all around.
