Oxi Fresh of Columbia Carpet Cleaning

Great cleaning company. The tech arrived on time and informed me of everything to be done. The carpets were dry in a matter of a couple of hours or less.

The arrangements were easy to make on-line. I had to change the date after booking, and while nothing seemed available on the website, when I called, the staff was able to accommodate me. When Russell arrived (a bit late due to traffic) and took a look at our carpets (three rooms and a short hallway), he realized they are wool and said that their solvents and process generally don't work well on wool. He spot tested on a water stain on one carpet, and an area of discoloration on the other, confirming that he couldn't clean them. Russell could have just left at that point without charging me for anything, but instead he contacted the owner of another company which specializes in wool rugs and carpets and arranged for him to contact me. (He did so, and I was able to have that company come and clean the carpets the next day. I have a review of them as well.) I was extremely pleased with Russell, who really helped me out, and the scheduling was fine. I am not pleased that there was nothing to indicate that Oxi Fresh would not be able to clean wool carpets (at least nothing I've found on the website). I was never asked for the fiber content of my carpets when arranging the appointment. While it turned out fine in the end, thanks to Russell's contact and the excellence of the other company, I took an afternoon off of work to be home for Oxi Fresh and ended up without the service I took leave for.

Very pleased with the service. The technician was on time and very professional. Rugs look great!!! I have used this company before and will continue to use in the future.

It was okay. The only problem I had was that when they did my fireside chair, it is kind of a suede type of material and their machines just raked my chair. They left prints all over it so that I am going to have it re-covered. I have tried to vacuum it but it won't come out. Also it didn't really come very clean either. The antique couch downstairs, I guess it came out pretty well. It looks better now than it did when after they did it but I was a little disappointed that I was paying for something that didn't really work. The carpet they did I would give them a B on that. They included everything with the $99. It's the furniture that didn't turn out well. I was pleased with the price. They need to send people that are a little bit more knowledgeable about material and things like that because this chair...I am just looking at even the back of it, it's got triangle marks all over it. They should have known that the machine they were using was not good for that type of material. I would tell others that it is fine if you are going to have your rug done but I wouldn't have them touch any furniture. The quality on furniture was a D and the quality on the rug was a B. They came and set us up right away. I didn't have to wait but I didn't like the results.

The carpet cleaning was excellent. It was signing up with them that was so difficult. They kept trying to charge me more although the deal states exactly what I got. They claimed that they go by rooms and not square footage. They tried to get me to pay an extra $50.

Ken, the area manger apologized for the wet carpets and dirty floors that the original salesman had left. Together they cleaned the steps leading to the basement and a small area rug near the front door. When they left everything was clean and the wood floors were not wet. The carpets were dry in less that 2 hours. I was very satisfied. Really appreciated Ken's commitment to customer satisfaction.

The carpet and sofa cleaning went very well, as it always has in the past. We have been using Oxi Fresh for a few years now, typically twice a year for whole-house carpet cleaning. There were two technicians this time (I believe one was in training). The job went smoothly and was done well. However, there was a mishap in the billing. Somehow, we were billed three times for the same service (I think it was due to poor cellular service in our neighborhood interfering with their billing application). When my wife attempted to rectify the situation, she was unable to do so over the phone and had to contact the credit card company to resolve things.

Matt arrived early and said there was no need to do additional vacuuming because the carpets looks pretty clean. While he worked he walked all over the wood floors with wet feet leaving wet foot prints and drips from the cleaner all over. He actually walked through my dining room where we have an oriental rung and showed total disregard for our property. When finished he wiped his feet on the rug in our foyer. The carpet in the first floor master bedroom stayed wet for four days. We now have a mildew smell in our house. I have photos showing the wet food prints from his uncovered shoes. I have never had such an unprofessional carpet cleaner before. Here is the worst part. There are several franchises and apparently Matt was from the Columbia franchise even though the invoice says Ellicott City. The last guy from that office had a card that said Oxi Fresh of Central Maryland. This is truly "buyer beware." I called the office for the first time today and was told the owner would get back to me.

The guy who came out did an excellent job. He cleaned ever area that I asked him to clean, and the carpet looks brand new. He did a great job!

Ultimately, I was disappointed for two reasons. First, the service advertised the carpet would dry very quickly (1-2 hours). Most of the carpet took well over a day to dry. Second, a good number of my carpet stains could not be cleaned (blood from a nose bleed and dish detergent). The Oxi Fresh ad shows a dog which give the impression that they automatically take care of pet stains. That is partially true. They will clean the stain but you have to pay extra to take out the smell that attracts the pet back to that spot. Previously, I had used another carpet cleaner. Except for one cleaning, they did as good if not better cleaning than Oxi Fresh. In their case, the carpet consistently took a day to dry. I may have had unreasonable expectations but think it worth while to educate future consumers that may have similar stains.

This is the second time I have used this company and they are fantastic. The scheduler was very accommodating, the technician was excellent and the carpets look wonderful.

I did not like the service. They could improve on the quality of their service. Everything else was great like their professionalism and communication. It is just the quality of work.

Easy to schedule on line. Purchased deal for cleaning. Arrived on time. Job very well done. Price reasonable. Straightforward experience with professional attitude. Would use again if needed.

They damaged my carpet. We used them before and we never had that problem, but this time, they damaged my carpet. I have very light carpets. I have a very light yellow. When you wash the carpets, they get darker because there is water and whatever cleaning fluid they use so it changes color. So, I could not see. They were telling me that was the normal wet process, but the marks are still here. It looks like the metal from the machine rubbed on the upper step. It is not on every step. It is like on every third step on the stairs. The rest of it is fine, but I am going to call them when I am ready to get my carpets cleaned again. I would tell the office that I was told that it was just wet and it would disappear, but it did not and I would ask them if they would come out and fix it or should I go with another company. The price was a pretty good bargain. It was appropriate. They were very punctual. What he told me was not true and if he was professional doing it, he should have known that the mark was not wetness. I would ask them if they think they can fix it. I am not going to book them unless they make me feel like they can absolutely come back out and fix it.

When the technician came, I thought I already had an idea of the price because I'd had the work done before and spoken with someone online. I was uncomfortable when the price quote was higher than I expected. It seemed that the price breakdown was different from what I was told on the phone line. It got really complicated as far as pricing and what services would be included with what price. He had to keep calling the supervisor to verify pricing quotes. The supervisor on the other end of the line began to get escalated and was swearing. He was told that I could hear him cursing but he continued to talk in a very unprofessional manner. Beyond being unprofessional, he asked the representative in my house "what the f*** is wrong with her?" At that point I told the man in my house that I no longer felt comfortable working with the company and to leave. The technician apologized and attempted service recovery. I never heard from the company. 07/22/2016 Edit in response to Service Provider The service provider has both my home and cell phone numbers, I am in their database as they contacted me the night before the scheduled appointment, and they know where I live, because I had scheduled an appointment with him. There have been no attempts to contact me about this issue. The service provider's comments just serve to add insult to injury. Not only did I take off work that day and miss potential income to have an awful situation with this service, but now the service provider is obviously lying about the situation.

The technician called ahead of time to confirm the appointment and showed up on time. The technician was very professional and performed all services as requested. We are very happy with the service, as our carpets are now much cleaner and more vibrant.

They were right on time. I had a short time to get an appointment in, and they fit me into the schedule. They did an excellent job and worked efficiently; the whole house was done in under 2 hours.

They were okay. You have to be specific if you want certain areas to be cleaned diligently. It's like they don't take the initiative to pay more attention to dirty spots. They need you to tell them what spots you want them to pay more attention to. The gentleman was very, very courteous but the outcome wasn't impressive at all. He was very professional.

Great job. The work was done quickly and thoroughly. An attempt was made to remove some significant long-term staining of the carpets. I think they turned out great.

It was good. I spent a lot of time on the phone with their call center to make sure that I wasn't going to be charged extra based on the square footage and the size and the area in my house. Essentially the way that it was worded in the Deal it said 5 areas/1250sqft. So when I was on the phone with the call center, I counted to him all of the areas I had and what the square footage was and he told me that I was fine. When the guy got there from the local franchise, he basically said that it was going to cost me more money. I felt sorry for him because he did more work than expected but he ended up having to call the call center to find out what really went on in our phone call. He said that basically if it wasn't Angie's List and it was Groupon, he would have left. I mean the guy was great, he did what he was supposed to do. I think that he was frustrated and it seemed as if this kind of thing happens to him all the time. I don't have a lot of good things to say about their call center however he did a nice job and did exactly what I expected him. The reason I won't use them in the future is that they obviously have communication, training and internal issues that I frankly don't want to deal with. The local provider was wonderful though.

They were on time, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and did a great job.

I have used Oxyfresh before and had a good experience, I also gave the guy a $40 tip both times. Now I will never use them again. We scheduled a service and got a call the day of saying the guy was sick and needed to reschedule. We could be understanding, things happen, although I wad confused why only one person was capable of performing the service when it's a large company. We rescheduled, only to have the guy cancel on us again...then then reschedule only to not even show up. I called the main and spoke to someone who couldn't have cared less. I asked for a discount as an incentive to reschedule. He called to speak with someone then told me yes, they could offer me $50 off, for a total price of $440. Wait, what?? My original quote was $374. I explained this, he argued with me, then he said oh, you have an Angie's list deal. I said well I'm an Angie's list member yes, I didn't purchase a deal. He said well still I don't think we can give you any other discounts, and said he'd find out and call me back the next day. It's been 3 days since then and I've had no call. I find this deplorable for several reasons: 1. I am an Oxyfresh loyal customer 2. I only asked for a discount because I was repeatedly inconvenienced. Not just once, but several times. Not even an apology was given for this. 3. I was basically told that being an Angie'sList member means I'm not entitled to common courtesy because I was already getting a discounted service. That's not how it works, Oxyfresh! Bottom line: rude, shady, scammers. Don't use them unless you are fine with overpaying for a service to ensure you get treated with courtesy.

Great company, very helpful to speak with over the phone and accommodated my schedule perfectly. I actually had an emergency on cleaning day, we had closed on our house so it was empty and we were moving in furniture the next day. They were able to come in the house and get started and did a great job. The carpet feels great, looks great, and smells great.
