Our house looks amazing and the work was completed earlier than expected, The NuLook crew were both detailed and creative in applying the siding and trim to our older home. The entire process went well - from meeting with our salesperson to explain what we wanted to accomplish, then meeting with the project manager and work crew, everyone was on-board with our project. NuLook's management follow-up and oversight of the project was also very impressive! The crew cleaned up every evening and when the project was completed, all debris was removed. We rate this company an A+.

+ 0 moreNu Look's estimate was very competetive and there were no charges above the estimate. The "Green Shirt Guys" arrived exactly as scheduled and, even though none of them actually wore green shirts, the crew completed the entire re-siding in a day and a half. They even installed new lighting fixtures that we had purchased for us. The garden window was installed in the kitchen the following week, again exactly as scheduled and the work was completed in a couple of hours. All of the workers were polite and competent. Our yard and kitchen were left completely cleared of debris. We didn't find a single nail in the yard. The house looks beautiful and since the siding was high efficiency grade, we've seen savings in our energy bills. In the future I would like to add a sunroom to my home, and Nu Look will be the first company I call.

They had a good process from the beginning to the end, in terms of arranging a date to install the windows that was convenient to me, having employees here that new what they were doing, and the follow-up was excellent. If I have any questions, I can call at any time. The process was easy and really wanted to make it a good experience for the customer, so that we weren't inconvenienced. It just went very well. I was amazed that they did it in a day's time. They gave me a good deal. Overall, the experience was great.
Description of Work: They removed windows that were originally put in when the house was built (back in 1938) and installed new windows. There are 14 of them. I can open and clean them easily and makes life a lot easier. They're also energy efficient.

+ -1 moreI think Nu Look Home Design, Inc is family-owned. They do all of their jobs themselves, so they don't work for other contractors, which I thought was a plus. The experience went very well. I thought they were very open, honest, and explained a lot of the construction of the windows, which hasn't been explained before by other companies. They also explained the energy efficiency part of the windows. They gave us a special offer on the windows, which are high-quality. Not only is it affecting the heat or cold, but it keeps the interior of the home more soundproof. We don't hear much noise from the road. They completed the work all in one day and cleaned up everything after themselves. I'm happy with their services. I'd recommend this company, and I rarely recommend anyone.

+ 0 moreOur new sunroom is fabulous! Nu Look was very accommodating and helpful. I wasn't completely satisfied with their work when they initially completely the project. This was because our porch ceiling is very high, so the dimensions of the sunroom didn't look quite right. Nu Look figured out a solution, and resolved the issue promptly. In the end, I was very happy with their work.

+ 3 moreThis company was easy to work with, very helpful with financing and responsive to every concern and I am happy I made the choice to use them. Every project has their challenges, but how they are handled makes the difference. Their pricing was also very competitive.
Description of Work: I scheduled a meeting to receive a quote for a new sunroom at the home and garden show. They called right away, set the appointment and came to my home. The sales person was very sweet, professional and answered my questions honestly. I purchased the sunroom with the option to make changes up until the date of installation and also during, depending on the change requested. Nu Look arrived exactly when they said they would, began prepping my existing deck for the room and despite lots of rain, assembled my room as promised. The only concerns I had was with the caulking on the seams of the room. Once I told them about it they immediately sent someone to correct it (their siding guy is AWESOME.) The other concern was that I had asked for (I thought) a room that would accommodate siding, but as it turns out, the room I received would not. There was a fix for it, however, and I was given time to consider my options before choosing. I decided to keep the room as is (no siding) and there have been no other issues. I love my room, as do my neighbors. The windows are absolutely beautiful. Had I to do over again, I might place the room on the side of the deck closest to the ground instead of on the side with the 8ft deck posts above ground. This would have been much more attractive, and I could have added landscaping to improve the appearance. Everyone who was concerned about the appearance of the room on top of the deck changed their minds once they saw the inside of the room. Nothing but Ooohs and Aahhs, with special kudos for the skylights. It has been a great place for my dog and I to hang out.

+ -1 moreOverall the process was quick and easy. My husband and I were kept in the loop throughout the entire process. The work crew was thorough and cleaned up upon completion. We received a follow-up call from the manager to check whether we were pleased with the work and to find out if we had any questions or concerns.
Description of Work: My husband and I decided to contract Nu Look to replace our roof. We normally do not work with door to door salesman but decided to try Nu Look. The sales agent was curteous and knowlegable. He provided many examples of various shingles and explained the whole process. Throughout the process a representative from the company kept us informed about what was going on. Our roof was replaced in one day and from all objective indicators it was a success. We would recommend Nu Look roof replacement to our friends and family.

Description of Work: Met this company during home show, scheduled estimate to occur 3/16 at 6pm, at 5:50 got a call, rep is stuck in traffic, they will arrive at 6:30; at 6:25 another call, traffic is not moving will not be able to make it to house until after 7pm and we need 40 minutes of your time. I told them I have a 3 year old and one of us could listen but not both me and my wife, they basically said had to be both of us and they needed 40 minutes. After going back and forth trying to do it another night even at 5:30, I told them it was tonight or nothing, so looks like I will not be doing business with them

+ -1 moreWhen the sales guy came out he didn't seem at all interested in doing the work for us. We tried to talked to him about what we would like done for our whole house and ask questions about how he works with homeowners insurance. He told us that they don't work with them and they just have the owners pay and try to get back what they can. At that point he told us that he would give us a quote after he wrote it up a couple days later. He seemed to be in a hurry and was quickly gone. We haven't ever heard from them again. And really, I am glad. They didn't want our business. On a good note, the next guy who came was wonderful! He has been working with us AND our insurance company. He came and showed us what his company can do and really made us feel like he wanted our business. He was very responsive and even though it's winter and we will do the work when it warms up, he's shown us a level of professionalism that we couldn't get from Nu Look.
Description of Work: We got a call from them after we submitted a request on Angie's List. He said he could come out and give us an estimate for some work done after we had wind damage.

They wanted to get us in on their advertising and have our house in one of their samples. We heard about them from a flyer on our door saying they had been in our neighborhood. They seemed very professional but they just weren't what we wanted.

+ -1 moreTheir representative arrived on time. He stayed at my residence for the next 3 hours trying to convince me to purchase the windows. Initially I wanted only 3 windows replaced but asked him what it would cost for about 10 windows. He indicated that if it was only for 3 windows he wouldn't have come out in the first place. The initial estimate I got for the 10 windows was $15K. I said that was way too much and thanked him for his time. Within 10 minute the price went down to $9K. Again I said it was too much and it dropped again to around 6.5K. by then I was very concerned. When I told it I needed to think about the cost since it was more than I anticipated spending he wouldn't give me a written estimate and the price was only good until he walked out the door. In addition for that price I needed to help them with their marketing by calling or emailing neighbors, putting signs out, allowing them to take pictures for a brochure and I needed to use their financing for the purchase even though I told him I would pay cash. Needless to say I didn't agree and finally he left. It was a very trying experience and a waste of my time. Their product might be very good but I'm not willing to deal with a company that is that pushy. It makes me suspicious.

+ 1 moreWe only had estimate for siding, gutters, shutters, front door from this company. Provia door looked wonderful but was too expensive for us to proceed ($10K).
Description of Work: They provided an estimate and it was competitive. An owner came to house in evening but he wasnt well prepared. Siding, doors, gutter sales people always are high pressure - they want to deal at that moment. This rep was similar but he was more open than most and gave us 7 days to consider. We went with another company simply because they provided more information about how they do the work and had some extra niceties (better soffet, better materials under the siding). But it was very close and we would probably have been happy with the Green Shirt guys. Back of house siding, front shutters, all soffet & fachia, gutters ran about $30K.

+ 0 moreI was shocked with how professional they were. Just the constant calling and follow-up, extremely accomodating, and the way they maintain their customer service is very impressive. We are happy with the windows and product. The installation went smoothly. There was one question and he brought the crew out to make sure the item was done to my satisfaction. Courteous, kind, and highly impressed with the entire experience. The price was a little higher than what we planned to pay, but the product was worth the price and there were no surprises in terms of what we were quoted.

+ 4 moreThe siding crew showed up exactly on time and completed the job in just two and a half days. The yard was spotless after they left. We didn't find even a single nail or scrap of old siding. The siding is absolutely beautiful and completely changes the look of the house. The first greenhouse window they ordered for us was damaged in transit and had to be remade. Tom, our project manager kept in touch with us and kept us informed through the entire process. The window was remade and installed along with the basement window about two weeks after the siding was done. The window crew showed up on time and did excellent work. They left everything neat and clean and the greenhouse window is gorgeous! At the end of the project I found myself wishing that I could hire to do something else...maybe a sun room someday! Nu-Look is a company that I would like to do business with again.
Description of Work: Nu-Look provided a very competitive estimate for new siding and two replacement windows. They removed the old siding and shutters and replaced it with greenline energystar rated siding, insulation and shutters. The kitchen window was replaced with a greenhouse style window and a hopper window was replaced in the basement.

I made arrangements for deferred payment and thought it was 90 days same as cash and when that was up, I got a bill for the accrued interest and I complained and they split the interest with me. I thought it would it accrue at the end of 90 days and it did not. It started accruing as soon as they invoiced it to me. Aside from that the job, materials and everything was good.
Description of Work: They replaced the siding on the home. They removed the composite siding down to the building sheeting and the put on vinyl siding.

+ 1 moreThey were professional and they did a great job. It looked like a completely different house when they were done. They cleaned up after themselves. They did start the job a bit early and then it rained. With the siding off the house, the house was left all open. It was just one section but enough to bother us a bit. They were good with the follow up. They did call to make sure everything was working out for us. Their pricing was competitive with others in the area.
Description of Work: They put on new vinyl siding with insulation behind the vinyl. They did vinyl all around the windows and the soffits.

He was very rude when I told them that I didn’t want to make a decision on the spot. I almost had to throw him out of my house. I would not do business with them.

We did not use them because we thought they were kind of a scam. They called back numerous times to see if we had changed our minds, but we told them that we weren’t interested. They were terrible.
