Nu Look Roofing, Siding, and Windows

The quality of the work (Roof, Gutters, Soffits, Sun Tunnels, and Siding) was all great! The Salesperson--Tyler Walker was fantastic and in large part why I selected Nu Look. My complaint is three-fold: 1) the quality of the workmanship when they completed the Sun Tunnels (I got two), 2) The nails I've collected so far from the backyard, deck, and front lawn, and 3) I was told by the Project Manager (Jason Mrotek) I would not be charged for the extra panel of plywood (yet I was) they had to use on the roof as an acknowledgment they had left a mess with the Sun Tunnel installation and had left the attic ladder down which caused a hazard. I sent a personal and confidential letter to Patrick Fingles, CEO of Nu Look in an effort to get these three issues resolved over 30 days ago and got no response. Again, the quality of the work with the exception of leaving the Sun Tunnels installation incomplete was good.

She signed a special promotion with them that she would pay a monthly fee and at the end, a lump sum. She paid every installment on time and according to the terms of the contract. The promotion stated if she paid everything on time and in full as agreed, she would get all of her interest back. She called the company to ask where her refund was and they said she needed to contact the contractor who holds the loan. They are both pointing her to the other party to work it out. Nu Look will not return any phone calls and will not discuss the matter. She was so diligent to pay on time and we helped her pay off the lump sum at the end. But because they will not honor the deal, we are both out the money. We would never recommend this company.

Preston was very knowledgeable and transparent about the process from start to finish on our roof replacement project. We wanted the best product available(Owens Corning) and the best warranty available. A company that stands behind it's installers for LIFE is incredibly rare, as is the fully transferrable warranty when we eventually move. There was about 20+ color options since Owens Corning never reduced production during Covid and it was easy to decide. Nu Look actually had a computer generated aerial view of our home and it's exact colors and dimensions. So in real time we were able to see the different roof color options with our existing siding, shutters and colors. Very impressive company and will definitely use again when we decide to change our siding.

Just make sure you know what you are getting with NuLook. I did not know anything about shingles and have since learned alot. I went with what I believed to be a reputable roofing company. Salesman was very good, explained everything and why Nulook was a good company. So I was very surprised when 3 tab shingles were installed in place of the architectural shingles I had. Since the price I paid was much more that other roofing companies were quoting, I (wrongly) assumed I was getting a similar or better shingle. What I ended up getting was an expensive roof with the cheapest shingle Owens Corning makes. Shame on me for not doing more research. Since I signed a contract, there was no recourse. If it had not been for this, I would give the company higher ratings.

I set up an estimate time a few days in advance; one hour before the appointment, they called to make sure my wife would be there - this was the first they'd mentioned a both-spouse requirement. Our schedules make that nearly impossible, especially on an hour's notice. The sales rep told me it was my fault, then transferred me to the "confirmation department," where someone there set up another appointment and assured me that I would NEVER find another contractor without this "both-spouse" requirement. After contacting five other businesses that were much easier to deal with, I called back to cancel my appointment - and was forced to endure one sales pitch after another from someone who just wouldn't cancel my appointment. It felt like an argument, not a business call. After I thought I'd finally ended all this and canceled the appointment, she asked me for a reason - as though we hadn't been talking all this time. I cited the difficulties in doing anything with them, and she asked me to consider them in the future... If it's this difficult to do something minor, I can only imagine the headaches with something major. I've already received prompt, personal, and professional attention from several of their competitors.

Nu Look was called because of an ad on the radio. Promised half price on the cost of installation of a roof. Appt was promptly made and confirmed. Dominic, who made the appt did not arrive but a manager, who arrived late due to miscommunication in the office. The manager was nice, but his final presentation was extremely overpriced. Quoted $49,000 to do a roof only when all other bids came in between $11-15000. Quality of siding presented was poor. Window interiors were vinyl grained to look like wood when I asked for real wood. Very disappointed, though sales manager who arrived was nice. This seemed almost fraudulent; a real bait-and-switch.

Procedure was a bit messy (lots of dust). Result was a remarkable change of the appearance of the kitchen. We found 17 years of stuff in the cabinets. Where did that come from? First installer was medically impaired; had trouble with steps. Second installer was perfection; left us in awe of the appearance. Now the appliances look shabby!

I wanted to check other prices but was asked to sign a contract now and if I change my mind to call them back to cancel. Didn’t care for that policy

OK,crew show up on time, removed the old shingles,replaced the new materials,weather shield,drip edge, Underlayment, ridge vents,new shingles, installed new flashing in all applicable areas.

It went well, love the new windows and the energy efficiency is excellent!

The company refused to come out to do an estimate unless my husband was present. I explained that's logistically difficult for us. They insisted, either husband present or no estimate. I told them I would look elsewhere for services. It's 2017, folks. Either they are misogynistic or trying to hard sell. Neither is appealing.

Unbelievable pains. I decided not to go forward with the estimate after reading bad reviews. They called me dozens of times to try to get me to let them come out to give the estimate. Told them not to call - they kept calling. Called from several numbers as I kept blocking the lines they called on.

We made an appointment for an estimate at a home show on 10/1. At that time we were very clear that I would not be able to be there but my wife was completely able to handle the matter alone. We asked if this would be a problem and were told no. The appointment was confirmed yesterday, but today a second call was made. When my wife again told them I would not be there the company refused to come out. They stated that was their policy. That is fine, but then they should not have made the appointment. Perhaps the trouble is that they are not a local firm. I would not waste my time contacting this company, but instead look for a true local firm.

I told the salesman David as soon as he arrived what I did and didn't want him to do. I made it clear I was going to check other companies so all I had time for was a bottom line price for replacing my roof. I guess he didn't hear me because he started a high pressure today sale pitch. I told him at least 4 times that he would not get the job today. He called somebody on the phone to get me a better price. I ended up with 4 prices. He admitted that he could do the lowest price later. He wasted my time when I made it clear what I wanted. He did not understand he is the one that lost the job because as he said to me ' You need to let me do my job". I guess he is told you need to pressure the customer to get the job. Well that don't work with me. He would had not got the job even if he was the lowest which he was not. I have gotten other bids and they did what I told them to do. They all was there about 20 minutes but David took a hour. David lost big time. Press does not work because people know you don't have the best price. He also told me companies pay to be on Angie's list and they was not on Angie's list. Well I guess he needs to check his facts. He also tried to deny the complaints on the BBB but I showed him. To everybody - if you have a high pressure salesperson run don't walk!!!!

I was approached by a sales representative canvassing the neighborhood offering a free estimate to replace the roof of my home, he explained that they were doing work in the neighborhood. I was very uncomfortable with the multiple questions being asked especially the question regarding “my husband/all home owners” being present for the estimate. I told the sales representative that I was the decision maker. These questions were out of line, unprofessional and not relevant to the work. It made me feel like my home was being reviewed for other actions. I canceled the free estimate and will not be working with this company. I agree with other reviews that the sales pressure tactics were offensive and a horrible way of doing business.

Nu-Look did an excellent job on all counts. The roof is laid perfectly with padding and waterproof sheeting, new flashing, new vent covers, four new plywood sheets. The gutters are larger than the old ones and are covered with a grating that is angled so debris runs off the edge; the downspouts are also larger. Everything looks great!

They were excellent and unbelievable! They were maticulus about covering everything and cleaning up. They made sure the job had a finished look around the window. The door in the basement was more than they had bargained for. They had to remove tack strips, padding, carpet and mud before they could start on the door.

Excellent. Quick and professional.

Saw the ad on television stating 50% off roofing. Call the number and set up an appointment for Friday 4/8/16 @ 1:00 pm. When making the appointment I was told my husband had to be home. Well we waited and it was a no show and no phone call. Very disappointing.

Disrespectful and rude salesmen ignore No Soliciting signs.

BIGGEST RIPOFF EVER!!!!! Their advertised half price windows ("because its winter and I just want to keep my guys working" the "owner" says in his add. We had a widow bid - 15 vinyl windows with no grids. The price started at $24,000 and after several calls to his boss the salesman "got it down to rock bottom $18500. We went to another reputable company and got the job done for $7500 including more trim work than NuLook would do. Moreover, our new windows are Pella rather than the company I never heard of that Nu Look uses. RUN DO NOT WALK away from them they truly are con men!!!!!

We told them that we did not know who they are and that we never deal with contractors who knock on our door to solicit business. Today, we took a zoom lens photo of our roof and found there were no missing tiles at all. The salesmen from this company had misinterpreted flashing to prevent mold growth as missing roofing tiles, and they caused us unnecessary concern that our relatively new roof (five years) needed to be replaced. They also asked a number of intrusive and unwarranted questions about our business with the original contractor. We would never do business with a company that tries to solicit business in this manner, and we urge this company's owners to explain to its young salesmen that this kind of tactic can have an extremely negative impact. We are thoroughly annoyed about what happened yesterday, and we will never hire this company--ever!

I met a very nice gentleman at the recent Home and Garden show and talked to him about getting a single patio door installed to replace on that wasn't functioning properly. He took my information and set an appointment. The day of the appointment, the salesperson called me (someone different) and told me if all I wanted was a single door replaced, they wouldn't even bother quoting the job because it was too small. It would have been nice if the person at the Home and Garden show had told me that and not wasted my time. Also, considering most people work now days, it was very inconsiderate to wait until the day of the appt. to tell me they weren't coming out. I definitely will not consider them when it comes time to replacing all my windows.

Excellent service from beginning to end. I met/spoke with numerous company officials and each was professional. The original consultant explained the company services and structure. Steve quoted a price and payment schedule for the services that remained intact throughout. The project managers (John and Mark) performed their duties timely. They were courteous and kept me advised of the work to be performed. They responded immediately to my inquiries. The scheduler (Salema) and company were extremely patient in dealing with the HOA. Both Joann and Salema worked with me throughout to meet strict (and sometimes unbelievable) HOA requirements. The employees performing the work were all professional and dedicated to completing the tasks. Nu Look Home Design operates in such a manner that I would contact them again if I needed a service that they provide.

A sales rep came to my door saying that the company is working in the area and asked if they could do an estimate on the root. I said that I am not looking to replace the roof anytime soon. He said, well your neighbors are also having an estimate done and their root if probably the same age. Basically, he talked me into it. The day of the estimate, someone called the house to confirm the appointment. Started asking me a bunch of questions, which I thought were completely unrelated to the performance of the estimate. Asked me if there is a Mr. in the household and will he be present for the estimate. I was surprised by the questions and did not feel the need to provide this information. I responded with a "I will be at home for the estimate". To which the person on the phone replied with "Yes...but is there a Mr. in the house". I repeated my response and expressed my confusion as to why she kept pushing the question. Her response was "We don't want to waste our time". I said that if my presence is not enough for the estimate they can cancel the appointment. I was very offended to say the least. I am the decision maker in the house. Why is my decision not sufficient for this company? I wonder if they would keep asking the "Is there a Mrs. in the house and will she be present" question if a male was on the phone instead of me. Very disappointing experience. Not the right way to do business.
