Noonan Construction

There was no oversight on the job and the workers, although polite, spoke little or no English, and consequently, there were problems because of the language barrier. They installed the wrong color drip edge, destroyed our satellite dish, failed to install all of the ridge vents (some were in the wrong place) until we complained, had no knowledge of the sun tunnel until we called the company; ridge vents were corrected the following day; sun tunnel was completed several days later. The time of the appointment to install the interior part of the sun tunnel was changed from 10:00 am to 2:00 am without telling us. Also, the date of the initial installation of the roof was delayed to the next day without informing us. In both cases, we had to call the office to find out why no one showed up. No one from Noonan verified that the job was being done correctly or was completed to our satisfaction, and that all work was done in accordance with the contract.

Took some time to get schedule because the deal was so popular but once started it went smoothly without a hitch. End result was better than my expectations.

The proposal states that the work is going to be an additional $2000. Reading the ad, I don't think that it's clear that there could be additional charges. The size of the room is not specified.

He came out and measured the floor. He was here for approximately 10 minutes. He was supposed to contact us with an estimate but they never contacted us again.

He came late to appointment, and I had to call him.

Three painters showed up as scheduled. They were very courteous and pleasant. The problems were attention to detail and clean-up. Folding doors were closed after painting which caused them to be glued shut. Painter came out to re-open them. One entire side of bathroom window trim and wall area by window left unpainted. Painter was to come by 1:00 pm on a Monday but didn't show up until mid-day Tuesday to resolve the issue. I would have appreciated a call so I wasn't at home just waiting. There was a considerable amount of paint spatter that my husband and I had to scrub up or scrape from bathroom counters, sink and floors. I asked for how much wall paint would be needed, and was told 2 quarts per bathroom. I ended up having to buy more which cost more than if I just bought a gallon. The invoice sent had a different cost (a cost I never would have agreed to) than what was verbally quoted for the recreation room painting, so we settled in between. Lesson learned, get an estimate in WRITING.

Purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for Basement Finishing or Remodeling with a Half-Bath. Mike Criddle came out and provided me the estimate for the additional work that was not included in the Deal. Since I was not in a hurry to have the work done, we were both very patient in scheduling. The work was completed very professionally and I received what I requested . Albert Stokes, the general contractor, Andy the electrician and James the plumber all provided exceptional quality of work and professionalism. They were all very trustworthy and very proficient at their respective jobs. Some of the tasks in the estimate were open for discussion and I relied on their expertise to guide me and it worked out very well for me. I am very pleased with the way it all turned out.

We've had some issues with them but it really wasn't their fault. We hired them to come out and they did a fantastic job and it was for caulking, crown molding and repairing a couple of nail pops in the ceiling. And then we went to hire them to do additional work and that's where the problem comes in. But the guy, we tried to hire to come back and do more, his dad had a stroke and then he had an inner ear infection so we are hoping he is coming out the end of the month.

Called several times, and had no response.

It went well - but they claimed that they had to remove 2 layers of roofing from the house and charged me several hundred dollars for the 2nd layer, but I was never shown any evidence that there was actually a second layer of roofing removed. I mentioned this to them when I got the bill and they said "yes, that was a mistake - the crew should have shown you on the day of the job", but nothing was done to address the issue.

The overall job went well. The house looks brand new, and I get lots of compliments from the neighbors. Although the overall job was good, I give the company a C for quality for several reasons; there are some electrical wires still hanging from the roof or laying on the lawn from the siding job, and after only 4 months my new driveway has a crack that needs to be addressed. I have had several encounters with both Brian and Mike regarding the jobs performed at my home, they have both been responsive, but my encounter with Mike today really demonstrated excellent customer service skills and professionalism. Service was excellent, on time, professional and friendly.

We set up an appointment for September 6, 2014 for them to start work on the bay window. They never showed up. They were unresponsive for 6 months. They then sent me a letter saying that it was going to require me to pay double the price that they quoted me. They said it would take 16 hours to complete the job and they had originally quoted me 8 hours.

Initial contact with the provider was great! I made the Noonan representative aware that there was only one other company that I was considering to complete the roof replacement, and I showed him the price estimate of the other competitor. Noonan's representative in turn gave me literature and a recommendation of more expensive roofing materials that by "guesstimation" would increase the job by a considerable amount. I was never offered the option of the same or comparable materials that the competitor offered, only the higher priced materials. To top it off, the Noonan representative could not provide me with an idea of the cost estimate and promised to e-mail me the estimate within the next few days. Well, I'm still waiting on the estimate! I don't have a problem with anyone changing there mind about taking on a construction job because that's the right of a business. But at least have the decency to formally reject the offer in writing or verbally and follow through on what "you say" your are going to do.

Tim was on time and professional. He answered a lot of questions for me about other jobs, and I scheduled more work with them because I was so impressed!

Theu came out to do a roof maintenance package. I had to pay extra to have them perform some minor repairs. A few months later the repairs they made leaked when it rained. They stated that I would have to have my roof for our sun room replaced. They never sent me a quote. After several calls to get the quote to replace the roof I am now going to have to contact someone else for a quote. They complained that they had lost one of their workers and would get back to me but never did.

I feel like it was a bait situation. It was a seemingly great deal and then when they came out, the contractor indicated that it would be $7000.00 more than the original deal which was $5000.00, totaling $12000.00.

They were ok. I was not super happy with it. They did a good job. But what I felt was, what was advertised was not carried out well. The guy said we cover this and this and these things we do not cover and you need to pay extra to get those things done. Then I had to pay extra to get things done since I did not want to have any water damage. It seemed that a sub contractor came. He came in his own vehicle and there was no markings of any kind of company like a uniform. The work seemed ok, but I don't think I would use them in the future. He turned up when the sun was coming down and he was really rushing up to finish the job. They just put the foot on the door and just keep on adding services which we may not be necessary at all. I wouldn't say they did a horrible job, but they were not super professional.

Tim was a true professional and very helpful with accurate advice. (even engaged w/ my 2yr who was fascinated with Tim's tools.) I've never been more impressed with a contractor. I'll only use Tim in the future. Won't use anyone else!

We booked the $4999.00 siding package through Angie's list. Mike from Noonsn Construction came out and showed the materials included in the package. He suggested we upgrade the siding to a better quality which we did. We discussed new windows and Mike gave us the estimate for new windows and installing a new front door. The window man came and measured the windows which had to be manufactured. This took some time. The two men who installed the windows were great. They were pleasant and very thorough in cleaning up as they proceeded to replace the windows. They also asked us to rate their work which was great. After the windows were installed, the siding materials were delivered. Unfortunately some of the materials were missing, but we called Mike and he had the additional materials delivered. The siding took time to be installed due to cold and rainy weather which is understandable. There were some things that needed to be fixed after the siding was done and Mike sent Tim to take care of these fixes.Tim was wonderful and very detailed in addressing the items that needed to be fixed and followed up on everything. We also spoke to Linda at the Noonan office who was always pleasant and assisted in the followup. She even apologized for the bad weather which delayed the project and which of course was not within anyone's control. We have received many compliments from our neighbors on how great the house now looks with the new windows and siding. This was out first experience with Angie's list and was a very positive experience. .

The deal was a complete disaster. The thing of it was, is that after I purchased the deal, they just took their time. I called them up and it took 2 weeks to get an initial appointment. It then took another 2 weeks to get their estimate. They were uncooperative and they lied through their teeth. Since I have been in construction for over 10 years, I could tell that they were padding the bill. By the time the estimate came in, the total was up to $13,000.00. I had other contractors from Angie’s List that came out after and those estimates came out to be about half the cost.

They were very polite. The deal didn't end up going through. The receptionist was up front and honest with me about everything. It sounded like they got a good response from the big deals and couldn't get to everyone. The provider have good reviews, which is why I called them.

I wanted them to plant some trees for me. They said they didn’t do lawn work so I receive a refund

After requesting quotes from four companies and receiving quotes from three, we selected Noonan to replace our roof. They were not the most expensive, nor the cheapest. They were selected because we felt the most comfortable with Mike and how he represented the company. They ended up starting the work a few days earlier than originally scheduled due to a cancellation. Once the work started, it went very smooth with the entire roof stripped and ~half the shingles replaced by the end of the first day. By early afternoon, the new roof was on, the grounds cleaned up, and we had our beautiful new roof. The crew was very considerate throughout and made sure all our questions were answered and any special requests addressed. All in all it was a very positive experience. Based on the results, we have since contracted them to replace our front doors.
