Edgar was very responsive and returned all emails and messages promptly. He was able to compromise with our budget and find a good solution when the initial door was too expensive. The installing team were courteous and cleaned up everything upon finishing.

We are pleased with the high quality materials and work provided by Crystal Exteriors. The installation was done on the agreed upon day and a minor issue was resolved promptly without additional cost. We have already recommended them to someone.

I cannot say enough good things about Crystal Exteriors. The owner came twice, perhaps 3 times (I don't recall exactly) to be sure all details were covered. While I was deliberating whom to hire, he kept in touch, whereas no other company did, although others seemed very competent too. He pointed out details and possible improvements that no other company did. They did not charge for repairs a small area of rot when the original siding was removed. They also repaired an original attic air vent, again without charging me. And he suggested wise aesthetic improvements such as moving cables to the side of the house where they would not mar the look of the front of hte house. Every day the place was picked up and tidy. And I was always notified if they could not come because of rain. I could have chosen another company, but this one made me feel I could sleep at night knowing everything would be done correctly. I've had other work done and months or years later learned it was incorrect. This has placed the burden on me to learn about the work in question (such as porch flooring) in order to be able to assess whether it is being done correctly. Fortunately, I did not have to do this with Crystal Exteriors. Peace of mind was worth everything! And the house looks fantastic.

Great! Very Professional and walked us thru the entire process from door parts to instalation. Communicated effectively throughout the process. Delivered on everything promised, on time and within budget. They saved us thousands compared to other estimates. Installers were very polite, provided timely quality service, clean up nicely and went above and beyond our expectations. To top it off the door is so well built, it is energy star compliant with a lifetime warranty. I would use them again and recommend them highly!

Edgar Li was excellent. Very responsive, and very patient with all our questions and indecisiveness. We really appreciate all the time he took with us explaining all the details of the project. He came in under other contractors we received proposals from and was by far the best at returning calls, arriving on time, etc - all the best customer service attributes. He was able to install the doors a week ahead of schedule. When we had a small issue with the size of the door Edgar came right out and made a quick adjustment - at 7pm on a Wed night. Overall we were really impresses and appreciate the effort. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an entry door/storm door. Cant speak to the windows or siding but I would guess he does a great job there as well.

After researching front entry doors, we decided to replace our front entry door with a ProVia door (which included a whole new frame with sidelights, hinges, door knobs, etc.). We decided on ProVia because we wanted a high quality, energy efficient, functional door system that would not need repairs or replacement a decade from now. After receiving a couple of quotes from other highly-rated installers, we had Crystal Exteriors come to our home to take measurements. We decided on Crystal Exteriors because in addition to giving us a good price, the owner, Mr. Edgar Li, impressed us as being experienced, informative and professional. There were no games or gimmicks, he was very straightforward in terms of price and information. The installation exceeded our expectations as well. Mr. Li does not subcontract, his crew is very efficient and skilled and they have worked with him for years. It is clear that Mr. Jaime and another crew member take pride in their workmanship. They took great care to isolate the area around the door with a floor to ceiling plastic drape and worked with great care and respect for our property. Years ago, we used another highly-rated firm we found on Angie’s List to replace our sliders, and while their crew did a good job, they did not isolate the area the way the Crystal Exteriors crew did. Mr. Jaime and his crew go the extra mile. Not only did they replace the visible wood rot around the door, they also replaced hidden rot that they found in the subfloor. They did all of this additional work with absolute thoroughness and for a surprisingly low minimal cost. To say that we are happy with their work is an understatement! We are beyond pleased with the quality of our door as well as the outstanding experience we had with the installation. In addition, we noticed immediately how much more energy efficient the ProVia door is and that alone definitely makes the upgrade worth every cent. Crystal Exteriors also replaced two windows with ProVia windows and they are extremely energy efficient compared to our original windows. Crystal Exteriors is an exceptional company that performs outstanding work and delivers a quality product at a competitive price. Our only regret is that we didn't hire them years ago. We would not hesitate to hire them again and to recommend their work to others.

Edgar Li at Chrystal Exteriors quoted me a price for two vinyl sliding glass three-panel patio doors that had another company rep sputtering and stammering when I showed it to him. That made me worry that it was too good to be true, but the company's work and professionalism were exceptional. Edgar and his crew chief Jamie totally delivered. One of our openings wasn't level, so they came up with a solution that made the job take longer than they had anticipated, but they still finished in a day without complaining. They tented off the door areas from the rest of the house so that nothing got dusty, and afterward they cleaned up meticulously. The doors look terrific, feel solid, block noise, and have brightened up our space. I heartily recommend this company and will use them again in the future.

A neighbor had his garage entry door replaced by Mr. Li about a year ago and highly recommended him to me. I also was impressed by the company's many A-ratings on Angie's List. The new door was installed within a few hours and I could not have asked for better service or quality. Mr. Li was a pleasure to to work with and the door looks great. Over our many years in our house I have dealt with many vendors and Mr. Li is now at the top of my list. I would not hesitate to use him again if we need additional exterior door or window work, and I am recommending him to my neighbors..

I really wish every contractor was like Edgar Li. Of the many projects and contractors we worked with on our house, Edgar and his team at Crystal Exteriors were the most professional, communicative and easy to work with -- and they did an amazing job on multiple exterior projects. Edgar made sure the job was completed beyond even our high expectations, offering numerous tips and willing to make necessary fixes before we thought of them. I've learned to expect that a company with great online reviews will charge more than other companies to capitalize on their popularity. But Edgar Li and his team have not only some of the best contractor reviews I've seen online (and I'm proud to add mine to the list), but they were also the most reasonably priced of five quotes we received. We were extremely lucky to find them.

Meeting Edgar Li was a breath of fresh air, especially after dealing with a couple of other repair/remodel companies over the years. Initially, he responded to my voice mail the same day I left it on his answering machine and said he was going to be in the area that same afternoon. From the very first meeting I had confidence in his work ethic and experience, as he made several suggestions that we had not even considered. The next day we received a detailed price quote, and based on this and his company's rating in the Consumers' Checkbook, we decided to go with Crystal Exteriors. He scheduled us for the next available date, as soon as the custom doors arrived at his shop, and a crew of three arrived bright and early. From the very beginning they were extremely conscientious about keeping the rest of the house clean while they did the dirty work of removing two existing doors, and it seemed that one of the crew members was constantly cleaning up, sweeping, bringing materials to the other two craftsmen. Edgar came to the house twice during the day to oversee the work being done, but the crew was so experienced and well-trained that they really didn't need any supervision. They finished both door installations in one day and the workmanship was outstanding. In short, everything went perfectly, from my initial inquiry to the final clean-up after the work was done. I will definitely contact them again when it's time for the next roof replacement in a couple of years. Couldn't be happier.

We had an excellent experience with Crystal Exteriors. Edgar Li, the president, was always available and checked on the work every day. His advice and suggestions were excellent. We were notified when each section of the job (siding, roofing, gutters, doors) would be started and completed. All the crews were very experienced, worked hard and tidied up when finished. There was not a moment's worry on our part. Edgar also did extras that were much appreciated (relocated backdoor light, added a porch outlet, changed the garage frame). He recommended and used the highest quality materials. The price was very reasonable, but the value was superior. Highly recommended. First, the best professional advice (from Edgar Li) that we have encountered. He is a graduate engineer, very smart, very experienced, very dependable, always reachable, very quality conscious, very responsible for the quality of the work performed. Could not ask for more. The workers have been with him for years and we watched them in admiration. The work was performed sooner than anticipated. The quality of materials chosen was tops. We were very glad to have "discovered" Crystal Exteriors. We were frustrated in finding an excellent contractor. We had had offers that ranged from one-half to twice as much as what we paid. Most importantly, we had zero confidence in the people that were making those offers. Edgar Li is top notch. We had not met anyone like him.

We bought a new ?older? home which required a roof and siding replacement. We chose Crystal Exterior and couldn?t be happier. They did a fantastic job. If you need a new roof or siding, we highly recommend this company; contact them and get an estimate. It will be well worth your time. Our points of contact were Edgar and David. They came to our house on a weekend day to inspect the existing roof and siding and to take measurements. Two days later, they sent us a detailed proposal describing the scope of work to be performed and total cost estimate. If you like details then you?ll love how they work up their proposals. They provide pictures, diagrams, and bullet lists. They break down the costs of everything, line by line. You know what you are getting in terms of materials, quantities to be used, costs of each and most amazingly, cost of labor. If you aren?t into details, you?ll appreciate the transparency. This is a company that employs its own people; they don?t use subcontractors. Edgar and David put us on their calendars and work commenced approximately two weeks later. They remained in constant contact with us throughout the project. We found their workmanship to be top notch. There was no hasty rush to finish the projects and no demand of payment at COB the day the projects completed. In fact, after the work was completed, Edgar scheduled a walk thru with us to address concerns or lingering questions. Only when he knew we were satisfied with the end product, did we discuss payment. He never rushed us or treated us like another job on his punch list. Notwithstanding all the positives I?ve already shared, Edgar and David were unparalleled in their level of customer service. Anytime we had questions or concerns, they were available. Their email responses were virtually instantaneous. They were flexible and accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. When we had difficulties deciding on a roof color, they offered suggestions and provided addresses of homes in surrounding neighborhoods where they had performed roof work. We got to see how a small color sample looked upon installation. We also asked them to add a new box vent to the roofing area above our master bathroom so that we could install an exhaust fan. They gladly accommodated our request. Finally, in the midst of the roof replacement project, we discovered that we were not fond of the way the flashing looked on a particular area of the roof. We reached out to Edgar and David, feeling a bit apprehensive as a great deal of progress had already occurred. To our surprise and relief, they took our concerns in stride, vowing to fix the flashing to our satisfaction. Our experience with the company was overwhelming positive. Without hesitation, we recommend them for your next roof and/or siding replacement project.

We liked Edgar, the owner of Crystal Exteriors, right away. He was very responsive when we contacted him for an estimate, and met with us within two days of contact. He walked around our house and gave us his immediate ideas about the work we wanted done, told us about some things we could consider, and then let us know that he would provide an estimate within three or four days. He sent us an estimate that was very reasonable, and far below the cost of other estimates we had received. We had several questions regarding materials. Our house was sided with cedar shake siding, but it had rotted and needed to be replaced. We decided to go with James Hardie siding for low maintenance and longevity. We did not opt to get Hardie trim, but instead elected to go with PVC trim. Edgar answered all our questions, from house wrap, to insulation, to siding, to trim, to front doors. He was always very responsive and never seemed to be trying to "sell" us on an idea. He would give us options for us to consider, and we could make a judgment. Edgar was always straight-forward and encouraged us to get as much information as possible. We decided to go with Crystal Exteriors in part due to the difference in price, but also because I believed that we would be satisfied with the work and Edgar would stand by it. Peter, the main person working on the house, was very cordial and an extremely hard worker. He did an amazing job. Everything looks perfect. No shoddy corners or bad angles, and our house has a ton of angles, trim, crown, and tight spaces. He is a true professional. The work was initially delayed due to rain, and took longer than anticipated. At one point Peter was pulled off our job for a few days due to some other work that needed his attention at another location. We were a bit disappointed with the delay, but it was not critical. I expressed our disappointment to Edgar, who, instead of making excuses or getting defensive, apologized and said that they would work very hard to minimize the delay going forward. He said that there were no excuses for the delay. Edgar is a true professional. We are so happy with our working relationship with Edgar, the workmanship, Peter's professionalism, cleanliness of the workplace, and the final result, that a delay is not significant. Our new front door is beautiful and very well-made; our new window looks great and matches the style of all the other windows in the house; the siding and trim work are exceptional. We have received many compliments on the work already. Even yesterday, when Edgar came over to discuss a small "punch list" of outstanding items (like some obsolete wires that can be removed from the house and a downspout that can be cut shorter on the end) a neighbor stopped us to say how much he liked the siding and to ask for Edgar's card. Edgar went above and beyond what we asked him to do at every step. He found a replacement window for a window that was not sealed properly and fixed it without charging us. He extended a gutter and downspout on the end of our house that had caused some pooling problems because it did not extend to the end of the roof line. He and Peter attached a new door knocker I wanted to the door and replaced the hardware when the included hardware was not long enough to fit. He gave me a vial of touch-up paint to disguise the bolt from the new door knocker as well. And the price for enclosing a space that had a wasteful extra door, taking out a glass block window, and fitting a new bottom-up/top-down window at counter height in our kitchen, was amazing, especially for the utility of having the extra space in our kitchen. All in all, Edgar and his team are amazing to work with and I would recommend them and their work to anyone who needs roofing work, siding, doors or windows. You will not be disappointed. If you are (you won't be), Edgar will fix it. He is great at what he does, and is a very nice guy, which is all anyone can ask for.

I bought my house 2 years ago, the home inspection report indicated I will need a new roof within 5 years. I don?t want to wait until it leaks and heard radio commercial about Lxxg Roof offer free gutter with roof job. I also heard Nx Lxxk Hxxe Design Inc. offer labor and materials only deal. Wow! I called them and had both company came out within a week to give me estimates. First was Lxxg Roof. The sales rep was on time and very polite. He did the measurement and shown me couple samples. He wrote down a 1 year price of almost $20K with gutter and Certainteed Landmark shingle on a sheet of paper, he then told me will take $4K off if I sign the contract ?today?. I told him I will have other estimates and will not make a large purchase decision without comparing others. He kept pressing and offered another 20% discount. I thought, really. I sent him out of my door! He left me a sheet of paper with barely readable contents and hand written prices. Next was Nx Lxxk Hxxe Design Inc. Sale rep Jaron also came on time. Measured the roof and told me I had 2,100 SF and will be a one day job, shown me the Owens Corning Duration Shingle which is a very nice shingles with some kind of patented fabric for nailing. Their price was almost $24K with gutters. He mentioned the Labor and material only special right away which will took $10K off my price. Wait a minute, something didn?t add up. The materials should cost about $3-$4K. Unless they pay their guy couple thousand dollars a day, the math just didn?t add up. He also started to pressure me and offered me a ?today only manager?s special of $11K?. I completely lost interest of playing this kind of game and sent him out of my door! He left me two sheets of paper with hand written prices. The next day at work, I told my co-worker during lunch break about those companies and he wrote down a phone # for me to call. He assured me that I will not be disappointed. I called a week later and sure enough, meeting David and Edgar from Crystal Exteriors was a very pleasant experience. They are knowledgeable about the products and installation; never oversell things that I don?t need; gave me sound advice of my options and explained in details about the whole process. The best part was I never felt any pressure from them at all. In fact, I didn?t get my estimate when we met. They emailed me the estimate that evening after they worked it off from a satellite measuring system report. They told me that with an accurate report, they won?t under estimate and I won?t get overcharge. The proposal I received had all itemized labor and material costs listed down to roofing nails! That?s how transparent their business model is and THE COST was almost $3K less than Nx Lxxk Hxxe Design?s ?today only manager?s special?. Needless to say, I hired them to do my roof, gutters and gutter protection system using the same Owens Corning Duration shingle that Nx Lxxk Hxxe Design offered. They kept me inform on every steps along the way. I was also surprised that they have their OWN crew doing the work, not a subcontractor. David stopped by several times during the date of installation and make sure everything was okay. My new roof and gutter look beautiful and received many complements from neighbors! I totally understand all business needs to make a profit, but I rather give my hard earn money to companies that earn them honestly. I will definitely use Crystal Exteriors again for my future projects.

I chose Crystal Exteriors because of the attention to detail and product knowledge shown by its owner, Mr Edgar Li, when he provided an estimate. He was very responsive and helpful as we worked to get the right doors for our house. Once we decided on the doors, he kept us updated on their construction and delivery. His installation crew was extremely professional, hard working, did an excellent job keeping construction debris out of our house, and a superior job site clean-up. Mr Li is without a doubt the most competent and trustworthy home improvement contractor I?ve ever hired.

While all my neighbors got their roof hail damage by their insurance company, mine wasn't covered. When the contractors came in to replace on my neighbors' roof, the contractors gave me quotes. They were between $11K-12K. My house is about 2500 square foot two story building. It has very high and steep roof that the contractors told me it's not easy to work with. Then a friend of mine referred me to Crystal Exteriors. The sales person showed up and explained clearly all the options. He was very professional (not like a used car sales person). I chose a lifetime warranty roof and the cost came out $6800 - I didn't negotiate the price at all. First I worried little because the price seemed low compared to others'. The worry went away soon after. The roof install went really well as it planned. I was very impressed with the quality work and the clean up. With two small children, we quite run bare feet on our yard. Crystal Exteriors picked up as much it can to pick up all the nails! Yes, I found several nails after they were gone, but I was still very impressed. Also, when they were working on the roof, they saw tear on the roof vent. I got some parts for the roof vent and they installed it. I do think our house roof looks best amongst our neighbors. It's because of the quality work and the color they recommended. I would recommend this company all day.

Edgar Li was the fourth and final provider that provided us an estimate to replace three of our exterior doors: Front door, back french doors and back patio door. He was communicative, punctual, and straightforward. He was able to meet the least expensive estimate, but I felt that he was more detail-oriented than all of them as well. His installer is an employee and has been for several years. He was here all day, installing the two back doors. He ensured that the space was tarped off, so that no dust could get in the rest of the house, and that it minimized inconvenience. Mr. Li stopped by a few times to check in the work - everyone was fantastic. The installer came back on another day to do the front door, as it was special ordered and needed to come in. This time there were two guys, and my double front doors became one beautiful door with sidelights. I most appreciated the attention to detail and level of customer service that Mr. Li and his employees provided. This is a small, local, well-run business, and it was a great experience all around.

They did an excellent job at a good price. They not only came promptly but also worked efficiently and neatly. It has been over three years since the roof was installed, and I have had no leaks or problems. It looks as good as the day it was put on. I was especially impressed with the care they gave to my property. They made sure to collect all debris from the removed roofing material including stray nails in the yard. Edgar Li, as well as David and crew were a pleasure to work with from start to finish.

I am very pleased with the service provided by Crystal Exteriors and the owner, David Jin. They replaced our old roof and installed new gutters guards two years ago. They completed the work very professionally and cleaned up the area after it was completed. The roof still looks like new even after 2 years, and I can say that it remains as the best roof condition ever compared to my neighbor?s roofs, which have been serviced about the same time by other companies or even recent times. Crystal Exteriors also repaired the gutter guards, and since then, I didn't have to worry about leaves falling on the roof. I would recommend Crystal Exteriors to my family and friends! Our experience with Crystal Exteriors and Edgar (the owner) was outstanding. They did our roof and siding, and a few other items that we identified as necessary along the way. We learned about Crystal Exteriors from the contractor we hired to redo our kitchen cabinets. We had a terrible experience with a larger company in the area that had visited our home several times to provide estimates and discuss the project. We also had another company provide a quote, so we have several data points to compare against. Meeting Edgar was a breath of fresh air. From day one, it was clear that we hit the jackpot. It?s not easy to find someone in this particular industry that does extremely high quality work, stays within budget and schedule, and conducts business in a hands-on and completely transparent way. This is Edgar. First, the price was the most competitive amongst the three bids we received. As with most folks in this industry, he offered a percentage discount on the total project to do the roof and siding together. Along the way, we also had Edgar install screen doors on the front and back door, new gutters, railings on the front porch and back stairwell, and reinforce the footer of one side of our house that had been improperly installed. He also just did (without asking) numerous small tasks along the way that we wouldn?t have necessarily thought about needing (e.g., installing new locks on the doors, house numbers, getting new keys made for us). He never charged us more for these things either, but still did not go over the agreed budget. In fact, when the price of the screen doors increased from the time he quoted us and the time we started the project, he offered without hesitation to absorb the cost. Throughout the project, Edgar was extremely hands-on. He emailed us regularly to send pictures of the project from the day or to ask questions that needed a decision and we met with him at least two times a week at our convenience and nearly daily when the project was at its peak. He was endlessly kind, respectful, and honest. The roof: The roof process went very quickly. His crew was finished in roughly two days. It seemed relatively standard in terms of procedure and quality of work. There was quite a lot of rotting or damaged wood that they needed to fix and they re-built our skylight from scratch to no longer leak. The only other thing worth noting is the added detail he built into our dormers in the process. He added some wood along the edges of the dormers to give them texture, and to allow for a more creative design once the siding was put on. He made it into a nice triangle that provided more depth and a very classy/modern appearance. The siding: The process for doing the siding couldn?t have more different. The siding was done exclusively by one of his two siding people that are on his team ? Peter. It took a little longer than most companies would to do siding, but it was worth it. Peter approached the project like a meticulous artist, and provided incredible attention to detail, but not at the expense of completing the work, which took roughly 2 weeks in total. The advantage of having this one person do it was that it produced a crisp, seamless, and consistent look around the whole house. He was also able to identify a few challenges and then solutions that might have been overlooked by a larger team. For example Edgar and Peter found significant exposure/poor insulation under our addition near the basement stairs. Although they didn?t plan for it originally, they added additional material and closed it off in a very elegant way so that the house wouldn?t lose heat from there in the winter. Suffice it to say, we would work with Crystal Exteriors again in a heartbeat. Edgar and his team are amazing.

Edgar, the owner, was excellent. He was friendly, and professional. The free estimate was detailed and accurate. The work performed was professional, prompt and of high quality. We got multiple estimates from other contractors/companies and those estimates came in higher and had very little detail. We are vey happy with Crystal Exteriors' work. We have recommended him to our friends and we will go with Crystal Exteriors again if we have any related projects/repairs in the future.
