Tony gave me an estimate of $2,500 to replace 185 square feet of the asphalt paver sidewalk in front of my house with concrete. He also gave me an estimate of $2,900 to install a 470 square feet asphalt parking pad behind my home. The concrete estimate was in line with most bids that I received; however, it was still $150 greater than the lowest bid that I received. The asphalt estimate was in line with most other bids that I received. Tony agreed to reduce the concrete bid by $150 with no hassle, and I hired F&M for both the concrete and asphalt jobs. This was a great decision. The workers were punctual every morning and worked cleanly. They finished the concrete job in one day and the asphalt job in two days. During the construction period, the workers escorted my neighbors to their cars around the construction zone. I received compliments from my neighbors about how nice the workers were and the quality of their work. The only minor snag in the project came during the excavation period for the parking pad, when one of the workers damaged the clean-out pipe for my main sewage line. However, this was not the worker's fault, because Miss Utility failed to mark the line appropriately prior to the start of the job. Regardless, F&M fixed the damaged pipe the very next day and reoriented the pipe to its proper position at no additional cost to me. Overall, I can highly recommend F&M due to the company's professionalism, competitive pricing, and quality of work.

They promptly gave us an estimate, then we sent in a down payment, and then the service was done. We were very satisfied with the work done. They had a crew of about 5 people and they were very courteous and professional. We did not find any problems with the work done.

They did it in a timely fashion, within 48 hours. They provided the estimate via email. It was excellent, they were very kind. We haven't discounted using them, we are just finalizing the project. They were punctual, professional and I hope we will be able to use them in the future. I had a response within 24 hours of me placing the request. They came out within 3 days, it was a weekend, to do the estimate. Within 48 hours of doing the estimate they emailed me an actual copy of the estimate as well as a follow up email a week after that.

I did not end up hiring F & M because there price was high. However, the contractor was professional.

I submitted an online request to have an estimate done and never heard back from them. I decided to call them 4 days later to check the status of my request and they said that they never received it although I had received an email confirmation. I then asked if I could set something up and they said that I was outside of their service area, even though it says on their profile page that they service the "entire area". 4-3-2012 They update their Angie's List profile as the what areas they do service.

We have a forty year old house and driveway/walkway that was cracked and needed replacement. After much research online and with Angie's help we selected five contractors to interview and obtain bids from. We also walked our development and noticed that F&M had done a lot of driveways and every one of them looked good. We also found a couple of contractors not to use. After we received all the bids we eliminated 3 and concentrated on two; F&M and another contractor. It became clear that after talking to TJ of F&M and reviewing our research again, F&M was the logical choice. They did the work on 3/19/12 and turned out great. The F&M folks showed up on time (7:00am) immediately got to work and did a wonderful job, they were good to work with.

Asked for estimates to replace my 20 year old asphalt driveway with concrete. F&M was $500-$800 cheaper than others in the area. They gave a written estimate. Took out the old driveway, poured in the new one. Finished the job in one day and even seeded the part of the lawn near the driveway that was disrupted. They were great.

I am pleased overall with the entire process with F&M. The driveway and walkway are very attractive and well done and there have been no follow-up issues so far.

We started looking for estimates to replace our asphalt driveway with concrete after a pipe burst underneath the driveway. This left the driveway with a "sink hole". F&M was responsive when we requested the original estimate and with our subsequent questions. Their estimate was on target for the work we wanted completed. They worked to ensure the slope of the driveway was away from the garage. The asphalt driveway had started to slope toward the garage and water would pool at the garage doors during rain storms. Now, no more water flowing into the garage! They completed the work in a timely fashion.

Andy is an excellent service provider. The only thing I think they should have known but did not was local codes/permit process. Other contractors I have hired pulled permits for me in their name. It turns out I did not need a permit but could not get an answer from this company if I did or not. I expect companies to know the codes for the areas they service and to apply for the appropriate permits.

Everything went as promised from start to finish.

They worked with us on a start date. We delayed them once because a landscaper wanted to come in with dirt before we poured, but we didn't want to delay any longer. The start date was September 21, and they called Monday and said they would be there the next day (day before). They were trying to get it in before the next rain storm, so I appreciated that. The first day was demoltion and grading and stone laying for the base. My husband went over around noon that day and there were three guys working--one measuring and staking the step and porch, one digging the trench and one laying stones. He asked who was in charge, and none of them seemed to be--the guy my husband dealt with initially was not there. He finally got the porch guy to talk to him and they all seemed to know what they were doing, so he left them to it. The second morning they poured concrete, bright and early. The third morning was shoveling dirt into dug-up areas, laying grass seed and hay. They cleaned up after themselves and did a good job.

They gave the best estimate, dragged a bit on setting a date but, once committed, they did a high quality job.

Sorry, I cannot provide a fair evaluation of this company, as they never called or E-mailed to schedule a time when they could come out to provide an estimate for concrete work and repairs which we needed done. In other words, we never heard from this company, consequently we will make no attempt to contact them again.

We asked F&M to come out and give us an estimate to have the driveway repaired so that I could get my car in and out of the driveway. TJ came out and gave me an estimate, very prompt and professional. Due to the weather, 3 weeks had gone by. On 6/16/2011 F&M came out to do a dry-run to see where my vehicle was scraping against the ground. F&M was planning on fixing the driveway on 6/18/2011. Once looking at my vehicle, the representative for F&M suggested different ways on entering and exiting the driveway, well it turns out that I didn't have to have it replaced. Although F&M lost this particular job, I have other projects and I will call on them first. I am very impressed with their professionalism and the fact they could have done the job anyway just to get the money. I highly recommend F&M because of their professionalism and morals.

The crew was great, doing a craftsman-like job and insured that the site was clean after each day's work. The company's president was present and actively directing operations every day. We were pleased with quality of their work and would recommend them without reservation to anyone.

They broke the job into sections, which was nice. I was looking at replacing one section of the driveway, and the estimated price for that part was almost $3000. I liked that they gave me options. There were sections that were not needed to be replaced, but some people might have wanted it for uniformity and things like that. They were very compliant with my wishes for breaking up the estimate into sections and very good about getting back to me in a timely fashion. They were very professional in the way they delivered the estimate to me and the followup from the estimate. I want to shop around a little bit more, but there is a chance that I might use them.

I am very pleased. The job was handled courteously and professionally the whole way through, from the estimate through to the clean up, backfill and re-seeding. I appreciated that TJ was able to come out to do the estimate at a time that was convenient for me, and he also offered suggestions for additional work without being pushy. Communication throughout the project was very good. The job start was delayed several months due to the weather (it was unexpectedly colder than normal in December), but to me this shows F&M cares about the quality of their work because they would not try to pour concrete in inappropriate weather just to make a few bucks earlier. The day the work started, the crew was here promptly, and worked steadily throughout the day. I don't even think they took a lunch break (or if they did, it must have been in shifts, because the work did not stop). There was a minor glitch with the job when some of the surrounding brick on the front porch step collapsed during demolition, but F&M quickly came up with a solution that was both sensible and attractive. The new driveway, sidewalk and steps are beautiful, and the yard cleanup was exceptional. I haven't found any stray nails or other debris left over like I have with some prior projects from different companies. I will definitely call F&M for any future concrete work, and I would gladly recommend them to anyone.

Estimator was very helpful in providing alternatives and options for materials and pricing. Crew chief did a great job of making sure we got the results we expected even though it meant having to restake part of the job when we realized the positioning on the first staking was not exactly as we'd discussed with the estimator. Excellent to work with and excellent work product. We would definitely use them again.

F&M Contractors was very responsive from our first phone call through completion of work. We had requested proposals from 3 contractors, F&M was the first to submit a proposal. (The second was received only after calling again, and the third did not respond.) F&M's estimate was competitive and a good value. Their final billing was per the estimate. We had hoped for a little more notice prior to beginning of work, but we were able to be ready for them and were glad to see the work commence. (Better earlier than anticipated than being put off!) They completed the work in two days, their workmanship was good, and the final product looks great!

Very prompt and courtious - or as courtious as a jackhammer can be at 7am. Any questions that I had about the work they were doing were answered quickly or on the rare occasions that they didn't know they would find the answer for me. All of the workers were very friendly and easy to talk to. They remove the old driveway and sidewalks and were able to hack and slash our silver maple's root into submission - the main reason we needed the work done. The job took three days (removal and prep, pouring the concrete, un-framing and resodding) and each days crew kept the traffic and parking issues to a minimum for our neighbors. They policed the work site and didn't leave any trash, empty or used containers or broken tools lying around. The only problem with the work was that the silver maple's trunk and roots were growing so far out into the sidewalk that they could not create a frame as wide as requested. However, they were able to with a great deal of effort on their part get as much sidewalk as possible. They basically created a cut-out for where the trunk of the tree was.

Never had any follow up calls, emails, etc.

Seamless. Also, we were having tile flooring put in our home and the tile flooring contractor was finishing up and still had all his equipment in the front yard. F&M was not fazed by all the confusion that this created.

Excellent- they were very good to work with, gave accurate estimate and finished job was very high quality. All three of us who had the work done were pleased.
