A pipe broke under the concrete in our basement so we hired B McCall Plumbing to come in and breakup the concrete, replace the broken pipe, and repour the concrete. They were fantastic and got the job done in about two days. There were a few scheduling conflicts which changed the times when they would arrive but when they showed up they were great. They cleaned up and removed all the debris and concrete from our home and left our utility room cleaner than when they started. We will definitely be using them for future plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Broke through concrete to get to busted pipe. Removed and replaced broken pipe. Poured new concrete.

I was renovating an upstairs bathroom with new tile, paint, sink vanity, lighting, and mirrors. The vanity was to replace a single basin type with two a two basin type. The bathroom was demo'd, repainted and tiled leaving just the plumbing and trimwork to be completed. My original plan was to just tee off the piping and drainage and pipe everything within the new vanity. After doing measurements, I realized that it would destroy too much of the new vanity and rationalized that a dual pipe/drainage within the wall would be a better idea. Not being from this area, (US Navy) I had no one who I could call for references. Signed up for Angieslist and took the first name with sustained customer satisfaction. Additionally, I purchased a new hybrid water heater and could not find the time to install it. I had called Brian the week previous and he quoted me a price of $1000.00 for both jobs. But if he had to come a second day it would be $300.00 more. A two person crew arrived on the first day (Friday, 30 November) a little after 10am (within timeframe Brian had stated). We discussed what work to be performed, where measurement were to be for the new vanity, and they tackled both jobs simultaneously. By approximately 1pm Brian arrived and one of the original crew members departed. The water heater was installed completely; with total satisfaction. The roughin for the sinks were complete to the point where the basin was to be brought in and installed. At approximately 3pm work was stopped. Brian stated that he would need more men to carry up the vanity and complete the work. This would have to be completed on a separate day. We discussed the plan going forward to complete the remaining work although I would be out of town. Brian setup a time with my wife to come out on 03 December. Over the weekend I had covered the hole in the wall made by the workers (this was explained beforehand that they would not re-sheetrock the wall). Additionally, I reinstalled the baseboards that I would not be able to reach after the vanity was to be installed. On 03 December, three men showed up and brought up the vanity for installation. They were very courteous and completed the work. There was some issues with the install. One of the baseboards I had installed was removed; due to an 1 1/2" difference from original position. When one of the workers asked my wife about it she said that changing the location would not make a difference as long as the door closed. The wall for the vanity is very long and could have compensated for the change in measurement would have been easy. All plumbing connections had plenty of room around them. Instead of moving down to compensation for the difference or cutting off the 1 1/2";they just left the baseboard missing. The opening is only 6 1/2" wide and now I cannot get to the wall to replace it. Additionally, the back splash was not installed nor the vanity's kickplates (has to be installed from the back and under the vanity). After seeing what work was accomplished and what has to be removed to complete; I am not fully satisfied with the work. It had seemed that the second day was just a rush to complete and no care was taken in what the overall project would entail. I knew that the the price was going to be higher; I took at as no shortcuts would be taken and the job would be done right. With the very good comments I had seen on Angie's List it looked to be justified. Brian has good relationship with his folks and you could tell there is a family like relationship. That made me feel better about not being there for the second day. The workers cleaned up after themselves and were on time. Unfortunately, this was a job that could have been perfect if there was just a bit more professional knowledge brought forward on the second day. A simple cut or movement would have fixed the baseboard dilemma. Just a bit of silicone adhesive would have put the back splash on. And reading the directions to the vanity would have solved the kickplate issue.
Description of Work: Installed a new hybrid waterheater in a different location than original. Sweated in new copper piping and hooked up wiring. Capped old piping. Roughed in dual bathroom sinks from an original single basin. To include new copper pipes and PVC drains. Carried up dual vanity and installed.

Very satisfied with Noe! He seemed very experienced since he was able to fix the original problem (leak in main water valve) and the additional request to fix bathroom commode. I would definitely use them again when I need plumbing service!
Description of Work: I called around 9:30AM and within 15 mins I received response for service to come in an hour. My main water valve was dripping and the service man (Noe) explained in detailed the problem. I have had problems with leakage in the past whenever I had plumbing issues and main water had to be turned off and turned on. He gave me options i.e., fix the existing gasket & knob and cost. I opted to replace the knob & gasket since it was an old one. In addition, I had Noe also fixed my basement commode which was leaking water continuously in the toilet bowl. Overall, he completed the job within approximately 1 - 1 1/2 hr.

Of course my sump pump would decide to clunk out during Hurricane Sandy! I called B McCall Plumbing on 10/30/2012 at a few minutes after 2:300 PM for pricing on a sump pump replacement. I was immediately called back by three people with information about their services. I went with this company. They came, replaced the sump pump, and even took a look at my garbage disposal! Kevin and his assistant were prompt, professional, courteous!

I recently purchased a short sale property that was in need of repair especially to the plumbing. I called B. McCall Plumbing & Heating early that morning hoping to have someone come out at least by the end of the week. To my surprise they were able to get someone out to me that afternoon. Raul and his helper arrived as scheduled. I had already purchased a new toilet that needed to be installed in the master bedroom. Also needed to have the other 3 toilets in the home checked. After installing the new toilet, RauI took a look at some items I had purchased to re-do all of the bathrooms (faucets, shower heads, toilet seats, etc). He told me that the items I had purchased were not what I needed and proceeded to tell me exactly what I should purchase. I will definitely use B. McCall Plumbing & Heating for all of my plumbing needs. And, will also refer them to others.
Description of Work: Replaced the toilet in the master bedroom and rebuilt the toilets in the 3 other bathrooms. Evaluated whether a tub or shower could be installed in the bathroom in the basement. Advised us what needed to be done to correct the small leak in the storage room in the basement.

My initial call was received courteously and I received a followup call within minutes. I was given an estimate of $300 and an appointment with a 2 hour window for the next morning. The plumber (Raul) arrived within the first hour that morning. He was courteous and explained the details of the job. He completed the job in a timely fashionand left the area clean. The price was exactly as estimated. Overall a good experience.

Brian inspected my existing toilet and floor around it since the toilet fixture had been leaking. He also went into my basement and check the floor from that angle. He said that no damage had been done to the floor. I told him that I wanted to purchase a new, more efficient toilet since the existing one was so old. The next day two members of the the B. McCall Team arrived and removed my old toilet and installed the new toilet. They were very professional yet friendly and personable. I've had the McCall Team do other plumbing work for me in the past so I was familiar with the guys who came to do the work. As usual, they did an excellent job! I trust Brian and his team and I know that whatever plumbing-related work I may need in the future, they will do an excellent job for a fair price.
Description of Work: Needed to have my 47 year old master bathroom toilet replaced. Called Brian McCall and he arrived the next business day to assess the problem area. Rather than have him replace the bad part causing the leak, I opted to have a new toilet installed.

Overall this company was great in the service. I highly recommend them and would use them again. In fact just today I discovered another problem (not related to the sink) and they were there the same day and on time.
Description of Work: I own a rental property and they were able to work with me to allow enough time for me to get there since I live almost an hour away. I had a clogged kitchen sink that would clear up with treatment and then would slowly clog up again. They snaked the line and found roots growing in the line. The problem is now clear. They cleaned up the mess completely I couldn't even tell that they were there.

After having 4 plumbers come to the house to unclog the kitchen sink with no success...I called B. McCall after seeing them at Angie's List. At first the secretary called me back then Mr. McCall called me and I told him about the problem. He said he can send somebody on Saturday but I opted not to because of the additional charge. So Mr. McCall called me back on Monday as to the time the plumbers will be in. I was not home that time but my Uncle was home and he said they were on time and did a very good job with unclogging the sink. But after that my Uncle said that there was a leak in the basement so he called them back and after an hour they were there. After finding the reason of the leak, they told my Uncle it was from a hole in the pipe being old. So they replaced the pipe that has a hole in it. I tell you they are the only ones who knew where to put the snake gadget to unclog the sink... the other 4 plumbers didn't. Lamont and Kevin (plumbers) are very good.

Excellent. They are in our roledex! See above in services performed.
Description of Work: We had a 1/2 bath toilet that has overflowed on us and this last time was it for us as it flooded in to the bathroom below in our basement. We were referred to B McCall and when we made the initial SOS call, the receptionist/scheduler was extremely nice. They were on time. He snaked the line and the line was clear. The plumber's estimation was that the toilet needed replaced. The house was built in 1991 so it was original. He didnt have a replacement toilet on hand but offered to get it. My husband is handy enough and we were doing other renovations so we opted to install new ourselves. Would we use them again? Heck yes! We arent native to Waldorf so developing relationships with various contractors can be challenging and risky. Rest assure, they are on the up and up and are well established in the community. Their service call was $180 and that is not unreasonable. Plumbing can be a difficult thing because issues can be in a few places and that takes time to eliminate where the problem is.

I was having a problem with a very leaky faucet and the water pressure in my shower was inconsistent. In other words, if it were on cold water, the water pressure was fine, but as I would turn the water handle towards "hot," then the water would slow to a trickle. B McCall was supposed to come on Monday, but called early that morning to reschedule for Tuesday between 8-10am. An employee arrived before 9am, so he was on time. After he arrived, he gave me a worst case scenario but told me to allow him to totally assess the situation before I started to panic about a potential huge repair bill. After being in my home for about an hour, he had fixed the leaky faucet and the water pressure issue. He fixed the shower handle as best he could, but he noted that whoever had fixed the handle before actually bought the wrong type of handle. He mentioned that it was an easy fix that my husband could do, and he wrote down for me what type of handle I needed to buy. He also forewarned about potential problems I will have with my water heater since it was manufactured in 1995 and models that age are known to have problems. He said I should check with my home warranty company as to what their policy is on water heater replacement (i.e., can proactively switch out a water heater that we know can be problematic versus waiting for it to break.). I felt that he was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. All in all -- I feel that the price was fair for the work performed. He also identified a problem with my current shower handle that I didn't know existed and identified another problem that could potentially cost me a lot of money. I appreciated his professionalism and insight.

I used the Angie’s list coupon for this service and it cost me $118.75. This is the second time that I have used them. I was very satisfied with the work that they did the first time and I am equally satisfied the second time. I think the price was reasonable as any other plumber’s price. I used a coupon and it was $125 and they gave me 5% off. I think it was as good as anybody. I will use them again in the future.

We had a leak underneath the kitchen sink. We selected McCall based on their rating. They immediately called us and responded the next day. The service was excellent and the old pcv pipe was replaced with a new one. It took the plumber and his assistant about 30 minutes. So far there are no leaks and we appreciated the prompt service. We will use them again in the future. Thank you, Mr. Torres

I called McCall on 10/27/2011 and spoke to the owner, Brian McCall. His receptionist alerted him to my inquiry about a water heater and he called me while he was on vacation. He described what his staff plumbers would do during a typical water heater replacement assignment and quoted a price, $860, for this work. When I mentioned that a previous plumber had found the water inlet valve to be close to the point of failing and that I wanted to replace it, he said it could be done for between $125-200 and during the same visit. I asked him to schedule the work and he said it could be done the following day, a Friday. He asked which of three time brackets did I prefer and he said he would schedule it for Friday, Oct 28 at 10am-2pm. The following day, during the 10 am-2pm time bracket I requested, I received a phone call from McCall's office inquiring what the appointment time had been for. I was asked if the work could be done between 12 noon and 4 pm, and I agreed. At 130 pm, a McCall plumber arrived, dressed in a company T-shirt and driving a company truck. Noe, the plumber, later told me he had worked for McCall for 21 years. His English was good, though heavily accented. He was quite polite and willing to tell me about the work he did as he was doing it and why it was being done. His brother Pablo assisted him but he said little to me, perhaps because he did not speak English well. The two completed the work in an hour and a half and did so in a very neat manner. It was clear to me that they had replaced many water heaters in the past. Noe wrote the service ticket and subtracted my Angie's List discount at the time of write-up: $959. Heated water began flowing from the faucet a half hour after installation as Noe predicted it would. I am very satisfied with the work that was done and with McCall's plumbers. Nineteen years ago, McCall installed the water heater removed on this visit. I have also had a McCall plumber clear a drain many years ago too. This is a company that renders excellent service, performed by courteous skilled plumbers.
Description of Work: McCall plumbers removed my old water heater, hauled it away, and installed a new one. At my request, they replaced a cold water inlet valve to the house too.

Terrible overall experience. Read above...
Description of Work: No hot water. Tech checked heating elements then voltage coming in to unit. Determined low voltage to water heater is the problem. *** UPDATE*** After having SMECO come out and test the voltage, SMECO found that 2 power wires INSIDE the water heater were disconnected. The wire nut had fallen off and wires disconnected. I called the plumber to report the findings and was told they would not deposit the check and I would not be charged. I checked my bank account this morning and found that they DID in fact cash the check. When I called to inquire, she said that since the tech checked a toilet while he was here (not even on the ticket) I was charged the full price. For the record, the tech didn't even fix the toilet! It is worse than before! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! I will NEVER use them again. BEWARE. The only good thing I can say is the tech was friendly. How can he report low voltage on a unit that has NO power??? Really???
