He has been doing a good job, however he hasn't returned my more recent calls to schedule a return appointment.

I had no problems with the services we received. Both the assessment and installation of the replacement part took less than an hour. Chris and his assistant cleaned up after themselves and were a pleasure to work with.

Excellent service. Since they don't advertise I never would have found them without Angie's List. Well worth the check-up as it had not been serviced in over 10 years.

He cleaned and repaired our gas fireplace downstairs and did a very good job, but when we asked him to provide an estimate to replace our wood fireplace upstairs with a gas fireplace he was lacking information and then never responded to our request to meet again to go over options. We ended up meeting with 3 other companies from Angie's List that were very responsive and informative.

I had a hard time finding any independent contractor who could do this work. Usually the installation is done by someone working for the store where you bought the fireplace. I bought mine in Virginia because no one near me had the make and model that I wanted. But the Virginia vendor would not travel to Germantown, MD to do the installation. I chose Chris because he appeared to be well-qualified and was available to work in my neighborhood. Chris did a nice job with his installation work. The fireplace looks good and works well. My only complaint is poor communications. Chris was doing some work out of state at the time and was not very good about returning calls and emails as I tried to coordinate various contractors working on the project. I gave his contact info to the contractor who was framing the new fireplace and they had a hard time getting him to respond too. This may have been a temporary situation. I would use this contractor again.

I would definitely recommend Chris. I recently moved and brought my natural gas grill with me. So, I needed a natural gas line added to the exterior of the house that I could hook up to on my patio. Even though he had to run the line from the other side of the house (that's where the meter was) Chris was able to add the additional line very quickly, just in time for some Labor Day weekend grilling. His price was much better than other plumbers we had received quotes from. The fact that Chris specializes with natural gas lines and fireplaces put me a ease. And his work was very professional. After the line was tested and inspected he even went so far as to clean the glass front of my natural gas fireplace, which I had yet to use, so that the glass didn't get permenantly stained. I will definitely use Chris for any maintenance involving my gas fireplace.

The installation of the grill was great. Chris does quality work. I've used Chris for several natural gas jobs and he is OUTSTANDING. I will definitely call him again.

Chris Hart is an extremely professional master plumber. When I decided that I wanted gas logs installed in my fire place he promptly came to my house, surveyed the job and provided an reasonable estimate. He coordinated having Washington Gas come to my home and make an adjustment to my gas meter for the log installation. I contacted him once Washington Gas did their part and he did the installation within a few days. Once the logs were installed he tested everything, he cleaned up, and showed me how to operate them, how to turn on and off the gas to the logs, and how and when to clean them. He is a top-notch professional. I have called him out to my home since to repair my hot water heater, install a gas grill, and to do various plumbing work around my home. I can't say enough good things about his services. I recently joined Angie's List so I'm just posting these comments.

Mr. Hart was very responsive to my email inquiry and was able to complete the service call the next day. He arrived an hour late beyond the service call window, however, he promptly called to let me know that he was running late. He serviced the entire gas log fireplace, removing and cleaning all components, and identified the issue that we were having with the pilot. After servicing the fireplace and replacing the broken part he cleaned the glass and his work area and polished the hardware. I was very pleased with his work and would absolutely recommend his work!

Chris was professional, knowledgeable, quick and nice. He called before he came to confirm the appointment. He put down drop cloths to protect the floor and rugs. He was able to pinpoint both problem right away.

After playing phone and email tag, finally fixed an appointment. He arrived on time, called to adjust the time according to his previous job, which was much appreciated. He quickly accurately identified the vintage of the gas logs and what the problem was. Had the part on the truck, researched a gas supply issue he thought could be a problem (turned out to not be a problem, just not normal). Answered my questions about possibly installing gas logs in another conventional fireplace (gas supply on that side of house already completely used up), inspect other odd gas lines in the house to ensure no problems. Finished up quickly and courteously, and cleanly. Bottom line, a real professional who definitely knows his stuff.

We played phone tag for several days, but when we finally connected, Chris was able to show up that afternoon. He quickly diagnosed the remote control problem as dead batteries in the wall received (we had already tried replacing the ones in the handheld remote thermostat) and cleaned and services the logs and burner.

Excellent - after not being able to get a good estimate or installation scheduled from several other companies, he came out within a day or two, inspected our existing fireplace, advised us we needed a full replacement unless we wanted a fire, suggested what to get, arranged to get it, gave us an estimate of costs and time to make the replacement, and got everything done - at the promised cost and within the promised time, which was only a few weeks from the time of the initial estimate. Cannot recommend anyone higher to handle fireplace work - whether it be repairs or full replacement, and if he says he'll do something, you don't need to worry - it will be done.

Came out so it would be ready for Christmas

Gas log fireplace wasn't working. I called and spoke with Chris, explained the problem, and arranged a time to meet at our house. He appeared right when he said he would, diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and cleaned everything up. Looks great.

Chris was great. Had left a message over the weekend and he promptly returned the call Monday morning and scheduled service for one week from Tuesday. Spent at least two hours cleaning the fireplace but then could not get the pilot to ignite. Ended up taking 3 different components back to the shop for testing. Returned the next week with a replacement for the faulty computer board. Installed it but the remote still was now not working. Asked for a new remote. He ordered and delivered and install a newer and refined wall unit/remote 1.5 weeks later. I called Chris rather than the firm that had installed the unit approximately 5 yrs earlier as I wanted new eyes on the unit. Let me tell you he was professional in all respects. He protected the work area with a mat. He made 3 visits to our house to resolve all issues. Of the total price of $515, only $!75 was due to labor. I plan to have Chris come back every year for maintenance (if he recommends it) and would not hesitate to recommend his services to anyone. Thanks to the Angie's List member who wrote a review. I called one other recommended contractor prior to Chris and never received a return call. (that's another review!)

I had never used Chris' services before. I left a voicemail with a description of my issues and the area in which I lived. He responded later that evening and was here two days later. (Another company I called couldn't get here for 3 weeks!) He was very neat, using a padded drop cloth and vacuum to ensure the working area was clean. Not only did he do the work well that I needed performed but was very helpful in giving me some tips for the future...for example, one of the fireplaces has an electronic remote that requires electricity. He took the time to show me how I could use the fireplace in the event of a power outage (like we had during the heavy snows last winter). I was very pleased with his responsiveness and his services.

He has done work for us in the past and he is our go-to guy for any gas help we may need. Highly recommend!

They were very knowledgeable and did a great job. He asked if I was interested in a blower and I told him yes but he told me to wait a until he came back to replace a part and then I would only need to pay him once. I recommended him to a friend of mine as well.

Chris came within the promised time range and called before coming. Excellent results, but it was difficult to get a hold of the company. If you leave a message, Chris contacts you when he has several calls to make in the area. He installs and services gas fireplaces, gas logs, gas stoves, gas grills, etc. Highly recommended.
