I think the work was well done and I am pleased with it, although I do think the price was a bit high -- but in fairness, it was disclosed to me and I agreed to it. My two issues with Mr. Meyer are as follows: 1) I felt that he was not very communicative in terms of options. He would simply tell us what had to be done and everything else was not doable. We would have appreciated the presentation of some more options. 2) He placed a sticker advertising his business on our electrical panel -- which he did not install. Perhaps I'm being overly sensitive, but I don't appreciate someone affixing advertising to my house without asking me -- particularly for work he did not do! In sum, I think the work is of high quality but I would not use him again as for the price he should be more professional and more creative.

Walt Meyer was awesome and very professional. He showed up as scheduled for both the estimate and the work and gets to the point and answered all my questions. I live in Montgomery County, MD and decided to upgrade my electricity by doing a ?heavy-up? while my house is being remodeled. He explained the whole process and all the steps I needed to do (permits, actual electrical work, inspection and utility company hookup) and ushered me through the whole process without a hitch (multiple organizations to deal with besides the electrician). After receiving the estimate, I asked Walt about the panel he would be installing. He was using a copper bus panel and higher quality equipment as best as I can tell from my research. When I was ready, I sent a 1/3 down payment and scheduled a work date. Walt then went to the county office and pulled the permit for the job. After the new panel, water ground and outside grounding rod was installed, Walt informed the county inspector and emailed me the initial inspection date details and the main county inspection office number. At this point I paid Walt the balance of the original estimate and it was my job to meet the inspector and track the date/time they will come over. After coordinating with the county (they switch inspectors at the last moment), the inspector came over to review the work. They county inspector took about 30 minutes to evaluate the outside work and the main panel. The work passed inspection and the county updated their database for approved hookups. This is important because the utility companies will not add the additional power without county approval. I emailed Walt the good news. After the heavy-up passed the county inspections, Walt informed Pepco (my utility company) and emailed me the details of the Pepco work order number. At this point, I had to contact Pepco and arranged a date for when they can hook up the additional power. Pepco said this may take 2-3 months to complete the hook up and forwarded me to the local scheduling office. Luckily, they had an early slot open for the final hookup and I was able to get Pepco to come out within 3 weeks after Walt?s work passed county inspection. What I like the most was Walt did the actual work starting from the estimate to getting a permit to putting in a new panel and informing me of the next step I had to complete to get through the whole process. Not only is Walt Meyer an excellent electrician, he has good knowledge and experience about how the paperwork process works and how to deal with other organizations to complete the job. Definitely will be using Walt Meyer again for other jobs as I remodel our house.

I was looking for someone willing to work around my crazy part-time work schedule, and Walt Meyer was willing to show up early in the morning (about 7:30) to do our small job. He was prompt, knew what he was doing and got the job done -- amazingly, without shutting off our power -- even before my husband needed to go to work. Our morning routine was barely disturbed.

I let Mr. Meyer pick out the bathroon fan. He made a very good choice. I picked out the bedroom ceiling fan. We are very happy with this home improvments.

Within 24 hours of my initial call the problem was fixed. Walt was responsive and professional, I'd unreservedly use him again.

Great! They were on time and finished in the amount of time expected. They cleaned up after themselves and were sure to put down drop cloths, etc. where appropriate to keep things clean and protected.

Walt was contacted for a quote and showed up in the named timeframe. He returned to finish the work the following week. He was professional, timely and completed the job efficiently. I did not get multiple quotes, but the price seemed fair for the amount of work that was requested.

Walt provided the cheapest estimate of the three electricians we called. He scheduled the work within 5 days and arrived promptly as scheduled. The work was completed quickly and Walt and his colleague were clean and professional. We had a few other small tasks and Walt took a look at them for us at no extra charge. We will definitely use him in the future.

They are incredibly thorough and are very meticulous with their work. They were on time and were very knowledgeable. It was a great experience. I would highly recommend him. They are not the cheapest company but he is the best electrician I have encountered in the United States. He provided me with labor plus materials. The products were all top of the line.

Walt Meyer and a helper showed up before appointed time. Went right to work assessing work to be done. Concluded that one work item, changing a switch & outlet in the bathroom, would require major rewiring and plaster work, and more time than phone estimate. So did not do. Deducted $50 from original phone estimate. Disassembled ceiling fan and removed receiver. Tested wiring. Installed and connected replacement Hunter fan replacement receiver customer had procured. Verified that remote control and receiver dip switches were set to communicate with each other. Tested fan operation. Problem solved. Checked and verified circuit breaker box for circuits controlling kitchen wall outlets and appliances. Determined that a minor wiring change could separate the circuits controlling microwave and toaster oven. Did so and installed a GFI outlet to replace ordinary outlet. Problem solved. Total time: approx. 2 hours Walt is a professional electrician. He takes the time to understand the customer's problem, carefully tests electrical wiring before and after his work. Thereby avoiding return visit, dissatisfied customer, and added costs for both himself and customers. Explains what he will do before doing it so that customer understands the reasons for his decisions. He didn't try to up-sell me or "super size" a small job. Mr. Meyer provides phone estimates for relatively minor jobs. He makes appointments within a week and keeps to his appointed time.

Meyer Electric did a big job for us, including electrical, lighting, and ceiling fan work. Everything went very well, and we were pleased with the work. It is not about six years later, and everything still works great. One thing that was really great about what Walt Meyer did was that he did his best not to create a lot of holes in the wall or other damage that would have to be repaired. He installed a lot of lights (and a fan) and there was very little that had to be done "afterwords" to fix any holes, etc. We were having a painter come in afterwords, so we were prepared to have him patch thing up, but he hardly had anything to do. Meyer Electric did a great job with our project, and we would definitely use them again. In fact since this job was done, we have!

Meyer Electric expertly fixed a problem with our disposer/dishwasher wiring. Our disposer had stopped working. Thinking it was a problem with the disposer, which was under warranty, we called Sears to come out for a warranty repair/replace visit. Sears came out and got confused with the wiring and took everything apart. Since it was an electrical problem and not a problem with the disposer itself, we were charged $132 by Sears for the visit! And when they left, all the wires were apart and not only did the disposer not work, but the dishwasher was no longer wired either. So, we called Walt Meyer, of Meyer Electric Services. He had done some excellent work for us several years ago with a big lighting project, so we were confident he could help. We were fortunately able to set up an appt within a short time, and he came out (with his able assistant) and was able to diagnose and fix the problem very quickly, in less than 1 hour! Now everything is up to code and is safe and clear, and best of all, everything works. They also marked everything clearly so that the wiring will not be "confusing" to future workers. After the job, they cleaned up. Throughout, Walt and his assistant were professional and friendly and respectful. We will definitely use this company again!
