After obtaining various quotes, this company provided the most reasonable one. The owner of the company personally provided the quote and explained the process. Work was done as promised and promptly. Passed the inspection with no problems. Now we are waiting for PEPCO to perform the last step of the whole process.

Great! Walt Meyer communicated with me via Angie's List and via email about when he could come by to do the electrical inspection. I wanted an inspection done specifically of my newly constructed basement; the general contractor might have used unlicensed subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, and mechanical work. Walt examined the basement electrical work and found some code violations that needed to be fixed. He very kindly noted them down and emailed them to me so I would have them in writing. He gave me his thoughts on unlicensed contractors in DC and potentially what could have happened with my basement; I really appreciated this. Walt Meyer clearly is an experienced electrician who knows what he is doing. I would definitely hire him for any electrical work and highly recommend him to others.

Meyer communication was extremely poor. Did not show up for scheduled appointment. Then told me I did not responded. however I called and emailed for confirmation of appointment, and additionally bought this coupon to support the appointment. Meyer does not want my business and i am taking it somewhere else.

We had several dead outlets. Resetting the circuit breakers did not solve the problem. Two people from Meyer Electrical came on relatively short notice and were punctual. They correctly diagnosed a faulty circuit breaker and replaced it and another one that was warm to the touch... something I had never seen before. They did good work with a professional manner at a good price. We'll call them again when needed.

I purchased a deal for an outdoor electrical outlet installation. They showed up on time, looked at the best location to bring the cable outside and mounted the outlet box to my stone exterior. It went very smoothly and they were out of there in a lot less time than I had anticipated. Will definitely bring them back for other work.

Walt was quick to respond to my Angie's List message, and he came out two days later to give us our free estimate. He was prompt, professional, and very good about explaining the work he recommended doing. Once we hired him, Walt and his team arrived at 7a each day over the course of two days to do a lot of work on a very old house. While his two team members performed the work, Walt went to the DCRA and got all of the appropriate permits necessary to complete the project on our historic house, and he came back to afterwards to check that everything was in proper order. Walt was very quick to respond to both email and phone. I would absolutely use Walt Meyer Electric again for any future electrical projects.

I purchased a coupon for a ceiling fan installation from Meyer Electrical for $180 because I incorrectly thought I had used this vendor previously. The work was completed as scheduled and was well executed, but the cost of installing an electrical box was exorbitant, and the coupon was not much of a "discount". The electrician installed the electrical box and then told me of the cost after he had completed installation. Ultimately, the work performed cost twice as much as another electrician I had found on Angie's List who performed the same exact work, including installation of an electrical box, in a different room in my home two months earlier.

Beyond disappointing and the rebuttal to the review I made which is based in fact, was QUITE different than the actual emails, which I am more than happy to have copied/pasted below. Read for yourself, below is the information. Mr. Meyer, I still do not have an answer from you nor any other support. I have used Walt Meyer and Meyer Electrical for many electrical needs (my home was built in 1966 and we are bringing it into the 21st century). I found them thru Angie's List where they were rated a+ Mr. Meyer has been responsive to each and every request. His employees are punctual, handle the electrical issue and give excellent service. While dealing with some rewiring issues, he discovered that the company who previously installed our 20KW generator did not do it correctly (IE: set generator on pea gravel and not a base, did not put a wire harness to the unit so the main power cable was loose and a possible shock hazard, had the cable on the ground etc.), His employees walked me through the issues, fixed the issues for me. Everything went smoothly. No complaints.

The electrician was on time and did the work efficiently. I had some questions about how the wiring worked, and he helpfully answered my questions. It was a pretty straightforward job and everything was smooth from start to finish. I bought my own smoke alarm/CO detector, so I paid only for labor. I am very happy with the services performed.

They did all they said prompt no cmplaints

The electrician faced a problem well below his skill-level: the laundry dryer lacked power because of a loose connection at its back. He tightened the connection, made sure the dryer was getting correct heat, apologized to me that I had to hire a professional to do a basic task, and charged me only the service call rather than labor as well.

Mr. Meyer did an excellent job; all phases of the project were done well and completed in a timely manner. He was professional and thorough; he explained what he was doing and why and kept us up to date on how things were going. We are happy with the work Mr. Meyer did and would engage his services again.

The room did not have a ceiling fixture because the light switch was connected to the electrical outlet for a floor lamp in the room. The technician installed the ceiling fan electrical box in the ceiling and wiring to the wall switch with minimal dry wall cuts. Then the technician installed the ceiling fan and wall control switch for the fan and light. The technician was very professional and friendly and did an excellent job. I am extremely pleased with the work provided my Meyer Electrical Services for the price.

Charged an additional $39 after we spoke on the phone and he did not mention that when we discussed fixing my garbage disposal. He should have communicated better and been clear about the the price when we spoke. If he would have told me about the additional $39 before he did the work I would have called to get a refund.

It was a great experience. Scheduling was easy. Walt got back to me the same day and the technician fixed the problem the following morning. Our halogen light was not working and the technician diagnosed the problem (the dimmer switch) quickly and replaced our switch. My only issue is that it cost $150 to fix a simple problem but that price might be standard. Next time I will probably call 1 or 2 other companies for a price comparison. It is likely I will use Meyer Electric again.

I was very happy with Meyer Electrical. A representative answered my phone immediately and gave me an estimate on the phone that proved to be correct. I scheduled the work for later in the week and the work was done well. Prompt, professional, and high quality work over all.

I spoke to and worked directly with the owner of the company, Walt Meyer. This was great because I wanted the person who was doing the installation to be the same person who would initially assess the work because my service entry cable was starting to deteriorate and I didn't want any "surprises" upon starting the job. Walt was fabulous. His estimate was about mid-range of other estimates that I had received but the warranty he offered was very good. He was very professional, courteous, very detailed, and responsive to my questions. Walt explained the process step-by-step, which I really appreciated due to the condition of the old existing equipment, and he was always accessible by phone and email. Walt and his associate Ben kept on schedule, tested and labeled each circuit, and also gave me the warranty books (you?d be surprised at the number of contractors who fail give you the warranty information). Meyer Electric obtained the necessary permit and coordinated the inspection (we passed inspection without any issues). He conducted each phase of the job, from scheduling and estimating to installing and coordinating inspection, at the time he promised he would and at the price he said he would. Working with him and his company was a breeze and I would highly recommend his company to anyone and I would hire him again.

The young man was punctual, professional and proficient. This is our second time using this company and would call them again if needed.
