Professional, knowledgeable and very impressive execution. I collected 5-6 quotes. Kustom Floors was actually the highest (!) bidder but the proposal was far superior to those of the other firms; the quality of material, technique and timely delivery very impressive. I received their proposal one day after the salesman came out. His team then put in a 600 ft2 floor within 24 hours of our agreement and in three days time the job was done. The work team of three guys were friendly, on time, and showed pride in their quality work. Fully satisfied with the job and will turn to them again for flooring work.

Rudy and his team are outstanding. Very professional from the first day he came over to provide estimate to the completion of the work. This was our largest investment in our home since we purchased it 18 years ago. Rudy and his team sanded and stained our prefinished floors in our entry way into the kitchen; removed capreting in our study; family room; living room; dining room and second floor hallway and our 4 bedrooms. The sanding, staining and installing new floors in the other parts of the home was very well done and well organized. Rudy said he would treat our home like it was his home and he sure did. During the flooring installation we decided to have special molding installed to add that special touch and one of his employees performed that installation and it all looks beautiful. I plan on using Rudy and his team to renovate our basement next year so that wood floor work will be our second project with Kustom Floors and possibly our kitchen. Rudy and his crew were professional and responsive and the floors were installed with absolute precision and perfection. There were times that I didn't always know when they would show up to work, and there were a few days they arrived later in the morning and stayed later in the evening, but I will caveat that by saying that the house was vacant while they were working and they had their own key. They made sure to get the project done on time so that I could move in on schedule and Rudy came back the day after completion to inspect everything and make sure everything was clean and the project was 100% complete. They were more expensive than other providers but Rudy is incredibly knowledgeable and his crew is very skilled. I will use them again for custom hardwoods when the time comes to remodel other portions of my home.

Rudy provided an estimate for the work. He was extremely knowledgeable and obviously an expert in this area. Rudy was very patient and answered my all my questions about the process and final outcome. Rudy and his team were incredibly responsive. He provided thorough explanations and communicated how the job would proceed. This was particularly important since I an extended overseas business trip and needed to coordinate packing along with moving the furniture and coordinating a kennel for my pets. While I had other quotes, I had the confidence that Rudy and his team would deliver and they did. A previous modification to steps into the sun room from living room and dining room into the sun room was uneven. They pitched and the craftsmanship didn't match that of the original 1940's white oak floors. Rudy assured me that his team could provide a seamless transition, and despite the additional cost, I was grateful for the recommendation--a recommendation that no other company offered or recommended. The first riser to the main staircase also had a huge crack that no other company cited, and again Rudy noted how it could be addressed. In this and other areas he far exceeded my expectations. All of this work was conducted while I was 8,000 miles and five time zones from home. I was appreciative of the prompt responses to my texts with updates on the floor refinishing and modifications. I returned home from the airport and he delivered on his promises. I would happily hire his team back--something I don't advocate for every contractor I've used. They were professional in every sense, and he really works to educate you as to your options.

The team handled moving all of the furniture, which given it was an apartment, there wasn't much place to put it. It required them doing the job in two parts, but you'd never know when you look at the finished product. The team put down a flawless finish and I couldn't be happier. They cleaned as they went and I came home to a lot less dust then i was anticipating. Rudy takes great pride in the work he does, and he's not happy until you are. I would use Rudy again in a heart beat.

They were very punctual and completed the work in two days. They did an excellent job.

Rudy was very good at briefing us what was involved, the various finishes that could be applied, and even recommended the finish that would look best for the oak and yellow pine floors. The work was carried out over four days. The crew arrived punctually every day. The work was done professionally, and completed on time. The crew also cleaned up after completion of the job. Rudy and team completed this extensive job in less than 3 weeks. They faced several unexpected problems along the way and offered reasonable solutions. Rudy responded immediately when we had questions. We've completed three renovations before and this was the smoothest by far. We couldn't be happier with the final product. The floors are beautiful.

I was desperately in need of someone good to repair a one inch hole in my hardwood floor made by a repairman from another company. From a company's point of view this was a small job. From my point of view, it was a huge problem as to whether my floor would ever look good again and also whether, in making the repair, more damage would be done. Rudy immediately agreed to help me. He gave me the correct wood to take to my house so that it would be the same temperature as the wood floors at the time of the repair. He worked me in within two days of my call. He came personally, as did his employee, Will. Both took great care with my floor. They did the minimum necessary so that there was no further damage. They carefully tried to match the original wood and did a good color match. Rudy made two trips, both at the beginning and at the end of the repair. They clearly cared and made an effort even though this was really to help me, and not a large job for their company. I will go to them for all flooring needs in the future. I had gone to a lot of hardwood floor retailers and done a lot of research on the subject before contacting Rudy of Kustom Floors. He was one of only a couple hardwood floor installers that had expertise in hard wax oil finishes. I have 2 large dogs and was concerned about scratches in polyurethane finishes. Rudy spent a lot of time describing the pros and cons of different finishes, and trying to come up with the right color stain. This involved 2 trips to my house and a couple to his house/showroom to look at his own floors and stained/finished board samples he had made. In the end I chose a Bona traffic HD water-based urethane. Rudy's brother, Jimmy, and his crew, did a great job installing and finishing the floors as well as repairing squeaky and water damaged joists. He undercut my stone hearth so that the hardwood flows underneath, and installed hardwood floor grates that blend in beautifully with the floor. The stain turned out to be the perfect color. The floors still look beautiful a year later. There are many scratches from the dogs, but as Rudy advised re: the Bona finish, they are indentations in the more flexible finish, rather than scratches that take off the finish. They are for the most part only noticeable from close up with the light at an angle. I don't know that there is anything that is any better with heavy dogs (67 lbs) on the wood. I would highly recommend Rudy and his team.

Rudy was an absolute professional. While we were weighing our options, he walked us through the process and invited us to his showroom, which doubles as his house. He's a great communicator and was able to accommodate our rather tight timeline. We were dead set on renovating our house with toxic-free materials and Kustom Floors had lots of experience with these concerns. We opted for full sanding, finished with Rubio Monocoat on our original white oak floors, red oak stairway, and long leaf pine kitchen. During the process, we found water damage below the refrigerator and so Rudy arranged for a carpenter to reinforce the floor and replace a few of the boards. Everything turned out fantastic. It's been more than a year now and it really holds up. Looks and feels great! Thank you, Rudy, and thank you Kustom Floors!

I was very pleased with the work performed by Kustom Floors. We had received many quotes to replace a 6' by 10' portion of hardwood flooring in our library which was damaged by a flood and I chose Kustom Floors to perform the repair because I was very impressed with the owner, Rudy and his explanation of how his company would perform the repair to blend in the replaced wood flooring with the rest of the undamaged flooring. Custom Floors arrived to start the job on time and completed the job within the allotted time. They moved all the furniture out of the library and replaced the water damaged wood. They sanded the entire library floor and finished it with a stain that matched the floor in the rest of the house. Even though some of the damaged wood had to be removed from beneath a built-in bookcase, they removed the wood without damage to the bookcase. They also installed a transom between the wood floor in the library and the floor in the adjoining room which nicely demarcated the refinished flooring from the flooring in the adjoining room. Overall, we were very pleased with the work done by Kustom Floors and would highly recommend them.

It went very well. I expected there to be a lot of work due to the history of the house. I wasn't surprised at the length of time needed and the company had been up front. It helped that the house was vacant and I lived close by so I could check on it. Some of the workers made some missteps (literally) and put holes in the ceiling. However, these were repaired very nicely. There was also a lot of retouching to do on the walls because of the effect of the floor work and they were contentiousness about completing that. It helped that I had all the matching paint.

Arnold could not have been more accommodating. He sanded and refinished the stairs which were not the color my wife wanted. Without question, he resanded the stairs and repainted with a stain that more closely represented our wooden flooring. He was always available and the time estimate was spot on. The work was beautiful. My only issue was with the final part. Any work that has to be done to drywall (spackling or painting) will be sub-par. Unfortunately, most banisters end flush into some drywall so this work is necessary. Upon inspection, I had this drywall work redone 2-3 times and was still left with a less-than-professional outcome. Arnold said this is not his core business, but his elegant work and excellent customer service come up short when the final product is lacking due to something simple like drywall sanding and painting in a small area. If I had to do it all over again, I would again hire Arnold, but would do the drywall work myself. All of this should be part of the job, but it seems disjointed and sloppy at the end.

We are no strangers to working with Rudy and Kustom Floors, as we are in the final days of a three phase home remodeling. We have worked with this great company for each of these projects, and we would not consider any other contractor for this work. In this phase, we replaced our ceramic kitchen floors with hardwood, replaced a previously unexposed section of a sunroom floor that they installed almost 2 years ago, installed hardwood stairs, replaced 122 balusters, updated the newels with caps and bases, sanded and stained the handrails and newels to match the new stairs, and installed carpet in all of our upstairs bedrooms and hallway. Much of this work was quite the challenge, as our great room adjoins the kitchen, and the floors were refinished by Kustom Floors over 3 years ago. They are older floors (beveled), and the kitchen does not have the bevel, but Jimmy (who is a true craftsman and an extremely talented and patient man!), laid the floors beautifully and matched the stain perfectly. In addition, we removed a fireplace from the sunroom, which exposed the old ceramic flooring underneath. We had the floors in that room replaced 2 years ago, so the task was to remove the section we exposed, pull up some of the wood to create a seamless floor, and then sand and re-stain the entire floor to match the adjacent room. Mission accomplished - and we couldn't be happier! Our handrails were old and in great need of updating. The rail heights are unusual, but nevertheless, they cut all 122 balusters to the custom height and did an amazing job of installing them in a single day. Over the three years and three phases of working with Kustom Floors, we have depended upon Rudy's suggestions and expertise to help elevate our original vision to bring an elegance to our home. And Jimmy never cut a corner, pointed out small things that troubled his eye, and made the adjustments as he saw fit. What more can you ask for? Do not hesitate to work with this fine company. You will not be disappointed!
