Celestial Solar did a phenomenal job installing solar panels on my home. Jim spent time significant time walking me through the panel options and pros and cons of each option. Once I signed the contact, the time to installation was incredibly quick - they were installed and operational a month before I expected. The installation crew was professional and friendly. Finally, the company handled all of the paperwork for me to get my credits etc. The entire experience was seamless. I have only positive things to say about Celestial Solar and would recommend them without hesitation.

We talked to about a half dozen solar companies before taking the plunge to have solar installed for our home. We went with Celestial, because they offered the best combination of knowledge/experience and return on our investment. It was a little confusing, because the estimates for how much we could produce varied widely and we have a wooded lot with an open yard and southern exposure, so it was hard to know who was correct. In the end, Celestial's offer seemed best and about four months in, we are producing solar at a rate that is on target for the estimates we received (even considering that we have not been through the leaner winter months with less daylight). So far, we are very happy with this decision. We refinanced our home to do several major projects and solar is the one that i already paying us back!

I wholeheartedly recommend Celestial Solar to anyone considering going solar. From the initial inquiry to the establishment of my SRECTrade account, Jim and his team were professional, informative, attentive to detail, and oriented towards my specific situation. They do it right. Here is some of the detail of my experience: Jim immediately differentiated Celestial Solar from the three other companies under consideration with his focus on my questions and concerns, a realistic assessment of the roof’s solar potential, and the tradeoffs regarding the number, location and quality of panels. He provided his recommendations, but made it clear that the decision was mine. Because we had to replace our roof prior to proceeding, Jim put me in touch with PJ Roofing with whom Celestial Solar frequently works. PJ Roofing not only installed the roof, it used the solar plan to relocate the attic fan, exhaust fans and plumbing stacks on the south-facing roof so the 21 panels could be optimally installed in one large block across the roof. Importantly, PJ Roofing and Celestial Solar had the lowest combined cost out of the 4 quotes. The crew installed the panels flawlessly in a day and a half. They clearly knew exactly what to do, and based on the light-hearted chatter, clearly enjoyed what they were doing. They minimized the amount of exposed conduit on the outside wall and roof – a concern of my spouse - by running it through the attic. As a testament to the quality of the installation I personally checked every roof rafter in the attic to see if any lag screws had “missed”. None had. I was particularly impressed with Travis, who did the detailed measuring of our roof and its solar potential and who waited for the County Inspector to arrive to approve the installation. While waiting Travis patiently answered my endless questions and explained the Enphase Energy System and Micro inverters to increase my comfort level. When one micro inverter seemed to have a spotty connection, he immediately climbed on the roof to resolve it and then verified the performance and serial number of the other 20. Even after I flipped the switch (literally) to turn on the system, Jim and Becky made sure I was familiar with the Enphase App, had the appropriate information for the Federal Tax Credit, Maryland’s Residential Solar Rebate Grant, and REC Certification. They also established SRECTrade account and explained how it worked. I have provided this much detail to convey the specifics of my experience was so positive. We looked into various solar panel installers before choosing Celestial Solar. We have had the installation up and running now for about six months and are very pleased with the performance. Celestial Solar is a family-owned business which is both very professional and very hands-on. They took care of all the paperwork to set us up to get the various credits and related online services. The owner, Jim Reilly, has been very responsive when I have sent email questions and helped me understand how the utility bill dovetails with the info that comes from the system monitoring application. Our system was installed during the pandemic and all the installers wore masks and were respectful of social distancing from us. We were particularly impressed with the care they took in designing our system so that it delivers as promised. We would recommend Celestial Solar with complete confidence.

I already reviewed Celestial Solar for the great work they did on my install last year, but I wanted to add this because their follow-on customer care has been as great as the initial work. We're doing work on our house and needed to move our inverter, and despite it being the busiest time of the year Jim fit us in his schedule and did the work at a very reasonable cost. In addition, I've had a few questions over the past year and Jim has always been responsive and informative. I love that Jim and his crew is as responsive and professional after our install as they were when we were shopping around. That's the sign of true professionals who care about their work and their customers. If you're considering solar, go with these guys.

I chose Celestial Solar Innovations after talking to at least 5 different companies. I was immediately drawn to this company just based off of the reviews as scrolling through clearly shows a lot of happy customers. After talking to Jim, it was clear he backed up what he was saying. I had countless phone calls/emails with him and he was always incredibly patient. I appreciated the fact I directly talked to the owner of the company and not just a salesman having to hear all of their pitches. Throughout the whole process, Jim was always and readily available. Communication was never an issue, even during the 7-8 week long delayed process to get permits thanks to COVID. Jim and his company stayed on top and things and updated me along the way. Install was done in 2 days and went off without a hitch. Passed inspections without issue and now I am up and running without any issues whatsoever! Overall, I would do it again if necessary - no questions asked! Highly recommend this company without hesitation.

Jim the owner, personally explained all our options, the process, the products available, the expected results etc. He is knowledgeable, prompt, friendly and thorough, and he remains available to happily answer questions before, during and after the install. His team of installers was also excellent. Their work was neat and efficient and they were a happy crew and pleasant to have around. And our system works great. Also, the company's office staff does all the heavy lifting to ensure customers get their rebates without having to do much paperwork themselves.

After wasting 6 months with another local solar company and getting no where, I decided to call Jim at Celestial Solar and glad I did. He has an excellent company that does a tremendous job. No pressure sales like the larger solar companies. He also does not try to sell you the standard cookie cutter package like the larger companies do, he is willing to customize your solar solution to whatever you want. Prices right in line with other solar installers I talked to. Communication was excellent and the job was completed when I was originally told it would be. All of the install crew members were professional and courteous and did a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend Celestial to anyone interested in solar.

From a technical, business, and overall interaction perspective, we were delighted from beginning to end with the honest transparency, quality work and responsiveness of Jim and his entire team. After checking with several suppliers and receiving phone or internet responses and quotes, Jim immediately stood out in wanting to come and meet with us after gathering some preliminary information. Unlike many contractors, Jim spoke to both of us (not just the husband). He was very knowledgeable and, more importantly, able to move from technical details to layman’s language as we needed it. With our ground-mounted solar panels, we looked to save some money by doing the trenching ourselves and Jim was very accommodating of this throughout the project. She really did all of the leg work in getting us set up to apply for the Maryland State energy grant, the on-line monitoring of the solar panel performance, and the Solar Renewal Energy Certificate process. Finally, now that the process is completed and we are up and running, Jim continues to be responsive to any odd-ball questions we have. Unlike other providers we considered, we know that he and his organization are available to us. You should not go solar until you at least have a conversation with Celestial Solar. Celestial Solar is a great business to get your solar panel system setup with no hassle and a transparent process. We interviewed and received quotes from 5 companies, most of which were more interested in selling us what they wanted to sell rather than what we were requesting. Celestial Solar made sure to not only get us the product we wanted at a reasonable price, but they did a great job of estimating our needs and the time frame for each step while communicating throughout the entire process. Their customer service and sales teams are very friendly and not pushy at all and allowed us the time to review proposals and make our decision. They were very transparent when it came to pricing and how they determine cost benefits. I had done a lot of calculations prior to our search for a company to purchase and install our system and it was very refreshing to see their numbers were very similar to mine. At this point we have had the system turned on for about 7 months, generating 12.31 MWh out of the 17.2 MWh that we aimed to generate in per year saving , us $1850 so far. We have not had to pay an electric bill since the first full month of our system being operational, which Celestial Solar made sure to help us meet our timeline of going live before the summer for maximum output on our first year. Excellent company and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a high quality system with easy to work with people.

“Five years and six companies later” I first considered solar in 2014. The lease option seemed to not provide much benefit to the homeowner. In 2019 I got serious about installing solar, interviewing five companies. Most of the companies were heavy on the marketing approach and a bit slow in addressing technical questions. Jim Reilly of Celestial Solar Innovations was different. No pressure to buy, but an interest in answering technical questions and discussing pros and cons. I purchased a 39-panel array rated at 12.09 kWp. Installation was completed on time with no problems. The workmen were personable and knowledgeable. NO call-backs for installation problems. Jim Reilly also put me in contact with a roofing company to install a new roof which provided a solid base for the solar installation. I am very comfortable with my decision to choose Celestial Solar Innovations for my solar installation.

Jim Reilly/Celestial Solar were great. Jim came to the house a couple of times, explained the entire process, brought samples, and reviewed the merits of different manufacturers, designs and costs. He set up all the needed documents with the utilities and the county/state, and made it easy for me to complete the forms and sign off. To his credit, Jim had to figure out how to install the panels on my unusually tall residence, but he did and his talented professional team did so on the most unusually hot days in September, without incident or complaint. They look and perform great and are not even noticeable. Celestial Solar monitors the systems and also keeps in contact and makes sure that I am enjoying it and taking advantage of potential credits. I could not be happier with Celestial Solar.

Jim and his team of installers delivered on everything they said they would, and we couldn’t be happier with the output of the system. Getting a zero bill in July, instead of the usual $260+, when your AC is at 68 degrees is better than I had anticipated. We had been thinking about going solar for about 5 years, but wanted to wait until we replaced our roof. We looked at two other larger companies, but decided to go with Jim because his price was competitive, his reviews were amazing, and we liked the idea that Jim could tell us everyone that was going to be involved in ever facet of our project. As appose to the larger companies that just said that qualified professionals were going to take care of us. Jim and his team took care of everything, all we had to do was sign up for a Pepco account to electronically sign documents on the interconnect, sign a form from MD to get $1,000 check from them, sign up to trade our SREC credits, and or course write some checks to Celestial. Jim and Becky did all the rest. It was truly effortless on our part. As far as the system is concerned, our Panasonic HIT 325 panels have actually outperformed Jim’s estimates. Not by a lot, but it is certainly better than underperforming. We had to upgrade our electric panel to meet code, which entailed some drywall work, and everything looks just like it did before. This is my first online review I have ever done, but I think Celestial definitely earned our business and I would recommend them to anyone.

During installation, they performed exactly as promised in terms of schedule, clean-up, and price. The install crew were polite, quick, and tidy. The follow-up was equally thorough, with a knowledgeable technician visiting to ensure our system was working, generating power, and connected to the on-line monitoring system so we can track our energy production. Celestial Solar made things easy by doing the paperwork needed to obtain permits, manage the switch with BGE, and submit our documentation for solar energy tax credits. We are delighted with the results of our project with Celestial Solar.

I could not be happier. This was the purple unicorn of home improvement projects - everything happened exactly as the contractor said it would, exactly when he said it would, and at the price he said it would cost. And even more importantly - the system works exactly as he said it would work, if not better. I don't know how things could have gone better - Jim was knowledgeable and professional from my initial call and meeting with him. When we decided to wait a year, there was no pressure and no negativity. He stayed in touch and when we were ready to go ahead he was our first choice. It was clear that he was advising us on what was best for our house and usage, not what was the most expensive or profitable. His crew was professional and efficient and left the job site spotless. Our system has been up and running for just over a month and is out-producing the initial estimates. If you're considering solar, we can recommend Celestial more highly.

Jim was amazing---informative, professional, and knowledgeable. We had bids from several solar providers and none of them came close to the personal attention we got from Jim. And Celestial Solar Innovations was clearly the best. He worked with us to get the size and look of the panels. He helped us with timing since our new house build had several delays. He helped answer my questions throughout the process. He helped ensure that the Tesla battery installation would work seamlessly. And working with him was a dream. He also made sure that we got a great deal on the panels so that we bought them before a price increase. His installation crew were also really good----the panels and equipment were installed efficiently and neatly---and they also answered many questions, making sure I understood how it worked. Prior to installation, our bill was $150 just to run the HVAC and some electrical outlets since the house is under construction. For the past 4 months, our bill has been $8 a month. In addition, Becky was very helpful in following up on making sure I understood about applying for Tax Credits. I would highly recommend him and Celestial Solar Innovations to anyone considering Solar. You will get a great deal and great service.
