Description of Work: They framed three pictures. The person working the counter was helpful picking frame and mat. They promised it before Thanksgiving but really ran close to that deadline (weekend before). Still work was great and I'd recommend them.

+ -1 moreThey did a great job. We were very pleased. The prints itself were not inexpensive so we wanted quality work on the frame. We weren't in a rush and they were busy with Holiday orders so we told them we were going to be out of town so it took about a month but we weren't disappointed because we were not in a hurry. They are very professional and they have a good selection. We didn't really have to follow up with them but our order was done when they said it's going to be done.
Description of Work: Catonsville Custom Framing & Fine Art framed two prints we purchased in Santa Fe around Christmas.

+ -1 moreThis was the second framing job we have had done by Catonsville Framing. The person who initially helped us with the selection of the frame and matting was very helpful and patient. We were very satisfied with the framed advertisement when we picked it up. We had tried to use the framing department in one of the big craft stores but were not happy with the service we received or the expertise of the staff.
Description of Work: Framing of a vintage radio advertisement meant to be hung in a radio dealer's window.

+ -1 moreTheir staff spent at least 45 minutes with us choosing the right frames and matting for the pieces. It was clear that they listened to our likes and dislikes, rarely picking out a frame that didn't match our style. The painting received a simple wooden frame with no matting or glass (standard). For the charcoal drawing, we chose a simple black frame and selected the two matting colors (a dark grey and warm white) that made the charcoal and paper pop. The two art prints were in an art nouveau style. The staff helped us select beautiful and delicate natural frames and matting in three shades that complemented the colors of the prints. They look stunning! When we received them, the glass on one of the pieces had the sticker of the matting size barely visible in the frame (you couldn't see it looking straight at it, but when it was elevated on the wall you could). Catonsville Custom Framing took the picture back and fixed it in less than 24 hours and gave us a gift certificate for our trouble. They couldn't have been nicer about it. Now that the pictures are in our home, it's clear that they listened to the wall color and orientation in the room. The pieces look phenomenal.
Description of Work: My husband and I moved to a new home and needed some artwork framed. We had 1 painting, 1 charcoal drawing, and 2 art prints. Of the 4 items we had framed or matted and framed, the painting and charcoal drawing were original works that were done by family members and extremely important to us. Catonsville Custom Framing treated them with the utmost respect and care.

+ -1 moreThe results were flawless. Both photos look modern and stylish, yet simultaneously are faithful to the time in which each was taken. A perfect, balanced treatment. I am extremely pleased and grateful to have a framing gallery on which I can rely. I also think it?s worth noting that the location ? a small space on a busy stretch of Frederick Road in Catonsville ? is not meant to impress. That just confirms to me that the focus is on the quality of the work they perform. I have used Angies List to find such equally important services as dog sitters, movers and home IT people. Catonsville Custom Framing exceeded my expectations and met my high demands. You can entrust your most important piece of art and/or piece of family history to them. Well cared-for will they be.
Description of Work: I initially found Catonsville Custom Framing while Googling for a gallery in Baltimore that could stretch a painting my spouse and I have commissioned with an artist in Oregon. We have commissioned a large painting of a rural scene in Northeast Oregon to hang in our living room. Given its intended size and the distance it will travel, we wanted to have a reliable and talented firm in Baltimore that could expertly stretch the canvas upon arrival without damage. We spoke with the folks at Catonsville Custom Framing who were reassuringly knowledgeable. This is not the kind of service that you can easily track down by checking with friends. I then decided that it would be a good idea to do a test run with smaller, yet equally important projects. So, I brought in for framing my late mother’s wedding portrait from 1953 and the high school graduation photo of my spouse’s next-oldest brother, who was killed by a drunk driver soon after the photo was taken in 1977. In other words, emotionally critical photos. Mary, the owner, thoughtfully guided me through frame and matte choices and expertly helped me decide on updated choices that would both showcase the photos in a modern way, but which would not result in the loss of any of the historical presentation.
