Catonsville Custom Framing & Fine Art was beyond excellent. I had a rather large (30x40) piece of art in a professionally done shadow box frame in which the glass had became broken. The original large chain professional framer could not price it exactly because their estimator wasn't there, but gave me a ROM of several hundred dollars and told me to come back. One of the big box craft stores refused to repair it and would only quote a completely new framing. A second big box craft store framing expert carefully examined the frame and said they could do it. Two weeks later when it as supposed to be completed they called, said now it could not be done and to come and pick it up. When I did, it was dismantled into numerous pieces and left in bags! This was no problem Catonsville Custom Framing & Fine Art. Without hesitation, they were able to replace the glass and reassemble it all back together beautifully. They even included a new wall hanger. Best of all, this was all done at half the cost of the big box store and in one day! They were also very friendly. Forget the big box stores with their weekly half off framing coupons and go to this local merchant.

Everything was exactly as specified. They ordered special glass and the piece looks beautiful.

It was the first time I had used them, and I couldn't be happier. The price was fabulous (as good as places like Michaels), the selection great (way, way better than Michaels!), and the turnaround time short. I will definitely use them again.

I had a large Tibeten/Nepali Thankga made for me in Nepal some years ago, and finally got it framed. Was really pleased with Mary and Steve's advice and service. I thought selecting the frame was going to be difficult, but not at all with their help and guidance. The work was done in the time frame they estimated, and it looks wonderful!

It turned out awesome!! I have it on display in my bar. This jacket was worn by my brother when he lost his life in a motorcycle accident. Everybody who has seen it is amazed how good it looks. Steve who works at the shop really helped me decide on matte, frame, and colors. This framed jacket really means a lot to me and my family. It is a real tribute to my brother. Mary and her staff are great to work with and the final product shows all of their detail to perfection. You will not be disappointed with their work. I highly recommend them.

Absolutely amazing job. Mary and Steve were the best. They provided consultation and communication every step of the way. Their personalized approach made this project so much easier. And they were very very accommodating. There isn't anything they can't do and won't do to make their customers happy. Their prices are reasonable and paled in comparison to the the value I received. I will use them for all of my framing needs in the future. They can handle any size job.

The photograph was 36 years old and damaged from water and mold. The restoration is beautiful and looks better than the original photo.

I've been dealing with Catonsville Custom Framing and Fine Art for 10 - 15 years. Over the years I have purchased a number of prints and paintings and have had well over a dozen pictures of all sizes framed. They are very helpful when selecting frames, matts, and glass. They have an extensive frame and matt selection. I have always been extremely satisfied with all work performed. Just dropped another original sketch off to be framed.

They were very patient and professional. Even gave me change for the parking meter. Extremely nice people. Worth the price.

I have had excellent customer service with this niche small business. The owner and her team are extremely professional, very helpful, and really go the extra mile. There is a huge selection of frames, and mats. The staff helps with exceptional suggestions to select the best fit for whatever needs framing. This is my second visit and I will continue to have all my framing done at Catonsville Custom Framing. I also had to bring one photo framing job back because of a slight ripple in the photo (not the shop's fault!), & any rework is accepted with ease, no questions asked. I like that! Well worth the price.

Mary is extremely professional. She took a time with us to understand our preferences, and helped us make choices that beautifully suited both the style of each piece of art and our historic townhouse. In addition, we were preparing for house guests, so she adjusted the delivery schedule to meet our deadline. Her staff were equally friendly and helpful. We highly recommend her services.

I had recently returned from Guatemala with a piece of indigenous needle work that I wanted framed. I was a walk-in customer, and they spent at least 45 minutes with me picking out mats and frames that would best complement the artwork and the decor of my home. Since the embroidery ran into the raw edges, he also framed it in a way that actually makes the edges part of the charm of the piece. Be aware that it takes 6-8 weeks for the work to be finished, and they are on the expensive side, but the quality and personal service is well worth it. I would definitely use them again, especially since I like to support local businesses, and would definitely recommend them. If you want cheap, fast and impersonal, go to one of the big box craft stores.

I brought in 10 pieces of art ranging in size from about 8x10" to 2x3'. Steve worked with me and my tastes to help select frames and mats that would make the most of my pieces of art. Everything was just suggestions and options; I never felt overwhelmed or pushed into anything. He spent probably an hour and a half just helping me out with this process. There was no rush. Steve is a trained artist and really had a great eye in terms of his suggestions. Plus the shop has a great selection of frames so there was no lack of options. I got all 10 pieces back in about a month, and I couldn't be happier with how they look. Plus I used a coupon of theirs from Angie's List so I got the most reasonable prices I've seen in the area for this high quality of work. I am already planning to take more pieces back to them. I can't recommend the company and everyone there highly enough.

They were extrememly helpful in matching frames and mats to other works I was trying to replicate. I needed it done for Christmas and they came through with the finished job on 12/21 as promised with time to spare. Very professional staff. Very helpful. Work was excellent. Would recommend to anyone in this area.

The provider--the proprietor of the shop--provides very good service. We have taken other items to this shop for framing and have been pleased with the results. Ms. Begleiter takes the time to select mats that compliment and enhance the artwork and is very patient working through the various combinations of mats and frames. She is extremely good at this and we have been consistently pleased with the results. Perhaps the cost per piece (averaging $186) is reasonable, but it seemed high to me. My only other quibble is that she told us the pieces would be ready in three weeks and it turned out to be four weeks. When I mentioned this while picking up the pieces, her comment, "Well I hope you weren't too inconvenienced," could easily have been interpreted as sarcastic. The point isn't that I was inconvenienced, it's that I expected the work within the time frame she stated. If the date couldn't be met, a simple phone call notifying me would have been appreciated.

nsvilleWe had a professional photographer take black and white photos early this year. We selected 5 for framing. The framing place we have gone to for years recently closed and so I went on Angie's list and found this person in Catonsville. We had no appointment, but went to see them at the end of April. The person took alot of time helping us to decide what mats and frames we wanted.They were very knowledgeable and professional, describing the pros and cons of several options. We did not feel rushed at all. After we has made our selections, we were told it would be about 4 weeks for completion. This past Saturday we went to pick up the framed photos and we were thrilled with them.We would definitely use them again and would recommend them highly.
