The owner Robert Pence answers the phone, dos the estimate and answers all questions. Does not oversell. Got the job done quickly and professionally. Contacted other companies and they sent salesmen who don't follow up or answer questions. Highly recommend Robert. You deal with Robert Pence the owner the whole way.

We thought we needed a full roof replacement and were interviewing contractors. Mr. Pence came out very promptly and took a look at our roof and advised us that this wasn't necessary and that a limited repair was all that was needed. He even said that we'd be better off with another roofing company for that kind of work, saving us many thousands. I really appreciate his time, honesty and professionalism, which will put his company at the top of our list next time we need this kind of work.

It went well. He was expensive, but knew what he was doing

Our garage siding trim sustained wind damage and several siding slats went to Kansas last week. Upon contact, Robert came out within 15 mins. with what seemed to be a fair estimate and provided a two-day delivery of installation. We could not have been more pleased with the entire process.He looked at garage and pointed out that prior work had been done and recommended complete replacement of rake board covers so that all siding pieces matched in one color. They came out today and entire job was completed within a few hours. The result: Beautiful! Would we use Robert Pence Remodeling again? We definitely plan to do just that and would recommend this company again to anyone who wants quality work done at a reasonable cost. A very good customer experience!

I must say a few words about what a pleasure it was to work with this contractor. We first contacted him more than a year before the job, when we were looking for options to wrap our house trim, which was being attacked by carpenter bees. He presented, at our request, a quote for siding the entire house, which we found surprisingly reasonable relative to quotes we had been receiving for the trim alone. However, we dithered and then some personal circumstances intervened that kept us from proceeding. A year later we got back in touch with him by e-mail, asking about the status of the previous bid. Practically instantly he got back to us, told us that the quote was still good, and offered to come out the same afternoon to show us some samples. (This was on a Saturday.) He prepared a new estimate document for us, walked us through the options, and adjusted the estimate on the spot for some additional work that we had since decided we also wanted done. One thing I would stress in particular is the professionalism of the presentation: the estimate forms were logically laid out according to the job categories and materials and easily understandable. This provided high confidence that he had done this kind of job many times before -- and contrasted with a variety of presentations we'd seen from other, apparently reputable contractors, which ranged from ad hoc Excel spreadsheets to (in one case) a cellphone photograph of the contractor's handwritten notes! So Robert Pence's presentation at the point of sale was, by comparison, refreshing and impressive. Once the contract was inked, things swung into gear quickly, with materials delivered the following Wednesday, and with work on the first non-rainy day thereafter. The work proceeded efficiently, and Robert Pence showed up several times on the job site to review the progress of the work and make midcourse corrections. I was extremely impressed by how neat the crew kept the job site while they were working; at the end of each day, all material was neatly stacked put away and the house exterior made as orderly as it could be, which was good for both us and our neighbors. The job took three days, and the crew worked during the entire weekend to get it done quickly and on time. We have been extremely pleased with the result; even months later, we get significant satisfaction from the improvement in the house's look. We feel that the road was as smooth as it could reasonably be expected to be, and also have confidence that if there were problems, Robert Pence would work to resolve them. So I would definitely say that it went well, and would recommend this firm without hesitation for this kind of job.

Mr. Pence came out and did the estimate for a new roof and saw that a big storm was coming in the next couple days, prior to his work being started. He did everything he could to "shore us up" so we could avoid leaks before the impending storm. It worked. His work was professional, and of th highest quality. Grade A company.

Based on an excellent experience with this firm on a garage roofing job, we received an estimate from Robert Pence and agreed to a contract, scheduling the job. Before the scheduled date, my husband was hospitalized and I could not be at home when the job was scheduled. After speaking to Robert Pence, he arranged to do the job in my absence. The job was completed perfectly and all waste materials were removed. He left me notes about the job, as well as warranty information. The hospitalization made this a difficult time for us. Robert Pence made it so much easier. I would nominate him for sainthood if I could.

Great! I met Robert Pence more than 2 years ago. He came to look at my roof for replacement and said it was not ready, yet! Good news, then. Because of his honesty, when it became time to do the replacement, I called him first. I also got prices from 3 other companies. His price was competitive and his ideas for ventilation made good sense, so we hired him. With rain forecast for the following day, they arrived when they said and his crew of 6-7 men removed and replaced 3/4 roof of on my house in the one day, leaving only a porch roof for completion. They worked non-stop except for a short lunch break! Everything was completed, cleaned-up and water tight before they left. After a day of rain, they returned and finished the back porch roof, put on the gutter covers, calked and cleaned-up. The entire project was handled very professionally. Robert patiently answered my questions and addressed a couple of concerns I had. His crew was careful of the landscaping which was very important to me! Very good experience. Thanks, Robert

I have a leak in the roof and found this company thru Angie's list. The person who answered the phone said they do not do roof repairs and wished me luck. I'm confused because there are several reviews on their roof job.

He is terrific. He is the best! It was expensive but he did a fantastic job. He was not quite cheaper than a lot of people, but he was great. He just came right out and he fixed it. It was a great service. We decided to go with him because we looked on the web and he was close and he seemed to get good reviews.

We scheduled an appointment for a roof replacement estimate. Robert canceled the appointment and said he would call us when he got back from a trip in two weeks. He never called.

The form was quick to provice an estimate, and their estmate was the most reasonable of the three we requested. The work was performed very well, and in a very timely manner. They pointed out additional structural faults that needed repairing at the time of the estimate, and still came in under the other two firms.

Mr. Pence did what he said he would do, when he said he would do it. Had one day rain delay, but expected considering the weather at the time. Mr. Pence called to inform me anyway. Next day, the crew showed up and completed the job before I got home from work. Yard was clean of debris. Wasn't flexible on negotiating price, but it was a fair quote. Only quote that I received (of 3) that included the heavier 30-lb roofing paper in the price, indicating to me a commitment to quality work, and not to being the lowest price. Satisfied with the workmanship, and the look of the new roof.

Recommended to me by my neighbor, was glad to find them listed on Angie's. Mr. Pence came out to give the estimate (very fair price),. He was very knowledgeable. His crew worked very hard and cleaned up thoroughly afterward. My roof might have been original to the house 45yrs ago. Some spots had two layers of shingles, and it had sagging spots between the rafters. So, I had a modern roof put in with a ridge line, replaced about 90% of the plywood underneath everything, ice dams, and Mr. Pence added an edging trim to keep the shingles from curling on the sides. And he had somebody, that same day, replace a falling gutter that was attched to a rotting fascia board. The roof has looked and performed beautifully for the last year now through a rough winter and some monsoon type rain storms. I would recommend his company to anyone.

Robert was a consummate professional from beginning to end. Hi crew installed new vinyl siding over our old asbestos siding, and tore down an old screened in porch in the process in order to do a seamless job. My neighbors say it looks like a new house. We used Robert previously to replace our roof, and would use him again in a heartbeat for other projects. Great work!

They were there when they said they would be, did what they said they would do, and the place was left in a clean condition. The workmanship was very professional.

I contacted Bob on Monday, he came out on Tuesday and gave an estimate, and by Friday afternoon the new larger gutters, downspouts and gutterguards were up! Just in time for the rain to roll in that night. They were professional and helpful. These guys are awesome and I will use them again. I would recommend them whole heartedly.

Bob was pleasant, took the time to explain items when I had questions, but was not trying to hard sell his bid. He was able to stop by and look at the roof without me being there, which was a positive given my busy schedule. All work was excellent and everything straightforward. Everything was done in less than a day, and site was cleaned up. No money was taken upfront, and Bob stopped by to pick up the check the next day, and give me the warranty for the work.

He told us the roof was i. Good shape, and we didn't need a new one for another 5-7 years. He said, "I'd love to sell you a roof, but honestly, you don't need it." He told us to call back in 7 years. Really, really appreciate an honest businessman. He'll definitely get a call the time comes.

I would highly recommend him and have used him in the past to put on our initial roof in December 2006.

My new roof was a requirement to get a mortgage on a house I was purchasing as a short sale. The process of getting the bank to approve and pay each contractor was very long with lots of paperwork and delays. Many of the other contractors refused to deal with the hassle. Robert Pence did every thing that was asked of him in a very timely and professional manner. Once it came time to do the actual roof his crew showed up on time, completed the work, and cleaned up in about a day and a half. Mr. Pence was there multiple times to check on the work and took care of any unexpected issues quickly.
