Everything went fine. They were timely and got the job done sufficiently

Jim was great. He hauled away at least 30 large bags of yard waste (leaves, branches, weeds, etc.) in less than an hour. Jim initially estimated that he'd be able to fit everything inside one truck load -- and that turned out not to be the case, but he came back the following day to pick up the extra waste at no charge. We plan to hire him again.

They were prompt, friendly, and quick. Did all work as described. I was somewhat skeptical as they would not give any sort of quote over the phone, which I generally see as being a minor "red flag" but the in person quote that I received was fair and accurate for the work performed.

Jim of J&L Hauling was delayed through a miscommunication, but made a point of getting right to work when he arrived. We ended up negotiating to my satisfaction for a bigger load but they were items that County pick-up would never have accepted. He was thorough, pleasant, and efficient.

Friendly, courteous and very responsive. I would highly recommend them again.

It did not turn out as we expected. We needed to get rid of a hot tub and a lot of other junk. Once the guy showed up he told me I had to pay an additional for the service and it would have been a special job for the hot tub. He was very selective on what he could and could not take. I ended up just having him just haul away a grill. Once he left, I had a bitter taste in my mouth and I was not happy with the deal.

The recliner was successfully moved to the basement. The sofa could not be moved due to the limitations of our house (not the mover's fault) so it was moved to the garage. Overall, the service was excellent in that my wife and I could have never moved this furniture ourselves and JL Hauling was prompt and professional in helping us get it moved.

Jim and his assistant were great. They showed up on time (a half hour window), in 16 degree weather, were very efficient hauling the stuff away, and probably took more than the deal called for ("I want all your hauling business!"). I will definitely call on them again the next time I need stuff hauled.

When they came, they estimated the work would take 4 hours. We agreed to the $350. They then pulled the truck up on the lawn/including our neighbors without permission. The two men hauled the material in considerably less than 2 hours and were extremely rude to my husband when he suggested they should provide services for the additional hours by taking away more leaves/branches that remained in the yard, but had not been piled up neatly for them. I could hear their foul/disrespectful language from inside the house. I would never recommend this firm to anyone.

They removed a couple of big item that I wanted to get rid of. They were very efficient. I was surprised to be charged an additional $25 because "the items were not out on the street". I think the "deal" said that they would collect the items from anywhere in the house.

They were great! I called early on a Sunday morning and they were able to come out and get the job done in the limited time frame I had to work with. They do a first class job! I will use them for all my hauling and clean out needs.

I did all of the the communication through the message center on Angie's List. They were really wonderful. They were nice to deal with and they cleaned up after themselves. They were a good company to work with overall. The Big Deal was for $99, but the final cost was $200. The deal was for only half a truck and they hauled away a full truck.

I bought a "Deal" for $111 for a half truck load of hauling services. Two days later, I called to schedule an appointment. I explained that I had some wood in my back yard that needed to be removed. The wife, Betty, said they were going on vacation but made an appointment for the following Saturday at 9 am. On Friday, she called to reschedule to 11 am because of a "scheduling conflict". On Saturday at 11:20am, Jim called and said he was running late and would be at my house around 12 or 12:30. He arrived and looked at my yard. He then tried to tell me that there was going to be a lot of "labor" involved and complained about the dumping fees. That morning, I had moved about a third of the material into a pile for easy loading- it took me 15 minutes and I'm a petite woman and not a championship weight lifter! I'm not sure what he meant by "labor" (isn't that the point) or why he was complaining to be about dumping fees (isn't dumping part of hauling trash?). Basically, he was trying to get me to pay him more money. He indicated that the amount of materials would be more than what was covered by the "Deal". I told him I understood that he would not be able to take everything but that I just wanted him to honor the voucher- to take a half load worth of material for the amount I had already paid. He seemed angry that I didn't want to pay him more. He left without performing any of the work, and was very rude. In short, I feel like he was trying to extort additional money and when I didn't fall for it, he got mad and left.

I purchased the $99 deal for a half bed of hauling. I knew this wasn't going to be enough but I had no idea how much was required. The owner of the company showed up on time and told me it would take 2 full loads on his truck. He gave me a $50 discount on the service which is always welcome! He and his co-worker got everything out in a timely manner and minimum mess. I would definitely recommend this company and will use them again in the future.

This was a joke. He came to the house and immediately up the price from the 99.00. He wanted 900.00 to remove a small amount of items. What a disappointment, this provider needs to be investigated by Angie list and immediately remove. I would also like to request a refund.

I spoke with Betty who was very friendly and helpful. She scheduled the appointment for the next day (Saturday), and Jim and Howard arrived as promised in the morning. They were very professional and agreeable and managed to fit all of our junk in their truck . We had some very long pieces of siding that they cut with a saw to make fit, and also accepted a last minute container that I had forgotten to put in the pile. Overall it was a very good experience and we would definitely hire them again!

Jim was very responsive and did a good job, however is professionalism needs a lot of work. As others have stated he is extremely pushy... He arrived, i showed him two jobs, fence removal and junk hauling, he provided me the cost and I advised I would let him know. His response was I drove along way so I would like to get something started today, meaning he wanted to do the hauling today since he wasn't equipped to do the fence that day. If a company advertises free quotes then he should have said, I look forward to hearing from you and left. A company should not try to make you feel guilty for their drive time. That should be incorporated in your price and you can always 1. Add mileage or 2. Advise you do not service the area. Also, since I had previously read comments about the Angie's coupon, I simply wrote a check minus the 10% and handed him the coupon with my check. At that point he could not argue. Angie's list should remove the coupon if the company consistently does not allowed it to be used. I will not use him again.

It said coupon was valid for a half load. He arrived and handed me the card from the company but said he was not from them. He said he did not know how the deal for $99 worked but said he could take it for $325. He said he would not honor the coupon and take a half truck load. I said I wanted my $99 . He said he could not do that because the company had the money, not him.

This is the third time I have called Jim to have items hauled away. He is always very punctual and professional.

He was outstanding. There's nothing we don't like about him. He knew we need it done quickly so he was there that afternoon. He was extremely clean and even cleaned up a trash that he didn't have to. He was professional and I never thought he could do all of that in the time that he did. Everybody was professional, courteous, clean, good price. They were efficient and quick. They came immediately to do the work. He knew that we have new tenants and we need to have it done quickly because they are getting disturbed. So it was our problem but he helped us solve it.

My son had demo'd a small shed in our backyard. It was 4' x 5' x 6'. I had hoped we could cut the pieces into very small pieces and discard them large contractor bags. Unfortunately, due to the number of nails and shards this was not possible for us. I looked on Angie's List and found JL Hauling on 8/16/13. I was able to schedule the service visit for next day, Saturday, 8/17/2013. As scheduled Jim Luckhurst showed up at the time discussed the day before. I showed him the piles in my backyard. We discussed price. He explained his process and detailed what his price encompassed (i.e., having to go to a dump which would accept a commercial haulers goods [the dump closest to me would not allow him to dump there], being charged by the ton etc.) I asked about a military discount and received one. (Jim is a veteran himself.) Although, I did not anticipate the cost of the job being as high as it was, given that this was my first time using a commercial vendor, but it was well worth the price paid. (Normally, I would put the pieces in my SUV and make multiple trips to the dump. I don't have the SUV anymore.) I also asked if Jim could take this heavy hammock to the dump. I did not mention it during my phone call prior. Jim said yes and they cut it up and took it. Jim and Howard thoroughly removed all the debris, stacked a small pile of cinder blocks and even swept a small pile of little bitty pieces which I anticipated I would have to remove. By the time they were done the only reminder of the shed was its imprint in the dirt. They moved quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend JL Hauling to others and use the service again if needed. (Jim also gave some much appreciated information about some poison ivy in my yard, which I was unaware of. I did not know it was poison ivy. Jim told me how to get rid of it. Yuck!)

Mike Ryan came out to give us an estimate on some tree removals that we were interested in. During the course of conversation, it became apparent that he had a vested interest in preserving trees and was very knowledgeable and honest in his assessment. When his crew came to do the work, they were punctual and professional and when they left they cleaned up so well we could hardly tell they were there. The trees and yard look beautiful and we were very happy with their service! We would definitely recommend them!

This was the second time I used Jim. I will continue to use him.
