Evergreen Fence & Deck

I would say that u would give then an A. They did a beautiful job on the gates. They seem to be working. I haven't had anybody break them yet. I don't know, I have no idea or comparison point. I guess it was a fair price. I didn't get estimates from anyone else. So i really don't know.The gates are beautiful. They are nice and cedar. I like the way they look so I would give them an a on that.

The whole job went smoothly from beginning to end. While doing the work outlined in our agreement, the contractor, Steve Hash, noticed a few of the sections in the middle of the existing fence (installed by another contractor) were not in alignment with the two ends of the fence. He removed those posts and relocated them to make a perfectly straight fence line. And he did this at no extra charge, saying that because he had worked on part of the fence, he wanted to ensure the whole fence looked great just in case someone asked who did the job. That told me he takes extra pride in his work. In addition, Mr. Hash noticed a few other posts that were in the early stages of rotting and recommended they be replaced. I very much appreciated this; I wouldn't want other collapsed sections after the next wind storm that blows through. Mr. Hash was very pleasant, on time, polite, highly skilled, and professional. He cleaned up the worksite and hauled away every old and rotted piece of wood. He did an excellent job! I know he also works on decks. I plan to contact Mr. Hash this summer to get an estimate on building a new deck at my home. I would welcome the opportunity to work with him again.

Scheduled appointment. 10 minutes after scheduled arrival time, received abrupt call that estimator had cancelled my appointment. Was told I would get a follow-up call that evening. Never received any further call.

Excellent Extremely happy with quality of work. We were having dinner at a restaurant in Columbia ,Md and began conversing with Steve Hash. In the conversation we shared our line of work and discovered that Steve did work with Evergreen. We scheduled an appointment with him for an estimate. Because of his detail and integrity , we hired him and within the week our deck and gutters were sparkling clean. A company well represented with quality of work

We hired Mark's company about 4 years ago to build a deck for our townhouse. That decision was based on the AL reviews we read. We were very pleased in all aspects of the build and the price. We have since moved, and when we needed a new fence, we didn't hesitate to call Mark, whose company continued to have great reviews. We also got a few other bids, and all were within about $200 of each other. Mark's was the lowest, but our decision to go with him was based on our previous experience with the deck. Cesar and the crew did a great job, to include the clean-up. We would definitely hire again.

Mark was extremely professional and great to work with. We decided to go a different route with our project but their quote was extremely competitive and work samples were very high quality. I will definitely consider them in the future!

It went fine. I was told of exactly when they would work and what would be done. Communication slowed towards the end of the project. Some new deck planks needed to be put in. They were not painted yet (they had to weather). About 9% of the total payment was withheld till they painted the planks. Time went on. Since I had the paint can in the garage, I decided to paint it myself after about 8 weeks and if they called, tell them I did it myself. I saved 9%. Otherwise, the work was done very well, professional standards.

Great! Excellent workmanship and very good to work with. I recommend them. They carefully thought through the details of the size, design, doors, steps, alteration of the gutter, sky-lights, etc. They managed all the permits. And the workers were highly skilled and professional, taking pride in their work.

Mark the owner led us through from beginning to end, checked in on site and was always responsive. The crew worked hard and completed the project when they said they would. The deck and fence look beautiful and we will be hiring them again to paint and, when we are ready, to build our porch.

From first contact until job completion, everything was top-notch professional--and quite friendly. We had about 5 estimates/quotes for the same job, and Evergreen met our target for price, style, and quality. Although the other bids were from larger, better-known providers, I contacted Evergreen based only on a drive-by view of a recently installed fence nearby. The installation crew was very skilled, efficient, and friendly. They addressed the few adjustments we requested without question or hesitation. And they even provided fence post caps on an adjoining fence segment (that was not on the contract) to ensure a harmonious overall appearance on the property. Finally, we were able to pay for the project with our credit card, reaping rewards on our account. You will be pleased to include Evergreen in your fence estimates--and, if our results are a good indication of general quality, to hire them for your project.

Evergreen removed the old fence and put in a very nice new one with wire mesh. They did it exactly on the days they said, and the price was fair. I am very happy with their work and heartily recommend them.

Everything went as planned Accept for one rain day delay.

Evergreen and it's contractors were incredible. Prompt, efficient and true to their word, they did an amazing job.

The job was completed in a timely fashion and they made sure to keep the job area clean.

We had a very good experience with Evergreen for resurfacing our deck. We had our deck done just a couple of years ago but that company did not do it properly and it was peeling and mildewing within just a couple of years. We were very frustrated and wanted it done correctly this year. Steve from Evergreen came out and took his time looking at our deck and understanding our situation. He wrote up a detailed quote and was flexible when we requested some changes to the scope of work. Once they started the work, they worked every day the weather cooperated very diligently. The end result was very high quality. Our deck looks great. Steve kept in close communications by phone and text throughout the project and was very responsive to questions. He even repaired a fence we had in the front of our house that was leaning for free, which we really appreciated. Overall, very positive experience and we plan to use them again in the near future to paint some fencing.

After discussing my options with him, I decided not to have the work done at this time. He clearly has a lot of experience maintaining decks and I really appreciate his honesty and the information he gave me. I will call Evergreen when I am ready to have this work done in about two years.

They came back and completely reset the gate posts, recemented them and made sure the alignment was correct at no charge. This is an awesome company to work with! I have recommended them to many people and many of my neighbors have used them as well. All were pleased with the outcome and the service.

Had great design ideas and suggested the decking material which has proved excellent. The deck is double strong. Thet were punctual and professional;

We obtained three estimates for this fence installation. Mark, the owner of Evergreen, was great initially. He was professional when he came to do the estimate and was responsive. After getting all three estimates we asked Mark if he would match the lowest since we wanted to give his smaller company the business. He agreed to do so. Unfortunately, after this our experience went downhill very, very fast. Mark sent two installers who clearly were not qualified to do the job. They were also extremely uncommunicative. They started the job on a Saturday and did come to the door at the end of that day to say that they would come back at some point during that week to continue. After that they NEVER spoke to us, let us know when they were coming, or gave us any information about where they were with the project. When the fence was completely "installed," we did not hear from anyone about whether or not they were finished. They left our yard as what can only be described as a disaster. We attempted to contact Mark by phone and by email and it was several days before we heard from him. In the meantime, I had to spend several hours in my yard cleaning up debris, including small chunks of metal they had cut from the fencing that I was worried could be dangerous to my dogs for whom the fence was being installed. In addition, the lawn around the holes was completely torn up. They did not place the dirt on tarps as we would have expected. Some holes were filled back in and some were not. One of the gates was also installed inproperly. There was a huge gap under it that one of our dogs could easily go under. Some of the fence panels were higher than others. They left mud and muddy footprints all over our patio and driveway. When we finally heard back from Mark several days later he said he had been out of town. At that time he did not apologize appropriately for leaving everything in such a terrible state. We had no idea if they thought they were done or not but Mark didn't seem to think that he should have called us to communicate where they were with the project. Based on our complaints Mark sent the installers back out to clean up a bit, but there were still several things wrong with the fence. He finally sent Ron out, who actually knew that what he was doing. He leveled the fence and fixed the gate. He was great to deal with and was communicative. Upon further inspection, we realized that the original installers did not put cement in some of the holes. Without coming to look Mark said that was not the case. However, he did send Ron back out who confirmed that they had not put cement in a few of the holes and Ron fixed that problem as well. This project, which should have been a very simple fence installation, ended up causing us hours of stress, not to mention hours of trying to get them to provide what we paid for. At the end Mark offered us a very small discount to reimburse my hours of having to clean my yard. However, it felt terrible through the whole process to feel like we had to work so hard to get him to give us what we paid for.

THE OWNER AND HIS CREW ARE AWESOME! Hire them! On time! Careful to ask before busting things up. Access to the yard was blocked and they ended up using a neighbors entrance to access my yard. Worked very much on task the entire day. Cleaned up very well after themselves. Excellent worksmanship. WISH I HAD ANOTHER FENCE FOR THEM TO DO!!!

They did an excellent job and were very reliable. We needed them to come back this fall to enlarge the gate to the back yard and they did so promptly and did a very good job.

The company responded promptly to our request for an estimate. They performed the work quickly and professionally. We would definitely hire them again for similar projects.

The hardest part of the project was getting approval from my HOA. Each step was discussed and the initial plan was followed. Removing the old deck took about two hours and the paver patio took one full day and part of another just as promised. I'm very happy with the final product. I've attached pictures that document the process from beginning to end.

First of all, I LOVE the patio. It is just what I wanted and it is beautiful. Which is why I feel badly about the poor rating I gave. The only reason I am giving a poor rating is the incredible lack of management skills of the project coordinator, Tim Ulman. I originally had a bad experience with Long Fence - they put in a horrible deck that was not what I wanted. I took the loss and had Evergreen come and see what they could do for a patio. Evergreen contracts out the patios - so this review is not really for Evergreen - every dealing I had with Evergreen has been positive. They were the ones who removed my deck and I would recommend them for fences and decks. Also, the crew who installed the patio were wonderful. The problem was Tim - I started the process for the patio in mid-July and the project was not completed until mid September on a job that I was told would take less than a week. Plus he kept trying to make me feel guilty by saying he gave a great deal since Long Fence had treated me badly. Yes, thank you but you are still making money and I had to repeatedly listen to him remind me that he was doing me a favor. Enough already. The worst of it was that he would give me a start date and then I wouldn't hear from him for a week or more. Then I would have to contact him and then something would happen. He did take some time to ensure I got what I wanted by either meeting at the quarry or bringing samples so I could see. But it was the same old routine - no response unless I sent an e-mail or made a call. It was very annoying and frustrating. The whole project took way too long and I was tired of hearing the sorry excuse that they were "crazy busy". Setting a date and meeting that date would have been just fine. Also, at the end of the project, I asked about sealing the patio as there are trees that drop leaves and pine needles onto the patio. I asked for the name and contact info for the person they use. I had to repeatedly ask and I didn't get the info until a month later when it was too late to have the work done this year. Overall, I LOVE the patio but the experience to get it was terrible so I am conflicted to reccommend. But if they improve the cusotmer service then I would recommend them without question.
