After the estimate, the work was scheduled and the workman came. He called in the morning to say he would be about an hour late. He arrived at his new time. This was not a problem for me. He explained the work and proceeded. He worked and completed the work that afternoon and came back the next afternoon to install the fixtures and caulk. The workman let me know when there would be noise and was very good about answering questions. The tub needed the 24 hours to dry before the fixtures were reinstalled and it was another 24 hours to use the shower. It looks great. There is a strong smell during the process and for a couple days. So it was nice to be able to keep windows open. They also exhaust during the process with a duct out of a window. The price was the same as estimated. The estimator told me to use gentle cleansers and make sure to rinse off cleaning agents or color can be compromised especially if using stronger cleaners. They also gave me printed cleaning instructions after the work was done. It told me to use foaming cleaners and soft/medium brush to clean texture mat.

We have a older home (1940s) and had our tub reglazed about 12 years ago. It started to chip within 2 years. A client of mine had a so-so experience with another company, so I was feeling pretty cynical about the whole industry. Then another client who is really picky hired them to do 2 tubs and tile walls and raved about them, so I figured I would try them out. LJ came out to do an estimate and did a great job at explaining the whole process. I was impressed that they give a 5-yr warranty, which the other 2 companies certainly didn't. The price was very reasonable, and they were able to do it the following week. The technician was right on time, and did a great job. They take out the fixtures in the tub, and put new ones back the next day once the glaze dries (24 hrs). They were a bit late coming the next day to reinstall those fixtures, but they had gotten stuck on a job that went longer than expected. All in all, a very good experience. Ramona at the office is great - she's very personable, explains things well, and is responsive. She called back the next day to make sure I was happy.

It went very well from start to end. The estimator had given me pretty good instructions to prepare the bathroom for the process and so the technician could begin right away. There were no gliches.

They have good ratings on Angie?s List. They were on time. It seemed like it would be a pretty straightforward process. I am considering using them for the job.

They have just finished the work. They came back out today because of a chip that I had put in there. The person who handles all the information, Ramona, is awesome. She is very good at communicating which is nice. Hector was the person who came out to do the work. He was on time and very nice. He did an excellent job. He first came out to refinish the tub and then came out the next day to install the fixtures when it was dry. He kept everything really neat. It looks like a brand new tub now. In fact my plumber thought that I had replaced the tub. They were fairly priced too. They were just great. I would definitely recommend them to others.

Techinician was very polite, relatively prompt, and did an amazing job. He was informative and helpful. They included a non-skid application for free. The tech had tiles treated with the 3 grits of non-skid so I had an idea of what it would feel like. I expressed my concern that it would be too harsh for the toddler's bottom. He said that he could use the finest texture and apply it in a thinner manner so it would still be non-skid but not harsh. It was PERFECT! After the bathtub was done we had a handyman replace the blue toilet. He scratched the surface of our new tub by dropping part of the old toilet on it. I called on a Thursday or Friday and asked if they could patch this very small (fingernail sized) dent. They were extremely polite, and said they could be out on Monday and would do it for no charge. The same friendly tech arrived, fixed it in about 15 minutes, and as stated - no charge. The $540 is a bit pricey, but I requested the new overlfow and drain so that the tub will look better overall and I'm very glad I did. They were not the cheapest game in town, but I believe they are the best. I will definitely use them again, if needed, and will recommend them to friends. Highly satisfied customer! They did a marvelous job - the tub now looks brand new, and is even brighter white than the new tile around it. The tech, Vinny, arrived right on time and finished in 3 hours, as promised. He put down drop cloths before he started, and cleaned up afterwards.

I originally called to have the bathtub in the master bathroom reglazed to repair marks left on the tub after removal of a sliding shower door and to repair a rust stain around the overflow cover. The job turned out to be complicated by a longstanding rust problem on the exterior of the tub which had evidently been building for a decade or more. Repairing this rust out required more time than was originally estimated and increased the estimated cost by $275. I was very impressed by the punctuality of the technician, the brand new appearance of the tub, the pleasant nature of the technician, and his very thorough explanation of the problem and its implications. It turned out to be a much more complicated and time consuming job than originally planned but the technician was able adjust easily to the situation and complete the work that same day rather than rescheduling which I very much appreciated.

OMG !!! First off, let me start by saying that this company?s website is awesome. It provides a wealth of information for anyone thinking about having their tub/tile reglazed; in it I found a whole lot of information that other companies (even on Angies list) had not told me about. I highly recommend you visit their site (www.porcelaintubs.com). I scheduled the appointment and LJ came by right on time to take a look at my project. The home was built in the 1930s, still has the original tub and tiles (white tiles with black trim) and the bathroom has a window-(which caused some stubborn mold around the window area that never seemed to go away. LJ was extremely knowledgeable, he explained that the reason I had mold problems around the window was because it had been caulked around but not properly grouted and that the reglazing process would take care of that. He also explained that the reglazer would need to strip all that caulking out, treat it and then regrout ? but that my problem could be fixed. Boy- was he right about that !!! LJ also went into detail about the drain and overflow and why it was best to replace it and asked if there was an access panel for the plumbing. All in all, he spent about 90 minutes in my house going over the details of the work, answering all my questions and giving me a written estimate. I appreciated the fact that he let me know that if I wanted to get the fixtures changed, tile on floor etc done I?d need to do that prior to the reglazing. LJ is extremely knowledgeable about the entire process and made me feel confident that this company knew how to do the job and would do it well. He listened attentively to my concerns and addressed all of them, plus he gave me an invaluable education on the process, what to expect etc. As soon as the tile on my floor was done (another Angie?s choice), I called Porcelain Tub to schedule my reglazing and spoke to Ramona. We were good friends by now as I?d spoken to her on numerous occasions regarding the scheduling of my estimate/work , questions on payment, the smell of the chemicals use etc. She?s very polite and comprehensive of the concerns I had and answered them with ease. My work was scheduled for Thursday and then Friday they were to return back to reinstall the fixtures, drain and overflow. Early on Thursday morning , Vinny arrived to prep my tub/tiles. Upon inspection he immediately noticed that it was a 2-day job just to do the prep work ? which is essential if your finished product is going to look great. He immediately called the company to notify them about this and got to work. Vinny was at the house working from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm. Even at this point (when the tiles had only been prepped and grouted but not sprayed) you could see a significant improvement in them. It already looked like a new bathroom. Tiles were all white and shiny with sparkling new white grout. Honestly, I couldn?t believe how awesome it looked- better that I ever thought possible. Vinny is a dedicated employee who certainly takes pride in his work. He left at 8:30 pm ? because we asked him to do so - since we knew he must?ve been exhausted. During this day he replaced a couple of missing tiles, repaired chips, cracks and fixed a broken soap dish and overall worked miracles on our bathroom that day. Due to the fact that the job took longer than originally planned, he agreed to be back at the house early Friday morning (7:00 am) to finish prepping and spraying the tub/tiles with white glaze. On Friday he carefully covered up the window, mirror and all other items in the bathroom and then he proceeded to spray. He finished around 11:00 am. The smell once they glaze (which is one of the things I was concerned about) isn?t bad at all, since Vinny took care to leave a fan on and opened up the house windows so the air would circulate. Once Vinny left, he told me to call Porcelain Tub to reschedule the reinstall of my fixtures once the reglazing dried. LJ agreed to come out early Saturday morning to do this. I greatly appreciated that because we only have one full bathroom in the home and both Vinny and LJ went the extra mile in order to ensure we weren?t let the entire weekend without a tub. I can?t say enough good things about this company. Everyone that I dealt with (Ramona, LJ and Vinny) were extraordinary. Finding companies like this one is rare. They deliver what they promise and they go out of their way to meet the customer?s needs. The bathroom looks better than we ever thought possible. I highly recommend them.

They gave an estimate over the phone. They provided prompt and courteous service and did a professional job. The tub looks great! The only disappointment was to find out that we could not use comet or other abrasives with the new finish when the job was done. It would have been better if they informed us of that up front when we got the estimate.

From the first time I called the company to the refinisher's last visit, the entire experience was very pleasant. The staff answered all my questions, and they were able to schedule the work on the day I requested. I'm extremely pleased with how my bathtub looks. It makes the rest of my bathroom in desperate need of a makeover!

They added a non-skid bottom for free. The price included a 5% Angie's List discount. He completely cleaned up after himself and it looks wonderful. He was here for 5 hours.

The odors from the cleaning materials and the enamel paint are very strong, but DeeJay was aware of this, and used two exhaust fans to remove the odors to the outside. All the work was carried out very professionally, and we were treated with respect at all times. We had to call DeeJay back to touch up the bathtubs, as a bit of the old enamel was showing through. He returned and completed the project and we are delighted with the outcome. The two bathrooms look fantastic, and we would recommend Porcelain Tub Restorations to anyone. In the DC area is extremely difficult to get great service from contractors, but we're glad to say that PTR are the exception and wish them well. Thanks to all those involved!

The technician looked at it and said it did not need re-glazing; only restoration. Cost would be $300 instead of $375 and less troubling to us because there would not be the odor problem that accompanies re-glazing. The price would include a permanent non-slip white vinyl pad in the tub. The work was done quickly and satisfactorily and we were charged $300 less a $30 senior discount; net $270. About one hour's time, instead of 3-4 hours. On a time and materials basis they made more than thy would have. We paid less, but we got what we needed even though they came out better.

We are pleased with the outcome. The bathtub it self has dulled a bit, but the surround is still as shiny as it was when the work was first completed. It did smell more than expected.
