PORCELAIN TUB RESTORATIONS

The work performed was not trivial but done quickly and very well. The 1940s bathroom was all original. Hector and Vinny were great to work with. I would recommend them and Porcelain Tub to anyone considering doing this work. I have no prior experience in costing this work, but thought the price was good.

From my initial call to the repair of my tub, the service was excellent. I received a quote over the phone after describing my issue. The technician was not only prompt but after calling to see if it was convenient for me, came early. The chip has literally disappeared without a trace. I could be happier with the repair.

Brian did an excellent job repairing both of our bathtubs. One of our overflows was incredibly rusted when we purchased our house and I am thrilled at how nice it looks now.

Good experience with this company. Estimator came out in a timely manner. Work was done when scheduled. All work was done as explained and expected. The unit looks great, although we have not used it yet, as this was the first step in a full bathroom remodel. This company was great to work with and we would recommend them to others interested in this type of refinishing.

Verify quick response and complete explanation of the process and alternatives if the original plan didn't work. Was a two day project but they were always punctual and very hardworking.

It was excellent with them, they did an excellent job. I would have them come back if I had another job to do. I would refer them to neighbors and friends. They provided an estimate, offered suggestions, answered questions, were professional and cleaned up afterwards. I do not have anyone to compare the price to.

Fantastic! It looks better than new. Very professional, from the estimate to the technician to the results. The rest of the room had just been renovated - new tile shower walls and floor, vanity, the works. He carefully masked it all and ventilated the interior bathroom. We found a couple small imperfections, and with one quick call a re-visit was booked and those areas redone. I still can't believe how great it looks.

Worker was prompt. He took great care to cover all surfaces and to vent the smell out of the condo. The only reason I gave a B was because on one side of the tub there were runs where the tub has a wave design n the outside. It's an old plain tub. Since I'm in. Hurry to wrap up this project and because the toilet once installed, you won't be able to see it at any angle. They were really accommodating and I am sure they did have offered to come back and fix it. I just didn't have time. Neighbor even hired them. They sent me a thank you card with a gift card in it. I will probably hire them to enamel my blue tub too.

Technician got there timely, worked through the day doing everything listed above and finished glazing around 6:30 pm. Unfortunately, tub had a few paint runs. He had to come back a week later to sand the runs and reglaze. Tub turned out fine. I believe the job was too much for 1 person to do in 1 day. Glazing a tub requires a lot of patience and concentration which is hard to do after 10 hours of work.

I am very pleased with the repair done to our shower by Porcelain Tub Restorations. We were shocked when our shower pan developed a crack in June. The crack was almost 5 inches long, and a huge disappointment because the shower was only 6 years old. We had a lot of custom tile work surrounding the shower, so replacing it would have messed up some beautiful work and been too costly. My husband researched the issue online and attempted a repair with a Surface Repair brand fiberglass repair paste kit. It took him several hours of prep to do two applications, and the fumes were awful. His repair lasted a couple of weeks before an edge began to lift. We then called Porcelain Tub Restorations; they came out to do a free estimate. They said the work would be $330 and would take about 2 hours. Initially I thought this was a little high, but we scheduled the work and they came out promptly. The repair work done by Porcelain Tub Restorations turned out to be much more comprehensive than I realized. In addition to the crack, they tested the entire shower pan for gaps in support and drilled 3 holes to inject foam under the pan to stabilize it. The fiberglass patch they used to cover the crack was substantive and took time to blend the edges and match the color. Once again the fumes were awful, but the repairman wore a mask and we ventilated the area well. It took over 3 hours to complete the job. The shower pan looks good and seems much improved. Only time will tell if the patch will hold long-term, but after working with the company and interacting with several of their personnel, I have faith they will stand behind their work. We are thrilled with the results and highly recommend Porcelain Tub Restorations.

Excellent. The tub looks brand new again. You cannot notice where the chips were previously. It has been several months and the patches are still holding.

The company comes out to measure and do an estimate. Apparently not all companies come to the house first, which is odd. The web site of Porcelain Tub Restoration is excellent, explaining with videos what is done. The estimate was very detailed. The technician was very competent and professional. I would recommend this company to others.

Hector did a great job in a little over three hours. I'm sorry I do not recall the exact date or price.

Short version: great work, great employees, I'd use them again. Long version: the area right next to the drain of our iron bath tub had slowly rusted out and a leak developed. Several contractors I emailed said that the only option was to rip out the tub (which also requires ripping out tiles adjacent to the tub), which -- as you can imagine -- is an expensive (several thousands of dollars) and multi-day project. After extensive googling, I found Porcelain Tub Restorations, and am glad I did. Why? (1) professional/"squared away" -- returned calls promptly, provided detailed written estimate (2) personnel -- the guys I dealt with in person (one was TJ and I forget the other guy's name) were professional, courteous, worked efficiently, and left the workspace clean. (3) fair price -- obviously a lot cheaper than replacing the tub...I don't know of anyone else who offers the same sort of repair service, so I can't give and apples-to-apples comparison, but I was fine with the ~$900 cost. (4) Quality results -- tub looks great, so far the repair has held up 110% aok. (I will update this review if anything changes on that front). The only heads-up I would provide -- and PTR did alert me to this ahead of time -- is that after the work is done, there are strong fumes that remain for ~24 hours. So make sure to have fans to vent the work space!! Do not underestimate how strong the fumes will be!! :-) TL;DR: I never write reviews, but was so favorably impressed with these guys I thought it was only fair to do so. Excellent work, good price, good service, good employees.

They are professional, punctual, and do a great job. This is the third time we've used them and they are very consistent. This time they forgot to provide a rough surface on the floor of the tub and when we asked about it they immediately scheduled another time to come finish the job. We're finishing up a major renovation of a house we just purchased and some of our other contractors are asking us for payment before the service is even close to completion; this organization doesn't mention the bill until you request it which is a pleasant way of doing business.

Good paint job -- looks like new. However, the caulk that was used was not water proof so had to be replaced after a few uses. Suggest you request that 100% silicon caulk be used by painter.

From start to finish Porcelain Tub Restoration could not have been more professional. Ramona took my call and was hugely knowledgeable on all aspects of tub refinishing. After explaining that I had a 1941 cast iron tub in dreadful need of restoration she scheduled LaJon to perform an inspection and provide an estimate for the job. LaJon arrived to the minute of the scheduled appointment and I was given advance notice via text message (the office is excellent at using text messages and email to communicate. LaJon also called before arriving. LaJon determined my tub was a prime candidate for restoration and assured me it appear as if new when finished. He gave me an estimate of about $550 for the job which seemed quite reasonable and also advised me to call a professional plumber to remove the waist drain and overflow. Not only is the tub a 1941 tub, the house is a 1941 house and he was concerned there would be complications in removing the waist drain. So I contacted an Angie's List plumber (Kramer & Sons - and I can't say enough positive about them) and scheduled the drain removal, then scheduled the tub restoration. As it turns out LaJon's concern was well founded as the drain had to be cut out of the tub and the trap beneath it replaced. Eventually the tub was ready of restoration I again arranged a date with Ramona (who also helped immensely in helping me understand exactly what the plumber needed to do). On the scheduled date the technician, Hector, arrived (preceded by a text message and a call from Hector). An absolute professional Hector explained in detail what he would be doing and noted upfront that where the drain had been cut out would require additional restoration work beyond the original estimate (about $150). Hector carefully set up a ventilation system out a bedroom window to vent fumes while making sure to cover any exposed carpet. After nearly four hours of work Hector called me up to see his masterpiece and that's exactly what it was - the tub glistened as if new. Irregularities in the original cast iron had been repaired and the caulking around the tub was perfect. Hector is an artist at what he does. Payment was completed the next day by providing Ramona credit card information over the phone. Invoice and receipt were sent by email. If you're going to have a tub restored or refinished, call Porcelain Tub Restoration. It's as simple as that.

They were excellent!!! I would highly recommend them. They were timely, efficient, clean, and courteous. It was a great experience.

Worst decision of my life! The tub had to be reglazed because the technician removed paper immediately after the reglazing. I informed the supervisor that the first technician was not to return. Guess who showed up for the second reglazing?! I took photos of the damaged and cracked tiles along with the baseboards and shoe molding. The next technician came out to put in the drain and overflow cover. This was also a disaster, the tub leaked around the drain onto the basement floor! All in all, Porcelain Tub Restorations had to come out a total of 6 times to fix the tub. Finally, they sent me a bill for the full asking price even after two supervisors said they would deduct the damage from the bill. I informed them that because of inexperienced staff I would only pay less than half; they honored my price of $300.00. Would not recommend!

My wife & I found out about Porcelain Tub Restoration while we where under contract to buy our first home. An older home that was in desperate need of a bathroom update, the hallway bath had ugly pink & maroon tiles/tub. We received estimates from three home improvement companies and two tile restoration companies. Instead of paying 75% more for a full bathroom tile/tub tear out and redo, we decided to go with Porcelain Tub Restoration for tile/tub reglazing services at a fraction of the cost. Their excellent references, longstanding reputable history, and our estimator LJ's knowledgeable explanation of what to expect helped make our decision. Chris came out and performed an amazing reglazing that immediately made our bathroom look brand new again by changing the pink & maroon for a clean, crisp shiny white. We were so impressed how good our bathroom looked afterwards & happy about the money saved. Thank you for helping us get a new bathroom at a fraction of what we would have paid!

The installer was late. However, given the traffic in Washington DC I can give him the benefit of the doubt.. The repair went super. The installer explained the procedure and it came out better than i expected. I would definitely use these folks again
