PORCELAIN TUB RESTORATIONS

From initial contact to paying the bill and the company leaving, the experience was far above any expectations that I had. The sales representative was scheduled and arrived within 10 minutes of the stated time, he was very professional and did a meticulous inspection of the bathroom. He explained all of the options and detailed all of the costs. He went over the dates that the company had open and that I had time available and we settled on tentative dates with the dates subject to change after I had an opportunity to talk with my wife. On the project start day the owner came exactly on time with his technician right behind him. He introduced him self and his technician so that I knew this worker was with the company. Both of the people were polite and professional. After we went over the projet together and the technician explained all that he would do the owner left and the technician cleaned, taped, and applied all of the coatings and sealers. The technician told me he would need 3 days to complete the work and allow for drying and setting. The finished tub, tile walls, and tile floorwas magnificent and I was very pleased. My wife inspected the area when she came home and discovered 7 imperfections (slightly rough feel on the tile near the light switch; a single drop on an edge of the tile wall; a small cat hair on the surface of the wall tile; and a number (4) small lines/crack repairs in the wall finish). I had trouble finding these imperfections but called the company and asked if these could be addressed; ther was no hesitation on the companies part, I was assured that they would be corrected and a date was agreed on for the technician to return for the repairs. I had to change the repair date 4 times due to my schedule with no complaints from the company. The technician came and corrected every item that my wife identified. The overall job and work was above outstanding.

I hired a contractor to completely redo my bathroom. Reglazing a tub is a specialty area so my contractor hired this company to reglaze the porcelain tub. This company did a BAD job.They did a horrible job and it now has drips in the finish, unsmooth areas and does not look good The quality guy for the company Brian came out here and admitted they did a BAD job. In front of Brian I expressed my displeasure with the contractor that the job timeline needed to be extended. I had been without a bath or shower for two weeks and was not pleased that because of this company's BAD job on the tub the bathroom was going to take even longer. They say they interpreted my displeasure that I did not want the job fixed?!? Really are you stupid? I just redid my whole bath why would I want a tub that is not smooth and looks BAD?This company has still not fixed the situation and basically have lied about it to me and the contractor - making personality issues the reason, they DO NOT STAND BEHIND THERE WORK.They did not get along with the contractor and said the poor job on the tub was the contractor's fault because he made the technician take longer and made him nervous!!! What a crock! My contractor was doing his job - he wanted to be sure everything was masked off properly so the newly installed tile would not be damaged. When my contractor tried to get them to correct the BAD job they did they said they would not deal with him anymore because he was not cooperating with getting the reglaze scheduled so they called me direct and scheduled to come fix the situation. They called me direct - This company told me on the phone that they had an issue with the actual material used on the tub and that there were issues at other jobs. You would think this is enough of a reason for them to come back andcorrect the situation. They were only going to offer a short two year warranty instead of the 5 year warranty they list on there website, when I questioned this they said it was because the drain and overflow needed to be removed and that the contractor was not going to come back and remove it. I asked if they could remove it and reinstall it they said they could but that it had not been removed the first time - which is not true. They agreed they would remove it, as long as there was an access panel - which there is.They were scheduled to come Today June 4 to redo the tub they DID NOT SHOW UP. I called and asked why they were not here and spoke to there general manager Mr Pryor - may you never have to deal with this idiot!. I was told after they called me to schedule the appointment they spoke again with the contractor- don't know why - they say I told them to - which is not the case and makes no sense since they had called me directly, unsolicited by me, to schedule the appointment. So evidently when they spoke with the contractor again and had another disagreement they canceled the appointment but did not have the courtesy to call me and cancel, they felt that was the contractors responsibility to cancel an appointment that this company had made directly with me, after they called me - that's NUTS. These people are crazy and I would recommend you NEVER USE THEMSo bottom line this company does POOR WORK and then does not stand behind the job. They had a personality conflict with the contractor and because of that I am stuck with a CRAPPY reglaze JOB on my tub. THEY REFUSE TO CORRECT THE SITUATION AND FIX THE POOR JOB THEY DID - they try to blame me and the contractor but the only ones who re-glazed the tub were Porcelain Tub Restoration - I did not glaze the tub and neither did my contract - they claim 100% money back guarantee - what good is that if they do a poor job that you are stuck with? They lied about the circumstances and have made all kind of excuses. Bottom line: they do not stand behind there work, don't be fooled by the 2011 award and 'A' rating on Angies List. The owner is not conscientious -there is a reason the owner replies to every comment on Angie's List that is how you keep an A rating for F work. Should be interesting to see how he responds to my comments .

They were extremely reliable and efficient. They came when they said they would and when they had to do less work than what had been estimated, the extra charge was deleted from the bill. The work took the amount of time they promised.

The technician was prompt, knowledgeable and did a wonderful job of matching the existing cclors.

This company was very patient with me. They fielded al east 3 calls form me beforehand iwth quesitoons about the service, worked with me on a date and didn't get upset when I changed on them at the last moment, helped me negotiate a decent price, and performed the work at the time and price we agreed on. No sweat. If there is a drawback it is that the process stinks up the house but they took pains to mitigate that.

It is done finally. The outcome is fine now! I would like to thank PTR for working with me towards a mutual satisfaction.

Our bathroom badly needed repairs and updating. Porcelain Tub Restorations (PTR) came out originally just to remove the bathroom's tub liner and adhesive walls that were compromised and developing mildew and mold symptoms. Then they were going to reglaze the existing tub and tiles. During the removal process, we/PTR discovered the unnecessary damages done previously when the adhesive liners were installed by another company. Before we became too distraught, Mr. Paul Burns, the owner, was very responsive and assured us that his team could do the extensive remodeling that now needed to be done in our bathroom. All we can say is that it was a lot of work, but Mr. Burns and his team were very professional and service-oriented and were able to schedule us quickly. The bathroom remodel is beautiful. We have brand new plumbing, wall/floor tiles, tub, faucets and fixtures. We could not be happier. PTR did what they promised, in the timeframe given, and even went the extra mile on the details. Most importantly for us, Mr. Burns provided a financing option that certainly made the remodeling affordable and possible for us. PTR provided excellent service and workmanship.

Refinished tub and drain assembly turned out fine. In a few places the ceramic tiles are not all flush. Installer used black cement backing behind the ceramic tiles on the one wall at the side of the tub and filled in grooves with the white grout. In some places the black cement showed through when the grout got wet. A few days later I wound up scraping out grout in the seams of a few areas and refilling a few places deeper with grout so the black backing cement would not show through when it got wet. On the walls on the two ends of the tub the installer used white cement backing and prevented the problem on those two walls.

I was remodeling my main bathoom including installing new tile around the tub.I talked to Ramona on a Friday to get an idea of price, lead time and what was needed on my end to be ready. She told me the new tile should be installed prior to reglazing and that they can usually come out within 4-5 days. I told her I would call back on Monday when I had a better idea of when I would finish the tiling job. When I called her back on Monday and told her I needed to have the job done as soon as possible, she scheduled the job for Wednesday. Ramaona was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Hector the technician called and said he would be at my home at 9:00 am and showed up on time. Hector describd to me in detail on what was going to take place. He started working right away. He took great care of my home covering everything with drop cloths and sealed of the doorway with plastic to keeep the fumes to a minimum. Hector also used a evactuator to blow the fumes out a window via duct work. The job took about 3 1/2 hours to complete. The tub looks great and Hector takes great pride in his work and is a very pleasant person. Hector cleaned the area up afterwards and told me he would be back at 8:00 am to install the new drain and overflow. He pulled in my driveway at 7:55 and was done by 8:30. They give a five year warranty on their work when the new drain and overflow is installed, though I'm not quite sure what is covered under it which is my fault since I didn't ask. If the company is anything like their employees I think I will be very happy with my investment. Time will tell on how the product holds up. I noticed the owner seems to reply to all reports, which to me shows he cares.

Contacted this company after not being contacted by another tub refinishing company from Angie's List. This company immediately quoted the job and scheduled the job to be performed the next day. The technician, Jay, showed up explained the complete process and did a fabulous job. Technician returned the next day to put the drain back in the tub.

Brian gave me a quote and then an Angie's list discount. I added one extra detail and he promptly re quoted the figure. They came on Friday and Finished on Saturday. Excellent work and did not even now anyone had been in the bathroom after they were gone. Tub looks like new and a lot cheaper than a replacement tub plus a plumber bill.

Hector Villa did the work and he ensured that he explained everything that was going to happen. Hector worked efficiently and he showed concern, knowledge and professionalism. He did a great job recaulking and matching the color of the tub to the wall tiles.

Wow! I can't tell you how pleased I was with the quality of service I received from PTR. I called to enquire about the process and I honestly was expecting to have very few of my questions answered, but Ramona answered every question and was such a sweetheart on the phone. I felt very comfortable scheduling the appt. Hector showed up on time and immediately started prepping the area and working on the tub. I had color matching that needed to be done as well and also I had a concern about pulling the old drain. Since the tub was over 40 years old and the drain as never been pulled before, I was concerned it was rusted into place and a plumber would have to come in and do it. Ramona assured me that the technician would let me know prior to starting the reglazing whether the drain could be replaced or a plumber would have to be called to take care of that. Hector was able to pull the old drain and did an excellent job color matching. The job in the 3 hrs just as Ramona stated on the phone. The tub needed to cure, and they were back the following day to place my new drain cap in. I have had several people ask me if I replaced the tub, and I brag about how this was once my old yellow tub. It looks like a brand new replacement tub. Thank you PTR! I'm so happy with my bath remodel.

They were very professional, wouldn't leave until my wife was happy that everything looked the way she wanted it, and charged exactly what they said they would (which was the best price quote we had gotten). Would strongly recommend this company.

I set up the appointment about three days in advance. The technician, Willie, was right on time and did the work in about 2 1/2 hours. (In order to reinstall the overflow and drain, it required he return the next day for about half an hour's worth of work after the tub had dried.) He was very courteous and explained everything to me. He cleaned up all the work nicely, so there was nothing left behind. I am very satisfied with the job and my tub looks brand new.

Work was performed by Mr. Wayne Chaconas and was done in a timely and very efficient and professional manner. Mr. Chaconas kept me abreast of the various stages of the reglazing process, and my tub looks and feels brand new.

From estimate to completion, the services provided by Porcelain Tub Restorations were excellent. Hector, the painter/reglazer, was very professional and did a beautiful job. The company offers either white or bone paint and we were not wild about either. So Hector mixed the two and gave us a beautiful almond color. He cleaned all the grout and repaired a couple of cracked tiles, then etched the surfaces. It was a bit stinky, so I put the cats outside. When Hector applied the actual paint, he vented the fumes out the window, which worked really well. He came back the next day to install the new drain and overflow in the tub. He was prompt and courteous, and he is a very nice man. We would recommend this company wholeheartedly. We are very happy with the results.

I read the Angie's List reviews carefully before calling Porcelain Tub Restorations. When I called for an appointment for an estimate to reglaze my tub and tile, I was dismayed to discover that I would have to take time off from work during the week to meet the estimator but those stellar reviews urged me on. On the day of the appointment, I received a message that the estimator would not be available until much after the agreed upon time and I was not happy. I asked how they were going to make this right and they did! Within 30 minutes, the General Manager appeared at my door and provided the estimate. He, LJ, was a very pleasant and professional fellow who answered all my questions to my great satisfaction. I was able to book an appointment for the following Saturday, May 7th. Hector arrived ready to work and could not have been nicer or more accommodating. He worked steadily all day and when he left the bathroom looked brand new. I am very pleased with the entire job and Porcelain Restoration Tubs. And the price was right!

Mr. Pryor gave me a creditable estimate from digitual photos of my two bathtubs. We set up the date in October. On that day, Willie called to let me know he was running late. I had other contractors working so that was fine with me. He arrived when he said he would (the job started at 10:30am instead of 8am), went into the master bathroom and finished the job on time. He vented the bathroom fumes out the bedroom window and there was very little odor when he left. The bathroom was clean and my carpet showed no signs that he had been there. He was very informative and personable. The nick in the guest bathtub was fixed and I was able to use it the next morning. He returned the next afternoon and when replacing the tub drain, found that the tub shoe had separated from the tub. I learned a lot about bath tubs from Willie. He called the company and we had to schedule the repair for another weekend which was OK since I had a 2nd bathroom to use. Willie and Brian arrived on time for the repair work. Brian assisted Willie during the repair of the tub shoe and is another professional example of the company. He explained to me what would need to be done (cutting the tub to reconnect the pipe, repairing the cut and reglazing the tub). He worked with Willie until the repair was completed, even though he had other responsibilities that day. The repair and reglazing were done in one day. Again the ventilation was excellent, the bedroom and bathroom were left clean and the tub was usable the next day. Remona from the Front Office was my contact person with the company. She was always calm, understanding and quite knowledgeable about the work to be done or the parts that were needed or the people who would be doing the work or the line items on my bill. I would highly recommend Porcelain Tub Restorations for their work especially since they handled the unexpected repair work so professionally.

Hector was wonderful! He was punctual, polite, professional & thorough. He recognized exactly what did & did not need to be done, then proceeded to do it in a very careful & complete manner. I couldn't be more pleased. I will not only be certain to use this company again, I will also request Hector personally.

Porcelaine Tub Restorations gave me a quote of $641.25 to perform the services, however we ran into some problems. A mistake was made by the company when the drain was replaced. The drain was not screwed in properly and the overflow was not properly sealed, which led to drywall damage. Mistakes happen and the company honored it's 5-year "no quibbles" guarantee. They did not charge me for the job. Furthermore, they paid the plumber that I hired on a Saturday to help me identify the problem. LJ, a supervisor, fixed the drain and overflow, and the company brought in their own men to repair the drywall. I had trouble getting ahold of a supervisor on the business day following the drain problem and was surprised that my situation was not considered a high enough priority to get an immediate response from someone with authority to make important decisions. Again, when all was said and done, they honored their warranty and I would trust them in the future because of that. The tub looks beautiful.

After contacting Brian the previous weekend and e-mailing him a photo of my tub, he was very responsive and quickly gave me a quote. I was surprised they were able to schedule my tub on that Friday in the morning and would take a 1/2 day. In the morning I received a phone call the techinican was on the way anda he arrived a little after 10. He was quick and professional the whole time, took time to answer any questions I had. He was great especially since my bathroom is tiny with little ventilation. Due to labor day weekend, another technician arrived in the afternoon and installed new drainage (which was sorely needed). He also was very polite, knowledgable and professional, again addressing all our questions. We had some of the re-glazing on the toilet and he explained the cause and was able to clean it up. The bathtub looks fantastic and brightens up the small space being a bright white. I would highy recommend them.

I feel that I have a new bathroom!! It truly turned out beautiful and exceeded my expectations. However, there is always room for improvement: 1. There were problems w/scheduling - no one arrived at the scheduled time for the estimate (I had taken off work). I called the office and was told they must have made a mistake because I was not on the schedule. To their credit, an estimator was dispatched and arrived within 2 hours. Estimator was excellent. 3. My floors were dirty with footprints after the grouting process. Since they are hardwood I needed to clean them myself to avoid any further damage. 3. Due to my work schedule, I had scheduled one of the service days for an afternoon time frame. However, technicians showed up in the morning instead. Luckily, my schedule changed and I was home afterall. ALL TECHNICIANS WERE PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND A PLEASURE TO HAVE IN MY HOME.

When I first contacted Porcelain Tub Restorations, I was impressed by the level of knowledge of Ramona, their customer care representative. I made the appointment for Friday, June 4 for stripping and refinishing of our only bath tub. In order to ensure a longer life of my tub finish, I opted for the additional service of hardware removal and reinstallation. When I made my appointment, I made sure that someone would be available to reinstall the hardware on Saturday as this is our only tub and it was forecasted to be a scorcher over the weekend; in a house without air conditioning, showers are important. I was assured that there was no problem with completing the hardware reinstallation and someone would be able to come by on Saturday. Their technician, Willie came by on Friday to strip and refinish the tub. The tub looked beautiful, although a few things did stand out. First, he left little bits of paint all over our hallway. And second, at one point he stood at the top of the stairs and yelled down for me to get him a glass of water. I have no problem providing water, it was however an odd interaction, and not particularly professional. Before he left, I reconfirmed that he or another technician would be by to reinstall the hardware. No one showed up to reinstall the hardware on Saturday or Sunday. We were without a functioning tub in 90 degree heat. I called on Saturday afternoon and left a message on the answering service explaining who I was, the situation, and requesting a return call. Hoping that they would live up to their highly-rated customer service, I did not call first thing on Monday. I waited until mid-morning and I was told that they thought they could probably send someone out that evening, but that they would have to call me back to confirm. They explained that their technician had an emergency to take care of, which is why he missed the appointment on Saturday. After not hearing from anyone all day, I called at 4 pm, 30 minutes before they close and was told that someone would come by. A technician did come by, the reinstallation took approximately 30 minutes. More than anything, I was disappointed by the customer service. I completely understand that emergencies happen, but I do expect that someone would have called to notify me of the cancellation. I also expected that the customer service representative I spoke with on Monday would have called back as promised. In short, I expected more proactive customer service from a company that has received high ratings here on Angie's List.

I was in the process of renovating a bathroom when I got a call from my contractor -- our new special-order porcelain tub had some significant cosmetic damage and needed repair. Since I didn't have time to wait for a new tub to be shipped, I called Porcelain Tub Restorations. They quickly told me that they could fix the problems for a flat fee of $200 and could be at my house within a week. It ultimately turned out that the damage to our tub was concealed by the surround tiling, so we didn't hire PTR, but I could not have been happier and more impressed with the company and its willingness to help.
