Called for an estimate and PTR scheduled for Friday, received an estimate which reflected the exact price indicated on their website, and was able to schedule service for the next Friday (although they had sooner availability). The estimator indicated that I could remove the tub drain myself or have them remove and replace for a fee in order to extend the coating guarantee to five years. I opted to remove myself to save money. The only inconsistency in service was that the technician arrived 45 minutes earlier than the scheduled 9-10am window. I was not at the location and this early arrival wasn't communicated to me previously. However, he was able to wait for me to get there, and of course I'd rather this situation occur than have a service provider be late. It took approximately 4 hours to prepare the tub, mask off the bathroom, apply the coatings and clean up. I performed other work while he was there and the odor was not overly offensive, although noticeable. The technician was friendly and thorough, cleaned up everything well, and discussed with me the merits of their process. I've seen the disappointing results of other tub resurfacing (< 1 year) and I'm hopeful that PTRs work last longer, and I have some comfort that it will. Good service and have already recommended to another friend.

They were great all around - from estimate to job completion.

The technician, Hector, was on time, very professional, explained what he was going to do and got right to work. The company was having a promotion and I was able to get non-slip texture on both tubs for no additional charge. The texture is great. The work is really good and looks like I have brand new tubs. The work took about 5 hours - just as he had informed me - and he left it clean when he was done.

In the end they did a good job however I would not use them again. I initially had scheduled another company to refinish the bathtub but I decided to join Angie's List to get a good recommendation. I didn't see that first company listed so I went with PORCELAIN TUB RESTORATIONS because they were rated high and the reviews looked good. I cancelled the first company and made an appointment with this company to do the work. They recommend that the new tile work around the tub be completed first but that the rest of the bathroom renovation stop until the tub is refinished and completely dry, before finishing off the rest of the job I asked my contractor to stop work for a day and a half for the tub to be refinished and for it to dry. The first guy from this company came and sprayed the tub but did a terrible job. There were clumps of refinishing material in the four corners at the bottom of the tub. I called to complain and they agreed to fix it but could not come out that day and so we had to wait for the following Monday. In the mean time , the contractor could not get into the bathroom to finish the work or even install the other fixtures. Therefore we did not have use of our main bathroom for another weekend. My contractor was also forced to start another job because he couldn't wait that long for the tub to be refinished. They sent someone different out to sand the tub down and start over and he did a good job. They took $100 off the bill because of all the trouble , which is about the price that the original company that I scheduled, was charging in the first place. It was not worth all the trouble and the long period of time that I was without this bathroom. I should have gone with the other company.

I don?t usually write reviews, but I have to compliment Porcelain Tub Restorations for the outstanding service they provided my family. Our first encounter setting up the estimate was very friendly and helpful. The customer rep showed up at the house exactly at the time they arranged, reviewed two bathrooms which we planned to have a tub and stall shower re-glazed, and gave us a complete briefing of the service and suggestions on the best approach to meet our requirements. On the morning of the first call, the office called me in to confirm the appointment. Very friendly staff on the phone by the way. Carl showed up exactly on time and spent several hours reglazing the tub. He carefully covered all bathroom fixtures with tape and plastic to prevent any overspray, cut out the existing drain and found an adapter for the new drain and overflow. The finished job was excellent, including subsequently applying a non-skid surface on his second visit to install the drains. I also have the company coming back after the holidays to do another bathroom. Both the estimator and Carol, the technician, did a totally outstanding job representing their company and the product . I wish to compliment Porcelain Tub Restorations management for the friendliness and professionalism of their staff and the service they provided my family. I would highly recommend other prospective customers to visit their very informative web site, or call their friendly staff to discuss you requirements. You wont be disappointed !!!!

He came on time; was very professional; went right to work; took lots of precautions to keep odor and dust from spreading, including venting to the outside; removed all evidence of his presence; left me with a beautiful "new" tub. Took about 3 hours.

Good experience. The subcontractor doing the work was great, knowlegable, and thorough. He pointed out the bad grout areas in advance and then applied new grout after scraping a few loose places. He pointed out a few places where the old tile had odd features that would show up on the finished product, this was helpful so that I knew they were 'existing' and not his mistakes. It was less expensive than another local company but still seems like a lot. But, it was fast and cheaper than buying/installing a new tub and tile. The finished work looks very nice and changes the room for the better. So far, we are very pleased.

Porcelain Tub Restorations provided a free estimate that involved stripping off a poorly done at-home refinishing job from the previous homeowners. Mike came in and spent the morning doing the work, but unfortunately there were some drips and rough inclusions in the finish once he was done. He came back out to buff the tub, but this took away the shiny finish and I was concerned that the coating would no longer stand the test of time. A manager then came out and spent several hours making sure the tub was smooth, polished, and drip-free. Although it's unfortunate that it took so many visits, P.T.R. were kind and very professional throughout, took my concerns seriously, and acted quickly on them - attributes you don't find in a lot of companies these days. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again.

The gentleman (cannot remember his name, but it starts with "M") was later than I thought he would be (Unsure if he was coming from another job), but he got right to work. He was extremely detailed and continued to make sure of what we wanted. He was a great worker for two days! We are 100% satisfied!

We purchased a sink on the internet and did not realize that the back of the sink was not finished. The was the contractor installed the sink revealed the back in the mirror. We took pictures of the sink and sent them to Porcelain Tub and they responded quickly with a proposal. They came out and removed the sink, finished it, and re-installed it within 48 hours. The work was professional and we were very pleased with the results.

Estimate was quick and easy, they had me send them pictures of the tub via email and replied with the cost to repair. Hector came on time as scheduled and was very helpful and professional. He let me know exactly what he would be doing and how long it would take. He was very careful to cover and protect all the things in and around the bathroom. He had to vent the fumes by use of an exhaust fan to a window and then outside. Hector is definitely an asset to this company. Couldn't be happier with the results and at quite a big savings. New tub would have cost me around $3,000 and the repaired tub looks great. I will certainly recommend them to my friends and family. Many thanks!

The only reason I selected PTR is their emphasis of the drain replacement as part of the reglazing process. They actually go distance to say that this is what separates PTR from competition (Quote from their website: #2 most tub companies don?t have a clue how to do it. Granted they are not plumbers but it?s not rocket science either. A Refinishing Company doing drain replacement should carry a light plumbing addition to their General Liability.) Well, what I found is this company is no different, so please save your money and go with their Angies List less costly competition. From the beginning: I contacted PTR representative and obtained a quote. After some time I emailed back and requested an appointment. After not receiving any response to my email I called PTR. I was told that the person with whom I emailed was? no longer? with the company. OK. So I gave all information over the phone and scheduled an appointment. On the day of the appointment PTR did not show up. So I waited and waited and waited and finally called them. I was told that the lady with whom I talked on the phone is on vacation and probably didn?t enter my appointment into the computer. Credit given, they were able to find a technician and send him my way. PTR technician arrived late afternoon, very polite and apologetic for the situation. But when he went to see the bathroom he immediately informed me that my tub has J-type drain and they don?t want to be bothered with replacing the drain. I explained to the technician that ?being bothered? with the drain (J-type or not) is why I was willing to pay $600 over $300 that their competitors charge. After calling his supervisor they agreed to remove the drain only if I accept all ?liabilities?; so much for ?We install hundreds of drains every month?. Well 30 min later drain was still in the tub and PTR technician told me that he has been with the company only 5 month and doesn?t even have tools to properly remove this drain. The only options were to glaze over it or wait for someone else to come at some other time and cut it out. Based on the experience so far I was very hesitant to allow PTR to use power tools around my house. Bottom line PTR misplaced my information twice, did not remove the drain and did not discount this job to match Angies List offers that do not include drain removal even after all screw ups on their end. More than that, they damaged my walls by using blue tape on fresh paint and by banging their equipment going in and out. Now it needs to be patched and repainted. Overall, my tub is still yellow and that?s ?F-? Mr. Burns, not a ?world class service? you advertised!

PTR was able to schedule the work when I wanted, and arrived when they said they would and completed the work on time. The technician was Hector, who did excellent work and was professional throughout the experience. I elected to replace the drain fixture, which added to the cost but ended up turning out very well. It now operates much better than the old one. During the process of replacing the drain, an issue with a corroded pipe caused a leak from the second-floor bathroom onto the ceiling of the first floor. Fortunately we caught it quickly and it only caused minimal damage. Hector was able to replace the corroded section of pipe from supplies he had on hand and complete the repair. There was no additional charge applied. He did have to come back for a very short amount of time the next day to complete the job, which is normal. Overall, I'm very happy with how the job turned out and would definitely use them again.

I had my bathtub re-glazed about 5 years ago by a different company who did a terrible job. It immediately bubbled and peeled. They came back twice more to try and fix it but it was never done right. I hired Porcelain Tub Restorations based on the other reviews and that they would remove old glazing prior to redoing the work. I was extremely happy with the outcome. The tub looks great. They took great pains to make sure the fumes were vented out of the house and that everything else in the immediate vicinity of the tub was covered and protected. I would definitely recommend this company and would use them again in the future. The office staff was also very nice and easy to work with for scheduling.

I called the company to find out why someone was at my house today when my scheduled appointment was not for another 5 days. They informed me that there was no way I could have had an appointment for next Monday as the schedule for that week was already full when I made the appointment (this Monday). Obviously they have difficulty with whatever scheduling system they are utilizing. As my schedule is very difficult to work around, I told them not to bother trying to reschedule me if they cannot keep track/accurately account for their appointments.

We wanted to get our tub refinished. Not some cheapo treatment that peels or turns yellow. So we searched for a company with great qualifications and picked Porcelain Tub Restorations. The day the person came by to do the work my wife called from her office. She noticed that Porcelain Tub Restorations also does tile refinishing (for the walls). The tile was in good shape, but the grout didn't match. They were able to do both the same day. I wanted them to replace the drain too. But, they needed an access panel, which my house din not have. I removed the old drain the day before so the technician could coat the tub. I was having trouble finding a quality drain replacement that would fit the pipe in my house. The technician had one that was perfect! Our whole family is very impressed with the great job and the very visible improvement, as are our visitors.

Porcelain Tub Restorations gave first rate / excellent advice in the restoration of the tub. We wanted a custom color for the exterior of the tub and the Owner himself worked with us to custom blend a color that matched our color scheme. The refinishing material offered is of the utmost top quality, the service was top notch not only by the Owner but the entire staff. Movers that brought the tub into the house slightly scuffed the finish while moving this beast of a tub upstairs. Porcelain Tubs came out and touched up the tub and the touch-up work was absolutely flawless. As an Architect, I cannot say enough about the expertise/craftsmanship and service that Porcelain Tub Restorations gave us. The price they charge is not the cheapest you will find, however the quality of work and the warranty they offer is by far the best value. Thank you!

Hector was the employee sent out to do the job. He was even willing to work on Labor Day weekend to get the 2 day job done. He mixed colors for us until we agreed on a beige for the walls and white for the tub. Hector was very courteous and a hard worker. He did an excellent job and we would highly recommend him. He let us know what he was doing as he went along.

Overall, it went very well. The supervisor and workman were very professional and gave me good advice. I was not originally going to reglaze my wall tiles but their suggestion to do so was excellent because it gave the tub a uniform look and was much less expensive than replacing old tile. I appreciated that they picked up the shower door because it was very heavy and would not have fit into our car. I would definitely recommend this company and use them again!

We thought we were going to have to replace our bathtub and didn't know an option to reglaze was available until friends told us we could have our tub repaired and refinished and suggested PTR. They came quickly, prepared an estimate and the next week Marlon came (what a great worker!). When he started to repair the tub he found water under the liner of the tub, explained clearly to us that it would have to be dried out, gave suggestions on how to dry this out and said he would be back in a week (no extra charge for this visit ). He returned two days ago, did a great job, my tub looks like new! He was so pleasant, just came back this morning to finish up and recaulked around the tub, and again explained everything he did, we are so delighted!

Hector did a beautiful job. It looks like a brand new tub. I was very leery of having a tub reglazed as I had tried in the past in a previous home, with a different company, and it was a disaster. I now know that the success of tub reglazing depends entirely on the skill of the person doing the job, and they know what they are doing at Porcelain Tub Restorations. I just had it done last week and the real test comes with time, but they guarantee their work for 5 years if you take proper care of it, so they are confident in their work. They charge a bit more than some other prices I've seen listed, but you get what you pay for. Plus, it was more effort to strip off the old layer of paint and I decided to pay the extra "convenience" charge to have them remove and replace the drain (versus doing it yourself or trying to time a plumber). I was very impressed with Hector and everyone I talked to with the company. Hector was polite, professional and extremely hard-working. He also cleaned up after himself and kept the fumes at bay.
