It was a total waste of time.
Description of Work: Needed and Estimate for repairs to our home (Previous Contractor was fired) I had to call many times to get someone to return the call. I finally spoke to someone and they agreed to come an do an estimate. The person doing the estimate berated me for being late (although my husband was at home to take him through the house. The individual refused to give me an estimate although I provided photos and took him around the house. I was of the opinion that he just was not interested in really looking at the work to be done and providing any kind of estimate. They way it ended, he said he needed to go to another appointment, he would not tell me how much the repairs would cost and said they would only do the job for an hourly rate for an undetermined period of time. This was a total waste of time. The estimator was rude and unhelpful.

We would like to thank this member for sharing her comments and feedback. Our goal is to make every client experience a pleasant one, even in cases where we find that we might not be the right choice. We knew that this member’s remodeling project consisted of work that was started by another remodeling company. Even though we typically do not get involved in projects started by other firms, we wanted to give this client the best advice and help her out. Prior to the scheduled meeting, we contacted the client to confirm. We did not get response. We contacted the client again and after several days received a message saying that she would definitely be there for the meeting. The appointment was scheduled on Monday 10/31/11 at 9:00 am. We typically allow 2 hours for the initial consultation. Our Project Designer showed up 10 minutes early, waited in his car and right at 9:00 am went to ring the doorbell. No one answered. After waiting for a few minutes our Project Designer went back to his car, waited about 10 minutes and got out again wanting to leave the client a note. He then realized that the client’s husband was home. He was surprised to see our Project Designer and had no idea about the appointment. He said that his wife was not home and told our representative he was on a conference call. He placed his call on mute and quickly showed our Project Designer around the house. He handed our Project Designer some photos and said that he needed to get back to his work and his phone calls. He said to feel free to walk around the house. The member showed up over an hour late for the appointment and continued the conversation about the work that was left undone by another company. Our representative explained to the member that there were obvious construction defects and code violations and because of that the only reasonable solution to tackle this project would be on a time and materials basis, because it would be impossible to accurately estimate all the unknowns that would be uncovered. At that point it was close to noon and our Project Designer had another appointment with a client at 12:00 pm. He explained the situation to the member, but she continued wanting him to look at the work that needed to be finished and pressed for an estimate. We take our clients and our commitments very seriously. Our Project Designer did not want to be late for his other appointment. He explained to the member again that Case could only do this work on a time and materials basis. We are sorry that this member was not happy. Since 1961, we have completed thousands of remodeling projects and our goal and commitment is to make every experience a pleasant one. Our intention was to help and we spent close to 3 hours with this client reviewing the work and gave our best advice and solution for completing the project. We wish this client all the best.

Description of Work: We received an estimate for a large master bathroom. Case was very professional and detail oriented and I'm sure they would have done an outstanding job. Their estimate was extremely expensive ($70,000) and we are looking to pay about half of that. I knew they would have been expensive, but this was more than I thought. They have an excellent reputation, but I guess you really have to pay for it.

Description of Work: Repairs on front porch. Work was originally scheduled for 8/11 but they were behind schedule and came by to determine what materials were needed. Reschedule for 8/14/09. Came and took damaged part apart. Left suddenly and did not reappear. When I called they wanted to reschedule for the 28 of August. I told them I would find someone more reliable.

Description of Work: I am in the process of purchasing a home and renovating it with an FHA loan which requires a selected contractor and quote for the services to be performed. I am looking to renovate a house in Petworth. The lady who answered the phone was slow and not particularly friendly and after many questions told me that they do not provide quotes or inspect places that have not been purchased yet. Not allowing further explanation. If Case can afford to be this picky and have this limited Customer Service I probably would not want to work with them in any event. Nor would I ever call them for any remodeling needs ever again.
