The Grout Medic - Montgomery County

Dennis was punctual for both the free estimate and the day of the job. He quickly identified what needed to be done and provided me a very competitive fixed-price estimate. He determined that it was a normal small job. Two other Angie's list providers had given me hourly rates with vague times to complete the job. One even planned to charge me to go to the hardware store to pick up what he needed, even though his estimator had come to the house to see the shower. Dennis was very clear in explaining what needed to be done and efficient in how he did it.

I moved into a new home a couple of months ago and the main bathroom was left in very bad shape. There was mold and mildew embedded in the tile grout on the shower walls and on the floor. I thought I would have to get the entire bathroom renovated! Grout medic to the rescue. He was able to give an estimate within a few days and complete the job within two weeks. He did a superb job. I'm no longer grossed out when I take a shower! It was well worth the money.

I knew I was going to enjoy working with the Grout Medic when he gave me a fifteen minute window for his arrival for the estimate--he arrived right on time for the estimate and the work. He finished the work quickly and even filled in a few gaps in the tile on our guest bathroom without charging us. Honestly, in three years of owning a home the Grout Medic's work is the only home improvement project we've undertaken that I'm truly proud of. Highly recommended!

I could not be happier with the results. The tub was particularly nasty before he came and worked his magic, now it looks better than new. In fact, the only downside is the tiling we didn't get done (because it wasn't too bad) now looks terrible in comparison!

I got an estimate from the contractor, but he was late for the appointment and apologized. On the day of the appointment he was 30 minutes late for the appointment. I left after waiting 20 minutes and got a call 10 minutes later. This was first thing in the morning. I wouldn't use their service again. They don't seem to be any better at grouting and caulking than anyone else, don't let the name fool you.

Mr. Cyr was on time for both the estimate and the work and was and very responsive to our calls. I don't have any experience with this kind of work, but his estimate seemed fair. The job was well done overall, and the grout went from dark and moldy to nice and white. However, we realized that he had deeply scratched a few tiles, (which he didn't point out to us at the time), and I had to point out several areas where there was caulk on the fixtures or on the tiles and ask that they be cleaned. Overall we are satisfied with his work, but the last 10% of the cleanup, i.e. nice smooth caulk lines and wiping up all excess caulk and grout from tiles and fixtures, wasn't done quite as well as we'd have liked. Overall though very professional and we would definitely hire him again.

He took tiles out and ended up replacing part of the wall. Felt that overall he did a pretty good job, but some of the grout spots looked as though they had just been covered over after a couple of washes of the tub.

Mr. Cyr responded quickly to our inquiry. He gave us a free and fair estimate (at no cost). He explained, in detail, what was needed for each bathroom. He gave alternative suggestions to address issues that were not necessarily needed, but could be addressed for cosmetic appearance. Our initial meeting was straight forward and to-the-point; in and out. At the time of service, Mr. Cyr was on time. He went straight to work, and, overall, did a good job on the bathrooms. He even pointed out an issue that could, possibly, be a problem in the future. My only complaint is that Mr. Cyr did not have the necessary equipment to collect his trash. He had trash bags, but I later found some of the old caulk and other trash left in my decorative bathroom trash can. I wished he had said something/asked for a trash can instead of leaving the trash behind for me to find. Again, we were pleased with the grout work, but I felt cleaning up behind himself (his trash - not the tub & shower) was poor.

I couldn't be happier with the work that Denis did. After he re-grouted and re-caulked the shower in our master bathroom, it looked just as good as it did the day we moved in. He was a pleasure to work with, start to finish. Highly recommended.

We loved them. They were great. The experience was very good. They came back because they didn’t do a good job in the bathroom, around the toilet but they came back and fixed it. What stuck out the most was that it was reasonably priced and the person who came wore shorts and it was January.

Re-did grout in tub surround. Very professional, quick, on time, work area cleaned, bath looks great.

Did a fantastic job restoring cracked grout in tile (natural stone) shower. Looks brand new, and i couldn't even tell where he had done the work it matched so well.

Hard working, showed up early evening for a scheduled estimate - relatively brief time looking at things for the estimate, and seems like perhaps he underestimated how old/damaged the old tile was, but once he was done things looked better than I had expected; he warned us that this would be more of a temporary patch and gave some ideas of how to extend the life of the rehab.

The work performed was excellent.

Arrived on time. In about 2 hour, turned filthy black grout into pristine cream colored grout, then stained to match ceramic tiles. Seemed almost magical! Very pleasant man, excellent work. I will be calling him back to do basement bathroom and laundry room.

I would not recommend Grout Medic. Sloppy work and didn't complete job intiially as promised. He didn't regrout the floor of our shower and claimed that that wasn't part of the original estimate. I'm not even sure he actually cleaned it/bleached it prior to regrouting. Sloppy work and missing grout in places.

Dennis provided very good customer service. He was very personable and prompt. Dennis arrived the day of the estimate on time, he was honest about the work that he could provide and then gave an estimate. During the estimate appointment, Dennis was able to set up the appointment for the work to be completed. The day the work was done Dennis was on time again. He worked for about 2.5 hours. The bathroom looked brand new as if we renovated it!!! We are very pleased with everything and definitely recommend Dennis to anyone looking to have the same thing done!!

I was contacted the same day I put in my service request on the Grout Medic website, and was able to set up an evening appointment for the following week. The appointment went well, and Dennis didn't try to oversell us, even though we thought we needed more work done on the tile and grout in other bathrooms. We were able to schedule an appointment two weeks later, and Dennis showed up promptly at 9 am and the work was completed in less than 4 hours. The master bathroom shower looks like new! Having the shower restored to like new conditions really improved the bathroom, I like knowing everything has been resealed. I would not hesitate to contact Dennis for any future tile restoration or repair.

The bathroom floor looks better than new. Dennis did an EXCELLENT job. He was punctual, courteous, and very professional. He brought everything that he needed to do the job, worked efficiently, and cleaned up thoroughly. Wish that he did other types of work - I'd hire him again in a heartbeat.
