We signed up online on a Wednesday for an appointment for noon on Saturday. I was sent an e-mail stating that someone would be in touch with me to confirm the appointment. On Saturday morning, I still had not heard from anyone so I called and was told that my appointment had been scheduled for some time between 1pm-3pm. I explained that the website provided a list of specific times for an appointment and that I chose noon for a reason. The person I was speaking to apologized and said that they would try to have someone out to my address sooner rather than later. At 12:45 I received a call stating that a technician was finishing a job about 20 minutes away from my house and should arrive at my address no later than 1:15. At 3pm I received another call stating that the technician was running behind and would be at my house about 4:30 pm. The technician arrived at 4:45pm as I was on my way out the door for another appointment that I had already postponed earlier in the day. The technician that arrived did do a thorough inspection and made some recommendations for work that were later confirmed by a different company. The estimate was about $1,000 higher than other companies for the same work. However, I work in a business where quality of work can be the difference in price, so I did not choose to use another company to construct my chimney because of price, but rather because of the quality of service before and after our cost estimate was conducted. Following the estimate, we have received six phone calls asking us if we would like to receive a discount on the quoted price by e-mail. Each time we have been told we will receive an e-mail within 24 hours with an updated quote. Each time we receive the call we tell them that they have already called several times and promised the same thing without sending anything to us. They apologize each time and promise to make a note of that in the system, but it is the same person calling every time and each time they state that they must have an incorrect email address. I tried to call to speak to the manager and have been told each time that he is out of the office but should return any minute and he will give me a call then. Nearly a month later, I have yet to receive a call from a manager or email, but I still get calls offering us a discount on our quoted price. This is supposed to be the Christmas season, but it feels like Groundhog day!

They were on time and called me beforehand to inform me they were on their way. They took off their shoes when they came into the house and vacuumed the floors after they completed the cleaning. They recommended I get a chimney lining. They informed me they run fireplace cleaning specials in the summer because it is off season. They did an excellent job.

My latest dealing with Priddy Clean was great. I made the appt. and Jose and his partner arrived on time and cleaned the chimney and cleaned up after themselves. Jose is a pro and very good with customer service, this is my second interaction with him and he is the guy you want interfacing with customers. Jose also gave me a quote for a furnace flue reline and relocating a dryer vent. I need to decide if I can afford to do it right now but the price seems reasonable.

We have an older house where the chimney is continuous with the side of the house and the brick is hard to match. It was important to us that the new masonry work matched the existing bricks/mortar. Priddy did a wonderful job in matching our bricks and adding decorative edging to the chimney which we requested. In fact, the new chimney not only matches the existing bricks/mortar, it looks better than the original. Our new chimney exemplifies their expertise and craftsmanship in masonry work. Throughout the whole process, the lead mason was very attentive in working closely with us on every detail and explaining the work. All of the Priddy office staff was very responsive to our questions. Furthermore, we have a slate roof and the crew needed to be careful in building the scaffold and working around the roof. Not one slate was broken. They cleaned up all of the debris. Lastly, Priddy's estimate for the work was very fair and reasonable. We would not hesitate to recommend them.

My neighbor had hired Priddy a few days before and was very pleased. I asked for an estimate and was satisfied with their offer. The team arrived on time and was very courteous and efficient. They were careful to cover all the furnishings in the room where the fireplace was located. Because there was at one point some spillover from the flue in the room, before leaving they cleaned and retouched the slight damage done to the white fireplace paint. When they left at the end of the day, the room was spotless, in spite of all the inside bricks that were removed from the flue I was very impressed by their hard work.

We just moved into a charming house in rural Maryland that needed some work. The fifty year old chimney was in sore need of repair. We used Angie's List to identify a contractor. Although we called several repair companies, Priddy Clean Chimney Sweeps was the only one that had time to provide an estimate. They came out the same day we called. The work started only a few days later and was completed in just three days. Priddy sent a crew of three. Alex Carranzaa was the foreman. The crew including Alex, Jose and Johnny was friendly, polite and provided very clear answers to all my question, along with suggestions to improve my home's value. The design for the rebuilt chimney was much nicer than the original. In fact it now looks a lot more authentic than when we first moved in. Alex and his crew are outstanding masons. The new chimney is perfectly square and the bricks which are brand new match the rest of the bricks on the house to a tee. They did a really nice job and made sure that we were satisfied.

The work was great. I can't tell there was ever a problem, they matched the grout that was on the house. It was a small job for them but it made a big difference to me. The bill was under the estimated price - a nice little surprise.
Description of Work: Our brick house had several cracks in the masonry. The gentleman who did the estimate took the time to educate me about the problem and what my choices were. I am selling the house so I didn't want to spend a lot of money.

All the performed work was done quickly and professionally. We are happy with the finished product. Priddy clean would have warranted an A had they given us the discount they stated in the contract. But they charged the pre-discounted price and have been unresponsive regarding this issue. I highly recommend the technician Fernando; did good work and was always prompt, courteous, and hard working. UPDATE: Upon contacting Priddy Clean one final time before disputing the transaction with my credit card, they refunded the "discount" offered. Further, they came back to finish the re-pointing on the exterior of the house that was not done the first time. While they did miss two spots that were grinded out and not re-filled with mortar, I am fairly pleased with their work. The manager came out and examined the work, agreeing with me the job needed to be finished. They spent another day grinding out old mortar and repointing. As I noted, they didn't refill all portions, but given the way the job was finished the first time, I am much happier with the work now. Priddy has strong management, implying they really care about their work. The laborers were always pleasant and willing to do the work - although it was required that I show them many places they failed to hit and areas that needed new work. But apart from that I am happy with the work performed.

I called to get an estimate. They charged a fee of $39 for the estimate, which is refundable if the work is performed. I already had another (lower) estimate and they matched it. Work began a few days later and was completed in one day. When I returned home to inspect the work there were many signs of sloppy workmanship. 1. The brick faces are the top were covered with mortar, not cleaned up before it dried 2. Sill support boards (under the window sill capping) were missing, so the bottom window capping was just a shell with no structure underneath. I called the company and they were very nice and agreed to send someone back in a few days. He arrived and tried to re-sell me, such as charging extra to replace the missing boards that they had removed. I told him no; so he said he would do me a "favor" and put the boards back at no charge. Ultimately, he did a great job of cleaning it all up and removing the mortar on the face of the upper line of bricks. The wood was replaced and the job is completed satisfactorily. At billing, they invoiced me for the full amount plus fuel charge, which was not mentioned previously as part of the quote or disclosed as a business practice. When I called them they removed the fuel charge.

In the past I have only had bad experiences with chimney companies (don't use High's Chimney Sweep!), so once I realized we had problems with the flues in our chimneys I was very worried I was going to have another bad experience. This time I used Angie's list and called Priddy. They came out, verified that there was a problem with the flue, and gave me a very good estimate. I had one other company provide an estimate over the phone and Priddy's was the best deal so we decided to go with it. Our chimney work was completed today and I have to say that their team did a fantastic job! The workers were very nice and polite the whole time, always informed me of what they were doing, and did excellent work relining all 4 of my flues. The team leader Jose Rivera was very nice and helpful, and they redeemed my feelings for chimney work. I will always stick with Priddy after this experience. I can't say enough good stuff about them, especially with all of the chimney crooks that are out there these days. Don't hesitate to use them, they really did a great job for me.

Work completed carefully and efficiently. Staff skilled, courteous, took great pains to keep area clean and cleaned thoroughly upon completion. Completed in one day. The masonry appears to be the work of a skilled craftsman. In spite of being very conscientious to keep dust and debris contained and removed, there was still some dust in the air. Not sure there is a way to avoid this. Those who require service in the future should keep area as closed off as possible and move or cover all items in the immediate vicinity. Fans only spread the dust during the process.

Superb service! We called them on a Monday afternoon and they said they'd be here between 8:00 & 10:00 am the following day. They arrived promptly @8:30 on Tuesday. They blew out all five vents and installed the bird guards in just over an hour. One of the bathroom vents had a large, active birds nest in it (the main reason we called them). There was a fair amount of bird poop on the louvers and on the siding beneath it. They removed the nest material completely and cleaned off the louvers and the siding before they installed the bird guards. They bagged up the old nesting material and hauled it away with them. They were prompt, professional, and did good quality work. We'll use them again when we need the dryer vent cleaned out next year.

They price that they charge is reasonable. They're actually a sort of a little bit of hiccup because we have 2 fireplaces didn't quite go the original way they expected it to. So, they ended up to do more work than they thought they would and they have kept it at the same price as the estimate.

I was scheduled at 10am and had let them know I needed to leave promptly at 11 to get to work. They didn't arrive until 10:40am. I happened to be on the phone (scheduling another estimate since I already didn't like this company because they were 40 min late for the estimate) and the woman who arrived wasn't able to wait for me to get off the phone. I let her know she was very late and she simply said, "I will just leave". I had called this same company for an estimate 3 years ago and had a very difference experience. The two men arrived with ladders and went on my roof to inspect my chimney. This time a woman arrived with a clip board and no ladder and I am not really sure how she could have accurately assessed my problem even if she had shown up on time.
Description of Work: I called Priddy Chimney for an estimate on a chimney cap. I explained both on my voice mail and email to them that I wanted someone to look at my chimney. There was presently a sheet metal cap placed on it (that shouldn't be there) and I needed that removed and a proper cap placed on it. I wanted them to go on my roof and look at the problem. I only received text message correspondences about scheduling the estimate. Personally, I find this to be really unprofessional but I know a lot of people do that now so it wasn't a complete turn off. They did, however, respond immediately and were really good about rescheduling the estimate when something came up on my end.

He arrived on time, was very knowledgeable about the service. He got right to work, checking the interior fireplace and then went to the roof to do an external assessment. He noted one minor repair within the chimney, which he did on the spot. He then put everything back in place and cleaned up the space around the fireplace. The best part was that he finished off with a brief lesson in fireplace safety which my 11 year old son also listened to. He gave us step by step instructions for building, starting and maintaining a good fire. He was extremely polite and patient and demonstrated a great deal of expertise/knowledge.

We had water damage causing bubbling plaster, but it was unclear where it was coming from. After having roofers redo the flashing, and masons out offering to repoint but unsure of the problem, Priddy came out and determined the issue right away. Our terra-cotta liner was failing and the boiler and water heater where creating condensation that was soaking into the chimney and then the wall. We also had them inspect our stone chimney which leaked occasionally. They determined it needed to be repointed from the second story up. We got the estimate the next day, and they started work the day after that. The crew was prompt, polite, and very careful to cleanup after themselves (both in the basement and in the yard). They had the brick chimney lined and new crown and cap in within 2 days, and the stone chimney repointed within another 2-3 days. After the work was done, the office called to make sure we were happy with the work, a very nice touch. Unfortunately, the next hard rain, we had more leaking in our stone chimney. The office was very quick to send someone out to inspect the work and do a water test. He determined the work they'd done was good and the cause of the leak was a crack in the crown and an ill fitting rain cap. We were very unhappy to hear that this had been missed twice, especially since we'd paid for 5 levels of scaffolding and a crew working right there! The employee said I'd have to take it up with the office, but I didn't have to. The office called that evening to apologize and to let us know they'd do the repair free of charge. They were true to their word, came out and fixed the crown, and we've been dry ever since. Overall, I was happy with the work, and VERY impressed with the people in Priddy's office. They were always available, friendly, and proactive.

Chimney Sweep, who barely spoke any English, came and cleaned my chimney. He said nothing to me about anything and collected the money. Then a day later, Mr. Priddy called me and said that his sweep had noticed problems with my liner (cracked) and other issues that was going to cost me thousands of dollars to repair. He put a very hard sell on me, and when I told him I would get another opinion, he started to lower his price. I had no confidence that what he was telling me was true...absolutely none. This is not the kind of businessman I will steer clear of. I had another chimney company in recently, and they saw no crack in my liner.

We are very sorry you felt that way! That was certainly not our intension, we have not been to your home since Jan 26th 2006. Jerry Priddy, the owner was following up and to talked to you about the work we had recommended years ago. He was trying to give you a better price if you were interested in using your fireplace. I live in your neighborhood and I know your chimney very well. Even if you choose to not use your fireplace, it is important to keep up on maintenance. Replacing the cracked Crown and Capping is what will keep the life of your chimney alot longer. If you are willing to give us another chance,I would like to come AND VIDEO SCAN the fireplace so you can see with a camera and flat screen the damage inside your fireplace. Thanks, Christina

I do not know how it went overall because the technician never bothered to talk to me or let me know he was on the property as he claimed he was.
Description of Work: Priddy Clean cold called me at my home looking for work and I decided to schedule to have our chimney inspected and maybe waterproofed Wednesday morning on February 27th. I was up around 7AM that morning expecting Priddy Clean to come out between 9 - 11AM. At approximately 10:30AM, I called Priddy Clean and asked when they would arrive to perform the waterproofing. I was then told by a "Sam" that somebody from Priddy Clean had already arrived and allegedly water proofed our chimney and that the bill was on the front door. "Sam" claimed that the technician was on my roof for 45 minutes. While somebody from Priddy Clean dropped a bill off at my door and may have gotten on my roof, nobody bothered to talk to me about the service that was allegedly being conducted. Further, the service manager "Ryan" claimed I was "sleeping" when the technician arrived which is not true. I was a bit upset after talking to "Sam" when "Ryan" called me back and threatened to "record the call". I asked him if it was professional for his technician to proceed with the alleged repair without talking to the home owner first and summarily place the bill for $209.35 on the front door. "Ryan" was emphatic that his technician performed the work and he became upset when I mentioned about writing about the whole experience on Angie's list. Other than his technician's word, I have no proof that the water proofing was actually conducted or what happened at all. Ryan did offer to reduce the price to $125 and I told him I would have to discuss that with my significant other for approval; however, he said the 10 year warranty on the alleged chimney water proofing would not be valid because he claimed that the technician said that the chimney needed brick repair and "Ryan" tried to begin to discuss repairs needed to the chimney. "Ryan" said that the alleged water proofing would only be "temporary". If this is true, I would have not had the chimney water proofed in the first place.

Response from Priddy Chimney Solutions
Customer contracted Priddy Clean to apply waterproofing on his chimney on February 27th between 9:00a and 11:00a. That morning our technician, arrived at the property as scheduled, he knocked on the door prior to performing the service and did not not receive an answer. Our tech went ahead and performed the waterproofing, as we were contracted to do. Upon completion of the service, he left a service ticket on customer's door. Customer contacted our office to confirm the appointment, at which point we communicated that we had already completed the service and that a ticket has been left on his door. customer claimed that we did not come, as he had been up since 7:00a and would have heard the door knocking. Dispatch contacted the service tech and acquired the details of customer's home, which Ryan communicated to customer as evidence that we had been to the property and performed the service. Details included the description of his home, such as the chimney, the antenna as well as the description of customer's dog who greeted the technician that morning. Customer, after confessing that we may have been at his home but he was in the basement and therefore did not hear us knocking, then continued to express doubt over the fact that we had applied the waterproofing to his chimney. Since the waterproofing is clear, to the eye the chimney would not appear any different. However, we advised customer to perform a water test which would prove without a doubt that we did in fact apply the waterproofing, as upon contact to the chimney's bricks, the water would bead and roll down the masonry fascia. Our technician performed a visual inspection of the chimney as he was applying the waterproofing and made notes of the masonry defects present. In an effort to work with customer, Ryan offered to discount the cost of the waterproofing, if customer wanted to address the underlying masonry issues in his chimney. Customer appeared pleased with the offer and that ended the communication. Overall, if Customer's complaint that we did not show up as scheduled, then that is an incorrect assertion as we 1) described his property and his dog as evidence that we were at the property and 2) customer's own acknowledgement of the ticket left at his property. if customer's complaint is that we did not perform the service, this too is an incorrect assertion as if he were to perform a simple water test than it would clearly prove that we did infact apply waterproofing to his chimney. Priddy Clean prides itself on customer service and we go through great lengths to ensure customer satisfaction. It is upsetting to us that customer would write such a review, which at it's core is full of falsehoods. I hope that upon reviewing our response to this matter, it is made clear that we did do as were contracted to do. The fact that the customer was unavailable when we knocked on the door was not a condition of whether or not the work we were contracted to do would be performed, as we had communicated to customer during the initial scheduling that this was an exterior service and he did not have to be home.

Two sweeps arrived on time and quickly and cleanly cleaned our most heavily used chimney. They provided some preventive maintenance tips and suggested some cracks to watch for future work. They also inspected two other chimneys for safety. No pressure to clean the others etc. Very positive experiance with Andrey who was the lead, was very professional and helpful.
Description of Work: Sweep one chimney.
