Description of Work: Our chimney needed to be relined. This required removing the old clay tile lining, inserting a stainless steel liner, and adding insulation between the new liner and the chimney. They also fixed the cracked crown on both chimneys. The two men worked steadily from 9am to about 4pm without taking lunch, did an excellent job, and kept our house clean

Description of Work: Swept two woodstove chimneys. Done quickly and left no mess. My concern is that they did not disconnect the stoves to sweep them so how did they clean up what they swept down the chimney? We have lit one stove and seems fine, though.

Description of Work: Re-point brick, re-pave porch with slate flagstone, build brick pillars. |They told me the job would take two weeks--I finally fired them after four months with the job still not done. There were weeks during the project when I called the main office every day to see where the crew was because they had not shown up as scheduled--I was told the crew was on other jobs. When my neighbors called 911 to complain about the dust and noise, their crew ran away from the police. I finally fired them when they made an unauthorized withdrawal from my credit card.

Mr. [Member Name Removed], Now this is a false rating. I am sorry you are upset that I called you for the balance$6,000. We finished the tuck pointing on the exterior side wall and front wall of tuck pointing on your home with in (3weeks) (4 RAINY DAYS). Which takes about (2weeks) setting up scaffold and and moving scaffold from side to front of home. Setting up around front porch and over front awing. We grinded out 80yr old mortar which is going to go into the air, a vaccum CAN'T control the dust , we put up tarps and protection but it is not preventable that there will be zero dust. When the neighbors called the police my guys did not run away!! My gentlemen didnt know what was going on, the police told them that they dont know who called. Police just came to inform them. Later, come to find out it was a guy 4 houses down that was upset cause he had washed and waxed his car that sunday prior and was upset that dust was on his black car. I quickly left Bethesda and drove down to DC and spoke to the neighbor and gave him $20 cash out of my pocket for him to take his car to the car wash. We completed 95% of the work, after point up was complete we fixed the slate that the prior contractor messed up on front porch, the home ower asked if we could fix his stairs also but didnt want to pay more, he tought it should be done for free. So we did repair his stairs and built (2) pillars cause he wanted to change the design of the railing at the last minute. Which he told us he wanted 24in pillars, then when the railing guy came he wanted pillars to be raised & a different design again and asked us to come back and raise the pillars. We came back and fixed the pillars again. Then all (3) met at his house to try to work out the design of the custom iron railings but he couldn't decide of the design so we were done with the project and only thing left was for him to work with Rodrigo to make choices of railing layout. We didnt try to collect any balance at that time cause ( Railings sill not Complete). However our contract state under payment arrangement on the 2nd,5th & 9th day that installments were due. No one ran your card with out your authorization, you signed the contract!! We had multiple meetings about the railings. No decision could be made. We reach out to him , 3rd call, I call him to see what he is going to do and find out the plan and he says he doesn't owe us money he had someone else finish the job. However, I drove by the next day(No railing) (No difference then when we finished) he is paying my Iron Contractor to do the work for him cause he realized what he wanted and what we had in the contract for railings wasn't going to cover the complex and detailed design he finally had chosen. Long Story Short, I didnt want to aruge with him so I told him I need to close this account and the amount he paid on a $19,000 contact was only $13,000. He said he wasn't going to pay anymore and that it over. So I cleared the account and told him I wish him the best and lets part ways nicely. When you & 4 others show up for a job site meeting, ring door bell, call cell phone , knock on door, were all waiting on front porch for 45 mins and client is looking out the window and won't come outside, then walks out and walks by everyone and says he has to go to class, cant talk and drives away!! Tell me what we should do or what we should have done ?? We tried to keep him happy, and the masonry tuck pointing, slate porch, brick pillars and front steps at 6415 8th Street, NW looks beautiful!! We do not deserve an "F" this is what you get for being overly nice!

We had it listed for brick work cause you have a hole in your basement wall and if it was a chimney inspection we would have came cause we can do from the exterior. Description of Work: FIRST THING THEY DID WAS TO SCRPE MY CHIMNEY CLEAN OF A THICK COVERING OF CLINGING VINES. I think that you caugh him of guard with the telephone review and we didnt benefit from it. We did work for him for a few years now. We did a beautiful walkway, Custom Brick Mailbox and Custom Masonry Arch over the rear chimney. The Chimneys that needs pointing are both the left and right chimney and are over 55-60 ft tall. We will need 10 sections of scaffold and it will take 4 days each chimney. I'm sorry he wasn't happy with the price ( FREE ESTIMATE) but he knows the detail we take to do the job correctly. We wish you the best!! We want the review to reflect the past work we did for him that has had him call us each year for a new project!!

Description of Work: Christina is a talented home inspector, and quickly identified the issue with our home - it was in-line with what another expert told me. She quickly adapted the services that I requested to those that I actually needed. Her crew came and sealed our foundation, replaced several layers of brick and mortar at the top of our chimney, and replaced the inadequate gutter system. These three improvements completely solved my basement leak issue. She was fantastic.
