Over was happy with the service though they found a crack in the prefab ceramic floor panel which wasnt very good, but not their fault of course. The estimate to fix it is $450 so I will probably shop around to see if I can get a better price.
Description of Work: Jose came and cleaned and inspected by the chimney and fireplace. (inspection and cleaning all occurred from the inside) Very clean process, no mess at the end.

Priddy Clean Chimney Sweep was a great service. They came on time, were very cautious about keeping my carpet clean and were done quickly. They found that part of my chimney needed repair, gave me an estimate for repair, were not pushy about fixing it, but told me the potential problems and followed up with information on repairing it via the mail. I will use them to do the repair before fire season!

Two hours before the appointment, I recieved a courtsey call from the office to inform me of the scheduling status of the work crew. I really appreciated this gesture. Primo and Vinny arrived on time and wasted no time getting to work. They were personable and professional. They clean the chimney sweep to allow them to inspect the liner. Within 30 minutes of their arrival, the cleaning and inspection was complete. Upon closing, I will definately use them to make the suggested repairs.

I contacted Priddy Chimney and two other vendors based upon Angies List reviews. Priddy was the most responsive and provided a quote at the same price as the others. They were available for the date I requested and showed up maybe 20-30 minutes late. That was fine because I was late myself and they waited for me and were nice about it. They provided the service noted above. There were two people, one who was more senior and clearly knew what he was doing, and a second person who assisted and followed instructions. Both were professional and went about doing the work quickly and cleanly. They were done in about one hour. OVERALL I was satisfied with the service and would recommend them to others. While I don't feel qualified to fairly assess the quality of their work (or any chimney cleaner), Priddy did the things right that I could verify, i.e., they scheduled when I needed them, they showed up on time, and they were professional while on site.
Description of Work: Provided a 'level 2' inspection and cleaning for a single chimney.

Initially, there was a scheduling glitch, but after we got over that, the workmen were very prompt and efficient. It was very apparent that they knew what they were doing and how it should be done. They answered all of my questions. It's great to see people who take pride in their work.
Description of Work: We needed a new boiler for our 100 year old house. Because the boiler vents into the chimney, the plumber said he would not replace the boiler until we had the chimney and flue inspected to make sure it was safe. We called Priddy and they promptly gave us an inspection date. The inspection verified the plumber's concerns: namely, that our flue was very old, crumbling and that we would need a steel liner. Further, they told us the chimney needed to be rebuilt from the roof up and it needed a better cap. After getting another inspection from a competitor that verified Priddy's diagnosis, we contracted with Priddy. I was pleased to get copies of their license and their insurance certificate by e-mail. It's one thing for a company to tell you that they are insured, but it is reassuring to see a copy. The workmen were very prompt. They dismantled the old chimney above the roof, installed a six-inch steel liner, connected it to the old boiler and the water heater, rebuilt the chimney and did a super job. The masonry looks excellent and the materials all seemed like good quality. They finished in one day even though they worked until 8:00. And yes, they cleaned up after themselves.

The technicians were originally scheduled for Thursday, but based on some developments earlier in the week, we had to reschedule for them to come on Friday instead of Thursday. Priddy was very accommodating of our request. The job itself went very well. The arrival window given to us was Friday 12-2. The technicians showed up shortly after 1 pm. They were done two and half hours later. They cleaned after themselves and left our house the way our house was when they came (less the dust from the ductwork and chimney, obviously). I was observing what they were doing and could clearly see the amount of dust they were able to dislodge from the ducts and collect in their vacuum. I'd estimate the volume to be about 1 - 1.5 gallons. (It was nowhere the amount one may see in newspaper advertisements). I was nonetheless surprised by the amount because we have an Aprilaire 2200 filter installed at the return air entry of our furnace, which I change twice a year. We bought the house in 2007 and do not know when the ducts were cleaned last (if ever); this was our first cleanup since we bought the house. The main result is that my wife's sneezing and running nose (she is allergic to pollen) have disappeared a few days after the cleanup. The technicians recommended we clean the ducts once every two years, and we will definitely consider hiring Priddy for the job again. I saw on the internet that hi-tech technicians use remote cameras to look into the ducts to make sure all dust is gone. It seems Priddy does not have the technology, and I feel relatively indifferent about it. Is it possible there still is some dust here and there in our ducts? I think it is possible; I cannot rule it out since I didn't see the interior of the ducts. Does it matter? It doesn't matter to us because my wife's problems are gone. And that was the main reason why we decided to spend the money for the cleanup in the first place.
Description of Work: Priddy cleaned the entire air ductwork in a single-family house, and one chimney. The ductwork included 19 air vents and two return vents. Two technicians took approximately 2.5 hours to accomplish the job. They used an air compressor and a large powerful "vacuum." They first attached the vacuum to the main air duct coming out of the furnace and used compressed air to dislodge the dust deposited inside each vent. They basically routed a pressure hose shooting compressed air into each of the air vents. As the dust got dislodged, the vacuum sucked it out of the system (the dust traveled in the opposite direction relative to the normal air flow in the ducts because normally the air goes from the furnace to the vents). They then attached the vacuum to the main return duct feeding the furnace and used the pressure hose to dislodge the dust in the return vents (this time, the dust traveled in the same direction as the normal air flow). They also vacuumed the chimney above our living room fire place. The fire place is gas-operated, so the chimney was relatively clean.

The two workers cleaned a metal dryer vent approximently 14 feet in length. Initially, one worker used a brush, coming from the outside vent all the way to the end of the metal vent. Then the other worker blew the lint outside. Afterward, he disconnected the entire metal vent (a horizontal 7 foot piece attached to a 7 foot vertircal piece) and took it outside to clean it again. Very thorough. He used metal tape and put everything back together again.

Had obtained four inspections and bids, two bids were higher for similar work, one bid was less but did not reline the chimney. Arrived on time for both the inspection and the work, and work was scheduled and performed very quickly after their bid was accepted. Completed work as planned that day and cleaned everything up.
Description of Work: Cleaned and relined gas fireplace chimney flu with stainless steel liner, reparged fireplace smoke chamber, relayed concrete crown on top of chimney, and sealed holes in the fireplace floor.
We called Priddy Clean to line our chimneys. When we bought the house, the inspector said they should be lined before we used the fireplace and to prevent condensation from getting into the furnace. The price was about what the house inspector said it would be. They even installed a new damper that closes at the top of the chimney. While doing this work, they discovered the floor of our fireplace was damp. They recommended we get a new firebox put in. I asked how much it would cost and their estimate was reasonable, especially for the amount of work they ended up doing. They had to hammer out the box, remove about 30 gallons of water from under the fireplace (apparently this house was built on a former swamp) and build a new box with a deeper foundation. I had a little hiccup with them as they were scheduled to come out on Christmas Eve. A 4" snowfall made the dispatcher call in all the trucks for the day. I called and asked to please reconsider as I was going out of town for the holiday and the next time they would be able to come back and finish the job would be after the new year. They relented and sent a truck out to finish. Overall, I'd use them again and recommend them to others.

It went well overall, though they did have a fuel charge on the final bile that wasn't quoted over the phone. The driver waived it since I had already written the check. I expected a bit more from the inspection. I have seen in-depth inspections with the use of a video camera in the stack. Priddy only inspected the flue door and fireplace liner.

First appointment to make a proposal for installation of a fireplace insert, they didn't show up. They did call and arranged for another appointment time on the weekend. The 2nd appointment was the day of a blizzard and, not surprisingly they did not show up, but it was disappointing that they did not call at all. Several days later I received a form letter stating that I needed 20 course of my chimney torn down and relaid. This was very disturbing because NO ONE EVER INSPECTED MY CHIMNEY OR EVEN ARRIVED AT MY HOUSE. I then received two phone calls from asking whether I would go ahead with the work they were recommending.

They did a quality job. They replaced my flue lining with a stainless steel flue pipe and attached chimney cap. They repaired some of the mortar around the chimney cap. They were fast and very prompt to respond and schedule. The only reason I gave them a B for price and professionalism is they originally quoted me $2900 and when I said I had already gotten a quote for $2100, the technician made a call and came down to $2100. It could have been an honest mistake, but it is definitely worth getting more than 1 quote. But overall they did a great job.

I am glad you are happy overall! Just so you know, The job cost for a Stainless Steel Liner that is 40 feet long, is $65 per foot. 40ft X $65per foot= $2,600. and quiet difficult to install, not including the concrete crown, flue extension and Cap. However, My tech did a good job by calling the Office to get approval to lower the price for you,to make you happy! Company Policy , He must get approval to sell a job below job cost! If he gave a Discount without getting approval then he would have been questioned about it when the invoice made it to the office! I believe we gave you a great deal for a job that should have been $2900. Overall, Now you have a SAFE working furnace flue, With a LIFETIME WARRANTY! Very important in the Winter Season! I was contacted promptly, estimate was in line with others, but MUCH less than Top Hat, whom I found to be rather pushy and overpriced in their assessment of the repairs. I had a few questions for the office about specifics of the process and city permitting which were promptly answered to my satisfaction. The repairmen arrived right on time and did their work efficiently and as quietly as possible . I was disappointed, however, to discover after they left that my brick hearth that is painted black, has 2 large patches of paint scraped away. I assume that is from not having thoroughly covered the area carefully when they were working. There was no other damage, and they were very careful to protect the floor and rugs in the area. My hope and expectation is that the company will come out and correct it ( stay tuned). If so, I would highly recommend them and use them again .

The original estimate from Priddy Clean was for installation of a new flue for our fireplace, redoing the masonry on top of the chimney (crown) and installing a stainless steel cap. Another company had provided an estimate of $3200 for doing the same work and, in addition, replacing the furnace flue. Because the original Priddy Clean estimate was for quite a bit less and they had a good recommendation from my neighbor, I went with them. Once they got started on the demolition of the cracked fireplace flue tiles, they reached the same conclusion as the other company - that we needed a new flue (liner) for our furnace as well. I think they were being honest with me. The price they quoted for adding on this additional work was well above the other company's estimate but after I showed them the other estimate we agreed on $3210. I was very pleased with the work, punctuality, and professionalism. They even repaired a crack on our front steps using some left over mortar.
Description of Work: Replaced both fireplace flue and furnace flue (by adding a liner), did masonry work on the top of the chimney (replaced crown), and added a stainless steel cap.
