Priddy Chimney Solutions

What was discovered was that the chimney had been damaged by the earthquake that had hit our area a few years ago, and due to the age of the home, this resulted in the large crack down the center of the chimney. Second, the cap of the chimney had much damage which they showed to us with a number of photographs that were taken at the assessment and shown to us on the spot. The entire cap needed to be fixed and reinforced. Last, when they did an scope up the center of the chimney was that the lining needed to be replaced, which is the most important piece to protect the home from carbon monoxide poising. We agreed with there assessment and proceeded with scheduling the work. The repairs took 2 days to complete and we were very pleased with the work that they had completed and how they cared for our home and how they cleaned up after themselves. They replaced the cap and reinforced the mortar. They removed a number of bricks and replaced, re-pointed and fixed the crack and then relined the chimney. The job itself was more than we wanted to spend, but due to the extend of the damage to the chimney, we thought the price was fair. We had received 2 other estimates that were higher than what Priddy Clean quoted us.

The job is not yet finished. It was estimated to be a 2 week job, it has now been 2 months. They demo-ed the old cabinets and installed new cabinets and I have noticed that the cabinets are terribly misaligned and were not hung correctly. The painting is still not finished. We have a functional kitchen, but I just don't feel like we are ever getting the full concentration from the crew. They will come by and do a little bit of work and then leave with little progress. They promised us that the project would be finished by November 6th and now I have no confidence at this point that they are going to complete this project. We are very disappointed. Since my initial report, I've spoken to Christina and we're now starting to make good progress and hope to wrap up everything very soon. The only reason I will use Priddy Clean again is because of Christina - she is truly a professional. She has taken full ownership of the problems and we are working to resolve the issues. We have worked with Christina before and we were very pleased with the work that they have done it the past which included a total kitchen remodeling job.

They do excellent chimney work but I would look around more. I would not use them again for duct work.

I was experiencing minor water leakage into my fireplace a couple of times a year during very heavy rains. There were apparently several potential causes. I had received a proposal from another chimney repair company proposing to address all potential causes, for $2500. Priddy Clean's estimator identified what he thought were the most likely causes, and proposed addressing those first, for about $400. If that worked, great. If not, they would address other potential causes. So, I went with them. In the end, it appears that their repairs worked, having survived the deluge of early October with no leakage. However... Priddy appears to have some internal communication and administration problems. Although the original estimate detailed 3 tasks (relay crown, waterproof, recaulk), the repair technician's work order specified resealing the rooftop flashing rather than recaulking between the chimney and siding, for a slightly higher price. I had to call them to come back to affect the correct (and originally estimated) repairs, which they did. Then, when they called to ask for credit card payment, they still had the wrong tasks and the wrong price. Eventually, they mailed an invoice, again with the wrong tasks but with the originally quoted price. Bottom line: it appears that the diagnosis was correct and the repairs seem to have alleviated the problem, albeit after only 3 weeks and 1 heavy rain. So, I can recommend them, with the caveat that you pay close attention to assure that they actually do what was quoted and bill the correct price.

I have used Priddy Clean in the past - they did some work on our chimney in 2013 and did an excellent job. This time I had them clean the two fireplaces in our home. The technicians were professional and polite. However, I was unhappy with several things about my most recent experience with the company, mostly the customer service end of things (not the technicians): (a) someone called and said that the technicians were on their way; I said I had to take my child to camp and would be back in five minutes; they said fine. I left a note on the door saying I would be back in five minutes. Apparently that message never got to the technicians, and they did not look at my note. They arrived, I wasn't there, so they left to do another job and didn't come back until later in the day. Frustrating. (b) I was charged $338 for the cleaning which took roughly 30 minutes. This seemed a little steep, especially for a return customer and for one of the two fireplaces that was used once last winter. I called the company, and they agreed to refund me $30, which I appreciated. I have called three times and have never seen the check. They also told me that there was some additional work that needed to be done on the chimney ($1600 worth of work). I called to ask if they would send me the pictures. No pictures. I called a second and maybe even a third time. Finally got the pictures. Ultimately I decided to have a different company do the work. I just didn't want to give business to a company where I felt that I had to go through a lot of "hassle" to have my voice heard.

Well I must say that I am totally happy with the work performed fixing some cracking in my foundation. The work was neatly and professionally done at a fair and reasonable price for what needed fixing. I really like the fact that they are very honest and provide up front a copy of their license, and Insurance information. I will definitely use this company for all of my remodeling and home repair needs. In fact I will be calling them to come out very soon to give me an estimate on a whole Basement/Bathroom job in our new home. I plan on hiring them for this job because I feel comfortable that they will do a great job.

They did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend anyone in the area take a look at them. I was having issues with the damper after their first appointment but they came back out for a check up and reworked the damper for a very reasonable rate.

I've never ever had a problem with these guys. Even on the occasion when they made a mistake they sent someone out immediately to remedy the situation ASAP and did not charge me for the follow-up service. They may be slightly more pricey than the alternative but you definitely get what you pay for.

They were very prompt with the first visit and consult. They were very thorough. They were very polite and explained the problems and what needed to be done. The scheduled date came and we had to postpone due to really bad wet weather - they didn't want to fall off of a 2 story roof - good plan! The rescheduled date came. They were on time, did the work - most of the days worth. They clean-up all of their mess except for one rather large piece. The work was done well and the crew was extremely respectful and courteous! We did have some issues with discussions about the extra huge piece that is supposed to go on top of the chimney but not on ours but then why was it there.... It was kind of irritating but it's over and we sold the house and.... whatever....

Called firm and made an appt for the next day. Came and assessed problem. Showed me pictures of situation on roof. Would have fixed right away but it was threatening rain. Made appt for later in the week. It rained that day, too, so they came the next day and did the repair. Showed me photos of the completed work. When the next rain came there were no leaks.

They were pretty good. They came out with a chap who really cleaned out our chimney very well. Their price was good.

The technician came on time and looked around the fireplace and chimney. They diagnosed the leaking problem and let me know the estimate for fixing. He showed me photos and answered every question I asked, kind and professionally. It was nice experience.

We're bringing them back in an annual basis. They were prompt, they got here when they said they will get here, which is always important for me. They did the work properly and very well.

It went so smoothly that I scarcely recall any details except I was glad it was done!

It was a little high-end but he did a good job. The price was high.

The work was done well, they were very clean and tidy. My only complaint would be with the scheduler in the office. The crew that came to give the estimate and did the work, said it was a two day job; however the office/scheduler said it was a 1 day job. Needless to say it was a two day job and so we had to re-schedule for the crew to come back another day.

They were good, on time, and they clearly stated the issues that needed to be resolved. They were clean and respectful.

Dryer vent: they identified the stack on the roof which was for the dryer. They then removed the 5-10 pounds of lint from the vent. Steps: they removed all the loose brick, keeping them in order. They then mixed up new mortar and re-installed the stoop. It has held upwonderfully in the snow and ice.

Finally showed up (late) for an appointment but had their own idea about what should be done - irrespective of what I wanted. Estimate provided was exorbitant. I would never recommend this company.

Provider arrived on time, was careful with cleaning equip., and put abrasive brushes up and down in the chimney to thoroughly clean. A drop cloth was used to keep everything clean. They exited with out any mess.

Great. I had originally contacted another top-rated chimney sweep company that stood me up, so I placed a request through homeadvisor and Priddy Clean contacted me within 10 minutes and was available to come the next day AND they offered me a promotional price. They arrived on time (in fact, a wee early but I'm sure they would have waited until service time if I hadn't been home) and cleaned and inspected my firebox and chimney. They charged me the promotional price, no attempt to upsell me with more work or more expensive work, cleaned up, and left. No drama, just got the work done.

.The estimator was very professional and knowledgeable. He spotted problems other estimators had missed. Their price was very close to best but we went with the other company as much for schedule and price.

We had Priddy Clean come out in 2013 to repair the cap and mortar on our chimney. They were really responsive to our request for an estimate, and once we evaluated three estimates, we called them and scheduled something fairly quickly. The cost of the initial repair- I don't recall. They did a wonderful job - hardly any mess was left after they cleaned up. Our chimney stack looks really nice now and is protected from the wind/rain. During the initial repair, the mason took a picture for us of the work completed, and mentioned a crack inside the chimney- which he also showed us a picture of. Since then we've know it was not safe to have fires in our fireplace, thanks to them! We called them back out recently to investigate a possible blockage in our appliance chimney. They scheduled something really quickly and we were pleased with the work they did. They identified the problem we were having and the inspection itself was only $57. The inspection revealed another safety hazard created by our plumber. We've since had our plumber back out to fix the blockage and our appliances are exhausting properly now. Another "Save" by Priddy Clean! We are putting the fireplace repair on our list of to-do's for this year- and we will be using Priddy Clean.
