Priddy Chimney Solutions

Six weeks after this service was supposedly performed, another firm came out to install a top damper. He showed me the inside of the chimney with a fiber optic camera. There was not only dirt and creosote but webs and nests that indicated that the chimney had not been cleaned at all.

They are good. They are courteous and on time. I just feel very comfortable with them and they do excellent work.

My contractor, an awesome company (see separate review), hired Priddy to clean the ducts after a large storm damage remodel. Priddy's crew arrived much earlier than scheduled and left debris around the ducts. Even more annoying, however, is Priddy's attempts to (1) collect from me, even though they were a sub our contractor hired; and (2) collect more than the agreed-upon price for the work. If it were a month or two outside the job and Priddy had not been paid, I'd understand the collection efforts. However, we're talking about a few days over Christmas and they are harassing me when I did not hire them. I've asked them to stop contacting me and they will not.

Ms. Christina oversaw the job. She made sure everything was done thoroughly and correctly. She was very patient with me and courteous. Everything was done very neat and accurate. They were very professional and knew exactly what they were doing. They did a marvelous job and were very reasonable. I was very happy. I would recommend them to anyone!

They were very thorough with the cleaning and they suggested repairs for the chimney. They provided a quote, but did not recommend a payment plan. The quote was on the cleaning receipt. Overall very happy with the service. After a friend recommended them, we followed up to verify it on Angie's List. Thank you!

Priddy came and was very professional with their estimate. They were knowledgeable and thorough--going up on the roof to inspect the chimney carefully as well as checking in the basement at the base of the chimney. They came when they said they would, and the job took the amount of time that they said it would. We had a concern about the hot water heater exhaust about 2 months afterwards, and they came promptly to check it out and reassure us that nothing was wrong.

iddy clean cleaned and inspected our chimmey on November 19 and discovered a number of problems. They returned on November 23 and replaced the crown, pointed a numbe of mortor joints and repaired the flashing. All the work was done in reasonable period of time and price.

It was the first time I had used them. They did a lot of work and did a great job. I felt like the price was fair. The guys were very clean and did the work in a timely manner. It took about 3 days to complete since it was such a big job.

.They do what they say they are going to do and they don't just make recommendations to pad the service ticket. You can trust them!

We called Priddy Clean Chimney for an estimate on completely relining our chimney and putting a new damper. They promptly sent us a three page estimate via mail which explained in detail what they planned to do with our chimney. After we decided to go with them, they arrived on schedule and completed the entire job in one day! Was very happy with their service and professionalism. Now, about a year later, we did have leaking from the Superstorm Sandy that occured in our fireplace. When we called them back, they said that it was still under warranty and that they would send someone out on Wednesday (it is Monday) to take a look.

Christina El-Haig is the operations manager and she is absolutely great. She is polite, courteous, and went out of her way to answer questions. She sent out a technician in a very busy time before the storm to give us advice and do an inspection. We will definitely be using their services again.

We had an appointment for Saturday from 2PM to 4PM. No one showed up and I received no call. About half an hour after the scheduled appointment time, I called the Priddy Clean office. I was told the office was closing up, but the technician sent out should give me a call to let me know the status. I received no call. The Monday after the appointment was to occur, I called to see what happened, just to see if there was some excusable circumstance. The person on the phone didn't know what happened and eventually I was told the truck was leaking oil, therefore they couldn't come. If this is true, I'm not sure why I couldn't have received a phone call letting me know this. Also, two days went by after the no-show appointment and they still didn't contact me. I had to contact them. Keep in mind I am only rating them on responsiveness and punctuality. I cannot attest to their work because I am using someone else because there are many to choose from and just like a job interview, if you don't even show-up, you will not be considered for the job.

Since we purchased our house we have never really been able to use the fireplace as we ended up with a burning sensation in our eyes and it left a bad smoke odor in the house. During a chimney cleaning that we purchased on groupon, we had the Priddy team look at it and give us their opinion. Josue showed us where our chimney had been built with a sharp double curve that was causing smoke and gases to build up in the fire chamber and eventually backflow into the house. After doing some research online about how chimney's shoud be designed I was able to confirm that his theory made sense. He suggested that we have install a new chimney lining with a chimney top flue and cap. This would take out the double curve and allow a good flow of air. He provided an estimate of $1600 to do this work. He explained that most likely they would need to remove some bricks from the back of the firechamber to be able to access the chimney from the outside which would allow them to remove the old tile liner. On the day of the work he came back with one helper. After a more indepth review of the chimney he decided that he could remove the old liner from the top and avoid removing the bricks. Although more difficult, this method would avoid the issue of possibly having bricks that did not match in color with the existing brick and would be more aesthetically appealing. I know that he spent a significant amount of time removing old liner and inserting the new liner but the end result came out looking great. Josue and his helper did an excellent job cleaning up both inside and out and left no trace of their work behind. With the warm spring that we had I was not able to really test the fireplace until last weekend. We were able to get a fire going quickly and did not have any unwanted odors, even after burning a fire two nights in a row. In fact, I still need to clean the fireplace from the fires and still do not have any odors in the house. We are extremely satisfied with the work that Josue and Priddy did and highly recommend them for any fireplace related work.

Once they arrived, the workers were informative, worked fast and did a good job.

I was surprised that Priddy Clean Chimney still had me in their system from 10 years ago. They came out the same day that I called even though it was raining like crazy. Jose inspected the furnace room and then went out on the roof to assess what was needed and provided me with an estimate for services. I told them that I wanted to get some other estimates, which I did. Priddy Clean called me back in a couple of days to learn of my progress and offered me a $250.00 discount if I would agree to use their company. I did. They came out in three days time and completed the work. They were on time for the scheduled appointment and completed everything in about five hours. They even installed an additional cap on the other chimney to keep out animals and leafs even though it was not in the contract and they did not charge me for it. Alex and Worrell answered any and all questions. Exceptional service and a good crew on site!

I received a call at 9am where I was told that they had to cancel because two people did not show up for work. They apologized but this is unacceptable as I had to move my schedule around to accomodate them as they do not do evening appointments. When I asked why no evening appointments they explained it is too dark? Both fireplaces are inside the home and there is plenty of light. I will not be using this firm at any time again.

I had used Priddy several times before. I contracted them to make repairs to chimney as part of a sale agreement., based on their estimate. I was assured the estimate was good and that the chimney would be made safe. Because the buyers of the property wanted to settle earlier that originally planned., Priddy's work was performed after settlement. Funds were escrowed to pay Priddy upon the satisfactory completion of work. When Priddy arrived to perform work, they informed the new buyer that another $1,000 worth of work would be needed to make the chimney safe. Their brick mason told the new owner that if the work was done as estimated, that it would only last seven months. I was forced to pay an additional $1,000 on top of what was already escrowed by the settlement company at settlement.

I called around to several highly rated companies to get a quote for this work. Priddy Clean was the most responsive and didn't seem thrown by the request to patch the exterior wall. Priddy Clean suggested just cutting out the spalled bricks and replacing the crown to keep the damage from reoccurring. All the other companies wanted to rebuild the chimney. I was concerned that Priddy Clean could end up in the middle of the repair and realize they needed to do the chimney rebuild too. When I asked them about it, they quoted me the price of the chimney rebuild if they needed to do it. The new quote was inline with the other companies. I decided to go with Priddy Clean because they were so responsive to my questions. I talked to them Wed evening to authorize the work. The next day they came to get samples to match the brick and mortar. The did all the repair work on Friday. They cleaned up after themselves very nicely. They ended up only needing to cut out the damaged bricks, that way a real money saver. I appreciate them doing only the work needed, not the most expensive option.

I called Priddy Clean in the morning, and they came out in the early afternoon to clean and inspect the chimney. They were efficient and clean (as the name describes). For the quality of work they did, I think the price was worth it.

The service was fine. They weren't really prepared for the work or the zigs and zags that the flue took. They had to use a demolition device to replace the old liner with the new one. It was more work than expected and I wish they would have taken a better look to begin with. They gave an estimate for the fireplace flue but we decided to hold off on that project.

I have no qualms about working with them. They found alot of problems my home inspector did not find. I'm disappointed with my fireplaces and chimneys but not their work and assistance.

The home was vacant. I assume Priddy Clean entered the property to sweep the chimney; no evidence was left of their visit, not even a business card. About 10 days later I received an email outlining a $2,150 service estimate. When I called to ask how bad the problem was, a service manager promised to interview the technician and get back to me. This did not occur. Eventually Priddy Clean called to ask for payment of the inspection fee, which I paid. I did ask the service manager once again to relay the technician's findings. Specifically I wanted to know the severity of the problem and how long I could wait. I never did hear anything from the service manager. Priddy Clean does mail out an elaborate sales letter that talks about chimney problems in general but does not talk about this one in particular. All I have ever wanted is a copy of the technician's written remarks or someone who could answer specific questions about the chimney. What I got was merely a boilerplate sales pitch stored on someone's word processor. Priddy Clean seems to operate on the basis of "Buy from us because we tell you what you we want to sell." I have never encountered a firm that goes to such great lengths to ignore customer requests for information. So the question becomes "Does the chimney really need $2,150 worth of service?"
