Pella Windows and Doors – KC Company Inc

The provider wasted my time, was appallingly rude and useless. Do NOT bother driving out to the country for these awful "representatives." Pella you're an embarrassment.

I thought the sales person was very good and their pricing was competitive on the first shot. We ended up not using them because a competitor had a better window at a slightly higher price that we went with.

The project went quite well. It was a difficult job and the crew completed it efficiently and without leaving any mess behind. I did notice some scratches on the window a few days later, and Pella sent another crew to inspect and clean the window. It was determined that the scratches were not deep and were merely scuff marks, and another crew applied a polish to the window. Most of the scratches were removed with the polish method and Pella will return with a special buffer. I would definitely recommend Pella to others. They have incredible customer service and their project supervisors and technicians treat your project as if it were taking place in their own homes. This is the second time we have used KC Pella for a large project and we are quite pleased. Our last project was a front door installation, which was rather complicated. We had a single door with sidelights removed and it was replaced by a double door with a transom.

The crew arrived on the agreed-upon date and time. They set up the work-site to minimize noise and mess, including taping a plastic sheet on the inside ceiling, facing the living space, to hold in warm air, given the season. In addition to ripping out the existing doors and installing the new ones, they replaced and painted the surrounding molding to match the existing molding in the room. All waste was hauled away when they left that day. All dealings with all staff & workers was pleasant & professional. Everyone seemed well trained. Since then, the doors--both glass & screen--have worked great, both mechanically and, apparently, in filtering UV rays. The room looks so much better!

I wanted to replace all the windows in my 1923 Craftsman style home, so set up an appointment. Peter was my rep, and he was very professional throughout the process. He gave me some great advice and was very patient with my many, many questions. The windows were delivered right on time and in good condition. I would definitely use them again.

I used this company 3 different times. They installed 2 sliding glass doors and 2 replacement windows. | |The installations and quality of the product were exceptional. My only complaints are that they are very expensive (I didn't not consider them for my latest project because of that) and post-installation service was poor. The service had improved the last time I used them but was still less than I expect for the price of the product.

The installers were very good and the Pella windows are high quality, but the service (or rather lack thereof) from the front office is horrible. Before we began the project, there was an issue with scheduling and I had to threaten to cancel the entire project before I got a response. Now that the windows are in there is a short punch list -- replacement of a track for the screen on a door and painting some replacement siding -- and I have not heard from them desipte repeated emails and phone calls.

The Pella team was on time and did what appear edit o be a good job installing the windows. Unfortunately, Pella has been back at least 7 times to attempt to rid the windows do air leaks. When it's cold outside, you can actually feel air coming in from around the windows, and if the curtains are closed, you can watch them move. Looking back, I was attracted to Pella for their real wood window product. However, I'm disappointed they aren't up yo the task of keeping Mother Nature out of my house especially when it's cold. I should have gone with Renewal by Anderson's replacement window product which I did use on another window in the front section of the house. That window is solid and seals outside air out entirely.

There were many workmen on the project and they finished in two days- with all the windows being installed on the first day and all the trim and cleanup completed on the second day. We are delighted with the windows- even more than we anticipated. The work was accomplished efficiently and the crew left everything in order with the new windows sparkling clean before they left. The exterior finishing is very nicely done. We did not expect to feel a difference, but after the weather turned cool and we had to turn on our heat, my husband and I both noticed that we feel warmer in the house- probably due to the fact of having no drafts now. We cannot imagine how this project could have gone better.

After buying the two windows from Pella, with expert assistance from James May, we actually called on other companies to see if we could get the installation cheaper. We received three other estimates, all of which were higher or less complete. After many emails to Mr. May, to all of which he responded quickly and patiently, we finally accepted Pella's bid to install and scheduled the work. The team of Jim and Tim did an excellent job of installing both windows, putting in a header for the new window and reducing and squaring the opening for the larger window. Then they reused and reconfigured the siding they had removed to cover the outside. That was an important job because we didn't want to reside the whole back of the house and we didn't have extra siding. They were methodical and neat and fast, as well as polite and friendly. I love the new windows in the kitchen. We hope to have more windows installed by this company in the future.

The rep Brian Anger was awesome. He was patient with all of our questions and slow decision-making. When we were out of town but needed to see samples, he called a local Pella store to make sure someone would take care of us there. The install was tremendous. The crew was meticulous and installed all the new windows in 3 days. They had to rip out old metal frames and the finished product is beautiful. We used the Proline for all but our unusual sized windows. We used Pella over 10 years ago on our other home and are even happier with the newer line. We will call Brian when we replace the porch windows next year.

The how is the best part. A team of four arrived on time, They were professional, pleasant, efficient, hard-working and could not have been better representatives for Pella. One point I want to make. The reason we chose Pella after multiple presentations was they showed us their products, gave us the cost and left. The others showed us their products, gave us a much higher cost and left. Some tried to close the deal even though we told them up front that we were not going to make a decision that day. Competitors began lowering their prices for one reason or another, finally arriving at the same general level as Pella. We decided that it made more sense to go with the company that was most straight forward with us. I'm glad we did.

Shortly after installation, the lock and strikes on my windows began to wear, depostiing metal on the windows. In some instances the screws of the strikes have been pulled out of the window and I have had to repair them. The strikes are disfigured and have a blackened appearance. The metal deposited on the windows has also caused the windows to have an ugly blackened appearance when opened. Shortly after the original installation, I met with a KC Pella representative in my home. I told him that the windows were not lining up properly, that the lock and strikes were not closing properly, and that the locks and strikes were wearing down. I asked him about repairing or replacing the windows and/or locks. He assured me that this was a temporary issue, that the windows would shrink, and the problem would correct itself. On the basis of these representations, I decided to wait to see what would happen. Contrary to the representations of the company's representative, the issue got worse. Fast forward several years, and KC Pella company has refused to cover the cost of replacement parts or installation of new locks and strikes, even though the lock and strikes are under warranty. Now, according to the company, this type of wear is "normal." If this type of wear is normal, you should buy another brand of windows.

I would give it a 9 out of 10. The product seems good, they did a good job, and completed the job in the time they were supposed to. They had a good deal of 2 years no interest as well. Some of the windows don't seem too fit as well and are hard to lock, but they did a good job.

The crew is very punctual, professional and the sales man was very professional. He wasn't a high pressure sales man like we had with through other window companies.

They sent us too many follow up emails and too many follow up calls. The service was fine though.

Everything went great...just realize that there is a long lead time (8weeks) to order replacement windows.

The purchase and installation went well. Paul Spence, the sales representative was recommended to me by a neighbor. He was everything she had said he was - timely, professional, pleasant. He presented several options, some less and some more expensive than the doors that I ended up chosing. He was very thorough and explained the pros and cons of what I wanted to have done as well as advising on locks and paint choices. Installation took a day. The installers were timely, professional and clean. They removed the old doors from the frames taking care not to damage the custom shutters that were on the doors, and stacked them in the garage for shutter removal and reinstallation by the original shutter provider. They took great pains to ensure that the work areas were in good condition when they left. They also ensured that the new locks and keys worked. Prior to contracting with Pella I had tried another major door and window provider. Besides being more expensive than Pella, that provider seemed to have multiple hoops that one had to jump through in order to get a quote. When I decide to replace my windows, I will return to Pella.

Our experience was first rate, from the in-home planning sessions with the sales rep to the day-to-day installation. The product speaks for itself. The customer service was stellar. The handling between sales and the installer was seamless. We'll be returning to Pella for some door replacements in the future.

Stephen Myers came out for the estimate and provided a detailed estimate within 2 days. Much faster than any of the other companies with whom we were getting estimates. Their price was fair and in line with other estimates for a similar product (fiberglass, double pane, gas). Stephen always responded quickly to my follow up questions and was very knowledgable and able to answer all my questions. The only reason we didn't go with Pella was that we made a decision to go with a company who had done work on a home similar to ours with good results. Since ours is a very modern style and windows make up a large portion of our home, we were more comfortable going with a company whose work we saw in person on a very similar job site. I would recommend Pella to anyone as their product line and customer service is excellent.

kc was very prompt and professional with the estimate, the measuring and the installation. the installation was handled very professionally and as i said, when they were done you would never know 2 windows and 2 doors were ripped out and replaced. all trash and debris was collected and hauled away and the windows and doors were all re-trimmed and finished beautifully. they did all the work in a single day and i am very happy with the results.

The work generally went without a hitch. The installers were on time. They removed the existing door and had the new door in place quickly. I'd rate the quality of the door and materials as very good and the trim and caulking was near perfect. BUT... the door never really closed well without rubbing a bit. KC sent someone out a month or so later in response to my complaint. The guy shaved off wood under the hinges and beat the heck out of the frame with a mallet. He told me that the door didn't close well because of the new weather strippingthe weather stripping and that it had to "wear in". Now, a year later, the door is rubbing again. It's worse in warmer weather. I'm debating on calling KC up again and asking them to come out to fix it. Bottom line... for a $8800 door, it should close perfectly the first time and not need periodic adjustment. I'll keep you posted on their response. (Note: install date is approximate within a month or so)

It turned out very well. They were very efficient. Everything that was projected was the way the job was completed. We are very satisfied with the product.

We were quite satisfied. First, they replaced 9 windows, and then two or three months later, completed a second 9. They were very helpful and knowledgeable when we asked questions. They did a good job overall!
