Except for the appalling sales staff and the very dubious and arrogant so called "Sales" price, the work crew was very, very competent. They were at the site early with four trucks and crew, a full complement of tools - a chop saw with a long extension table, a table saw on a stand, generators, air compressor, etc, et al. So many vendors show up with cobbled together junk - they did not. This was an exceptionally experienced install team. English however was an exotic language that was not in their skill set.

Overall good-to-excellent. Minor issues that were dealt with promptly. Three disappointments - no touch-up paint left; a member of the work crew used a handle on my fireplace glass doors as a step, bending it beyond repair. Unfortunately noticed the damage after final payment made. And had two sliding glass doors replaced....they were the same all through the quoting process (except for options) only to have one changed to a builder quality slider....and did not pick up on the change....not happy about that (them and me).

Went well. Finished on time. I do recommend to verify yourself whether you need a permit or not.

Terrible. Many broken promises to get us an estimate. Came on a Tuesday, promised an estimate in 2 days. Passed us off to another salesperson due to us possibly using an outside contractor to install the windows. She promised the estimate by Friday morning at the latest. Left message Friday afternoon, returned call Monday morning and promised by end of the morning to have estimate. Messages next 3 days ignored, left message for other salesperson, then sales supervisor, and finally COO. Received a call back the following week in response to the message for the COO. Received estimate the next day, and not only was it not for the correct number of windows, it was unclear whether it included installation or not (we asked for estimates both of installed by KC or installed by our contractor). Just sent a response to the company expressing our displeasure with this process and informing them that we are using another window contractor (just signed contract this afternoon so once windows come and are installed, will post review of experience with that contractor, but so far, so good with them).

Very impressive outfit! Sales rep Dave Macauley visited the house and talked about various options and pricing. Courteous and professional. Explained everything in detail and answered all questions. Followed up right away with a proposal. A technician followed up with another visit to measure everything carefully and explain the decisions that would need to be made regarding placement of cranks for awning windows. Again courteous and professional. Rita in the office was patient and cordial as we tried to find a substitute date for the original installation time frame (due to tropical storm approaching). On the day of installation, the crew arrived an hour early (fine for us, but felt a little bad for the neighbors at 7 am with all of the commotion). Mr. Huang led the team and was extremely good. He took pride in his work "We are Pella installers." Kept everything moving along and answered all of our questions. Team was mindful of flowers outside and keeping things clean inside. Overall, I think they did a good job. I was somewhat concerned about the window screens which I did not think fit sufficiently tightly and they worked an extra hour until the issue seem to be resolved.

Their delivery truck was a little late because it broke down but the installation people were very professional and did a great job. I would recommend them.

The salesman came and measured the windows and doors. After that a second person came and measured a again. They gave an estimated time the windows would be in and they were here 2wks earlier. They are pella windows and they are tight fitting and keep outside noise out. They cleaned up after themselves and I am very pleased.

Stopped by showroom. Liked the fact that there was one person for replacements, one person for new windows, etc. It was organized and easy, as a consumer, to understand the different options. A few back & forths, via email, got us to our final order. The company sent someone out to measure and 5 weeks later, our windows were installed. The install crew was very courteous and professional. They had to work around a separate work crew that was redoing our driveway and retaining walls. A lot of attention to detail.

I cannot say enough good things about KC Company. Everyone at the company from the sales representative to the office staff to the installation crew was highly professional, punctual, flexible, helpful, responsive, and skilled. The quality of the work was unbelievable. We were informed of the time line and the process from the very beginning, and we there were no surprises. The installation crew was careful, respected our home, and cleaned up everything afterwards. While Pella windows are more expensive than most, we wanted a high quality, wood window and we are not disappointed. The only issue we had was that the installation crew made a small error and added handles we did not want. In the end it was fine, but we suggest talking through your order with the installation crew before or staying during the process.

KC called and rescheduled the work for five days earlier than originally planned, which suited us just fine. They came exactly when scheduled, performed the work in two long days, and then came for a few final hours to do final touch up. They were meticulously clean, left excellent directions, and did all the work that they contracted for.

The bay window looks gorgeous! Their prices were very high but, their quality was also very high. The quality of their windows would be an A. I thought their sales guys were very good too & very professional. We did buy Pella windows again for the rest of the house.

We called them because they carried the Pella windows. They did a very good job. There was a minor problem during the course of the work. We called and they came out immediately and took care of the matter. They have good customer service.

The windows look perfect and even though the first set that was installed had some chips and inconsistencies in them, this company sticks by both its guarantees and its workmanship. They came right out and replaced them free of charge. We were very happy with their support and the sheer quality of the work they hold themselves responsible to. We will use them again and recommend them to others.

They did an excellent job and our windows look great! They answered all our questions and did a very good clean up. The new windows are energy efficient and they are a lot easier to clean.

We picked the features (shades inside the door for privacy), the hardware color, the door details, the trim, the stain for the wood (interior) and the color of the siding outside and the type of glass. The factory made the door to our specifications and it was delivered and installed. There was a small dent in the exterior panel and they came out a few weeks later and replaced the entire door! We did not expect that, but they wanted everything perfect.

This job went GREAT until it hit a few glitches toward the end. Salesman came on time, was knowledgeable and personable, made a real effort to identify best solutions to various aspects of the job. Job was scheduled for measuring, ordering and installation and all dates were kept. Work crew was skilled and conscientious. Any concern about the quality of the inside carpentry was addressed. Complaints: (1)crew had little supervision--I was home the whole time, and in effect supervised the crew, making numerous small adjustments and decisions;(2)crew was not knowledgeable about masonry construction, so were at a loss when they encountered loose masonry around the basement windows--my architect neighbor was kind enough to assist!;(3) it took the company 6 months to figure out how to install aluminum cladding on the exterior frames of two arched windows--a tricky detail that I pointed out beginning with the salesman. It took 5--FIVE! Service calls between November and May to get it right.

The workers were very nice but had a hard time installing the window because the work order did not list that they would need scaffolding on the outside because of the height, plants, and air conditioner in my yard. The window went in OK but they really strained to do this on ladders. They ended up creating a custom j-channel for outside the window since I don't have the correct size and they were working on a Saturday so the siding supply place was closed.

This company is great. They send someone for an estimate. They call you the day before and give you the time range, and they SHOW UP ON TIME!. Then the same tech who did the estimate comes for the repair, SHOWS UP ON TIME, and cleans up, and explains everything he does!

Today is 8/27/2006, the company has come back several time to continue the repairs and to repair items broken while making repairs. We are still waiting for the scratched sash and two bent screens to be replaced. We are now working with Mr. Saint Jean. He gets a crew to work on the job but does not give enough time for them to finish. So when their time runs out our job goes to the bottom of the todo list. We received a survey from Pella Iowa 7/21/2006 which we returned with very low scores and an attached letter describing the bad service KC Company was providing. To date we have heard nothing. I assume they do not care. If you do business with this company do not accept their front loaded payment schedule and make sure the contract has a completion date with penalties. I paid a premium price for the work to be done professionally and quickly. It is my opinion I am paying for their poor management and marginal construction skills to get some nice innovative windows.

I SPEND $20,000 ON MY WINDOWS! I AM VERY MAD AT THIS COMPANY. THEY ONLY REPLACED PART OF MY WINDOWS AND HAVE YET 6 MONTHS LATER TO REPLACE THE REST. THEY WOULDN'T COME OUT UNLESS MY HUSBAND WAS THERE. NOT AT ALL PLEASED WITH THEIR WORK.

I THINK THEY HAVE A VERY GOOD PRODUCT. I WAS SATISFIED WORKING WITH THEM. THEY HAD TO MAKE SOME ADJUSTMENTS DUE TO THE DESIGN OF BARS USED ON THE HOUSE. WE ALSO HAD TO RE NEGOTIATE THE PRICE WHICH CREATED SOME FRUSTRATION.

I AM NOT PLEASED WITH MY WINDOW INSTALLATION. THE JOB IS NOT GOOD. I HAVE TO HAVE SOMEONE ELSE COME IN AND LOOK AT IT. I AM NOT HAPPY. I HAVE OTHER THINGS TO DO BESIDES THIS.

KC COMPANY DEALS EXCLUSIVELY WITH PELLA WINDOWS AND DOORS. THEY HAVE A WIDE SELECTION OF WINDOWS AND DOORS TO CHOOSE FROM. FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION, IT IS VERY HARD TO GET HELP IN MAKING SELECTIONS BECAUSE THEIR SALES PEOPLE PREFER TO DEAL DIRECTLY WITH THE CONTRACTORS. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO CHOOSE MY PRODUCTS BY VISITING THEIR SHOWROOM AND GETTING A PRODUCT CATALOG WITH ALL WINDOW AND DOOR SELECTIONS AVAILABLE. THEY ARE FAIR WHEN IT COMES TO BEING RESPONSIVE TO THE CUSTOMER, BUT THEIR PRODUCT IS GOOD.

THE TECHNICIANS THAT HAVE PERFORMED THE WORK IN OUR HOME HAVE BEEN SUPERB AND OUR SALES CONTACT LINDA WAS EXCEPTIONAL. THE MAJOR CONSISTENT FLAW WITH PELLA IS THEIR CALL CENTER WHICH A CUSTOMER MUST GO THROUGH FOR SCHEDULING WORK APPOINTMENTS, ANY REPAIRS, FOLLOW-UP ETC. IN ALL OF OUR EXPERIENCES IT HAS BEEN SUB-OPTIMAL. THE STAFF ARE UNINFORMED, RUDE AND LACK REAL CUSOMER SERVICE TRAINING.
